Tamminator, you ROCK! I just yelled “Ha!” when I pulled up Hillbuzz. I woke the dogs up and made my football-watching husband ask what I’m so excited about seeing. This is fabulous. I know it took a lot of work to do. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Levi’s 515 boot-cut are the only jeans on the planet that don’t make my butt look deformed. Ack !!!
Great, thank you! I will definitely keep this in mind.
Not being lazy, just really have absolutely no idea where to look for this info. Could you share search terms, sites, etc. so I/we can help research this issue, as well as inform ourselves and our friends?
hit the “O” in my post.
I think they know their demographics! I’m afraid they won’t feel my continued “boycott” LOL.
Love the list Tam. Thanks so much. I know where I’ll be doing the bulk of my shopping this Christmas. Yes, CHRISTMAS!!! I always say it, too. Funny the reactions you get.
Thanks again.
Thanks…..I will use this list for my shopping this year. What little I can afford anyway….Merry Christmas……
I will also be using this list for Christmas shopping.
I am also going one step further and will only be purchasing items THAT ARE MADE IN AMERICA as gifts for friends and family!
I won’t be supporting other countries, when our people and our companies need income. It may take me a little longer and I might have to spend a little more but it will be worth it to keep my money in the good ol’ US of A. I’ll enjoy giving gifts all the more knowing they weren’t made in China, Bangladesh, Mexico, or anywhere else.
Tam, thank you SO much!!! Do you have this info on progressive insurance?
This list is very helpful. I’ll share it with others. Thank you.
Wah! Costco and I are best friends! We don’t have Sam’s Clubs here. What to do? I can’t believe Costco is not conservative, because their business model is SO conservative. Right down to having happy, well-paid employees, who obviously are not unionized. It’s a very hard-work, customer service incentivized atmosphere, there. There’s no f***ing aroud in that store! They are working! I think they (the executives) are just trying to be cool, which is the norm, especially for Kirkland and the whole Puget Sound region. They don’t even know what they believe. They hear shiboleths, and go with them, to be cool.
On thing I have heard about businesses who give to Obama is that many are doing it seeking exemptions from Obamacare. Obama is very generous to the people who are generous with him. Perhaps that is why a company like Costco, that has a lot of part-time employees, might give to Obama.
Oops, I think I spelled that wrong. Doesn’t look right I think there are two b’s in shibboleth. How am I s’posed to know? I think 2 b’s. I know I could Bing it, but nah. Hoo boy, I seem like I’m getting an attitude. Nevermind me.
S’OK … it’s a Hebrew word in the first place … so no direct spelling connection …
GREAT!!
Keep adding more names to your list.
I will be watching. I will not do business with Democrat contributors, let them call OBAMA for money!
Actually… OBla bla’s money is our hard earned money /:(
Thanks — I always find it interesting the elitist lifestyle of the dem. supporters —- Anna Wintour, Sarah Jessica Parker, Calvin Klein, Martha Stewart, etc. Don’t get me wrong—as long as it’s legal—it’s their business how they spend their money——Just don’t support a tax policy that wastes our money.
Thank you for this! I will be using this exclusively for my shopping! THANK YOU
I have one for y”all to mull over.. Boycott the new movie “Lincoln”. It’s made by DreamworksSKG which is Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and David Geffen. Katzenberg donated $3 million to Priorities Action USA PAC, the ones responsible for running the most vile, loathesome, despicable and untrue ad (in my opinion), “Understands”, the one with Joe Soptic accusing Mitt of killing his cancer stricken wife. Spielberg donated $1 million.
“Lincoln” is supposed to be a great movie, $50 million dollar production cost, supposedly has “Best Picture Oscar Buzz” about it… Under normal circumstances, I’d love to see it, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna plunk down any money to see a movie about the Greatest Republican President made by these Marxists!
If we can keep all the 50+million Romney/Ryan voters and their kids from seeing it, it will hurt them.
Pass this along to all your contacts. The movie just opened last weekend, and no doubt, they’re hoping for a big turnout for the Thanksgiving Weekend.
Once it comes out on DVD, coordinate with your friends and have a “Lincoln Party”. Invite as many friends as you can fit in your living room room to watch it for the price of one rental. Just don’t break the law by charging admission. If you want to be really snarky, video your party, and send it to Katz & Spiel, and let them know how many R/R voters enjoyed their movie for the price of one DVD rental.
Unlike boycotting Bill Mahr’s show, (he donated $1 million to the same pac), this is a one and done thing with a big budget theatrical release. They’ll never be able to make it up on rentals alone, and it will send a big statement to K&S.

