Thursday Open Thread
It’s been a very busy few days around here — and there a lot of things we’ve been working on that are interesting, but life is getting in the way at the moment. Today we’re doing a thank-you events for our troops through the USO, which we are very excited about, and which we’ll report on later. A very busy, but good, week indeed.
We are still so surprised that we keep receiving hundreds of nasty remarks in comments each day because we said Dick Cheney was a Vice President who worked to keep this country safe, while Joe Biden isn’t, and that Biden in fact makes things worse more often than not.
How is that not true?
Biden’s now out causing panic with this swine flu nonsense — telling people he “would stay away from planes and trains”.
Is this a deliberate attempt by the White House to stoke more fear into people to further harm the economy? We doubt that, as this particular White House is not that organized or competent. It’s just more of Biden being Biden, with reality and common sense never getting in his way.
Like we said on Monday, say what you want about Dick Cheney, but the man never did things like this. Whenever Cheney said anything odd that made headlines there was a well-coreographed reason behind it, and it was a small part in some larger master plan he concocted in a secure undisclosed location somewhere. Joe Biden, on the other hand, just says the first thing to come into his head at that particular moment in time, not realizing that telling people to stay away from planes and trains, just days after the White House terrorized New Yorkers with a 9/11 re-enactment for a low-flying jetliner photo op, is probably an incredibly irresponsible and terrible idea.
Or maybe Biden really does know what he is doing, and he’s just a genius operating on a level so far above the rest of us his brilliance can only come off as madness.
What do you think? What else is on your mind today?

Thursday Open Thread? Or did I lose a day? Ha!
Fox News this morning had a blurb about our border guards not being allowed to wear surgical masks!!
Dept. of Homeland Security says they would be “intimidating” to folks crossing.
Swine flu be damned, I guess. . . .
Yeah, but surgical masks not going to prevent inhaling airborne infectious agents:
Surgical masks are not designed or certified to prevent the inhalation of small airborne contaminants. These small airborne contaminants are too little to see with the naked eye but may still be capable of causing infection.
Scroll down a bit in this University of Memphis web page on the subject.
Every day is like a bad, unfunny sitcom.
Biden’s an embarassment and a bad joke. Only good thing about him being Veep is that he’s out of the Senate, and hopefully halfway to the Irrelevant Old Phart’s Home.
It’s Thursday guys. Wake up and get your coffee!
As a military wife, I just want to say thanks for the work you will be doing with USO. My husband has deployed twice and he would always tell me about events and things the USO had for them overseas. The second time he deployed, I was able to go to the USO with him at the airport. It was so great to see people taking time out of their day to be there for the troops. Being a military is a tough thing these days, and we need all the help and support we can get (especially since January 20.)
So again, thanks.
On the swine flu note, a baby died in my state (Texas) after crossing the border from Mexico. Am I stupid to think that had we controlled the whole illegal immigration thing a long time ago, Houston doctors would not have been exposed to this outbreak? Ugh.
Hello, Fellow Texan Leigh. Are your schools closed? Ours are until May 11.
Where I live, no. I live on a street with two schools and they are both open.
A report says there are 27 cases in TX. They just cancelled Ft. Worth Mayfest! Argh! Please tell hubby “thanks” for keeping us safe. Bless you both.
A Wednesday open thread on Thursday, and I’m off tomorrow so today’s my Friday. I’m so confused!

BILL RICHARDSON??? Wonder what’s up with THAT?
Great picture of the Gov on her page! an’t wait to see her on American Chopper tonight!
damn…. I don’t know how to twitter….. I guess I have to ask my kids. (again)I have come along way in the last few years, but there is always something new…..
Thanks, sharon. You made me feel better. Someone e-mailed me Twitter 101; but I have been too afraid to even try. LOL You and I will learn together.
Uh…I guess that makes three of us non-twitterers.
Bill R.? as a New Mexican who loves Palin, I am very confused.
