Your Daily Schadenfreude: Arianna Hufflepuff Edition
Do you remember how much both AOL and The Huffington Post pushed Obama in 2008?
Arianna Hufflepuff, a woman (other than Liza Minelli or Fran Drescher) so frighteningly oblivious she (allegedly) had no idea she was married to a gay man for several years, was one of Obama’s loudest and most shrill cheerleaders in both the Democrat primaries and the general election.
She joined Oprah, the Charybdis of Lake Michigan, in anointing Obama as “The One”, and thus inextricably tied her lot to him.
The Huffington Post, an experimental publication produced largely from the mimeographed droppings of circus animals, has consistently been one of the first online organizations to call anyone disagreeing with Obama a damn, dirty RAAACIST! It is a better coifed, slightly more appealing, version of Soros minions The Daily Kos or Democratic Underground.
AOL decided to join in all this Obama-pushing fun, delusionally believing “The Golden Age of Hope and Change” would last a thousand years, at least, and the Fool-Aid so many drenched themselves in back in 2008 would never, ever expire.
So, AOL bought HuffPo for millions and millions of dollars. That made Arianna very happy, and AOL stockholders mighty sad.
Thanks to the Obamaconomy, the AOL/HuffPo painted chimera is worth approximately enough for two tickets to “Avenue Q”, in the upper balcony, of the Playhouse Square production, in Cleveland. Matinee only, of course.
AOL lost $2 billion in value in just ONE YEAR of Obama’s catastrophic presidency.
Not even Arianna’s erstwhile gay ex-husband wants anything to do with her, HuffPo, or AOL. Everyone involved in this deal is toxic.
It is, of course, not the nicest thing in the world to take great delight in seeing almost everyone who aggressively backed Obama in 2008 get their just desserts in 2011, but like the song above says…there sure is an effective German word for it.
You do speak German, Arianna, don’t you?

Oh, how I wish one of those wealthy republicans we always hear about would buy HuffPo and turn it into a conservative website. That would be so fun!
Couldn't have happened to a nicer dame. Maybe Arianna can merge AOL/HuffPo with Tina Brown's Daily Beast/Newsweek? And in another year when their HuffBeastWeek value has been reduced by -1000% and they've lost most of their readers they can just go away.
Before Obama was elected I didn't hate Tina Brown, she didn't seem to be that extreme. I used to think Arianna was a poor man's Tina Brown. Now tina is calling tea partiers terrorists being an all out A-hole. They can both screw off. What the hell is wrong with people….particularly business people, they should have enough sense to realize that this extreme left wing crap doesn't actually work.

Whatever do you mean?
Getting to see what-goes-around-comes-around In Action is joyous to me.
Maybe I'm not as nice as I thought hehehe
I do like these good wishes aboe for HuffyPoop/Newsweek/DB.
The NY Times is my ultimate fall-on-its-ass and fail fantasy for print media. It's been flubbering financially for a while, but the appalling slide of its journalism is something to behold. On the other hand, the Wall St. Journal, IMHO is the best or in the very top tier of U.S. newspapers now. Please keep those good schadenfreudistic thoughts going for the NYT? I'd also be happy with a fail for WaPo, LA Times, Star Tribune in the Twin Cities. Gotta Think Big.
I read Andrew Breitbart's book where he discusses being one of the founders of HuffPo. Considering Andrew's excellent work at bringing lefties down using their own words and actions, I was shocked to hear he had anything to do with HuffPo. But, as he explains it, he thought it was time to have a site where prominent liberals could write and post whatever they wanted UNDER THEIR OWN NAMES to bring them out of the darkness and let us see who they really are. Of course, his old friend Arianna (still can't figure out that friendship) was SURE he was doing it for the same reason she was, which is to give her leftie buddies a public voice in order to persuade the rest of us. While Arianna made out like a bandit (and the two-faced gold-digging opportunist she really is) AOL is realizing that the majority of people in this country aren't very interested in the rantings of the lunatic fringe.
Are you as surprised as I am that AOL still exists in any form at all?
Sometimes I get nostalgic for the late-90s/pre-Y2K years, firing up the old destktop clunker, hearing the whirrrrrs and beeeeeps as it connected through dial-up to AOL…then getting startled every time by the YOU’VE GOT MAIL! voice.
Sometimes I actually will listen to those sounds on YouTube, because they bring back a lot of memories.
But, who even pays for AOL anymore?
I bet it’s shrunk to just older people who never bothered to switch over…and I doubt these people are the type that enjoy the HuffPo Lefty hatefest.
Arianna Huffington is a hypocrite who changes her politics depending on what is "best for her at the time". . I cannot believe that she did not know that her husband was gay as much as believe that she knew, knew what she was getting herself into and decided to go along for the money. Who knows what kind of deal they made. During her marriage, she was far to the right because it served her purposes, now that she is divorced she is to the far left. There is no way that someone's politics and beliefs could shift so drastically in such a short period of time. Arianna Huffington is of the school "what is in it for me"?
It's not Austrian?
