Tuesday Open Thread: July 20th, 2010
What’s on your minds this Tuesday?
What are people talking about in your part of the country?
*******************************
We’re having technical problems today, so please help pick up the slack and use this open thread to post links and commentary on the stories you think are important today. We hope to have regular postings back up and running on our end this evening, but in the meantime we need you regulars to pitch in however you can.

Well.. Happy Tuesday. I cannot sleep tonight, too much on my mind apparently.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Obama will attend a fundraiser for corrupt bankster Giannoulias. Uh, my jaw just dropped.
http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/clout_st/2010/07/obama-to-headline-giannoulias-fundraiser.html
Not really a surprise. Several of the blogs the Boyz posted linked the two of them. Obama probably owes Giannoulias and the Mob has ways of making sure debts are paid.
But not Chelsea’s wedding… He really is a mean spirited awful person.
Hey, it’s the curse for candidates to have BO campaign for them. BO has endorsed the white liberal, Steve Cohen, from Memphis over our former black mayor “King Willie” in the primary. I think Cohen will beat Herenton in the primary and then Cohen will get beat by the black conservative woman http://www.charlottebergmann.com in November. I can’t wait!
Stand by for major voter fraud, threats and intimidation, part II, this November. The Communists are already getting ready and organized.
….”The top “battleground states,” according to Fishman, are California, Florida, Illinois, Missouri and Ohio, all states where there are large Communist Party organizations.”
http://www.peoplesworld.org/cpusa-delegates-eye-november-elections/
Voter Fraud in Ohio – very possible.
Threats and intimidation? In Ohio, we live for someone to try to threaten or intimidate us. The Communist Party folks may try intimidation in certain neighborhoods, but if they are from Ohio, they know where that shit won’t fly.
Here is Stark County Ohio, the voters are so riled up against politicians that folks are willing to vote for the devil. Just last month, we were told that our county Treasury was robbed of almost 3-million dollars by the deputy treasurer (a Democrat.)
Democrats run this county and the people of this county (including many Democrats) are ready to vote everyone of them out of office; unfortunately, the only other choice we have are the run-of-the-mill Republican candidates. (You know, the government only allows us two choices.)
Here is a little hint for the Communist -Don’t back the Democrats, the majority of Ohioans do not truth them. Do not use intimidation and threats in Ohio – because we will kick your ass. All you have to do is run your own candidates and say – “We are not Democrat or Republican – we are for the people” and (sadly) you could win!
line from above should have read: the majority of Ohioans do not “trust” them.
Maybe because they don’t tell the “truth?”
I know Springfield had major “voter registration” drives as well as people picking up and taking first-time voters to the polls to vote AND walking them through the process, step-by-step, including reading everything to them. These people were not poll workers but were allowed to be in directive to these people they brought in. It appeared these new voters had not even been registered ahead of time and were able to show up, escorted by their personal voting teacher. Springfield patriots need to infiltrate Dem party their, as well as ACORN affiliates
I can only speak from my experience as a poll worker in Summit Co., but if an unregistered voter were to walk into my location, he would have to fill out a registration card and vote provisionally – no hanky-panky on my watch. Provisional voters/ballots are only verified and opened if the count is close or contested, otherwise the machine count is used.
We aren’t allowed to challenge an escort.
Ah, Mr. Jones, the intimidation will not come from the “communist party”…it will come from other sources – SEIU, ACORN’s lost souls, and The NEW Black Panther Party, since they were only told they couldn’t intimidate until 2012 in Pennsy. No one said anything about Ohio. But seriously, every precinct should have tea partiers, hillbuzzers, and other loyal patriots who will watch to see what is going on. If I can’t get the gig at my precinct to be a judge or a poll watcher, then I will just volunteer to assist by getting coffee, breakfast, lunch, snacks et al and keep my eyes open and my cell phone and video camerat at the ready. If i have to sit in my car and watch the front door, I’ll do that. Whatever it takes to make it a clean election, we have to have a plan to do it.
The dhimocrap running for governor in Minnesota does not have the word “democrat” anywhere on his ad.
Apparently he doesn’t think that’s a big selling point.
Trying to stop my friend from going to jail tomorrow. I know I can’t but i’m writing my governor to ask why divorced parents who are broke and can’t get jobs are jailed because they can’t meet their child support obligations, while married couples simply cut back and go without, but no jail. How does taxpayers paying to house non-criminals in jail help the incarcerated get out of debt. Moreover, how does it serve anybody’s interests except to clog up the jails and the courts.
It probably works, somehow, like Pelosi’s unemploymentthat that is “the fastest way to create new jobs”. In this case, it certainly helps to protract litigation, and, of yea stimulates the economy. NOT
There is another trend that seems unfair in reference to child support. Single girls are having babies, immediately going to court and pushing for full custody. No abuse is involved; the girls just don’t want the father involved so that they can eventually get married to someone else and not have to have a split family with weekend visitations. BUT the father still has to pay child support. Some of these young fathers have never even held their child but have to pay. Keep in mind, these are not fellows with history of violence or who don’t want to be involved.
