What’s on your minds this Wednesday?
What are people talking about in your part of the country?
*******************************************************
Today, we’re finishing up our analysis of Governor Palin’s “Lifeguard Speech” in Washington, IL this last Saturday. We’re also working on the research we need for an article we want to do for Palin supporters on how we can take the word “polarizing” away from the media, so they can’t use it as a weapon against women like Palin any longer. We’ve said before that Palin is a lot like Buffy the Vampire Slayer in many ways — she’s beautiful, tells it like it is, has a quick, sharp wit, and is underestimated constantly by her foes. She also has talents and strengths beyond the average person — and, frankly, seems like she was put here by destiny just when the world most needed saving.
If Palin’s Buffy, we’ll be her Xanders, and we hope the rest of you join our Scooby Gang too. And, as good Scoobies, we play the support role so the Slayer can do her thing out there…so it’s research time on all the uses of the word “polarizing” employed against Palin…so that we can think of a way to magically turn this misogynistic/sexist code word against the Left.
One suggestion from a reader is to morph it into polar-ICING. As in, Palin’s going to “polar ice” the country, and bring some of her common sense Alaskan can-do know-how to clean up the mess the Left has made of the country. You betcha.
For those of you who have no idea what the Buffy references are all about, you’ll just have to bear with us, because it’s the most awesome show that ever was (even if Robby’s sister Ann-Louise still swears, to this day, that Sarah Michelle Gellar stole the title role away from her…thus starting a never-ending blood feud between a delusional 36 year old and a Hollywood actress that’s never heard of her).

I guess I just don’t get the icing part. Maybe it’s only me, but I liked where it was going with the “polarize me”, cuddling polar bears, and more, and the icing just makes me feel cold and think of ice and icicles = (
Is it a play on the phrase “icing on the cake”?
That is how I thought of it, but I’m sure there are more interpretations. Whatever works!!—-
I could see that working. She’s icing on the cake/she’s got it all.
Looking forward to the next part of the Sarah Palin write-up.
I recently came to Sarah Palin’s defense against several liberals on Facebook. Of course the traditional criticisms of her surfaced: “she’s a quitter”, “my gut tells me she’s bad news”, “she’s a diva” (which is code for “she’s a successful conservative woman”), etc.
Of course these are all easily shot down with the presentation of facts, but one criticism that I couldn’t respond to was Sarah Palin attending four different colleges. This, in and of itself, is not indicative of anything in particular, but I am not quite sure how to address it specifically.
I usually just go to my standby, which is to ask the liberals point blank which policies of Palin’s they disagree with and why. That generally shuts them up.
Anyway, I don’t think I changed any minds of the liberals I was specifically arguing with, but I did score some points over them because of how they just bashed her without facts and refused to acknowledge ANYTHING good about her, including her taking on her own party for corruption in Alaska.
I did pick up two new Facebook friends who happened to read over the posts and liked them enough to friend me.
The moral of this story is, don’t be afraid to argue the facts with someone you know can’t be swayed, because you might reach someone who’s on the fence. So long as you present your argument rationally and with facts to support, and be respectful of the other side no matter how vitriolic they get, you can definitely win hearts and minds.
I’m only aware of Palin having attended two colleges — Hawaii (for one semester) and Idaho. What are the others? The other criticism I hear along these lines is that it took Palin more than 4 years to earn her degree — it took five because she paid her own way and sometimes had to take a semester off to earn $$$ to go back. (Going Rogue, pp. 41-45.)
From what I read, she attended the following:
Hawaii Pacific University
North Idaho College
University of Idaho
Matanuska-Susitna College (Alaska)
University of Idaho (2nd time, graduated)
I actually don’t know the story behind it. Was she moving around with Todd as he was working? Was it money related?
Don’t know. Maybe one of the C4Pers know — they seem to be pretty clued into all things Palin.
I think she didn’t have money, since she was paying her own way thru school.
So, when she needed to earn money to continue, she went back to AK to earn it. And I guess, she may not have liked that school and so transferred to another.
I do remember it being a money issue b/c she kept going back to AK to earn $$, she worked at a fish plant from what I have read over the summers.
Read her book…any Palin supporter should read her book…GOING ROGUE…then you will know…and yes…SHE PAID HER OWN WAY THROUGH COLLEGE…”they” will try to use that against her though..that she went to so many different schools..
Key point…she paid her own way! Unlike Dr. Utopia who most likely went to schools as an affirmative action student…or as a foreign student…but of course we can’t prove that since all his records are sealed.
Sarah should announce her candidacy & challenge Obama on college transcripts & other records:
“My records are open — why do you refuse to release yours?” or
“I’ve shown you mine, now let’s see yours!”
I agree with Mark, if you are going to defend Sarah in any way, so MUST, MUST, read Going Rogue. I am in the middle of it myself. She explains why it took her so long graduate. Her parents told all their kids, “you are paying your own way.” So, as ssmith, noted she had to go back to AK and work.
When people attack her on the school issue, it makes them look elisist and spoiled. “What did daddy pay your way through school, and you look down on anybody who didn’t?”
Palin’s working through college is a huge strength and is far more prestigious than Obama’s extremely questionable “college career” that no one can find anything about due to all of those sealed records, and to the bizarre fact that he seemed to have no friends in college and was a extremely unmemorable student to all of his professors. This, the future President of the United States? Friendless and unmemorable? Hmmmmm. Curioser and curioser.
As for taking five years and changing a lot of schools, I don’t blame her. A lot of state schools are frankly tough to go to and to graduate from. A lot are not exactly inspiring places due to the fact that so many are factories, just taking in anyone and everyone for the cash cow large class undergrad courses, and who cares about the actual quality of the university. I’m not surprised she was unhappy and kept trying to find a good one. Didn’t she also have a child while she was attending college? And she still graduated, while working her way through. How liberals of all people who are always going on and on about the working man, can look down on her for adulthood is amazing to me.
She is far more impressive and inspiring than many a Ivy Leaguer.
Going Rogue is on my reading list for sure… but I always have a giant reading list. Maybe I will have to escalate her book to the top.
She didn’t have any children while attending college…she wasn’t even married then…but after graduating she went back to Alaska and her and Todd soon married…in a very official/unofficial wedding ceremony…you have got to read that book NOW if you haven’t read it…it will answer so many questions..
My answer is, “Big deal. She, like many middle class Americans that work their way through college, go to several junior and/or community colleges to get the classes they need to graduate from a state university. Not all of these local schools offer all classes so you have to go here, go there, then go back here before you can transfer. More importantly she finished faster than most people who have to go this route, earned a degree AND IS WILLING TO SHOW THE DEGREE ALONG WITH HER TRANSCRIPTS TO PROVE SHE WAS A FIGHTER EVEN AS A COLLEGE KID.”
And let’s not forget that The Light Bringer will not allow the release of his own academic records.
As for his being termed “A Professor of Constitutional Law” – oops!
That claim is “no longer operative”!
Frankly, I’m much more impressed by her attending 4 colleges. What it says to me is that she was determined to get her degree, no matter what she had to do to get it. The fact that she worked her way through college impresses me no end. I also worked 30 hours a week while taking 20 units so I could finish school earlier. I couldn’t afford that extra semester.
To me this whole “4 colleges” thing is another example of how the elitists view the rest of us. I’ve worked with many of these people who once they get to know me and realize my breadth of knowledge just assume that I went to a big university. When I tell them I went to a California State University they’re shocked. My parents couldn’t afford to send me to an elite university and there weren’t any scholarships available for the likes of me. Some of us have to WORK for what we get.
I think that’s why Sarah is so popular amongst regular folks. We know that she understands us because she’s one of us.
Also, often when they are sent to those “prodigious” universities they just spend their parent’s money and come out educated (or not) nuts.
I have a attended at least 5 colleges and have 1 BA and 2 MS.
4 colleges—so what?
I posted this link on another thread, but it’s a good article on the Palin-Obama education differences.
http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/015/510lpuif.asp
Lesson learned, it’s not how you get educated, it’s what you do with it. Obama has a track record of being an underachiever, whereas, Sarah is an overachiever.
This is a good read I found written by Jack Cashill 11/09..
“The Competing Narratives of Barry & Sarah”..
http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/11/the_competing_narratives_of_ba.html
Great read Abby, I’ve bookmarked it
Yes, the four-college thing was a money issue. She EARNED her own money to pay for college.
What did Barack Hussein Obama do to pay for his? Scholarships? Okay. Fine. But dissin’ someone for going to more than one college and taking more than four years to earn the degree is silliness and pettiness.
I’d like to know this, however, about the current resident of the White House: When did Barack Hussein Obama EVER earn a paycheck resulting from PRODUCTIVE work?
Did Obama ever work at a department store (the way I did)? On farms, hoeing and slinging watermelons (the way I did)? As a janitor (the way I did)? In asbestos containments (the way I did)? As a part-time gardener (the way I did)? As a odd-job doer (the way I did)?
Has Barack Hussein Obama EVER done a damn thing? Or has he always just stirred the pot as a community organizer?
Don’t tell me Jesus Christ was a community organizer. Jesus was a carpenter. Jesus hung out with fishermen and low-life tax collectors and low-life lawyers. The tax-collector and lawyer bits are the only similarities between Jesus and Obama. And Jesus called them to abandon what they were doing!
Obama is one LAZY-ASS, golf-playing bastard.
Hear hear!
http://www.breitbart.tv/the-b-cast-interview-was-obama-a-committed-marxist-in-college/
Here’s someone who’s finally talking about Obama while at Occidental. Enjoy!
BTW, Eric, thanks for sharing your insight on how to talk to liberals and fence sitters. That’s very helpful, b/c (hopefully) when Sarah has “skin in the game” we are all going to be doing this quite frequently.
It took my husband 11 years to graduate! LOL…of course he wasn’t a VP candidate either. But seriously, I just think it makes her more “one of us”. My parents paid for my college but they did it by taking out a home equity loan on their house…and they were only able to do it at all because my sister didn’t go and went the wife/mother route instead. I knew quite a few kids that did have to pay their own way, and they were usually better students over all than the rest of us who had it paid for.
It’s just like everything else, you don’t appreciate anything unless you have to work for it. When it’s free you don’t care as much.
I think she wrote that she left U of Hawaii because she and her roommate were homesick then she went to Idaho and I imagine that the lack of funds would have made her go to another university instead of the U of Idaho, maybe the other one was cheaper? I can imagine that she might have taken a few classes at Mat-Su because she was at home working to earn money and instead of just working still wanted to take a few classes so she would have some more credits under her belt while she was working and therefore could transfer those credits.
Anyway, I now I am rambling here but I have a friend who went to a two year community college first and then transferred to a four year university and attended for her junior and senior year. She was paying for her school and the CC was cheaper than attending the 4 year university for all four years.
Also..she was born in Idaho and had family there and may have been one of the reasons she went there…actually the U. of Idaho is a pretty good school…my husband was at North Idaho College when she was..but says he doesn’t remember her…darn too bad huh??
On my mind today . . . are radio and TV personalities on the right complicit in pushing the polarizing meme? Are they just as likely to identify and deliberately push their favorite candidates as those on the left? Here’s why I ask: I love Dennis Miller’s radio program and listen to the daily podcast. It is almost as if he goes out of his way to convince himself and his listeners that Palin is not running and should not run for president. In fact, on Monday’s show, in the course of about 3 minutes he brought up (1) the $$$ that she has made in the past year, (2) the cheerleader meme, and (3) the Couric interview. When she announced her Alaska series, Miller was quick to call it a “reality show” and seemed almost gleeful in concluding that it meant she was not considering a 2012 run. He also lambasted her for her “reload” comment and never misses an opportunity to suggest that she is not as smart as other contenders.
In the past, I’ve heard Miller champion Romney. After seeing some of the Romney supporters post on this site recently, it occurred to me that Miller sounds A LOT like them. Is it possible that he has signed on with Mitt and is pushing this narrative deliberately? Or is he just reading Mitt’s materials in his free time and allowing the talking points to creep in?
It’s a good point. I don’t listen to Miller, though I occasionally catch him when I watch O’Reilly and generally like him.
However, one of the main reasons I no longer consider myself a Republican is that they tend to put up candidates based on “turns”. Oh, it’s a Bush’s turn. Oh, it’s McCain’s turn. Oh, now it’s Romney’s turn.
My guess is that Miller himself has been bitten by the MSM’s “polarizing” ploy.
There is an undeniable perception out there, even among the right of the right, that Palin is not electable for one reason or another. Most of these people next to nothing about her. They’ve just heard her described as “polarizing” or “inexperienced” or “dumb” by someone else.
There is no question that, in some circles, she has ground to make up and perceptions to overcome if she ultimately throws her hat in the ring.
But I do believe that she can do that. I also believe that Romney and others have a lot of ground to make up in terms of exciting the base. Sarah Palin is miles ahead in that regard.
I so agree about the republicans choosing their candidates by ‘turn’.
That’s how Bob Dole got the nomination when everyone knew he had no chance in hell of winning.
Same with McCain, but at least he introduced us all to Sarah.
Yep, the way some of the Academy Awardees are selected.
It seems to me that the Republican core-leadership still consider their base irrelevant and slightly embarrassing~~unless we either start making noises (like Tea Party noise) or are really REALLY needed for a particular election.
They “court” us the same way the DNC courts their groups.
EG: Michael Steele falling all over himself recently trying to prove that he gets it w/re to Tea Partiers. As far as I’m concerned, if he really got it, we would instinctively know that, he would know that we knew it and he wouldn’t be explaining himself all the time. Just like McCain trying to explain how he really is a conservative. Any t
ignore “any t”…incomplete deletion. Sorry.
EricP, I completely agree with you about this “turn” nonsense. The Repubs act like they’re playing a game of jump rope. “I’m next. No you aren’t, it’s MY turn. WAAH!” They sound like a bunch of spoiled rotten little girls. I holler “oh for God’s sake man up” at my TV a lot these days. It’s telling that the only two GOP pols who don’t sound like spoiled little girls are actually girls … Palin and Bachmann.
I swear its true. Palin & Bachman appear to have the most testosterone of any GOP leader out there.
However, Rush, Mark Levin and Tammy Bruce absolutely LOVE her. I’d take them and their sheer volume of listeners over Dennis Miller anyday.
I like Dennis Miller also, but I’d take your trio over him anytime.
Glen Beck likes her too. In fact, they’ve become friends.
I don’t get why people pay homage to Romney. Don’t get it. He led a liberal state as Republican. That’s an accomplishment. But the man has as much if not more ground to cover than Palin if he wants to run for POTUS.
His health care program in MA is what turns me off the most. His flip-flops on issues (like abortion) turn me off. I am pro-life. But if you aren’t at least be honest about it. Be consistent. Be principled.
Mitt is nice looking. BFD! So is Sarah. And that in and of itself really makes no difference to me. Sarah and I agree on the issues most of the time. And I can count on her to live by principles. I don’t know that about Mitt.
Mitt Romney is a nice enough person..but I wouldn’t vote for him..Just don’t think he is my pick for president and I do think the Reps are pushing him..
