Who is Edward Davis, and why doesn't he get parking tickets in Chicago?

Posted on May 31, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Can you get confirmation on the owner of this car?

We need some sleuthing help here.  The more people who can do this, the more cover it gives all of us in going up against the Daley Machine and corrupt Democrats here in Chicago.

Tomorrow, when the Secretary of State’s office opens here in Chicago, if it is at all possible, please go down there and ask how to identify the owner of IL-plate X55 0474, a silver 2002 BMW. This is the “unticketable car” in our “Mystery of the Unticketable Car”.

We got a tip the owner’s name is Edward Davis, but we need this confirmed, and we don’t know if we’ll be able to make it to the Loop and talk to the Secretary of State’s office ourselves.  If you work in Chicago, and you get a lunch break, maybe you could do some sleuthing and email the results to us at HillBuzz@gmail.com.

If the owner of this car really IS Edward Davis, then which Edward Davis is it?  Doing a quick Google search, there are several potential EDs out there.  One of them is a Daley appointee to a planning committee.  Another’s a caterer.  It sure doesn’t make any sense a caterer wouldn’t be getting tickets when parked in that yellow zone.

So, once we’ve solidly ID-ed the car’s owner, we can then work on the mystery of why this person’s being protected from getting tickets.

Then, it’s a matter of figuring out who else is getting this kind of protection.

And what system is in place within Chicago city government to carry out this protection.

This could actually be much, much bigger than one silver Beemer consistently parked illegally in Boystown.

Or, it could end up being this was the luckiest guy in the whole wide world until we happened to notice what he was getting away with for so long.

Either way, we need your help to solve the mystery once and for all.

Uh, for the record, this vehicle has been ticketed 30 times since November 2007…mostly for parking outside a metered space. 12 tickets were paid, 18 were dismissed.

The most recent ticket in the database being issued in mid-December 2009.

Five months without a ticket would be a record for Mr. Davis…

    Chicago parking ticket database: https://parkingtickets.cityofchicago.org/CPSWeb/web/SearchTickets.jsp

Also, one of Sidetrack’s more entertaining bartenders is Edward Davis….he’s also the caterer mentioned above.

OT, I read last year there is some really funny (funny strange not funny ha ha) payoff stuff going on the Chicago water department… Eg whole buildings getting free water if they go along w/the Daley regime.

I have no proof, but if you are into sleuthing the Chicago corruption this year: just a tip.

Question. So if Ed Davis turns out to be a chief bottle washer somewhere…Could it be like all those signs that were put up at intersections looking for a real estate apprentice?

that was the loan-fraud scam where for a set fee you give out your id info, like soc security number, fico, name etc so another can use it to apply for a loan for a house.

So say someone who likes a nice ride but also likes his privacy AND easy parking unofficially contracts with someone to put a car in their name?

    or

some poor schmuck doesnt even realize this cool car is in his name?

As farfetched as it sounds it IS chicago, land of flimflam, capital of razzle, dazzle and crafty people. shoot sounds like there is a large group of people there when offered two alternative choices, one legal and on the straight and narrow and the other illegal and more crooked than a DNA spiral, they would choose the crooked just for fun and practice.

    Good luck everyone!

Why is it that every Google hit for that address seems to somehow involved the former GM of Gentry, a piano bar that once occupied Scarlet’s space? The name of the now-deceased former owner of Gentry? David Edwards.

Breaking: FL 24th District Congressional write-in Candidate Larry Sinclair is asking why immediately upon landing in Chicago this weekend, B.O. met with U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald.

Additionally, Larry states he has been contacted by documentarian T. Patrick Murray about his well-known 1999 encounters with Barack Obama. They have met and set up a film shoot to tell the tale depicted in Larry’s Amazon top-100 best-selling novel.

Finally, a conservative radio station is said to be ready to discuss next week the various allegations circulating about Obama’s sexual meanderings.

Ed Davis the caterer is also a bartender at Sidetrack on Halsted. He has a facebook page. Does bartending (and catering) enable you to earn a gold BMW and a free parking pass from the city? Maybe the City Planner is a better bet.

motley, I noticed that, too. So…tickets were being issued, with most of them being ‘dismissed’ and just a handful ‘paid’ up until that date.
Then, something happened, and an exemption status, or whatever it is, was issued so they no longer even issue tickets.

I find it curious that this driver would park it in such a conspicuous space.

the address seems to be condos or apartments. Soooo stymied there.

However real estate transactions are public. go down to the courthouse and lookup the address and follow the titles. unless of course he rents. if it is ‘him’.

I have had alot of fun tonite tooling around looking and poking. It was a slow night at work.

I even wound up looking through the pdf files for the chicago public school system supppliers. (yes it WAS that slow at work :D ) Wowza! what a fertile field for graft and corruption if i ever saw one! Wacker st alone is represented big time! Chicago caterers get a honking big payout too, and also boston’s Au Bon Pan as well.

Although shred-it at over 20k was amusing. Buy a tux was pretty neato too at over 10k. C.A.I.R.s did well too at over 100k. chicago gift and souvenir of 2002 at almost 25k was funny too. sigh. then beg and beg for more money cuz ‘its for the children’.

Turns out a neighbor addy may be someone you may have crossed paths with professionally. perhaps he would know which apt /who is the free parker

first if you are young and hot…thongs for the flash and enticement.

Second, if you are older and not so, um, eye-fresh, it is to avoid VPL. that is it, that is all, that is the whole shebang…to avoid panty lines.

WHY CANT EVEN HER HUSBAND TELL HER SHE LOOKS LIKE A RAGBAG LEFTOVER BOBOLI?

Its like when someone has a booger hanging from the nostril…if you really loved them you would tell them.

Same rules for clothing, especially if it truly heinous and DOUBLE DOG IMPORTANT if you know there are going to be pictures taken…tell your SO the clothes suck BEFORE the pics are taken and released into the wild.

Never even considered it. He is not, repeat not, my President. And shame on the clueless idiots who put this sham of a president in office. May they be the first to suffer from his stupidity and arrogance. Let’s take out the trash every chance we have to vote..both local and federal.

That picture of the first ” whatever” just about caused me to upchuck. Please post some type of warning before posting any similar picture. Thanks!

Didn’t some clown who interviewed d’ohbama say that he “just knew” barry was “presidential material” when he saw the perfect crease in his pants?

It looks as though barry is still wearing that *same* pair of pants (since ’08) from the wrinkles and the way the knees are all blasted out. Does he own more than one suit? Is there anybody in the white house laundry who can iron a pair of pants?
The man looks like a bum.

Not to mention that his shoes could use a shine.

All in all, a disappointing excuse for a “first family”.

That PCC (“Polite Company Conservative”) you are thinking of is David Brooks of the NY Times (Warning: have your barf bag handy):

      http://www.tnr.com/article/politics/the-courtship

Here’s a excerpt from that little ditty: “That first encounter (with Dr Utopia) is still vivid in Brooks’s mind. “I remember distinctly an image of–we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,” Brooks says, “and I’m thinking, a) he’s going to be president and b) he’ll be a very good president.”

I think that was David Brooks who was all gaga about the crease in the pants.

    Mystery Solved – Sort Of
Hillbuzz is having a field day with this one.

The registered owner info popped up there, here and a couple of other blogs. TheExpiredMeter opines this might be a mistake – there is no signage designating a “No Parking Zone,” but the yellow line on the curb is usually indicative of some sort of restriction (distance from hydrant, crosswalk, etc.) Now here’s another twist:
