We are officially fans of Sue Lowden now too, and will do all we can to help her defeat Harry Reid in Nevada
A message to the RNC: if you keep running great candidates like Sue Lowden against terrible Democrats like Harry Reid, you will win more elections.
Just a thought.
Sometimes, based on some of the numbskulls that win GOP nominations, this seems like it might be some sort of rocket science in the climatology mode…but, honestly, Harry Reid is in for the fight of his vile, repugnant, incompetent life.
Anything we can do to help Sue Lowden will be a sincere pleasure.
It is now shaping up that Republicans have managed to run a great candidate against Reid in Nevada…and another great candidate, John Dennis, against Nancy Pelosi in San Francisco.
Just consider for a moment the marvel it would be if these two destructive fools were cast out of Congress on their rumps by strong GOP challengers.
Please explain to us, again, the reason behind not running strong, likeable, decent candidates in EVERY race?
Go, Sue, go!
Go, John, go!
We need more like you!

You’ve identified the problem with the RNC leadership perfectly. They keep running these horrible candidates, people that are so boring and moderate that they don’t stand for anything or excite anybody.
A lot of it is our fault though, the people haven’t become politically active until this election cycle. Hopefully we will stay engaged from now on in.
You hit the nail on the proverbial head. Parapharsing Edmund Burke, “evil wins when good people do nothing.” That’s what happens when we leave politics to the elites(of both parties). The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators and the like. They never intended government to become a “career move.” So when regular “folk” like Palin get involved, it shakes up the system.
Have you seen the Senate lately? That place needs a major overhaul, pronto- out of touch- doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Correct. Sarah has changed and will influence everything from now on! Amen.
Wow, she seems wonderful! Now she just needs to make sure that all those people who lost their homes in the Las Vegas area this year (due to Reid’s idiocy) are registered to vote!
FINALLY.
Some decent candidates who speak for the people instead of the damn party!
I hope they both win and get those sniveling losers out of power.
damn! wow!
I never knew this is what conservatism was all about.
I will be contributing $$ to this woman.
I as a recovering democrat now indy WANT HARRY REID DEFEATED!!!!!!!!!!!!
F U undemocratic party! hating on Hillary and then hating on Sarah.
“Party of women”??? what a load of BS!
I follow a blog called Libertarian Republican where Lowden has been highlighted a few times.
http://libertarianrepublican.blogspot.com/search?q=sue+lowden
Here’s a quote lifted from one of the posts:
“She was a Republican state senator representing Las Vegas from 1992 through 1996. While in the Senate, she served as Majority Whip and Chairman of the Taxation Committee…which, under her watch, would have been more appropriately named the NON-Taxation Committee. Sue Lowden never met a tax hike she didn’t want to crush like a bug.”
It will be interesting to see whether Palin backs her in the primary. Palin’s dad has already announced he plans to campaign for Tarkanian, her GOP primary challenger. I’m sure it has to do with his love for sports, since Tarkanian’s dad is big in the basketball world, I believe. Hopefully, this will be one of the friendly family disagreements, since Lowden is clearly the more aggressively fiscally conservative of the two choices.
are any of you members of team sarah?
the emails every other hour got on my nerves and i removed myself BUT they have a lot of info and enthusiaum !! if someone will post to their site –it has a lot of people!! wish i could do all that stuff.
Ilove this site THANK YOU GUYS AND GALS new to site keep on keeping us informed and involved!!
i mailed my 2nd christmas card to the aclu today — made a thril go up my leg!! LOL also included a donation of 1 penny made sure to note that on the envelope.
just spreading the christmas cheer!!!
Next time tape that pre-paid envelop to a phone directory and cost them uber money. The post office will accept this, and it will cost them a lot to pay for the shipping.
ask them why the hell they are more interested in defending KSM instead the rights of Americans who had their family/friends killed on 9/11!
Ssmith -
We’ve never heard about the phone book.
Are you sure that’s deliverable? We’ve been putting flat rocks in enevelopes that are pre-paid from the DNC since 2008. The phone book seems like it would cost them a lot more, but will the Post Office accept and deliver it with that prepaid envelope attached?
Isn’t the prepaid part just covering the envelope itself and the contents therein? We didn’t know it could be attached to something like the phone book too.
Can someone confirm this?
I am not any longer a fan of either party. What p***** me off SO MUCH is that the republican party won’t even put a candidate on the ballot in Atlanta. SO ANNOYING. So I have ‘elected’ leaders *cough* who are basically appointed by the democratic party here. It’s really disgusting. The dems don’t even have a primary where more than one candidate is on the ballot. So we just get idiots appointed to these offices, with no choices.
And you can’t write in a candidate because for that vote to be counted, a candidate has to register as a candidate at least 30 days prior to an election. So, well, people do write in candidates – but have no idea that their votes are being thrown away (and, no the media doesn’t care – even though….those votes ARE thrown away – legally – and you have idiot elected officials who just say things like: we’re going to count every vote! But, well, they’re lying).
so I’m stuck – I can’t even register a protest vote cause there’s no one on the ballot to vote for. *sigh*
can you run an independent conservative with no party affiliation?
Not so easy. most legislatures have made it about impossible to do that. It’s the strangest thing – cause the libertarians in GA are ‘allowed’ to have ballot access for the governor and lt. governor’s races. BUT they still have to do the ‘independent’ thing for just about every other office. And the independent thing is something like 10% of all voter’s signatures (i.e., if there are 100,000 voters in the district, you need 10% – or 10,000 – of them to sign your petition, i could have it wrong, where it’s something like 5% or whatever, but still). You need more than 10% because the other side spends all their time and energy to disallow you from getting on the ballot – cause they seriously don’t want anyone else on the ballot.
I’m sure most legislatures in the country are like that (in FL if there’s only one candidate for an office – said candidate doesn’t even go on the ballot). We have all been incredibly complacent in the last XXX years – and the people who are in the govts have taken huge advantage of that – it is not only at the federal level. It’s truly gross and disgusting.
A large reason we need less govt. Those who think we need more govt live in some sort of fantasy world where they think that the entity that is ‘the govt’ has their best interest at heart. Of course they don’t (they wholeheartedly believe that businesses don’t – but wont’ entertain the notion that ‘govt’ doesnt’) – governments are run by people – and each person has their own interest at heart. Yes, there are good people EVERYWHERE, and some of them work for the govt and some of them work in business – and work everywhere and are everywhere – but for the most part, people are out for themselves. So why some out there think that our ‘govt’ run by the same types of people as there are everywhere else – would have their best interests at heart, I wonder why they think that way.
Hi HillBuzz:
yes, you may need to put that phone book in a box and then tape that pre-paid envelop to it. The receiving party must pay for it.
I have a friend who did this and the post office in her area (VA) accepted it. (and yes, it was to the UN-DNC), unfortuantely, she never got any more pre-paid envelops from the UN-DNC after that
(anyone who is still getting pre-paid envelops from the AARP should do this as well)
We’re going to make this a post on the main page so that everyone knows about it. In fact, we’re going to make it the first post in the new strategy page we’re creating to collect all these little action items for people to work on. Thanks for this — never would have thought of it and if enough people do it, it can cost the DNC and AARP a great deal.
Yep, sounds like a great idea. You can call the post office in your area to double check.
I haven’t tried this myself, I always put washers in that UN-DNC envelop to weigh it down. But as soon as I get another pre-paid envelop from the UN-DNC, I plan on doing this. (they haven’t been sending any pre-paid envelops lately)
So, double check with the local post office, but I figure if one post office allowed it, the principle should be the same every post office.
Terrific tip!
A good use for those smaller, unofficial, incomplete, and essentially useless phone directories that many of us get. Put ‘em in a large manila envelope and tape the prepaid envelope to that. Also useful for all those unwanted catalogs we get around this time of year! (Hey–we should subscribe to gun and religion-related catalogs just so we can mail them to the Dems and ACLU.)
