“Why I’m a Democrat”…priceless

Posted on June 28, 2011 by Bridget // Hillbuzz, Identity Politics, The Left

There’s a video that’s been floating around that features young people (supposedly college students, I think).  They each state why they are a democrat.  It was featured on Ace of Spades yesterday (it even inspired a top ten list) and on Moonbattery.  Glenn Beck did a 10 minute segment about it on his television show.  The producers have pulled it off of Vimeo probably because it was being ripped apart by people with common sense. Dave Blount of Moonbattery managed to find it somewhere else so he posted it on his website last night.  Here it is…

“Why I’m a Democrat.  The video.”

Hurry up and watch it before it disappears again.

Great example of young lefty parrots….they just spit out the same old sad tag lines.

I wonder if their parents are proud of them?

Did they send them off to college with these ideas?

Do they realize that they have paid upwards of $50,000 per year for their kids to be taught this garbage?

My favorite line in this video…”I’m a democrat because America is a democracy, not a theocracy”.

Wow…I’m speechless.

What are your favorite lines in this video?

What a bunch of fluffy-headed nitwits! How about, "I'm a Democrat because I'm superficial and only relate to feel-good statements and programs. I don't actually have to do anything, I just need to say pretty things." Ore maybe speaking the truth would have been an option, like saying "I'm a Democrat because I believe in punishing corporations out of existence, pitying people all over the globe, and providing entitlements that I have no way to pay for." My personal favorite line was the lovely young lady who said she's a Democrat because they came to her neighborhood to organize. Hey, little girl, want some candy? I mean, want to be a Democrat? Geez, we're in trouble as a nation if this represents anything more than a minority of our youth.

Collective intelligence of a brick… Nothing of substance. Lets pick education. The other day, it was reported that these students at a harlem high school who so valued their education practically destroyed the school, placed a used condom in a teacher's purse, and threaten teachers. Even worst, the principle was an enabler in all of this, hired cronies, and robbed teachers of any authorities. Yes, these guys who so valued all of the money to education should serve one month in this school. When they come out, give me solutions, not more talking points about more money.

Thank you for posting this. People just don't know what goes on in urban schools — and that teachers' hands are tied — even when they are personally harassed or threatened — because of administrators. Lots of teachers check demographics before they apply to a school they're unfamiliar with — over 20%? Definite tipping point. 1No way. 15% is not good. Only if absolutely necessary. Keep putting the word out.

i'm a democrat because i think hope is the stuff of dreams and i believe in keeping that hope alive.
    i'm a democraaat…becuuuuz…of..the Patriot Act…?
i'm a democrat because i believe the government should take care of its citizens.
i'm a democrat because we are the party of civil rights (L.O.LLLLL!)
i'm a democrat because i believe thru government we can come together to do what we can't do individually.
i'm a democrat because i'm sick and tired of NAFTA style free trade agreements that are shipping good paying american jobs overseas.
i'm a democrat because i feel more women should be involved in politics and the democrat party is already told to do so.

some of the best from this cream of the crop….so basically, they are democrats because no one has any initiative to do what needs to be done unless Big Brother hold their hands and makes them? or they just love having a lot of fluffy feel good glittery ideas that amount to nothing? (1st guy). or, because it's OK to be on the dem side when it comes to women in the party, since being on the other side will only get you bashed, because it's NOT ok for women to be in the repub side since they weren't told to? NAFTA- HAH. that was clinton. oops. wait! i thought their guy they elected in 08 was a citizen of the world? so what's wrong with global communities within businesses and shipping jobs overseas. oh you tricky college kids giving me things to think about!

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said they have a lot of fluffy, feel-good, glittery ideas that amount to nothing. Obama got elected on fluffy, feel-good ideas (that and campaigning on the platform of "I'm not Bush") and college kids were his acolytes throughout. The kid who said the Dems are the party of civil rights obviously studied American History in public schools because he has it completely backward. Some of these kids should listen to themselves because if they really thought about it, they'd be Republicans. But the media makes it "cool" to be a Dem and "uncool" to be a lib. You have to know that these kids watch John Stewart for their news and analysis. I hear this same crap from my 20-something nephews and nieces.

Anyone know what college these kids are from?

"But the media makes it "cool" to be a Dem " This sentence completely sums up the problem that the Rebuplican party MUST address! Too much of the GOP is a top-down organization run by boring, pasty looking white guys (think Karl Rove). We must emphasize substance over just style but we can't ignore the fact that style does matter!