It must be a Western Governor thing.
I believe it’s a Western Gov. thing.
And remember folks, those are people who are following HER, not the other way around, although she does have to accept them for them to follow her.
Everytime I click she has a few hundred more followers.
10-to-1 Insane Stalker and Trig Troofer Andrew Sullivan jumps in there. I hope she doesn’t “accept” that psycho.
I have tried to be very objective with the new president… Is it just me or does anyone else feel embarrassed for him when he talks? And is the press not complete propaganda at this point?
I cringe when he speaks.
Sharon- skipped the infomercial last night, watched the show that was honest about it’s lying instead (Lie to Me on Fox).
However, have caught all the other kabuki theatre press conferences, and you’re right- Obonehead is a spastically awful extemporaneous speaker.
It’s like they’ve surgically implanted a cliche maker in barky’s somewhat empty skull that gets switched on when TOTUS stops controlling the puppet in chief.
And for some reason, TOTUS is really off at these “press conferences”- oblahblah sounds rushed, he reads only middlingly well, he doesn’t do any of the pre-programmed head dips or dramatic gestures… by and large TOTUS just doesn’t bring his A game.
Funniest comment I saw about this lame “press conference” was by Dennis Miller- he said something like:
“It’s pretty sad when Miss California has to answer tougher questions than the president.”
Yes and she was better at it, as well.
You didn’t think he was enchanting???
WHERE ARE THE REAL PRESS?
Give me a flying break. I am so glad I didn’t watch that circus….
Did ya hear, only 29 mill tuned in as opposed to 41 mill for the last love fest.
Yeah, I skipped the self praise-a-thon last night. I’m just so burned out on all Oblahblah all the time.
So last night the Fox commentator stated that this was the 3rd press conference of BO’s.
Is it me, or doesn’t it seem like we’ve been subjected to a LOT more than three??
I suppose when you factor in State of the Union, and the several other televised “important” speeches that pre-empted our favorite TV shows, that he’s had at least a dozen “appearances”.
Ah, dopey Joe- what a completely dunderheaded boob. Apparently trying to start a nationwide panic all by his tiny brained self.
THIS is what the leadership in America has come to? Listening to the equivalent of drunk Darryl at the end of the bar ramble on incoherently?
Stooooooopidest administration evaaaah!
Drunk Darryl at the end of the bar?
You are hilarious!LOL
Hillbuzz,
You guys are honest and you have basis for your belief. Don’t let others try to change that. Besides, I can’t help but to wonder what this media would have done to Dick Cheney had he made even 10% of the gaffes that Biden has. And look at it this way, it’s barely 100 days since the invasion of the WH with this group, and the gaffes keep adding up (the biggest one is AF-1 buzzing NYC).
Yes, and not ONE question last night on the flight….It would be major news if it were Bush or Clinton for that matter.
neither of them are that stupid.or insensitive.
Not to mention, they are GROWN UPS!!!
Ditto-you guys really get how most of us disenfranchised moderated Democrats feel–I can honestly say i was brainwashed into believing the Republicans were evil, Democrats only good. Now I see how ridiculous that way of thinking And after seeing Liz Cheney put that Nora fool down, I would vote for a Palin/Cheney(Liz) ticket in a heartbeat!! One more thing, Bush at least was able to complete a decent and diverse staff!
LSB- you aren’t the only ones without a political home…
I’m from the right side of the spectrum. At this stage of the game, I see my party being pulled in two different directions by the devout social issues bunch, and the Northeastern seaboard elitist bunch.
That sets up these choices: a)let my party be run by people that have social/religious convictions that run counter to mine; or b) let my party be run by snobs that would exclude “gauche snowbillies” like Sarah Palin. In addition, these snobs are to this day stating their preference for barky (buckley jr., for example).
You’re not alone, guess that’s the point.
To chime in from the other side of the aisle, hillbuzz also recognizes that a lot of us Repubs are not happy with much of our party as well. At least we didn;t get screwed klike you all did with Hillary, but we have plenty to be upset about nonetheless.