I love this site, I’ve been a lurker for a few months, but this is my first post.
Excellent list, Tams, since some of them are international corporations.
I am pleased to see that my previously irrational aversion to some of those brands (Liz Claiborne, Estee Lauder, Calvin Klein) must have been due to instinct: they didn’t pass my sniff-test (conservative or socialist, sniff sniff …) but I didn’t know why!
Now I know – thanks!
They didn’t donate directly, but Little Caesar’s pizza held a $40K a plate pizza party for Obama. You could also just donate $10K and get a handshake. Bye, bye Cheesy Bread! the only thing that is worth the ingredients on their menu.
“Denise Ilitch, daughter of Mike and Marian Ilitch, will host a $1 Million Pizza Party with husband Jim Scalici at their Bingham Farms home on April 18, according to CBS Detroit.”
I think the parents are conservative….
Thanks Tam!Excellent work!!!!
Thank GOD Target is on the “nice” list!! That’s my favorite place to shop!
It was heartening to see a lot of good stores, BIG name stores and businesses, on the Republican list. Almost like seeing some bonafide-I’ve-actually-heard-of-them Hollywood actors that come out as conservative, vs. all the Tom Hank-types that are liberal.
I know it’s not supposed to matter, but heaven help me, it does. I hate when I enjoy someone and they spew hate towards my way of thinking. I haven’t been to a movie in years.
Shoot, Martha Stewart has a line at Home Depot..what to do.! This list is very helpful, thank you. We can vote with our dollars until the next election.
Thanks for the list. Some of them are places I go to. Well, that will change. I see Wal-Mart on there for the R’s donation, wonder if that has something to do with the Unions…..going OWS style with the flash mobs, protesting and walk outs, threatening the shoppers. Just thinking out loud!!
http://nation.foxnews.com/george-soros/2012/11/20/soros-behind-black-friday-strike
So helpful! Thanks.
excellent list, thank you Tammy for your effort! kinda makes sense as to why leftists despise walmart and do whatever they can to take this company down.
Very useful list! Thanks!
Happy to see Outback on there – I can still get my 14.99 surf and turf. Woot!
Don’t forget Starbucks….
and
It’s the former CEO of Costco, not sure it makes any difference.
Add Carmax to that list too..
“Two former CEOs spoke on Obama’s behalf at the Democratic National Convention. Jim Sinegal, co-founder and former CEO of Costco, said job creation requires “companies that plant and grow, not executives who reap and run” — a not-so-subtle swipe at Romney’s Bain Capital.”
God bless Waffle House and may their business prosper! Waffle House saved our bacon one horrible terrible no-good Christmas day when my kids were tiny tots and we had to race 6 hours in the car to get home from the MIL’s house because our furnace went out on Christmas Eve night … Waffle House was the only place open on Christmas Day to feed us on the road and not only were they open, the staff were cheerful and ebullient and made us feel like welcomed guests … I only wish they had stores in the area we live now …
Thank you, Tamminator, for doing all this research! Woot-woot!
Capitalism: fighting the forces of leftism since the advent of money.
I think this qualifies as the best information I have ever received on the internet. I have printed out the list, and will carry it with me for all my shopping needs, esp. this Christmas (and I mean mean) season.
I do vote with my wallet. Starbucks is history in my house! However, I must ask if this information up to date? I ask only because I found a July 2012 article on Red State that quotes the same numbers:
http://www.redstate.com/6755mm/2012/07/13/the-politics-of-shopping-and-consumer-decisions/
A lot happened between July and November 2012 and Romney became a lot more popular.
I looked up other links specifically regarding Costco because that is where the sacrifice would be for me
and that showed that while donations to Obama exceeded those to Romney for the 2011-2012 election cycle, there was only $10K difference overall. Donations appeared to be pretty even handed across all parties and candidates:
http://influenceexplorer.com/organization/costco-wholesale/9f8574f18f644ce18a693ba03a7d9d8d
Use the Politicians Tab on Influence Explorer for the breakdown:
http://influenceexplorer.com/politicians
OK, so I am a moron. The politicians breakdown is not specific to Costco. Sigh. More coffee anyone – just not Starbucks!