The RNC is terribel at running things, Steele is a good guy and has made things better, but he need to do a lot more to get the GOP in the best state for the 2010 & 2012 elections. already the GOP leads 8% in a generic ballot.
The DNC is a well oiled election fighting meachine selection candidates that can win in districs or States that a Liberal Democrat couln’t win.
GOP could take the house and Dick Morris says 10 Senate seats in 2010, they have to get their act together and Conservatives have to go out and vote for the GOP Moderate candidates. In 2008 many did not bother voting for McCain so the Democrats could win 60 Senate seats and huge margins in the house.
WOW, all of the above and she’s beautiful too!
What? ANOTHER ditzy former beauty queen? What makes her think that she is in any way qualified to hold public office? Why, has she ever been a community organizer? REALLY…the NERVE of some people.
Hey-
I just wanted to tell everyone suffering in Nevada’s bad economic climate that if you get rid of Harry Reid, I will personally fly to Las Vegas with every friend I have and spend as much money as possible.
Get rid of Harry Reid!
I live in NV and can’t wait to vote Reid out. I’m not too sure about supporting Lowden just yet. No particular reason, I mean, I’ve heard more good things about her than bad. I guess I just don’t want to get my hopes up yet.
Note the tone of the ad. Simply stating what she stands for without a negative word about Harry Reid. That’s a good formula to win.
Well, if you don’t mind that she has donated thousands of dollars to Harry Reid’s campaigns in the past…..!! And she screwed up the republican party at the state level big time and she disenfranchised some deligates at the state convention because she didn’t like the way they were voting…….. to my way of thinking she will be no different than Harry Reid. Nevada has too many RINOs now!!
I think Tarkenian is a better choice and most likely he is very popular in Nevada.
Yeah, that’s a tough one, since Danny Tarkanian’s daddy is Runnin’ Rebels coach Jerry Tarkanian. I know he was kicking Reid’s butt by 11 percentage points in August, but I have a feeling that whole “who’s your daddy?” thing is going to turn off Nevadans in the long run.
I’d love to see a current poll of Repub candidates vs. Reid.
I’ll personally stick to Lowden, as she had actual experience. Danny is a real estate developer.
Well, anyway, we’ll see come the primary, on June 8.
P.S. Dirty Harry is pulling down his son Rory’s numbers with respect to the governorship. That’s a shame, since Rory is an entirely decent person, especially compared to his disgusting dad.
Go, Jersey Girl, go!
Sue Lowden is gonna drop-kick dirty Harry’s wrinkly azz in Nevada!
That commercial is PERFECT! Nevadans are hungering for that kind of substantive and positive appeal, especially after the back-and-forth invective between congressional candidates in 2008.
BTW, I love KLAS-TV, where Lowden was once an anchor. It was my fave news station while I lived in Las Vegas. I could be somewhat attached to it because it was founded by the late, great Hank Greenspun, one of my role models for TRUTH in journalism! God, how I wish he were alive now.
GOP needs Reid to beat on him and try to portray Reid as “everything that is wrong with Democrats.”
But I think Reid is going to have a nightmare election and even though he is slightly (2%-3% within margin of error) up in polls at times, he has to outspend, campaign vigorously against Republican Sue Lowden and Reid might still lose this election.
Couple of very important factors working against Reid, these might help Republican Sue Lowden deliver a shocking victory to the GOP:
1. Nevada has higher unemployment than other states.
2. Nevada’s economic troubles are deeper than other states’ (in terms of new investments, projects, etc…)
3. Nevada is practically dead.
These are the only factors that will lead Republicans to victory in Nevada. No matter how much $$$ Reid spends, unless the unemployed go back to work (or start going back to work) or new investment/construction projects are initiated, or the economy gets better – more people go to Nevada for leisure – Reid will lose the seat. Time is running out with only about more than 2 months left and in this timeframe no significant positive economic developments will take place – simply not enough time.
Unless the Republican candidate Sue Lowden makes a serious strategic mistake during campaigning – she has a very good chance in delivering serious victory to the GOP.
Very interesting election developments in Nevada…