I’ll never drink the Repub koolade either, never again. For too many years I had convinced myself that there weren’t enough decent Dems left for that party to be worth anything.
I was wrong. There are MILLIONS of good, decent, honest, hardworking patriotic Dems left in the party. They all supported Hillary! Which tells me a lot, and led me here.
No more blind partisanship from THIS Republican. I want the BEST candidates in BOTH parties, so no matter who “wins,” we ALL win. I will support any good candidates and give hell to any bad ones, party affiliation be damned!
Love this site and all the fantastic people here of all parties, backgrounds and beliefs!
Let’s just hope the next biggest gaffe doesn’t get people killed, if it hasn’t already.
Funny video. If the embed code doesn’t work, would someone in the know please do it for me? The vid is short, funny, and to the point: *A Messiah in the White House*.
Here goes:

It worked…woot!!!!!!!!!!!!
sure did ..thanks
In a post on texasdarlin.wordpress.com, dated 4/29/09, entitled “White House Terrorizes NYC”, someone mentioned that Obama used the term “Five Pillars” in his recent town hall speech. They did some quick research and Five Pillars of Islam is the foundation of muslim life. Is this Obama’s way of letting muslims know he is one with them? Americans may not pick up on this as we are unfamiliar with this phrase. That and his slip last year about 57 states (57 nations of islam) shows he is very well versed in Islamic theory. If you recall, he also rattled off some greeting in islamic language to the Turkish representatives he met while on his recent tour. What do you make of this recent ‘slip of the tongue’ by Obama…or was it intentional…to those who are in the know?
In his Georgetown speech, he referred to his administration as the ‘New Foundation’.
The word foundation in Arabic means ‘Al Qaeda’.
Not kidding. Look it up yourselves if you don’t believe me.
Yeah…I wish I could remember where and who…but a year or so ago it was said that America would be taken over from the inside out..by Muslim extremists…what better way to do so than through the POTUS??
Don’t have room here for specific details, but about 20 years ago, my aunt, who was 70 years old at the time -was told by a muslem women she met while shopping, that within her lifetime, she (aunt) would see a muslem in the WH.
Thank you, susan h.
Pardon me, I DO have to go throw up now.
Me too – and it’s not swine flu!
Ditto me.
And then there was that “my Muslim faith” slip he made with George Stepalloverus on Sunday morning TV.
I didn’t start out believing he was a Muslim, but the evidence is mounting up. I trust him less with every day that passes.
I’m with you JD. Stupid me, I believed the Christian line…..guess that expired too.
HB: You are terrific for doing the USO benefit (and for countless other reasons)!
Bless you!
And I’d bet the farm that Biden is no latent or sleeping genius. He’s a blathering fool. I prefer Cheney over him any day! When a person can say “So?” in response to criticism, it tells me he knows who he is and what he’s doing–even if we don’t know–and he’s secure in and believes sincerely in his role. I now give him a huge benefit of the doubt. At least we remained safe post-9/11, and the govt didn’t sponsor any vicious stunts.
Know what, garlic? I think you’ve crossed over into conservative territory!
IMO, what has made liberals liberal are social issues. Abortion, gay rights, drug legalization, etc. Since many do “live in their mom’s basement, eating frosting from a can” there’s also the nanny state wish for some.
Huge difference between that and how the Bush/Cheney administration kept us safe and secure.
But I think BO misjudges how many former & lite liberals now find themselves shoulder-to-shoulder with conservatives. Tea party movement has really solidified these concepts.
NeeNee I think people are realizing that it should be Country First, Party Second, like the Hillbuzz guys said a while back.
Screw the party affiliations for now. This President keeps referring to a “Post America”. What the hell does that mean? America is the free-est country on this damn earth, and he wants to throw the constitution in the garbage and destroy our foundations.