You know, they, the Reps, better get their act together..this is their time to shine. Mitts health care in MA has almost sunk the state..
Hell yes they’re pushing that loser. Party of stupid.
I agree with you on Romney. I didn’t like him in 2008 and I like him less now.
It’s a litmus test for me – if a radio host or commentator dismisses Sarah Palin, I pretty much cross them off MY list.
They usually fall into one of three categories: RINOS, elitists, or they have their own presidential ambitions.
Same here. With the internet there is plenty of choice on who I listen to. Right now i’m into Beck, Rush, Bruce, Hewitt, Levin. Miller and Savage used to be regulars until theu both started knocking her. Savage called her a bimbo and an Alaskan hick; miller in coy about is disdain questioning her qualifications. Thank God for the internet.
I don’t like Dennis Miller, never have. And speaking of qualifications, what makes him qualified to be a political analyst/commentator anyway? All I can see is he has a big mouth that moves all the time.
I know a lot of people think we should forget about this issue and concentrate on something else, but I am still absolutely furious knowing that an anti-American pretender is running our country.
And doing us so much harm.
Everyone else seems to know it too:
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/22221
We – the American public – are being treated like fools!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. O isn’t singularly hiding his birth certificate. He is hiding everything. Two million dollars is hiding over 40 years of documents. There is something in those documents that is worth spending two million dollars to hide. Myopically focusing on the birth certificate distracts people from this. What is hidden in all those other documents? If he gets everyone off on the red herring (or maybe not) of his birth certificate they won’t be questioning everything else due to this obsession with one little piece of paper. What about the reems of other papers? What is in there? Where does that paper trail lead?
I also want to see everything – not just his birth certificate.
The Rev. Manning is part of an upcoming trial against Columbia U, demanding answers about Obama’s false diploma and his true whereabouts during those years:
http://drkatesview.wordpress.com/2010/04/20/this-week-on-revolution-radio/
I don’t know how reliable he is or where this will go, but it could be interesting.
Did you see where the new thing they just passed in Arizona requires that he show his birth certificate to the state? He can’t run for president in 2012 with his name on the ballot in Arizona unless he shows it. It was voted in their bill overwhelmingly. I saw a Dem say “We just need to get this over with so it’s not an issue”. So, maybe that will take care of it one way or another. I hope so. If he’s not a citizen we need to know. If he is we need to know.
The Ariz.law would apply to all POTUS candidates Seems fair.
The only thing I wonder about the AZ law is The O-Machine will just run anyways saying he is exempt because he is ALREADY president and that proves he is a citizen and has been settled.
And I am sure his followers/network are working on a “bombshell” certificate that is an absolute perfect forgery. It will reveal two American citizen parents (a false father, albeit). This is why his other records are so important and should be the focus.
And….there is something wrong with a president being able to seal all his own records by the stroke of his pen. Did he really do that as the first thing done when he took office? How could he do that? Is not that impeachable? Or at least not enforceable? Is that not misuse of office for personal gain?
I think he uses that “sealed records” very broadly and sees it as license to scrub the internet (a form of “sealing”)of all archives referring to him as Kenyan, foreign student, Muslim, etc.
When I first heard about Obama and late-term abortion, I was able to go online and read minutes of Illinois State Senate Minutes (I think that is what it was called) and read his own words on the subject. I told people, and by the time they went to do the research…..nothing….made me look like the liar and the fool. Those are public records and yet they are sealed because he is a part of them??????? I don’t understand how people don’t see the bizareness of this move of his, if he really did sign for his records to be sealed.
This is such a multi-headed snake, because even if they “prove” he’s a citizen, that in and of itself does not qualify him to run for POTUS. I have yet to see anyone with judicial, legislative or judicial status clearly define “natural born” citizen.
We’re not forgetting Dora, we are just moving past it to the bigger goal. He’s illigemate for various reason. But our focus needs to be on “change”.
LOL, what did i type LOL
‘illegitimate’. Coffee fingers.
We move on, but not because we got answers. It’s kind of like fighting to put the fire out when my house is burning down, without knowing how the fire started.
I want to know when his name was legally changed from Barry soetoro to Barack Hussein Obama. no one can find any such document. Does anyone know if I can do a FOIA on this? I’d be willing to do so. If this guy never legally changed his name then nothing he has signed would be valid, correct?
There is no evidence that his name was changed or that he remewed his American citizenship.
Technically, Obama Soetoro is a citizen of Indonesia and a muslim.
Apparently that was not a birth certificate that was shown–but whatever–I want to know since he was an Indonesian citizen while living there–and apparently still was when he traveled to Pakistan–what citizenship does he hold now? Someone knows!!
We have an election coming up here on May 4…I have noticed that there are not many democratic signs this time around..in fact..I don’t think I have seen one..
Love Rev. Manning…he seems to be with it…and an African male not afraid to go after Obama.
I am very irritated that they closed the area in the vicinity of the White House because some protesters handcuffed themselves to the fence…and the LSM is reporting that this has NEVER happened before…BS!!
Also…it is a shame that more people cannot see (hopefully the people of Alaska will) that the Palin Alaska TV series is for Alaska..is she making money? Sure. However, the tourism money it could bring it will most likely outnumber anything she makes…and help the state she loves.
What is wrong with Sarah making money? And lots of it? She is a private citizen, paying her OWN LEGAL FEES, unlike someone else we know!
Amen. Since when is it a crime in the US to make money?
Since Obama and the D’s have control. According to the current administration the ONLY ones allowed to “make money” (oh, and by the way, NOT pay taxes) are the “ruling class” of democrats.
Not only her own legal fees, but she has to pay for her own security. And with all the crazies out there who are whipped into a hate frenzy against her, she needs major security which is not cheap.
On closing the White House fence – wasn’t John effing Kerry handcuffed to that fence at one time? Maybe no one has handcuffed to it during a DemoCom administration?
I don’t think Jon EFffing Carry was ever chained to the fence. (The cuffs would have slid off his patrician wrists anyway, doncha know).
Apparently, he DID throw somebody else’s war medals over the fence once, in a ‘protest’ over the Viet Nam war (read ‘future senate run campaign ad photo op’).
He served in VN, you know. /s
I would like to know if these Congress and Senators, don’t have to use this great health plan. Do the ones that are leaving Washington DC,will they then have to go with the f…up plan???
Technically – from last week’s news, Congress doesn’t have a health care plan right now. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/04/ooops_congress_loses_health_ca.html
But since we have heard nothing since last week – no vote to change the wording or anything, my guess is they’re just going along like the still don’t know that the law stripped them of their health care. As we know, Congress is famous in using the tactic that if you ignore something (like the public majority not wanting the law) it doesn’t exist.
Rep. Fleming from LA has an update on his website about this exact subject. I strongly recommend you check it out: http://fleming.house.gov/HRes615/
Thank you! I figured Congress would attempt to covertly fix the issue to their benefit.
Thanks jeannie, I did read it.
Good morning, Hillbuzz guys – have you seen this: http://hotair.com/archives/2010/04/20/blackout-police-chase-reporters-away-from-covering-protest-outside-white-house/
You can help get the story out. Why is Obama afraid to let people know about this story?
Personally, I wonder if he has made some kind of anti-gay promise to his Muslim friends, who, as you know, believe all gay people should be killed.
I’ve been trying to find an update on the repealing of DADT but can’t find the status. Does anyone know?
Do any of these “service men” know the prez personally? Me wonders if the white house does not want anyone to get a hold of the protester names — at least until they can scrub those names from the internet and get to their friends and relatives for a little talking-to
Too late. This link reveals the name of the protesters:
http://bigjournalism.com/bcarroll/2010/04/20/media-kept-well-away-as-obama-clashes-with-gays-and-lesbians-in-washington-l-a/
GREAT point – actually following through with abolishing DADT would destroy his imagined strides he’s made in making Muslim theocracies not hate us. All his apologizing and bowing will have gone to waste.
And as we saw in his snotty response to a protester at Boxer’s rally, he believes that by merely saying something should be done, it should be as good as actually doing it.
One of the reasons I think Hillbuzz will be so influential in the coming elections is because of the Gay issue with this President…no one can serve two masters…is he a traditional social liberal who wants everyone to have the same basic human rights? Or is a Muslim sympathizer?
He can’t have it both ways and he’s going to piss off one of these groups. My bet is that he will piss off the Gays before he pisses of the Muslims…mainly because the Gays are not as dangerous and aren’t going to influence his election with money and power like the Muslim community will do.
I hope the Gay community wakes up to his dishonesty in regards to his issues. They at least know where they stand with Evangelicals and Conservatives and can have a debate with them. I personally think that someone like Obama who lies to their face is much more offensive!
Boyz, what is the buzz in the gay blogosphere about this? Surely they are starting to see what we have all been seeing for a long time?
This story is on several sites. I was intrigued yesterday seeing it linked and published several places. I’m watching some kind of shift in POTUS coverage this week and wondering….wondering….wondering….if some of the MSM is in the process of figuring out if it’s time to save their own hides and cut loose from the fraud. I’m not assuming anything. Just watching…there have been several situations where they have broken the rules at the obama altar. What the exceptions basically amount to is “wait just a minute!” or “…that’s not what you said before” level of response.
I agree.
I was quite surprised to see PBS run that Frontline piece about Obama’s Deals.
Even better look up the video of “don’t ask, don’t tell”repeal supporters heckling him in L.A. Classic. He gets the now famous peevish face, and says “we’re working on it” yeah, right.
Someone forgot to give that message to Glibbsey, according to whom the plan has been put on ice:
http://ow.ly/1BqpV
(via Instapundit)
MoneyWAVE for Charles Djou in Hawaii today!
http://www.djouwave.com/
He’s AHEAD of both Dems for the special election in May. Let’s take a Hawaii seat to show them we are SERIOUS about this!
Also, did you hear, Obama’s FBI/DOJ is now investigating Rubio?
These people are DIRTY!
It’s actually the Republican committee in FL. Both candidates will be scrutinized. It’s also the IRS.
You beat me to it!
I was making my usual rounds on the news sites last night and I just got an overwhelming feeling that things are turning against Obama in a lot of different ways. I think this incident yesterday with the protesters has jolted some people in the media. Yes, there are some hard care liberal elitists in the MSM. But there are some people who stand firm with our freedom of the press and free speech laws. I think BO is crossing the line with them. I saw this with Carter. There was a point when the liberal media just threw their hands up and said “WTF?” and I swear last night I was seeing it. Everywhere I looked people were dissing Obama. I even have a few liberal friends on FB and they were dissing him. I really think the tide is going out on this guy.
The Barack balloon (he’s the latex President) has been pricked and the hot air is rushing out …
That incident was only the most recent.
This is from last week, but it shows his contempt for reporters:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/13/AR2010041303067.html?hpid=opinionsbox1
And it’s from the Washington Post. Not a conservative source.
Please don’t take this in the wrong way: I am NOT saying anything should- or will- happen to this president physically. I just want to point out something that – based on the way this president works- would not totally surprise me. JFK wasn’t all that popular before he was shot. Reagan also wasn’t all that popular- until he was shot. It would not surprise me one little bit if- prior to 2012- deliberately got himself shot and then “leaked” to the press that he almost died, and then – almost miraculously- come back to “life” and keep working as “such a dedicated president”. That would instantly boost his popularity.
Interesting theory, Karen.
However, I don’t think this guy would have the guts to do anything that would draw blood or cause physical pain (to himself).
He looks like the type who would faint at the sight of a drop of his own blood…or a mouse.
I guess the reason this even came into my head was hearing so many personal friends speculating as to whether O is the “Antichrist” or not. According to the Bible the Antichrist almost dies and miraculously “comes back to life” with a head wound, a disabled right arm, and an injured right eye. That kind of description, by the way, sounds very much like that of wounds from an explosion rather than a shooting. That kind of “assassination attempt” would fit in more with today’s methods of assassination than ever before. One more instance of something written in the Bible centuries ago that fit more in with “today” than when they were written. If, of course, that happened to O it would be a pretty good indication that he IS the Antichrist (based on the Bible). The other description of the Antichrist in the Bible is that of a little man who rose from obscurity to leadership who had a big, bragging, mouth, no known history, and charisma that somehow convinces multitudes of people.
I disagree respectfully about Ronald Reagan. Reagan was extremely popular when he got elected…people were so desperate about the hostage situation and how awful the economy was. The Iranians were so afraid of him they freed the hostages during his inauguration.
I do agree with JFK. I asked my mom years ago what she thought of JFK and she said “He wasn’t that big a deal until he got killed”. She called him the “Hollywood president”.
Thats very conspiratorial.
And wierdly enough in our “new world” its plausible. Don’t forget the inner city riots that would occur.
I fervantly desire and pray that nothing illegal happens to this POTUS, causing any physical harm to him or his family,
I’m not an expert on scripture. But from what I have gleaned biblical scholars do not think the anti-christ will be any American president. They think he will come from Europe. From what I have seen these people do not think Obama is the anti-christ.
It is scary to talk about. But I think it is more likely that Obama will lash out at Americans than any will lash out at him. He ridicules and belittles his dissenters. Going to the measures he is going to to limit the freedom of the press is a very bad sign. It is his way or no way.