There also is a trend for young guys to be attracted to girls for marrying who have a child with no father involvement because the child support is extra income every month. So you got the girl’s income, the new husband’s, and the child support for the child/children that came to the marriage. Yet, the fellow does not have to deal with his wife co-parenting and seeing an ex all the time because the dad has no custody rights.
My husband’s father married a widow with a young daughter who got government dollars because her father died during combat in WWII, when mother three months pregnant. The step father never took a dime from the benefits and his heart was broken when his new wife would not let him adopt the child. He said it was his responsibility to support his wife and their children, which included any she had with someone else. He would not touch those checks and would not let my mother-in-law use them for anything. So, when the little girl grew up and got married, she had quite a whopping inheritance from all the years of her step-father supporting her.
We will keep your friend in prayer.
I agree that this is a serious problem for young men with out-of-wedlock children. It occurred to me that back in the fifties, it was the young girl with the illegitimate baby who had the serious problem. I don’t suppose we will ever keep people from having irregular sex, but maybe it is time we found a way to keep them from having irregular babies. Forced birth control! Forced abortions!
Well, I’m sort of joking. But I’ve put in some frustrating years as a divorce lawyer, trying futilely to work something out for people on both sides of the problem. I decided at one time that the answer was to force all unmarried men to freeze some sperm and then have vasectomies. The horrible outcome of child support without the child could be viewed as a useful disincentive, though obviously not as effective as a vasectomy.
Well, geeze, why not just let the dad’s have some part of the custody. And if a woman wants full custody, then she waives her right to child support….and the state won’t support her and the child either! No daddy, no dough.
After reading these stories, it’s hard to complain about a miserable sex life.
@Motley, I agree with you. No custody or visitation, no child support. I am ashamed of what some of my gender does.
Our niece was one of those who decided she wanted a kid (ticking clock syndrome), found a guy but didn’t tell him, got pregnant and sued for support. She won her case by default (the guy didn’t show up in court), but my sympathies have been with him.
What she did was selfish, which would have been somewhat excusable in an 18-year-old, but she was 30. Her actions have divided the family and the one who will ultimately pay the cost will be her son.
Good heavens what state does he live in–this is terrible! I really despise my ex but would never want to see him go to jail, what kind of monster was he married too! As usual the party that suffers the most is the children. This makes me sick.
I have just written a piece which concerns the TEA movement.. My piece is aimed at those who smear the movement by trying claim that cop-killers like Jerry and Joseph Kane were associated with the movement.
You can read what I have to say here:
http://inforapenny.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/smearing-the-tea-movement-part-1/
I would welcome comments regarding the meat of the article, especially if you have had dealings with those involved as sovereign citizens and whether you would place the movement on the extreme right or on the left. My view is that those who advocate anarchy belong to the left and not the right in politics.
Please let me know what you think.
Well, I don’t have any experience with the RAP or “Sovereign” movement, other than viewing their website, and I have to say, the website looks suspiciously to me like a Big Sis DHS fishing hole, much like Hal Turner’s radio “show” was nothing more than a ginned up big Sis fishing hole.
The SPLC website “timeline” regarding the Patriot movement was pretty amusing — all of it unsubstantiated, most of it completely fabricated nonsense. When I first moved to the US, I actually thought the SPLC was dedicated to tracking racism and hate, but was quickly disabused of that notion. It’s classic Alinsky – freeze, demonize, diminish. I would hardly categorize Sheriff Mack as a radical and a danger to the US.
I would have to put the tax resisters/Sovereigns in the Leftist camp. Their “manifestos” seem to be more in keeping with the tenets of the Weather Underground and NOI rants than any of the more Ron Paul type freedom movements.
The Kanes just sounded like complete kooks, and definitely not in keeping with anyone I have met through the TEA party movement. But homeschoolers? Perfect. (eye roll). Let’s make a checklist and go through all the stereotypes and make sure we block them all off.
My heart goes out to the families of the Officers slain. I can’t imagine the depth of pain the Chief father must have to face in reviewing the circumstances of his own son’s murder in the line of duty.
Because the left believes in big government, I have always considered real anarchists to be extreme right, ie: the farther left you go, the bigger your desire for a “nanny state”; conversely, the farther right you go, the smaller you feel the government should be (until it is non-existent).
Liberals will shrug with a “live and let live” attitude until your rules for living run counter to theirs, then they are all about regulation. The extremist will break laws and call it anarchy, but it’s not to eliminate regulation, rather to bring about the regulation they proscribe. Like a child who doesn’t like his parents rules and fantasizes, not about eliminating rules but being the “king” who establishes them.
It’s been said that if you go far enough to the right, you’ll come around the back side and run smack into a liberal headed left.
Via Atlas Shrugs: Lt Col West blacklisted, asked to not attend charity event …
http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2010/07/blacklisting-lt-colonel-allen-west-and-his-wife.html
Unbelievable. So honoring the Wests was “political,” but threatening to withhold funds because of the political asiprations of one of the honorees is not? Only in the mind of a liberal does that make sense. And shame on the event organizers for succumbing to the pressures of these “donors.” By disinviting the Wests, they have done exactly what the “donors” accused them of — politicizing what should be a non-political event.