I think that’s what’s bringing us together more than any social issue could.
i completely agree with this!
Hi garlic, I know you explained this before but I just can’t remember for the life of me…can I ask what was the inspiration for your nickname?
Not Garlic, but my guess would be Wright called the italiains garlic noses (in his “sermon” about how Jesus was black and the garlic noses were white and that’s why they killed him)
http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/03/obamas-pastor-wright-italians-look-down.html
“(Jesus’) enemies had their opinion about Him,” Wright wrote in a eulogy of the late scholar Asa Hilliard in the November/December 2007 issue. “The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans.”
Wright continued, “From the circumstances surrounding Jesus’ birth (in a barn in a township that was under the Apartheid Roman government that said his daddy had to be in), up to and including the circumstances surrounding Jesus’ death on a cross, a Roman cross, public lynching Italian style. …
Can you see what BO saw in this guy for 20+ years? Not exactly a steep learning curve. What a vile human being.
what got me is the other day (at the town hall?) Barky said the US losts it’s moral complass (or something to that effect) BUT HE claimed Wright helped keep HIS “moral compass calibrated’
Let’s see, Joe “spray-on-tan” Biden tells us all to stay off of trains, planes and automobiles, sending commuters into a panic.
Obamessiah promises not to use interrogation techniques even if there is a threat to U.S. citizens.
Who the hell is looking out for us again? Oh, that’s right, the soldiers who are in harms way. The brave men and women that are completely ignored by the media(unless you want to see more pics of Abu Girab, of course). At least we have THOSE guys watching our backs.
The administration is more concerned with terrorizing us and taking over businesses as more and more jobs go bye bye.
Are the American people REALLY this stupid???
a lot are.all the ones that voted for him..for sure
Hillbuzz – waiting to read your review of the press conference.
It gave me the opportunity for several mini- naps (13 to be specific) as each answer droned on. One tends to forget what the original question was – which I think is all part of the game plan.
I also wanted to say that I was HIGHLY outraged that the POTUS poked fun at the Tea Party demonstrations. When did Bush ever poke fun at his protesters? If he did, it was a self-deprecating joke. I’m beginning to doubt that BO will ever stop campaigning. It will always be about him first, and country 3rd or 10th.
Yes, I agree…. Lets pretend for a moment it would have been ANY previous president….. The proper statement would have been this is America and we are blessed that we have the opportunity to protest peacefully and express our views… The level of professionalism of this administration is the lowest I have ever witnessed. Bush never bashed the war protestors did he? This president has made it quite clear he is the president of his supporters only.
I’m surprised he didn’t scratch his nose with his middle finger whilst poking fun at tea partiers.
Is this how we catch swine flu?
ROFL
http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee206/ninjamike13/baby-kissing-pig.jpg
That photo is so cute.
My cousins used to own a pig farm in Iowa and we’d chase the piggies around.
Hmmmm.
I think I’m going to make me a ham sandwich!
Oh, and if anyone here is actually feeling fear about this “flu” bullcrap, just read this article and realize that this whole thing is just another tactic to distract Americans while Obama steals your retirement money.
http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-sci-swine-reality30-2009apr30,0,3606923.story
My guess: Scare Force One was a distraction from the Swine Flu which is a distraction from the hijacking of our healthcare system.
The scary part is, I’m starting to actually understand how this administration works!
It’s all about distracting the public from what’s REALLY important.
And it’s working.
Remember, they passed the 3.7 TRILLION dollar budget yesterday.
Without a single vote from a Republican.
Why isn’t THAT front page news?
Distraction, distraction.
Dunno, I’m too busy waving my tea bag!!!
PVG. HA HA HA HA HA
Tammy, that article is right on. Also, according to WHO, only 7 people in the entire world have died of this “plague”. I am sorry for any deaths; but, COME ON! What are they going to do when we have a REAL situation? Just keel over in a faint?
Don’t people realize that any given year, THOUSANDS of people die from the plain ‘ole flu?