We’re gonna vote this guy out. No doubt. He won’t get that powerful. You can’t just waltz into the WH and take over the entire country. We’re Americans…we were made for freedom. Literally.
Check this out:
Obama’s support is basically down to Blacks, Jews, and liberals according to this Q-poll:
http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/rubin/281566
makes one wonder why the 59% jewish approval. cant they see he’s an anti semite?
Those liberal Jews are liberal first, Jewish second. I have a very good Jewish friend and he is always defending dear leader. I don’t get it but hey that’s just me.
Ah, but it was 85% not too long ago. My Jewish friends and associates are all thumbs down on him right now. That isn’t to say that they won’t vote for him in 2012, but they are “kvetching” – a lot. Most are small business owners and retirees. All have said that they will be voting R this election to stop him from passing more “destructive” bills.
So, if they start a rush on cap and trade – and/or any kind of path-to-citizenship-amnesty, his numbers among this group will go down even more.
Yeah and when Israel gets wiped out by Syria or Iran then we can ask these “Jewish leaders” here in the U.S. how they feel about that…since they sat there and did NOTHING.
And maybe not even Jews for long – if this brand new site takes off:
http://jewsforsarah.com
Here’s a snippet from today:
“Your donation helps us to show Jewish support for Gov. Palin, and to get more and more American Jews onto the Palin bandwagon. We’re rollin’!”
I don’t watch TV anymore. Where were you seeing people !@#$ing about him?
It’s everywhere…the tide is turning…BO is starting to get the stinkeye from everybody.
BooHoo.
Even my daughter, age 12 noticed it today. During dinner, she asked me if Time Magazine was Republican. After almost choking on my food, I told her absolutely not and asked her why? She told me that it was ripping on Obama.
I have not seen the issue in question, so I don’t know what she was referring to.
I think that Palin will always cause a fair chunk of the populace to run the other way – and that’s a good thing. She has said herself that you can’t win them all – and the ones that insist she’s stupid etc etc are quite frankly not worth the effort.
But I think it’s a fun idea to make fun of divise and derisive terms used by leftists – anything that get’s them batty is a good thing.
And thanks for the effort you guys put in – I have no idea how you sustain it but am pleased you do
I saw a clip from Larry King where he was speaking with George Lopez and he asked him about Sarah Palin and Lopez said that if she became president he would go back to Mexico and the rest of Mexicans would also.
I guess he is really not that smart, a comment like that would give her a few million votes from the people who are tired of illegal immigration.
BTW, Larry King stated that his producers say that he has to mention Sarah Palin every day. I did wonder why he was always mentioning her.
The word polarizing, refers to magnetic fields. Thus words that are related to polarizing would be magnetic, electric, conductive, attractive, and forceful, flowing, energetic . Hey, I, just got up, and my mind is still foggy.
This is a perfect ad/commercial! Have news people or politicians describing Sarah as “Polarizing”; then have a spelling bee kid say the word and, “definition, please”. Next all would be read of with a subtle visual of each description while the moderator is saying them.
Boyz, you are working for Sarah, whether you know yet or not that she has hired you, so get working on this.
motley, I LOVE the spelling bee scenario.
Definition, please: “cause to concentrate about two conflicting or contrasting positions”
Use in a sentence, please: “The over-taxing of hard-working people to support able-bodied ones who refuse to work is a polarizing policy”.
Another example, please: “Some say that resisting the establishment old-school status quo by injecting fresh, modern ideas is polarizing.”
There are tons of places this could go, with Sarah’s face superimposed, with punchy facts in ‘bullet form’ on her fiscal record in AK.
Definitely has possibilities!
LOVE IT
Positive Polarizing Force
wow! If that is your mind all foggy, I am almost afraid to be around it when you consider it sharp.
Those adjectives absolutely describe her.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJbFakyh7XA&feature=player_embedded
Have to run out and do errands very soon. Blech.
But what is on my mind is how old I am , how awesome my daughter is and how she really has no clue how much we are alike. Last week was the school musical and I went and as I sat there watching her and her fellow classmates I was rememebering my high school days and our musical. hehehehe. I guess this is where sappy music would start in the background if it were a tv show. Willie Wonka rocks.
More generally in my area the tea party movement is getting traction. They even made it into the freebie weekly paper
http://sherandotimes.wordpress.com/
April 7- 13th edition. So it is bubbling and stewing if it made the press here.
I hope everyone has a great day.
You have a great day too!!!
I took a look at the article and was tickled to see that one of the local organizers considers herself a democrat. Say goodbye to those Jacksonian democrats, DNC.
On my mind today is our service personnel and their families. We still have 2 wars going on and casualties. I do remember Obama making one visit to meet a flight home of casualties. Bush used to keep these quiet so maybe Obama does the same but I am skeptical. What have the rest of you heard about this? When has he met with service families? Maybe he could forgo a round of golf.
Wasn’t that just a photo op? I know the military doesn’t like it when they televise that. It’s a very personal thing and it’s just not right to use it as a photo op. My friend always gets upset when that happens.
Did you hear about the crank calls in Vermont? Some female (or female sounding) is calling military families at night telling them their family member has been killed in combat. Can you think if anything more immoral than that?
Sick!
On a similar vein – same topic, I was telling one of my best friends (who is a massive Dr. U believer) that my daughter’s boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend, both in Special Forces, are being deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq (respectively) again in August. Her response was “I thought we were getting out of those places?”
It occurred to me that many people who supported U are not bothering to pay that much attention to what has gone on since he came to power, but are simply assuming he’s doing what he said he was going to do during the election.
I had so many things I wanted to say, but cannot and still keep my friend. And besides her blind support of U, she is a terrific friend.
Here’s an idea on the polar bear front . . . Sarah Palin . . . the Polar Bear Mom Who Wants to Protect America from Obama’s Hope-and-Change Socialism! The image I have in my mind is of a mama bear protecting her young from poachers.
Don’t know if that works or not. Just an image to consider.
I like it. I can tell people, “What do you mean she’s polarizing? She’s not Polar-IZING, she’s a Polar BEAR!” rawr
No Hillary-Dissing Here! Rush Limbaugh likes to play a clip of Hillary hollering about how very American and patriotic it is for us to exercise our right to speak out and question any Administration. And Hillary is right.
Mind you, at the time she said this, I did not like it because I supported Bush and the Iraq effort. But like it or not, Hillary was right.
Can we use this clip more and more against the likes of Obama?
You Betcha, we can!!!
I told DH the other day when Rush played that that I wish it would be played every single day from here forward.
First the Obots came for the Jews…but I wasn’t a Jew…
Then they came for the Gays…but I wasn’t Gay…
Two fascinating topics upthread blend seamlessly on Obama.
We know the storybook, Ayers as Tiger Beat political writer version of his life…but no “papertrail” as to how he fiananced his education; what his grades were; what countries he visited. Its an enigma wrapped in a riddle.
Then we have his actions. Abject malevolence towards Israel and blatant lies to Gays (DADT).
Now…if one grew up in Islam, and had their education financed by well off Muslims, where would your loyalties lie? With Jews and Gays who voted for you? Or with forces that brought you to the ‘vote’ in the first place. The ROP hates both groups…coincidence, huh?
Because of the dismissing of the ‘Stockholm Syndromed’ lames stream media…I have read conflicting reports that it was either 4 or 6 protesters who hand cuffed themselves to White House fencing. Why keep the press away from a small Gay rights protest?
I always remember the stunned reaction I had to Barky’s waxing philosophical on the “loveliest sound on earth…”
To him, it was the Muslim call to evening prayers. Huh? For the father of two, it wasn’t his newborn’s first cries or even a piece of music. Nope. It was a Muslim wail.
The Arizona bill, the Lakin Court Martial, the Rev. Manning (whose Atlah Ministries is awesom) v. Columbia…its all like a thousand little papercuts…one or two might fester into something much bigger.
I think maybe the prez does not want the names of the protesters known…..meaning one of them “knows” him.
I posted, up-thread, the link with the names.
Loveliest sounds on the face of the earth include the song of the Western Meadowlark.
I love the sound of children playing outside and birdsong. Makes me feel that life is good.
Hillbuzz—Here are some pic for you. Enjoy!!!
Sarah Palin spent several hours at Pamper Me Please in East Peoria last Saturday before her speaking appearance in Washington, as well as appreciation for some Alaskan coffee provide by Embassy Suites during her recent visit to the area.
http://www.pjstar.com/photos/x43863476/Touched-by-Palin?page=0
Notice all the smiles around her? Whatever Sarah hopes to do in her life is fine for me. It’s just simply great to see someone so upbeat and also unapologetic about being conservative. We invite into our life, what we choose to emanate and she certainly is someone to watch, regardless of what path she chooses.
Great Pics. Now that’s how to stimulate the economy. It’s people spending their money with the businesses that they want to.
I love how regular American she looks here. Can you imagine Piglosi and the likes mingling with “common” American citizens?
This is EXACTLY what the Left hates about her and hates about the rest of us: the regular, average American person.
Pink Slip Termination of Employment Day is coming November 2, 2010.
Dems are making reconciliation the rule:
http://weaselzippers.us/2010/04/20/unreal-senate-dems-budget-resolution-allows-use-of-reconciliation-to-pass-jobs-bill-cap-and-trade/
They will force the rest of their agenda upon us, as they did health care.
They’re just nailing the coffin shut. To ram their BS thru against the will of the people before November is just going to doom the Democrats. Either they’re too stupid to know this or they are living in a fantasy world created by Pelosi and Reid. The blunt arrogance is just unbelievable.
And abuse upon abuse of Congressional procedures will merely facilitate the work of the 2013 Congress to repeal and annul all this legislation, regardless of whether the ‘Pubs have at least sixty Senators by then or not. If the donkeys want to play by these rules now, they will have to live with them later on, too.
Come January 2013 it will help to have the (S)POTUS assisted by a VP and President of the Senate as rock-ribbed and stiff-spined as she herself is …
The few Senators who went along with the second cloture vote in December despite all the irregularities and abuses of the Senate’s own procedures, and who thus put us on this increasingly lawless path — above all Sen. Lieberman — ought to have known and done better. His failure will only be magnified in the course of events, and it will not be an easy legacy to live with.
I’m sure they know what’s coming in November, but they don’t care.
By then their agenda will be passed and we will be stuck with it.
Arrogance indeed!
They don’t care what is coming in November because, to them most likely, we are delusional and they have no intention of going anywhere, even if voted out!
Can’t get rid of the thought that they are up to something no matter what happens in November. I just can’t see them letting go of the power simply because of our ‘inconvenient’ voting rules and the Constitution.
I still believe that they don’t care because A) they figure the voters will only punish them for a relatively short period of time and not to extremes – ie they’ll be the minority party but not by a LOT and not for decades rather 5-10 and B) the republicans have not shown any backbone in the past to use “nuclear” type of tactics to advance their cause. These two combined I believe have them think that even if they do lose, the republicans won’t do anything substantial in the interim before they get back in control.
5-10 YEARS that is. — long day.
And dem rep. John Dingell says “Americans don’t know who they are afraid of.”
http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2010/04/john-dingell-american-people-are-afraid-frustrated-dont-know-who-theyre-afraid-of-video/
Sure we do, and we know who we are angry with too.
boyz,
FYI…
First time I’ve heard of this group:
http://www.pinkpistols.org/index2.html
And yes, they already have a Chicagoland chapter.
here’s their Wiki description:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink_Pistols
Please don’t take this shit from these punks from the southside lying down. It’s spring now, but the 85 degree, humid summer nights of the midwest are right around the corner. And we worry about you guys.
Think of it as an opportunity to meet some fresh faces!
Everyone:
Did you catch that nasty column in the NY Times, completely smearing the Dallas Tea Party, and its minority attendants. (The nerve of these “minorities” attending a Tea Party! How dare they screw up the liberal narrative! It makes it harder for us to cry racism!!) One of them has an absolutely great rebuttal, and eviserates Charles Blow.
http://bigjournalism.com/arachel/2010/04/20/the-blow-back/
It’s a must see!
I wrote him an email and told him he was racist. His whole article was about how there weren’t any black people and the black speakers are the event were “fake”. HE is the one who is racist. If 95% of the black population voted for Obama WHY would he expect them to show up in support of the Tea Party? I asked him, why did the entire black population vote for Obama? Was that racist? What a jerk. Laura Ingraham had him on her show and she made him look like an idiot.
Bev,
I did you one better, lady. Last month when he whipped out one of his racist columns I emailed him the following:
“I’m not racist, Mr. Blow. I think his white side sucks, too.”
LOL
That’s how I answer all the racists, now. heh
LOL Good one.
I’m just going to steal that–Thank You!!
Zo-bama fights back:
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/04/21/video-noted-minstrel-show-performer-responds-to-nyt-smear-merchant/
I watched that this morning. It was hilarious!
Zo is always right on and can be found often on Breitbart’s site. He is on PJTV site, too.
Just my two cents on the Sarah Palin idea. I was thinking about Joe Biden. If he were Republican he would have been Dan Quayled a long time ago. So how does the media keep him from being “polarized”? Humor. They make fun of him and blow it off as just a joke. Sarah uses a lot of humor to blow off a lot of her critics. We should come up with some funny quips about the things people jaz her about. Like, I love the sign a tea party person had “I can see November from my house”. Somebody mentioned once that Sarah should go on SNL and impersonate Tina Fey. (Personally the other night I thought Tina Fey fell really flat…she’s not as pretty as Sarah and it was painfully obvious I thought). I think humor would be a good way to reach people and diffuse the negative criticism.
I live a couple of thousand miles from Chicago, nevertheless I find its politics utterly fascinating. Here’s an installment on Rahmbo’s quest to be da mayor.

