Two Major Obama Supporters Bite the Dust at NBC and CNN

Posted on September 24, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Jeff Zucker has been fired over at NBC.

Jonathan Klein has also been removed as head of CNN.

These two men are big Obama Kool-Aid drinkers, and pushed for their respective networks to become Obama cheerleaders in 2008.

Zucker did this, in large part, because he believed betting everything on Obama would mean that, once president, Obama would give big payback perks to GE, NBC’s parent company, and Zucker would look like a major hero to his corporate overlords for increasing their profitability with this newfound love coming from the new White House.

That really didn’t happen though, because Obama does not reward any of those who’ve served him.  Their reward, in his mind, should be limited to the joy they get in worshipping at his feet and doing his bidding.  SERVICE to “The One” is, thus, it’s own reward.

Klein over at CNN is the dumber of the two network executives, which is saying a lot for anyone who has watched Zucker tear NBC down from the top network to the fourth.  FOURTH.  That’s staggering.  To go from first place to last, while raking in millions of dollars a year in salary.  It’s stunning GE let this man get away with it.

But, what did Klein and CNN get for throwing out all credibility in service of Obama?

Aside from tainting their long-established brand, neither of them got anything out of that deal.

Now that Comcast has purchased the networks of NBC, and now that Zucker has been booted to the curb, we’re waiting to see how Obama is served by the media in the days ahead.

It’s clear Obama-worship is not profitable, and will not lead to high ratings.

If either was true, then GE would not have sold money-losing NBC to Comcast, and NBC would have never lost money because its shameless and relentless Obama promotion would have kept the network at number one (provided viewers were as infatuated with Obama as Zucker seemed to believe they were).

Do you think NBC can recover with a new president?

Will CNN ever be seen as anything but a Democrat propaganda channel?

What do you think this bodes for coverage of Obama in the national media for the last two years of his term?

Does this mean that Kathleen Parker and Client #9 will not debut? I was looking forward to seeing this physical manifestation of a death spiral.

My nephew used to be a producer at CNN Headline news. He left a few years ago because it was so far-left he couldn’t take it anymore. He got a producer job at a local TV/radio station at much less pay and prestige but it was worth it so he wouldn’t have to be subject to their partisan antics. He had quite a few horror stories. He was the first person who told me that Obama would win in 2008 even when most people thought it was impossible. He knew how far in the tank the media was and he knew it was a collaborative effort to get him elected.

“THIS is CNN” used to carry such weight….and anticipation. Nowadays, all it means is “This is the DNC” and I don’t see them ever recovering from that. Surely not ever to the prestige that initial statement meant some years ago.

As for NBC….I hope they dwell a long, long time in the hell they have made for themselves. They deserve no second chances to regain any public trust.

I still say the Republicans should boycott the alphabet news. Why subject themselves to partisan attacks? The Democrats go on Fox all day long and are treated equally and fairly and with respect. The alphabet news just attacks the conservatives and lies and sets them up with gotcha partisan shots. I say to heck with them. Boycott and stick with the internet blogs and Fox.

We have got to stop conceding ground to the dems. We allow the dem narrative to go unchallenged throuhout the culture. We need to go to their strongholds and smash them. We should follow the Breitbart model and fight them anywhere, anytime. We send our designated hitters like breitbart, Christie and Liz Cheney. 1) do only live shows so they can’t edit us; 2) demand 1st look; and 3) bring your own camera. The drive-by-media still has a large audience that we need to reach. Besides, I relish the idea that we use their tools to beat them bloody.

Sarah Palin has figured this out.

Why should Conservatives go on networks that no one watches anyway? Or on networks that they know will twist and edit their comments to convey a totally different meaning? It is a total waste of time.

I look as these channels in business terms. Let’s just hope they were businesses that made some bad decisions but eventually correct their error….before they go bankrupt. CNN=NBC=New Coke.

It sure is a brave new world between Fox and the Internet, my heart is breaking for the MSM. They were just plain stupid for throwing half of America under the bus, payback time.
I really do wonder what this means for MSNBC, perhaps Olberman should start sending out some resumes.

I could not bear to watch Larry King giving one full hour to M Ahmoudinejad. Could not stand him giving a full hour to Bill Maher to shoot his mouth off in a few occasions.

Also interesting is the choice of his replacement Britisher Pierce Morgan(?)

But I go to their ticker and forum to tickle the commenters when they praised the Won with absurdity or beat down on republicans on how stupid they are.

When your viewership is WAAAY down, and people say they are better informed than when they were watching you… what do you think is going to happen?

I think the Internet exposed what was the truth about these people for a long time. When we had options other than the big 3, we were no longer forced to buy what they were selling… and we didn’t.

I think that MSM CEOs and CFOs have to eventually make decisions based on profit and loss. But anchors, journalists, reporters show their liberal bias because most come out of liberal journalism schools as long as they can get away with it.

Zucker should have been fired long before he became an acolyte of Obama. He is the #1 reason for NBC dropping from first and fourth and staying there. Good riddance to the rubbish!

One of the great things about living abroad is that I do not have access to the US TV media.

I don’t think I’ve watched the news on TV in over 4 years. In fact, my partner and I don’t even turn on the TV in our house — ever (it’s a giant dust collector at the moment in the study). We get news online. I may switch on the TV in a hotel room when I am on a business trip and hopefully can see a CSI: Las Vegas re-run or an episode of 2-1/2 Men (a show that makes me laugh *out loud*!!).

    We read a lot, too.

Killed my television two years ago and do not miss it one bit. As the Boyz do, videos and Hulu and EWTN on-line. What I do catch over at my sister’s appalls me. BIL and nieces are TV addicts. I can’t even stand watching sports because of the intrusive and offensive and inane ads. Tried watching the office and thought it was pretty funny at first. But, they have to throw in the idiotic adolescent stuff and it lost me. Same reason I can’t watch South Park. If they got rid of the potty and gross stuff, it really is funny.

    I’m getting old.

I’d love to see it roll down to some of the bozos on MSNBC losing their jobs. While not the worst on the channel but the two that bug me the most, I’d enjoy seeing both Mika and Joe S be history. Then Mika can say she’s been fired twice and Joe can stop pretending he’s a conseravtive.

Late to the program here but had to add I went to jr high and hs with Jeff Zucker. We were also fairly good friends in elementary school when we were in the gifted program together. He liked me cuz I was short like him. He was a tiny guy even in hs. Like maybe 5 ft in hs. Anyway, I have no responsibilty for what happened to him but as with many Jews, I will never understand how Jews supported the O. Especially ones that had access to News media that was obviously seeing (yet hiding) a lot of info indicating he was NO friend to isreal. As Mark Levin said “what is wrong with you people?”