This whole thing is a ruse and the MSM is in on it.
CORRECTION: I have been trying to follow media and realize they are not reporting the same. Duh. I found the WHO video which said 7 people in the U.S. died(not 7 in the world). I saw another report that said 160 deaths in Mexico with 2400 cases. My sweet and adorable hubby, while traveling to and from Austin, heard several wild reports of many more deaths. My conclusion: Who really knows. LOL
BUY FORD, or any foreign car made in the USA. The government is giving control of GM and Chrysler to the UAW. Just my two cents….
When I was growing up in Wyoming, Dick Cheney was very well respected there…and contrary to popular view, residents of Wyoming, Idaho, Alaska and other less populated western states are not uneducated and backwards..
On the other hand, has anyone heard how or what Hillary is doing the past week or so…haven’t seen any updates or seen her on tv…hope she didn’t catch anything traveling with ding-dong to Mexico.
I hope you guys feel even safer when you read that the Guantanamo Terrorists are going to be put up in HOTELS.
Isn’t ironic that Marines are accused of murder while in the middle of a WAR, and the guy who planned the 911 attacks gets to stay at a Holiday Inn Express?
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gS_wCwVf04MPhiRv1lwDohnZy8gAD97SBFS80
Didn’t see the “Obamamathon” last night, but did I hear correctly the he state that it would be too late to close the border w/Mexico?
If this is true, then shouldn’t the border been closed beforehand?
After watching CSI: NY ~I love Gary Sinise~ last night, ~ it was about survivors of the Holocaust~ If you missed it, you can see at CBS.com. I remarked to my husband that that is the reason why we need to fight these lefties. We were both in tears over a clip when a Jew was remembering the US soldier who found him when his camp was liberated. That is why we need to fight for this country. That is one of the many reasons I am proud to be an American! America is an extraordinary country. We are blessed so that we can be a blessing. We have done incredible good in this world. BO needs to be schooled in world history, not just American history. Also, it was very scary to see pics of the “brown shirt’s” and “Hitler’s Youth”.
TN WAHM ~
I just caught a tiny bit of CSI-NY last night, but I think I saw the part you refer to. Where the old man was relating the story of being given a piece of bread and his stomach could only handle the one bite?
I want to be sure and see the whole thing.
Yes, that is the clip I was referring to. Also, if water boarding and putting a caterpillar in a small space is torture, what did Hitler do to the Jews?
Gary Sinise is one hell of a great American and a great guy. He does so much so selflessly and I never see him patting himself on the back or seeking credit for his work on behalf of our troops. He just does the right thing to do the right thing.
God bless him and I wish more of Hollyweird were like him!
So Chrysler is taking bankrupcy.
What happened to the $15-20 billion infused by BO that was supposed to prevent this? Economists said at the time you can’t suspend the laws of economics—that’s why bankrupcy is the ultimate solution.
So we taxpayers are out big bucks. Because Barky’s plan wasn’t really a plan. If we had let the “survival of the fittest”, i.e. bankrupcy, occur last January we’d still have our $15 billion and the outcome would be the same.
Sidebar: my son’s father-in-law is head mechanic at local Chrysler dealership. He’ll find out today if he still has a job. Bill will be fine because he’s an ace mechanic. . . maybe just not under the Chrysler banner.
Newsmax analysis of Chrysler bankrupcy:
“Talks between Chrysler LLC’s lenders and the Treasury Department to reduce the automaker’s secured debt and keep it out of bankruptcy protection broke down early this morning, a person familiar with the talks said.
“Four banks with 70 percent of Chrysler’s $6.9 billion debt had agreed to erase it for $2 billion, or less than 30 cents for each dollar held. That left Chrysler’s fate in the hands of about 40 hedge funds with about 30 percent of the debt.
“To entice the hedge funds into going along with the banks, the government on Wednesday afternoon added $250 million to the $2 billion that the banks had settled for and gave the hedge funds a 6 p.m. deadline to work it out, two people briefed on the talks said.”