I posted these late yesterday, so just in case anyone missed them, here are some portraits (found via Neo-Neocon) of some of our politicians and public figures from their young years. There are some gems among them (for better or for worse):

I love this post…the pictures are just hilarious. John Kerry….too funny. And the picture of Michelle is terrifying.
I thought Michelle was #2 after Kerry.
who’s the big guy on the Munsters? kerry looks like him, michele just looks like herself, pretty awful?
hillary looks great, bill not so great!
Herman Munster? Either Herman or Lurch.
Anderson Cooper is a strange one, isn’t he?
http://www.pollsb.com/photos/o/206278-jimmy_carter.jpg
Scary…
Then or now?
He looked like a scold even back then…
A scold or real bad photography?
Rumsfeld and Cheney, were, dare I say, kind of yummy in their youth?
So was Biden.
I know, funny thing that — the same with Nancy D’Alessandro Pelosi. Ages ago they actually looked good …
Yeah, I think Bill Clinton looks much better NOW though.
Honestly, I thought Joe Biden was the most handsome. I truly hate saying it but he was.
My friend thinks Biden looks like McSteamy from Grey’s. I can see it a bit. It’s in the eyes or something.
Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bien were all yummy. I think maybe I should look up my yearbook picture and after I see it, I will probably make an appointment with a plastic surgeon. LOL
Biden not Bien. I really should proofread before I submit.
this is what I was thinking about yesterday.
You would think the MSM would finally start to see the light with THIS, as Mao and every thug running the 3rd world Central American countries (Castro, Chavez, etc) are their freaking heroes. I mean, if you idolize someone like them, wouldn’t it stand to reason you know everything about them, from their favorite colors, meal, past times to the methods and steps taken to instill their regimes? Is this the start? Should the press be saying “holy SH!T- I’ve seen this somewhere else before…” Or will they gleefully comply with teh One’s wishes and swallow the key to their own cages they’ve locked themselves in, desperate to be a favored pet?

