VOTE NEWT: Parody of Cee Lo Green’s Song “Forget You” (or “F*** You” if we’re talking to Mitt Romney)
Warning: around the 3:07 mark you will see Newt Gingrich in a way that can never, ever be unseen.
It’s an excellent, excellent parody though. The Gingrich campaign should embrace it whole-heartedly and play it at events.
LYRICS:
If you want to take down Barack Obama…
you gotta VOTE NEWT.
Cause all the change that he offered wasn’t enough, so Imma…
VOTE NEWT.
Yeah, I’ll vote for Newt.
Yeah, if I was richer…
a one percenter…
I might vote for Mitt.
(might vote for Mitt)
Though Herman Cain did impress…
Clearly he ain’t the best…
So Imma VOTE NEWT.
And I’m sorry….
that he ain’t Mitt Romney…
but we can’t all have such perfect hair.
And I’ve been listenin’…
to that Michele Bachmann…
and I’m startin’ to think that she’s not all there.
I pity the FOOOOOL who doesn’t vote for Newt.
Our problems will grow bigger..
Just thought you should know…
Cause if you’re a FOOOOL and you don’t vote for Newt…
Well, we’re screwed…
You know that, right?
If you want to take down Barack Obama…
You gotta VOTE NEWT.
Cause all that change that he offered wasn’t enough so Imma…
VOTE NEWT
Yeah, I’ll VOTE FOR NEWT.
Yeah, If I was richer…
a one percenter…
I might vote for Mitt.
(might vote for Mitt)
Though Herman Cain did impress…
He got ripped by the press…
So Imma VOTE NEWT.
Now you know…
A better tomorrow…
Is dependent on Barack’s defeat…
And you know…
that Mr. Gingrich…
Should be the one to take Obama’s seat.
I pity the FOOOOOL who doesn’t vote for Newt.
Our problems will grow bigger…
Just thought you should know yeah.
If you’re a FOOOOOOL
And you don’t vote for Newt, WELL…
Well, let me tell you something, you know that ain’t cool, right?
If you want to take down Barack Obama…
You gotta VOTE NEWT…
Cause all the change that was offered wasn’t enough…
So Imma VOTE NEWT…yeah, VOTE FOR NEWT.
If I was richer…
a one percenter….
I might vote for Mitt…
(might vote for Mitt)
Though Herman Cain did impress…
He got ripped by the press…
So Imma VOTE NEWT…
Oh, why oh why oh why Obama wanna hurt us so bad?
So bad…so bad…so bad…
We’re so screwed if we vote 4 more years of Sasha & Malia’s dad…
So bad…so bad…so bad.
WHY?
WHHHHHY?
WHY?
OBAAAMA.
I love Newt.
I really love Newt. * image that can never be unseen inserted here
So if you wanna take down Barack Obama…
You gotta VOTE NEWT…
Cause all that change that was offered wasn’t enough…
So Imma VOTE NEWT…
Yeah, I’ll vote for Newt.
Yeah, if I was richer…
A one percenter…
I might vote for Mitt…
(might vote for Mitt)
Though Herman Cain did impress…
He touched too many breasts…
So Imma VOTE NEWT…

In case you don’t know this song, it’s called “Forget You” in the clean version and “F*** You” in the original version. Gwenyth Paltrow performed it on Glee (but FOX has yanked all videos of that down, so this is the best I could find). Gwenyth on Glee has become a staple of gay bars here in Chicago…it’s extremely popular.
This is Cee Lo and Gwenyth doing an Elton John sort of thing at the Grammys.

Sheer briliance. No, seriously. Who did this? I'd appreciate knowing. It's wonderful!
Very catchy.
Fabulous!
I haven't watched the video yet, but I'm already laughing about what I might possibly want to "unsee!" I will say this…while it's a really catchy tune, I was disturbed to hear my children singing the tune when they returned home from seeing the Muppets movie. Apparently, there's a scene where the chickens "cluck" the song. While the words weren't included, I still find it a bit inappropriate for a children's movie!