Weren’t hedge funds a big part of the monetary collapse last October? I know not much about this, but this makes me nervous . . .
This thing is a mess. I am in MI as you know…. the bankruptcy will be filed in New York and not in MI. This will not protect Michigan creditors with New York laws. The Obama motors wanted the creditors to take 29cents on the dollar. Bankruptcy court gives them their chance to recoup their monies for themselves and their own shareholders.. He just berated them in his conference today.
He is giving half the shares to the UAW. The UAW will own part of Chrysler. I am disgusted..
Union vote-support payback??
Kabuki theater.Hedge funds are going to get wiped out one way or the other. The real issue is that one unsecured creditor, the UAW, is making zero concessions. While secure creditors like the banks and the USA are taking huge haircuts.
It’s an abomination to fairness and the rule of law that the UAW would end up with even 0.0001% of any bankrupt car company. There fate should be exactly the same as any other equity shareholder including the CEO and the rest of management. That is their stake is now worth $0.00. That’s what happens when you run a company into the ground.
Only under socialism can the UAW possibly end up with 55% of Chrysler. Either way the company will be worthless in a year or two when management ends up being run by labor.
It won’t even matter WHO runs the company.
Americans are pissed and they’re not going to buy Chrysler cars anymore.
Period.
I’m with Sharon: DO NOT BUY CHRYSLER.
According to Consumer Reports, Ford has EXCELLENT cars and trucks for sale. Let’s support a company that makes good products!
You are correct… The UAW are making NO concessions.. NONE, NADA Obama is lying… Obama also used the word “shared sacrifice” a socialism key word…
Thank you verm. And there’s no way I would buy a UAW car. NO WAY. And that is saying something from the granddaughter and niece of automakers. In fact my uncle is retired from Chrysler – very comfortably retired. Little did I ever realize what an expensive luxurious creature my uncle is.
FORD = FIX OR REPAIR DAILY.
THE LAST FORD I OWNED WAS ALWAYS IN THE SHOP. FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE 3 SPEED ON THE FLOOR WITH GLASS PAKS.350 HORSE POWER
RED AND WHITE
IT WAS A MISERABLE RIDE WITH LEATHER BUCKET SEATS ON THE FLOOR AND THE CLUTCH BIGGER THAN MY TWO FEET. NEVER OWNED A FORD AGAIN. NEVER WILL.
THAT WAS IN 1970
Not only would we have our $15 billion, we wouldn’t be throwing another $8 billion after it.
“Donors Demand Refund from Specter”
“Sen. Arlen Specter’s switch to the Democratic Party is prompting his campaign donors large and small to demand their money back, including several Republican senators whose political action committees gave tens of thousands of dollars to the Pennsylvania lawmaker.”
According to the article, Specter is agreeing to return donations.

Newsmax is smokin’ today! Now Timmy Geithner’s economic solution proposal from last summer has come to light. And guess what? In JUNE he was proposing trillions of dollars to guarantee the banking system!
“You can’t accuse Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner of thinking small.
Last June, then Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson held a meeting of top policy makers, including Geithner, to discuss the worsening financial crisis.
Paulson asked the group what emergency powers the government might want to end the ongoing meltdown.
Geithner, then head of the New York Fed, shocked his colleagues by proposing that Congress be asked to give the president power to guarantee all debt in the banking system — trillions of dollars. That’s what two participants at the meeting told The New York Times.
Not surprisingly, the idea didn’t go anywhere, as others in the room pointed out it could require taxpayers to shell out the money and would amount to a political atom bomb.
“People thought, ‘Wow, that’s kind of out there,’” John Dugan, comptroller of the currency, who heard about the idea afterward, told The Times.
Geithner was a bit coy about his idea when The Times questioned him recently.
“I don’t remember a serious discussion on that proposal then,” he says.