not sure where to put this, so i put it in the website box, and in this box- it’s not my website tho.
As Obama’s policies become more unpopular, do you think he’ll still have the cover to hide his college records and “professorial” background? Perhaps, his overall popularity will have to start coming down more first.
yeah, there must be somebody somewhere ready to sell something that’s sealed. That would very helpful, would it not?
My Hubby and I believe that Israeli intelligence might have the goods on obama and are waiting for the right time to release the info.
That’s an interesting thought. The KGB would love that kinda info…uhhh I mean Russia.
Interesting, Dora…
It would have been in their interest to gather every snippet of information possible on a man who no one knew anything about suddenly roaring into the presidency. With the 20 years at a “church” with a pastor that preached hatred and lionized Farakahn, and with his original upbringing in Indonesia with a Muslim birth father and then adopted father; and then the rumors of who championed him for Harvard and paid for the whole load…
Yes, it would have been in their vital interest to know who he is and what he believes. The question is… how would they have gotten that information when no one else could?
Hmmmmmmm.
Israel does not play…I’m tellin’ ya. You’d be amazed how much their military is involved in stuff that nobody knows about.
Well, lets pray they know how to use whatever info they have and soon!! Because this guy is trying to tear the country apart with his arrogance and his aggitating personality.
Maybe they would wait to see if we can right ourselves in November and they think they won’t have to use it.
I just want to see his citizenship papers.
Go over to http://www.gatewaypundit.firstthings.com and see the video of Rahm on TV, farting!
Yes he did!
Disgusting little man!
If the mayorship of Chicago doesn’t work out for him, he can always petition Oprah to succeed her as a television host.
Larry King and Rahm would sound like an oompah band if they ever appear together. Old Larry is known for clearing the studio with his noxious, Okra-style futzes. I hear, he doesn’t apologize for his lousy manners, either.
What is on my mind today? How incredibly alive the book of Psalms seems to me in recent days. I have been working on reading the entire book and this was my reading for the day. I hope it might provide peace, comfort and encouragement for someone else. It’s a little long to post, but there wasn’t any part of it that I felt I could edit out.
Psalms 27
By David.
27:1 The Lord delivers and vindicates me!
I fear no one!
The Lord protects my life!
I am afraid of no one!
27:2 When evil men attack me
to devour my flesh,
when my adversaries and enemies attack me,
they stumble and fall.
27:3 Even when an army is deployed against me,
I do not fear.
Even when war is imminent,
I remain confident.
27:4 I have asked the Lord for one thing –
this is what I desire!
I want to live in the Lord’s house all the days of my life,
so I can gaze at the splendor of the Lord
and contemplate in his temple.
27:5 He will surely give me shelter in the day of danger;
he will hide me in his home;
he will place me on an inaccessible rocky summit.
27:6 Now I will triumph
over my enemies who surround me!
I will offer sacrifices in his dwelling place and shout for joy!
I will sing praises to the Lord!
27:7 Hear me, O Lord, when I cry out!
Have mercy on me and answer me!
27:8 My heart tells me to pray to you,
and I do pray to you, O Lord.
27:9 Do not reject me!
Do not push your servant away in anger!
You are my deliverer!
Do not forsake or abandon me,
O God who vindicates me!
27:10 Even if my father and mother abandoned me, the Lord would take me in.
27:11 Teach me how you want me to live;
lead me along a level path because of those who wait to ambush me!
27:12 Do not turn me over to my enemies,
for false witnesses who want to destroy me testify against me.
27:13 Where would I be if I did not believe I would experience the Lord’s favor in the land of the living?
27:14 Rely on the Lord!
Be strong and confident!
Rely on the Lord!

