I will also be using this list for Christmas shopping.

I am also going one step further and will only be purchasing items THAT ARE MADE IN AMERICA as gifts for friends and family!

I won’t be supporting other countries, when our people and our companies need income. It may take me a little longer and I might have to spend a little more but it will be worth it to keep my money in the good ol’ US of A. I’ll enjoy giving gifts all the more knowing they weren’t made in China, Bangladesh, Mexico, or anywhere else.

Wah! Costco and I are best friends! We don’t have Sam’s Clubs here. What to do? I can’t believe Costco is not conservative, because their business model is SO conservative. Right down to having happy, well-paid employees, who obviously are not unionized. It’s a very hard-work, customer service incentivized atmosphere, there. There’s no f***ing aroud in that store! They are working! I think they (the executives) are just trying to be cool, which is the norm, especially for Kirkland and the whole Puget Sound region. They don’t even know what they believe. They hear shiboleths, and go with them, to be cool.

On thing I have heard about businesses who give to Obama is that many are doing it seeking exemptions from Obamacare. Obama is very generous to the people who are generous with him. Perhaps that is why a company like Costco, that has a lot of part-time employees, might give to Obama.

I have one for y”all to mull over.. Boycott the new movie “Lincoln”. It’s made by DreamworksSKG which is Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and David Geffen. Katzenberg donated $3 million to Priorities Action USA PAC, the ones responsible for running the most vile, loathesome, despicable and untrue ad (in my opinion), “Understands”, the one with Joe Soptic accusing Mitt of killing his cancer stricken wife. Spielberg donated $1 million.

“Lincoln” is supposed to be a great movie, $50 million dollar production cost, supposedly has “Best Picture Oscar Buzz” about it… Under normal circumstances, I’d love to see it, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna plunk down any money to see a movie about the Greatest Republican President made by these Marxists!

If we can keep all the 50+million Romney/Ryan voters and their kids from seeing it, it will hurt them.

Pass this along to all your contacts. The movie just opened last weekend, and no doubt, they’re hoping for a big turnout for the Thanksgiving Weekend.

Once it comes out on DVD, coordinate with your friends and have a “Lincoln Party”. Invite as many friends as you can fit in your living room room to watch it for the price of one rental. Just don’t break the law by charging admission. If you want to be really snarky, video your party, and send it to Katz & Spiel, and let them know how many R/R voters enjoyed their movie for the price of one DVD rental.

Unlike boycotting Bill Mahr’s show, (he donated $1 million to the same pac), this is a one and done thing with a big budget theatrical release. They’ll never be able to make it up on rentals alone, and it will send a big statement to K&S.

Excellent list, Tams, since some of them are international corporations.

I am pleased to see that my previously irrational aversion to some of those brands (Liz Claiborne, Estee Lauder, Calvin Klein) must have been due to instinct: they didn’t pass my sniff-test (conservative or socialist, sniff sniff …) but I didn’t know why!

    Now I know – thanks!

Thank GOD Target is on the “nice” list!! That’s my favorite place to shop!

It was heartening to see a lot of good stores, BIG name stores and businesses, on the Republican list. Almost like seeing some bonafide-I’ve-actually-heard-of-them Hollywood actors that come out as conservative, vs. all the Tom Hank-types that are liberal.

I know it’s not supposed to matter, but heaven help me, it does. I hate when I enjoy someone and they spew hate towards my way of thinking. I haven’t been to a movie in years.

Add Carmax to that list too..

“Two former CEOs spoke on Obama’s behalf at the Democratic National Convention. Jim Sinegal, co-founder and former CEO of Costco, said job creation requires “companies that plant and grow, not executives who reap and run” — a not-so-subtle swipe at Romney’s Bain Capital.”

I do vote with my wallet. Starbucks is history in my house! However, I must ask if this information up to date? I ask only because I found a July 2012 article on Red State that quotes the same numbers:
    http://www.redstate.com/6755mm/2012/07/13/the-politics-of-shopping-and-consumer-decisions/

A lot happened between July and November 2012 and Romney became a lot more popular.

I looked up other links specifically regarding Costco because that is where the sacrifice would be for me :) and that showed that while donations to Obama exceeded those to Romney for the 2011-2012 election cycle, there was only $10K difference overall. Donations appeared to be pretty even handed across all parties and candidates:

There’s more… still looking for loophiles but finding none where Costo is concerned. It just gets worse. Influence Explorer allows you to download the detailed donation information if you click on the link at the bottom of that first page: >>View all campaign finance data for Costco Wholesale
Sinegal and Brotman, Costco co-founders, and Brotman’s wife Susan, self described Community Activist/ Volunteer – donated $199,590 of the total $220,682 given in the 2011/2012 cycle. Sinegal gave $500 of his indivudual $39,900 to a Republican. Fascinating detail. Donations were made every week of every month from February 2011 to August 7, 2012. No records listed after that time.

What strikes me is the alcoholic contributions- wineries support Democrats. But Coors and Budweiser- the beverages of the working man- support the GOP. Now who’s out of touch with the middle class?

According to the Open Secrets site, Lowe’s gave about 75% to Repubs.

Everybody already knows about Chick-Fil-A, I’m sure. Also note that Hobby Lobby is one of the companies fighting for freedom of religion–not wanting to pay insurance for abortions and abortifacients. They are suing…lost the first round but are appealing. Even if you don’t have one nearby, you can visit them online.

Comcast….cancelling and going with Dish. I don’t like their politics and they own NBC (MSNBC). Now, in order for that purchase to have been approved (NBC), they had to agree to provide low cost ($9.95/month) high speed internet service to any one who has children on the free or reduced lunch program. I, on the other hand, have to pay almost $60/month for that service alone and add that to the limited channels that I get, my bill is more than my gas, electric and water combined.
At least with DISH, I will be able to get Glenn Becks, Blaze TV!!

Another good idea is to go to leftists websites and patronize the companies they are boycotting. They are doing a lot of the work for you and it’s likely that their list is updated. This is what I do.

What’s crazy about their hatred of the “evil” Koch brothers is that these guys are libertarians and donate to many causes they would support.

Car Insurance: “Progressive” are big-time libs. When I found out a decade+ ago, I dropped them. I believe GEICO is a split but leans conservative.

Interesting, but going going the lists, even when I didn’t know, I didn’t like the D companies but really liked the R companies. I guess I just sensed the vibe.

I had GEICO insurance, but back when Glenn Beck exposed Van Jones for who he was, the group Color For Change went after all of his advertisers when he was with Fox News. GEICO dropped Glenn Beck, as did many others. I wrote to them about it, and they admitted that they did drop their advertising with him. So, I dropped GEICO.
But, I do love their commercials!
I can’t stand that creepy Flo on Progressive commercials. Especially now that they want you to put some thingamajig on your car to record your driving habits. Can you say big brother?

Do the research, HillBuzzers. The link I gave(even though you have to hit the “O”) will lead you to massive information about donors to political parties.

Money talks, so spend it wisely. And don’t support the left and their enablers.

    Pass it on!

Glad I always stay at Marriott and not Hyatt. I don’t think this is current though, Circuit City went out of business a few years ago.

Considering Obamacare it would be interesting to know which health service providers donated D vs. R.?

Tamminator, fantastic work! I was wishing someone would compile just such a list! I’m going to kiss several of these companies GOODBYE and support those who share my values. Thanks for keeping us informed.