Listening to the kids inthis video, it is clear that they are operationg on pure emotions – they are Democrats because it makes them "feel" good about themselves. But "positive self esteem" without any actual results to justify the endless praise is what has produced these very kids!.

Conservatives need to figure out a way to appeal to young peopleby getting them to look forward – giving them reasons why dumping the Democrats will be better for everyone in the long run! People like Andrew Brietbart, Ben Shapiro and James O'Keefe are on the cutting edge of this movement and the dinosaur RINOs need to go! (This is why they all hate Sarah Palin, by the way. She doesn't play well with the old boys and she doesn't really care whose turn it is!)

A theocracy? You mean like a country in which Big Government (aka power-hungry , fallible people and those adept at working the monolithic system they set up) tries to control the behavior/ sin / problems of the human heart with laws, regulations, "nudges", and propaganda plus hypocritical do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do abuse by the leaders worthy of any cult? Isn't that liberalism in a nutshell?

My fave is the one about Democrats working to ensure that every child has a fair, high-quality education. Ha, ha, ha, ha, har, har, har har… hoo, boy. Still waiting for Superman on that promise (though most liberal elites aren't waiting, like the NAACP leader fighting to keep inner city kids out of charter schools and in their dropout factories, while sending his own kid to a posh boarding school) It's quite a feat to believe things like that in the face of, you know, facts and reality. Maybe these young, impressionable things will wake up, open their eyes and run smack up against reality for themselves. Let's hope it's sooner rather than later.

I am a Conservative because, when my checking account is out of money, I stop spending until my next payday… and I VOTE

I am a Conservative because, I believe a strong military is the best way to deter hostile actions against my family…. and the federal government should fund our defese, as tasked by the Constitution, and I VOTE

I am a Conservative because, I believe that any medical procedure that is performed on my minor child, I should know about…. AND I VOTE

Everyone's replies are right on point…however the sad part and thing WE MUST COMBAT is that, right or wrong, the dems currently have won the perception war. The kids believe what they are saying, even though they are so incredibly wrong.

So we have a job to do between now and election day. Working on a high-level political team a few years ago, an operative shared a glaringly wrong (or at that time unproven but assumed) "truism" about the opponent. When I said "but we don't know that, do we?" The response was: "Say it and its so. Say it loud enough, long enough and with confidence and it becomes so." We need to know our mantra, say it everywhere we go, say it with clarity and confidence and no matter what "they" say back, stay on course, and stay on message. It's what the libs & progressives have done very well–

And I'm a democrat because democrats can do whatever they want… you can run for office, twitter your junk, lie to everybody and still get a nice pension.

I'm a democrat because of the perks…. you can blame everyone for your mistakes and have lifetime use of the race card.

I'm a democrat because Abe Lincoln and Martin Luther King were democrats, and Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are black.

My favorite? "I'm a democrat because we're the party of civil rights." Well, he's obviously not a student of history, or he'd know it was the Democrats who tried to squash the Civil Rights bill . . . and if it weren't for Republicans it never would have passed.

And the Genius who is a democrat because America "is a democracy, not a theocracy." Wait, what???? Actually, America is a REPUBLIC, not a democracy.

Me? I'm a Republican – because I believe in limited government (it's my job to take care of myself, not the government's), in lower taxes (which encourages small business growth – the backbone of this country), and a strong defense (without which there wouldn't be Republicans or Democrats because some other crazy nation would conquer us). It's not a feeling . . . it's not "hope" . . . it's ISSUES. I love this country. If the democrats don't, then find another country to live in.

It's funny when I tell people to come here and they say: oh that's some R site. I find that amazingly amusing.

I'm not sure why if I believe the govt should be smaller, that I then MUST think the govt needs to be everywhere. At the same time.

    A better script:

White Man: I am a democrat because I was so indoctrinated with white guilt as a child in public school, that I was willing to offer up women as a holocaust to atone for that guilt, during the 2008 presidential selection.

Black Man: I am a democrat because I like to be confined to a community that is based on my race ( African American community.) I also enjoy being exploited by lawyers who wihish to maka a perpetual victim out of me.

Women: I am a democrat because I am convinced that the most valuable right any women can have is a right to choose abortion as her primary sorce of birth control. And I also like being referred to a a Bitch, Cunt, Whore , Flake and the like is I get to independent or uppity.