Thank you for posting this MusicMom
Yes. I’ve been memorizing many verses from the Psalms recently. It helps save my sanity and deal with the fear and anger that rises up so easily. Thanks.
During the 2008 campaign, Sarah Palin asked her prayer warriors to pray this psalm for her.
Don’t know if you can see this from Team Sarah, but here’s the original request:

What’s on my mind today – my youngest son who was such a trial during his teenage years has just created and is marketing his own hot sauce – Senor Shan’s Hot Sauce. I am so proud of him and his entrepreneurial spirit.
Hey that’s wonderful Lupina! I will look out for it.
Well it will start local & we’re in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He’s beginning to understand a lot about taxes, regulations, restrictions, funding, the FDA, labeling, licensing, etc. I’ll update everyone on his website when he gets further along. Thanks for your happy thoughts.
Hey! I’m just west of you…I want some of that hot sauce!
Best of luck to him! You must be very proud.
I’m proud of him and his wife and I just enjoy all the good will & support in these posts.

Its such a nice repudiation of the left’s sudden call for civility.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has issued a stay on the December 2009 injunction by Clinton-appointed Judge Nina Gershon that declared the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) funding ban was unconstitutional.
The result of the stay is that the Congressional funding ban will go back into effect, and ACORN will not receive taxpayer dollars while the court reviews the case.

I thought they were broken up anyway. Yes, yes, to reemerge as CORNA or ROCNA or whatever.
Hooray!! A court got something right. Clinton got dozens of liberal judges in place. President Bush, very few, because of congressional democrats. I hold my breath each time there is a decision coming. It is like holding the Maginot Line. Pray.
is this really going to happen?

Unfortunately, they are 2 years too late. I hope it passes though, and every state in the union follows suit.
“Phoenix Democratic Rep. Kyrsten Sinema said the bill is one of several measures that are making Arizona “the laughing stock of the nation.
From where I stand, Arizona is leading the nation in the right direction: Clamping down on illegals invading the country, mandating that all Presidential candidates prove that they have the Constitutional right to run for office.
Works for me.
I just read this 67 page article on Obama’s use of hypnotism in his speeches and behavior. I’m not 100% sure I buy it, but it was certainly interesting. The first section is a little repetitive, but once it gets going, it’s pretty fascinating.
http://www.pennypresslv.com/Obama%27s_Use_of_Hidden_Hypnosis_techniques_in_His_Speeches.pdf
That’s assuming the One has power over you, which he does not!!!!
Not as long as we can get our hands on the remote.
Shortly after I visited that link, my email account got a worm and started sending out spam messages. Correlation doesn’t equal causation, of course, but I’m just sayin’….
Yeah, I’ve been hypnotized alright. Into cringing every time I hear his voice or see his face.
Looky here, the teachers union are ticked off, b/c Christie has the audacity to ask for a wage freeze on teacher pay. I thought we were ALL entitled to pay raises! What an outrage!
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/NJ-teachers-ratchet-up-the-vitriol-on-Gov-Chris-Christie-91699179.html
I’m proud to say that the voters of NJ are still so angry about the spending of the federal, state, county, and municipal governments that they came out in droves [largest showing of voters for school board elections since 1976] to vote AGAINST most of the districts budgets, which were labled as “tax levies” on the ballot. A majority of districts’ budgets were voted down. In addition, many of those school boards were voted out. Whoops! The law of unintended consequences.
In my district the budget was voted down 65 to 35! The teacher’s union guys were there handing out flyers against NJ law on “electioneering”. I told them they had to be at least 200 feet away and took out my cell phone. Then I walked inside to tell the election judges what they were doing. When the election judges came out, the union guys walked a distance away with their flyers. The left just does not believe any rules apply to them.
The anger toward our governor from those in the government unions is palpable. What those people don’t understand that the anger from the NJ middle class, tea partiers and others, who are just exhausted from throwing money at problems that never go away and never get fixed [like spending $22,000 per student in the city of Newark and only 1/3 of the students graduate from high school] is just as strong.
As long as the unions keep whining, fighting, threatening – it will keep the citizens who are the number one overtaxed group in the USA angry enough to keep coming out in elections to vote AGAINST them, and anyone who supports them or who they support. Royal Blue NJ is, for the time being, voting with their heads and their pocketbooks. I hope this last through November.
Here’s a great way to celebrate life and earth day.

I am so excited today! We have tickets to see Sarah Palin at Denver University on May 22! In case any of you are in the Denver area, you can purchase tickets through ticket master. Funny how none of the news channels have mentioned her visit. I saw a “tiny” paragraph in the middle of the Denver Post, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have known she was coming to Denver. I hope karma pays those media peeps a visit real soon. They are really a joke.
While the BO administration is denying that they knew about the SEC and Goldman Sachs, they are buying the search term.
http://www.breitbart.tv/rush-obama-buys-sec-goldman-sachs-google-search-terms/
This is beyond sick.
I’m sure that is with our money, too!
What’s on my mind? That volcano in Iceland no one can pronounce. If it finally decides to go “BANG” it has the potential to wipe out the European economy which is struggling back from the brink. (Not good for us either.)
The other thing on my mind is when the hell are we gonna get serious with that jerk in Iran?
Other than that, I’m good. Just looking forward to the Republican primaries here in Florida.
I think this volcano is God’s sense of humor. He’s saying, “You earthlings think you are so powerful that you think you can control the climate. I’ll show you who controls the climate.”
Also, Rush was mentioning yesterday how happy the environmentalists should be i.e. Look at how much jet fuel has been saved and how much less of a carbon footprint Europe has had this last week. They should be celebrating this.
I believe wholeheartedly in protecting the environment. However, no planes in the sky means that economies will crash. Not to mention, if the little one, Katla, goes off, it will make Krakatoa [and "the year without a summer"] look small in comparison. Agriculture will suffer, weather patterns will change, and what food there is, may not be able to get to its destination in this hemisphere.
As to God’s sense of humor, YEAH! I know. She’s wicked with that cosmic sarcasm.
The dust has a cooling effect.
They have a close watch on Mt. Redoubt in Alaska also. It might show Al a thing or two.
Just asking if anyone’s noticed an uptick in local news about “threats” made against liberal politicians?
KTVU Channel 2 in the Bay Area started off their 10pm newscast last night with a story about a San Francisco State Senator who was complaining about threats and hateful messages because he’d involved himself in the Sarah Palin speaking contract nonsense. They played some of the “threats” and they sounded like, “I don’t like you, butt out of something that doesn’t concern you.” But oh my! How they carried on about how hateful and horrible it all was.
Heck, I’ve known teachers who’ve gotten worse threats from their students. What big babies!
Not only did they play that crap, they then went on to quote Bill Clinton’s nonsense about how our free speech is going to cause violence.
I emailed them,(again!), that I was glad they’d received their Obama Administration and DNC talking points. How can they think we can take anything they say seriously? It’s just so obvious that they must think we’re morons.
The libs out here are in such a tizzy because Sarah Palin requested bendy straws and a decent hotel. Duh! I used to book bands and even third tier ones had riders that went on for pages. Sounds like a pretty standard speaking contract to me. Big Whoop!
I know. Rush has been getting death threats for years and look at what the Boyz get. Liberals can dish it out, but they can’t take it. Big babies indeed.
I agree with you all on this one. The lib’s are feeling the pressure of the Tea Party movement no doubt’ and I say oh’ to bad! What do bully’s do when they feel threaten? that’s right– cry wolf!!!
If they only knew how “desperate” they really sound! lol,,,
BoooHooo
On the surface it looks like Liberals being babies. But we all know, and they all know, that threats come with the territory they tread. What they are doing now is an intentional concerted effort to make it look like Tea Party people, talk radio and basically anyone that disagrees with the current administration is dangerous. It is something they can do because they have the support of the State Run Media. They had this planned out long before they passed the Health Crime Bill. They’ve just been waiting for the best time to use and and they figured it was now.
I don’t doubt what you’re saying at all. I’m sure this sudden interest in nasty messages is calculated. I suspect that this guy would receive much worse messages if he got caught having a ateak on Monday, (but that would never be reported!).
What bothers me the most is how the press keeps putting it out there that we’re all a bunch of crazed loons that are going to say mean things to them and might possibly hurt them.
But they NEVER report the violence their side engages in. Not once did they mention the Kenneth Gladney beating, the guy who got his finger bit off, or the Jindal worker who got beaten to a pulp. There was a man who was beaten at an SEIU meeting in Sacramento …not a word! Not to mention all of the other violent acts the left has either done or encouraged over the years.
Can you imagine if any of these acts had been committed by a Tea Party member? We’d never hear the end of it!
Fortunately we have the Internet and just about everybody and their dog has some type of camera so people can record what’s going on.
Iran boosts troop numbers in Venezuela: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/apr/21/iran-boosts-qods-shock-troops-in-venezuela/
But dangerous working moms, dads & cousins who oppose big gov are the danger.
It reminds me a bit of Cuba sending forces to Mozambique and Angola decades ago …
I’d give them something to worry about and blockade their harbor. Let em declare war.
I saw the original movie. Donald Pleasance rocks.
Here’s my favorite definition of polarize:
“To cause the electrical and magnetic fields associated with electromagnetic waves, especially light, to vibrate in a particular direction or path.”
I also like the “magnetic” meaning of the word because it can be used in a positive way.
The Hillbuzz guys like “polar-ICING” but I don’t get that or know how to use it.
“Liberal agenda left you feeling bruised? Sarah Palin can help, she’s polar-icing”.