There’s more… still looking for loophiles but finding none where Costo is concerned. It just gets worse. Influence Explorer allows you to download the detailed donation information if you click on the link at the bottom of that first page: >>View all campaign finance data for Costco Wholesale
Sinegal and Brotman, Costco co-founders, and Brotman’s wife Susan, self described Community Activist/ Volunteer – donated $199,590 of the total $220,682 given in the 2011/2012 cycle. Sinegal gave $500 of his indivudual $39,900 to a Republican. Fascinating detail. Donations were made every week of every month from February 2011 to August 7, 2012. No records listed after that time.
Some may be out of date. I copied the info from someone who sent it to me and had looked it up. Don’t know when they looked it up, but most of them are pretty accurate. Thanks for that link. I’ll check it out!
Kroger Co has a PAC that donated 73% to Repubs … that’s a relief as my favorite grocery is a Kroger subsidiary …
AT&T donated about 2/3 to Repubs, can’t see the exact percentage … so we can keep our cellphones …
Oh, Tammy! This is just GREAT! Thank you for doing the research — I’m going to be sure to support stores that support me.
Gee T-
thought Circuit City was consumed by the Lightbringer’s economy a couple years ago…. nice to see I was mistaken…
That one may be out of date. Check out the Open Secrets link for more information on who donates to whom. It’s quite enlightening!
This is so helpful!
Target donated to the Reublican party!!!! Wow, I’m in shock, I always thought these guys did the opposite. I’m extremely pleased!
Glad to see that I was already supporting the GOP without knowing it, just by shopping at Target and Walmart.
What strikes me is the alcoholic contributions- wineries support Democrats. But Coors and Budweiser- the beverages of the working man- support the GOP. Now who’s out of touch with the middle class?
I am not going to buy anything from any of those companies. As a matter of fact, I am going to write each and every one of those companies and tell them why.
I encourage everyone who is willing to not buy their product due to their politics, then they should tell them why.
Hit them where it counts, the pocket book. Then for good measure, let them know you didn’t buy their product and why.
Lowe’s is safe, too … God bless Home Depot, but I find their stores repellent … Lowe’s is just a lot cleaner and better organized, at least for me …
Lowe’s is safe? Did I miss something? We have both here and I just want to make sure I can go to either
According to the Open Secrets site, Lowe’s gave about 75% to Repubs.
Thank you for that!
Thanks for this list, Tamminator! I’m forwarding it on to family and friends.
Everybody already knows about Chick-Fil-A, I’m sure. Also note that Hobby Lobby is one of the companies fighting for freedom of religion–not wanting to pay insurance for abortions and abortifacients. They are suing…lost the first round but are appealing. Even if you don’t have one nearby, you can visit them online.
Comcast….cancelling and going with Dish. I don’t like their politics and they own NBC (MSNBC). Now, in order for that purchase to have been approved (NBC), they had to agree to provide low cost ($9.95/month) high speed internet service to any one who has children on the free or reduced lunch program. I, on the other hand, have to pay almost $60/month for that service alone and add that to the limited channels that I get, my bill is more than my gas, electric and water combined.
At least with DISH, I will be able to get Glenn Becks, Blaze TV!!
Another good idea is to go to leftists websites and patronize the companies they are boycotting. They are doing a lot of the work for you and it’s likely that their list is updated. This is what I do.
What’s crazy about their hatred of the “evil” Koch brothers is that these guys are libertarians and donate to many causes they would support.
Car Insurance: “Progressive” are big-time libs. When I found out a decade+ ago, I dropped them. I believe GEICO is a split but leans conservative.
Interesting, but going going the lists, even when I didn’t know, I didn’t like the D companies but really liked the R companies. I guess I just sensed the vibe.
I had GEICO insurance, but back when Glenn Beck exposed Van Jones for who he was, the group Color For Change went after all of his advertisers when he was with Fox News. GEICO dropped Glenn Beck, as did many others. I wrote to them about it, and they admitted that they did drop their advertising with him. So, I dropped GEICO.
But, I do love their commercials!
I can’t stand that creepy Flo on Progressive commercials. Especially now that they want you to put some thingamajig on your car to record your driving habits. Can you say big brother?
Do the research, HillBuzzers. The link I gave(even though you have to hit the “O”) will lead you to massive information about donors to political parties.
Money talks, so spend it wisely. And don’t support the left and their enablers.
Pass it on!
Glad I always stay at Marriott and not Hyatt. I don’t think this is current though, Circuit City went out of business a few years ago.
Considering Obamacare it would be interesting to know which health service providers donated D vs. R.?
Tamminator, fantastic work! I was wishing someone would compile just such a list! I’m going to kiss several of these companies GOODBYE and support those who share my values. Thanks for keeping us informed.
Circuit City? I thought they went BK LONG ago.