Of course, the Federal Reserve and Treasury have taken steps since then to guarantee huge amounts of debt anyway, ranging from mortgage securities to credit card loans. And the government has since stepped in on insurance companies and automakers in a huge way, brokering reforms unthinkable in a normal economy.
So, in a sense, Geithner got his wish.
Some experts have criticized all the government intervention, saying it merely bails out fat cats.
Propping up the current economy isn’t working, and the Obama administration’s moves to pump more billions into it will cause hyper-inflation and drive down the value of the dollar, says Euro Pacific Capital head Peter Schiff.
“As a nation, we go deeper into debt,” Schiff told the Christian Science Monitor.
“What we need to do is get out of debt. We need to let the phony economy contract.”
And now for something completely different- news about Russia invading Georgia!
http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5gBmkrTDuwMVpF49KHznFYpZECyoQ
Funny, thought barky had solved this through the sheer force of his persona back at the G-20 meetings.
But did you see his new dog? And like 100 days!

“Lie to Me” Tops Obama News Conference
Just In: FOX, the only one of the Big Four networks that did not carry Pres. Obama’s news conference last night, finished first in the 8pmET hour with a new episode of “Lie to Me.” The drama averaged 7.9 million Total Viewers, according to Nielsen overnights.
NBC’s coverage of the Obama newser came in second with 6.7 million Total Viewers.
Overall, Obama’s news conference was seen by nearly 19 million viewers across NBC, ABC, CBS according to the early numbers. (Reminder: fast nationals measure only timeslot and not actual program data). Final ratings will be released later today.
Haha! FOX does know how to win, don’t they?
yep..just keep totus off..
Bwaaaaa hahahahahahahahah!
One quibble- the report should read “nbc’s coverage of the obama snoozer…”
I could HONESTLY not believe my ears this morning with the stupidity of the “avoid airplanes and subways” comment on the Today Show. THANK THE GODS that everyone who came on after “respectfully disagreed” and went on to say how absolutely insane it is to avoid public transportation.
I publically shamed someone in my office yesterday and her response was the “well, you know, once you have kids you worry about everything.” Really? Does your brain and ability to think for critically and for yourself also leak out of your ears? If that’s the case, no thanks on the having of the babies for me.
I just saw two Japanese tourists wearing facemasks in Herald Square where I work when I popped out for lunch. Hey geniuses: you see any of the locals wearing masks? Idiots.
Now, now, that’s a Japanese thing. I saw that on my flight to Tokyo, and on the subways there.
I don’t care if they’re Martians – they’re still idiots. And you’re right, I saw that in Japan as well…now, why doesn’t someone in their country explain to them that those masks are absolutely USELESS when it comes to colds, ANY kind of flus, allergies, etc…?
Biden peeing on himself over “swine flu” is our signal that the so-called threat is either over, or there never was one in the first place. Botox Joe hasn’t been right about anything in 35 years. He voted AGAINST the Alaska Pipeline, ferpissake!
What a freakin’ waste of protoplasm.
waste of time too
Not to mention Botox
Well, not sure if anyone saw the hopemeister’s speech today on Chrysler’s BK, but the plants are now closing unexpectedly as the suppliers have decided not to ship to them immediately. They are concerned about getting paid… I wonder if Obama and his task force saw this coming since he told the workers it would not interfere with business..mmmmmm
BARKY SAID that filing BK is not a sign of weakness. ‘It’s not weak’ he says….he’s a weak, pitiful SOB.
Now all the deadbeats and illegal aliens will max out their credit and default on purpose saying ‘barky says it’s not a sign of weakness’..WTF???
So, my uncle, the retired Chrysler manager, has always been fond of saying “Things will be different when the workers control the means of production.”
Indeed.
Visions of absolute workplace dysfunction are dancing in my head.
While campaigning, he said he was gonna do it. “OBama moves to lower crack sentences.”
Obama is asking Congress to “close the big gap in prison sentences for dealing crack versus powdered cocaine,” a law that critics say is unfair to blacks.