Campaign contributions from Goldman Sachs employees to President Obama are nearly seven times as much as President Bush received from Enron workers, according to numbers on OpenSecrets.org….
….Obama’s $1,007,370.85 (inflation adjusted) from Goldman-affiliated executives and employees….

I agree wholeheartedly with Mr. Goodwin.
Saw in the comments where someone was bringing eggs. They better be careful or they’ll end up getting shot. GWB came down my street at the office several times after katrina. They set up snipers all over the place.

Some of us were talking about the new conservative cable network the other day.
Here is an article about who is behind it and why:

p.s.
I am so glad to see this coming. The Progressives have had insidious control of ‘the message’ for so long [through media and public education] that it has slowly brainwashed generations. It is passed time it was countered.
The internet sites and talk radio are coming on strong, and now cable and Hollywood are starting to show signs. I believe Sarah is the ‘shot heard round the world’ that is giving confidence for many to stand for what they believe against the Progressive machine.
ona lighter note, lets get to this lurid story about larry king! looks like they both were “screwin around”..

Does anyone know his daughter’s name? Is she the only child before this marrage? (Curious.)
What do y’all think about this business with Lindsey Graham?
He’s a dweeb. He’s what McCain used to be…lol. I don’t know what the heck he’s trying to do but he needs to stop it. We do not have to “compromise” with the Democrats. They don’t deserve compromise. They need to get the hell out of my government.
I agree with Bev. Since McCain is running for re-election, he can’t be his “Maverick” self, so now Graham has taken over this title. Way to go!
I just had a nice long chat with my son who is 21. We started talking politics and I asked him what people his age are saying. He said overwhelmingly they are not happy with obama…think he’s a marxist…and want him out. I felt good about that. He wouldn’t just say that because he knows I’m conservative. He brought up most of the issues we talk about here. Good to see there’s a definite swing in the momentum.
Did you guys see where the Geico guy got fired for calling tea party people mentally retarded?
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/right-now/2010/04/geico_voice_actor_fired_after.html
I posted this on another thread but I wanted everyone to see it. What a jerk. I’m glad he got fired. I tried to call Geico but the number Breitbart published got disconnected…lol.
Yeah, just saw that over at hillaryis44.
Thanks for sharing the discussion you had with your son. Primary elections are soon, last night I saw a lot of young students at an event and they were campaigning for their conservative candidate…good stuff!
There were young people demonstrating against Dr. Utopia outside the Boxer fundraiser the other evening chanting, “We are not your ATM.”
A wonderfully snarky article related to Me-chelle’s “Let’s Move” campaign. Fat Heads, indeed.

Looks like a few LGBT folks are getting a little “weewee’d” up at teh won:
http://pumaeyes.wordpress.com/2010/04/20/barack-obama-you-are-a-homophobe/
I want to say this. If anyone has any information to the contrary, please post it up.
Right next to our office is an Americorp YouthBuilder office. I have always thought that youth national service programs were a great idea BEFORE teh won came up with the idea of politicizing them or turning them into his own brownshirts.
BUT, the Americorp office next to ours takes kids who have been court ordered to do community service, and teach them skills that, in a normal economy, would land them a job. I’ve talked to these kids while I go out for a smoke break and I have to say they are generally very respectful, appreciate any attention you give them, and friendly. If they’re not court ordered, they also get paid for their time in school.
I realize its a give away program, but it ONE that I think probably really pays off in the long run by training these kids. I’m unaware of any indoctrination going on there. If anyone knows of anything commie about this operation, please post it up. I’ll keep ears and eyes open.
Why don’t you see if you can engage them a bit more and see if you can glean any indoctrination? You could be a nice balance for those kids.

I do not like it Uncle Sam, I do not like it Sam I am. I do not like these dirty crooks, Neither how they cook the books. I do not like when Congress steals, I do not like their secret deals. I do not like the speaker Nan, I do not like this ‘YES WE CAN’. I do not like this kind of hope, I do not like it, nope, nope, nope!…
Very good!
You know, I’m seeing a lot of humor today. I think it’s a sign of things coming. You know, when the comedians start taking shots at the president and the Dems…when you start seeing things like this. I saw a sign that said “I’m not a bigot but I play one on MSNBC”. That’s the ticket! You can win over a lot more people with humor like this than with anger I think. I love the days when HB posts funny stuff…like the Michelle fashion critiques or the Rahm Emanuel jokes…It’s definitely a momentum changer.
Nice one!
Sorry to double post – can I steal this for my fb page?
Absolutely =)
Bev (applause)…and I too am going to put it on my FB page
Bev, did you write this? It’s perfect! It’s also the funniest thing I read today.
You are so right about the humor. I once saw an ad for a local politician that was a cartoon about the arrogance of the candidate, everywhere he went, he had a posse with him and you couldn’t see him for all the security guards, hangers on, lobbyists et al. The narrator would say: And here’s Sheriff so and so stopping at the dry cleaners – a limo would pull up and like clowns in a Volkswagen, people would fall out, surround the candidate and yap yap yap into the dry cleaners. It made an impression because I have never forgotten it.
I always thought that using humor to “attack” an opponent or a really bad idea is the right way to go. [Unless it's raunchy or mean].
The Hillbuzz boyz could start an agency with the creative talent on this site, along with their own genius. Researchers, lyric writers, graphic mavens, and inspiration from general ideas that pop up.
Actually, I stole it from a friend on Facebook…so I can’t take credit for writing it. But I do take credit for spreading it =)
I think it’s a sign of the tide turning. The comedians are one of the first to start taking shots at the President and the government and they do that because they know they’ll get a laugh because they know what they’re saying has truth to it.
This president is doing so many outrageous things…Who can take him seriously anymore? He is just a mockery of the office. He can’t even take his OWN SUPPORTERS giving him jazz about a promise he made to THEM. What a dope. I enjoy watching him get mad. I say More! More! More!
Have you notice that fury seems to be the only honest expression of feeling he has and he has such dead eyes.

I still like the idea of using “polarizing”
as “zapping.”
I could just hear Sarah say: “We are going to zap this and that. We are going to clean up Washington. We are going to zap government waste. We are going to zap tax increases. etc.”
I love reading the signs the Tea Parties across the country show. One that made me chuckle:
“I CAN SEE NOVEMBER FROM MY HOUSE”!
I made it into a bumper sticker immediately. I get the thumbs up all day long and I’m in Broward County Florida.

Here’s a funny, funny pop-up video done by soon-to-be Speaker Boehner….good stuff.
I’m all for the humor.
Thanks, Bev. That’s good. Hopefully people will do even more things like that.
I have so many things on my mind lately. However,I am keeping an eye on Obama’s recent meeting with Supreme Court nominees. I saw that Judge Ann Claire Williams, Boyz’ favorite choice for SC, is on the list and Obama had considered her for SC position before it went to Sotomayor.

Anyone catch Rush today? I just happened to catch RUSH reading a post of Professor Jacobson on the Goldman Sachs fiasco. . .he was in high praise of the professor’s piece. I also thought it was well written and poignant.
http://legalinsurrection.blogspot.com/2010/04/now-they-are-coming-for-goldman-sachs.html
I liked the professor’s piece on Chuck U. Screwmer, “Senator Hedge Fund” better. Some great links.
Screwmer is so beatable. Where is the NRSC? Take this dork down now before we are stuck with him taking over Harry Reid’s job.