Apparently, Federal law now has what lawyers call a “100-to-1″ ratio for cocaine sentences, in which a person selling five grams of crack faces the same five-year mandatory minimum sentence as someone selling 500 grams of powder cocaine.
Critics of the law say it unfairly punishes black offenders, pointing to statistics showing 82 percent of federal crack cocaine convicts were black, while nine percent were white.
Interesting how BO has time on his hands to satisfy so many of his “constituents.” Yessir, he’s got quite a checklist . . .
He sure seems to find time to cut favors for criminals, terrorists, Muslims, and tyrands of all kinds. But what’s he doing for ordinary real Americans? Dick, that’s what.
*tyrants* of course.
JackDaddy. This is what he is doing for real Americans.
The Obama administration outted two CIA contractors via ABC . The article gave their names, photos of these poor men, and a video of one of them refusing to talk about it. The article is written in such a way that people with no brains AND al Quaeda will hate these men. They put these men in danger. I will not print their names here.
“According to current and former government officials, the CIA’s secret waterboarding program was designed and assured to be safe by two well-paid psychologists now working out of an unmarked office building in Spokane, Washington.
Both men declined to speak to ABC News citing non-disclosure agreements with the CIA. But sources say Jessen and Mitchell together designed and implemented the CIA’s interrogation program. ”
I should have said “to” real Americans.
Dan Proft just resigned as Cicero Spokesman.
Rasmussen had Barky McSpendy’s approval rating this morning back down to +2. Only a matter of time until it goes into negative territory, though it looks like he’ll beat the May 1 over-under.
What’s the deal with posting today? I’m only batting about 50%. Anyone else having trouble?
Well, it’s the potential third prong of Obama’s attack on America:
Supreme Court Justice Souter is retiring!
Sounds like the end of June will be it for him. So with Justice Ginsberg having cancer, the complexion of the court could be radically altered very shortly.
Ginsburg and Souter are both liberals, who will be replaced by liberals. They always vote wrong (IMHO, of course) on every decision. Maobama couldn’t replace them with worse.
Now if any of the four conservative Justices, or Kennedy, were to retire, we’d be in big trouble.
You know, JackDaddy, I’m thinking Obama might pick someone worse; someone who views the world as he does and who is as immoral as he. Just sayin’.
Can you imagine another late 40′s Obama clone as a SC judge?? I agree, TXMom . . . as bad as Souter & Ginsberg are, there’s a nasty pool of candidates out there. By virtue of their generation/age, Ginsberg & Souter at least have a modicum of genteelness (gentility?).
Think about Barky’s “I won” constant comeback. Can’t you just imagine a like-minded judge snippily denying appeals or to even hear a case?
Yes, TXMom, but remember, no matter how stupid-liberal they are, they can only vote Yes or No on things—they can’t vote Super-Yes or Super-No or get two or three votes. If you vote Yes on something because you’re a little liberal, you can’t vote any more Yes on it because you’re super-liberal.
That’s why I say he can’t appoint anyone any worse (from my perspective) than Ginsburg and Souter. If he were replacing Scalia, Roberts, Thomas, etc., it would be a HUGE problem.
Neenee. Yes I can; that is what scares me.
JackDaddy. Your point is good. That does make be feel better.
Summary: I am scared and I feel better.
That was fun.
A member of the U.S. delegation that helped prepare Energy Secretary Steven Chu’s trip to Mexico City has demonstrated flu-like symptoms and his family members have tested probable for swine flu.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Thursday that three members of an aide’s family are being tested to see if they have the same strain of swine flu that is threatening to become a pandemic. The aide worked in presidential advance, which is responsible for planning and preparing trips.
Gibbs said that Secretary Chu has not experienced any symptoms. The spokesman also said that President Barack Obama also has had no symptoms of the virus and doctors see no need to conduct any tests on his health

I love you for this post.