Oh, and I’ll be waiting for the NAACP to denouce the racist elements within the CF Foundation.
Recall that Sarah Palin was disinvited from addressing the rally against Ahmadinejad across from the UN in September 2008, as a result of pressure from the Democrats. For shame!
This needs to go viral. Ron Klein and his HITLER wife are despicable pieces of you know what. The campaign of scorched earth they are using against Lt. Col. Allen West is unconscionable for Jews who are supposed to be sympathetic to the cause of the Afro-Americans.
RON KLEIN AND HIS WIFE ARE RAAAAAAAAAAAACIST. It should be shouted from every patriot’s mouth.
Allen West is going to lose if we don’t get behind him now. He was there for us. It’s our turn to fight for him. Allen West represents everything that is good about America.
Let’s roll, I’m sick of the ruling class.
“It has come to my attention that the McCloskey and Levy families are the donors who have threatened to withdraw support due to prodding from the wife of Congressman Ron Klein. I find this reprehensible, disgusting, despicable, and petulant….but indicative of the hideous side of South Florida politics which I condemn. There is proof of this, to include an email trail, and I would appreciate your honesty when this becomes a topic of inquiry.”
He came out with a second, longer blast at the NAACP:
http://biggovernment.com/awest/2010/07/19/naacp-useful-idiots-of-liberal-racism/
Love this guy.
Palin/West 2012
If we don’t start screaming RAAAAACIST at the top of our lungs and refuse to launch a concerted effort to smear these 2 progressive, Democrat donor pigs who have threatened to pull their donations if Allen West is honored we are looking at second class citizen status for the rest our our lives. Afro-American conservatives will continued to be targeted. Ron Klein is in trouble in Fl-22, serious trouble. He is behind in the polls. He is activating the Obama machine and threatening anyone who will give a voice to Allen West. This is the time and the place to launch a national Tea Party effort to help Allen West. America desperately needs this patriot.
Like the HillBuzz Boyz say. We know the names of these 2 Democrat donors. They are listed in the thread. Let’s go after them. This behavior can not stand. It’s time for us to call them out for the RACIST’s that they are.
If not us, who?
That is disgusting! The letter hints that certain wealthy Jewish people are joining in their demand to discriminate against West. I don’t care who’s responsible for pressuring the CF foundation. The fdn. made the decision to insult Col. West and Dr, West, and they should accept responsibility for the fallout.
Here’s something to give your liberal friends disillusioned by Obama:

I’m reading Zev Chafets’ biography on Rush Limbaugh — An Army of One. I’ve listened to probably a total of an hour of Limbaugh’s show my entire life, and snippets here and there that are posted on conservative blogs. I’m really enjoying the book and may start listening more regularly. I’m curious whether any of you “dittoheads” have read it and whether you think it paints a fair picture of Rush.
I read the book. Yes, I think it was very fair. As a matter of fact, so does El Rushbo.
AFinch, Limbaugh is truly a National Treasure.
I listen to him every chance I can and think you would get hooked on him, too.
Haven’t read Chafets’ book yet but I’m working my way through a pile of summer reading and will get to it.
I find that most people, even conservatives, who bash Limbaugh and think he’s arrogant either never listen to him, listen to him in short snippets, or have no sense of humor.
He is solid on his conservative beliefs, but this whole “Talent on loan from God” and all his other schtick, is just to make his show entertaining. It cracks me up when Leftists talk about his arrogance. He really is a very humble, generous person, but he does that Arrogance schtick knowing it just goads his detractors and he loves it.
Thought the book was very fair–and not fawning, though I think the writer came to like Rush after he did an interview for the NYTs.
I’m very sad for Glenn Beck, who has gotten horrible news about his eyesight. Please include him in his prayers.
Yesterday, his show was about a provision in one of those bills that allows for assassination of American citizens.
Gack!! One of WHAT bills?
And I’m going to have to google news on Glenn Beck. I heard nothing about his eyesight. I can’t imagine what it will be like for him if he is unable to read. The man reads like I eat. Constantly.
He mentioned it at his weekend show in Utah, Drudge reported it yesterday, and he spoke about it on yesterday’s show. He has been diagnosed with macular dystrophy, an inherited condition that can cause anything from mild vision loss to blindness. Most commonly it presents in middle age (he’s 46) and causes blurring of central vision but leaves peripheral vision intact. There is no way to predict how severe it will be, and no treatment. He can only wait, hope, and pray.
What he reported last night, as best I could get it, was that the pResident has “authorized” a program called the Presidential Assassination Program which allows the President to assassinate (i.e., murder) any American he suspects of terrorism. No arrest, no Miranda rights, no due process, no trial. Assassination. He showed clips of it being discussed on MSNBC by a guy from a far-left site called Salon.com. You can watch yesterday’s program on your computer at http://www.watchglennbeck.com.
Surely he’ll have more on this.
Yikes!! I’ll have to find something about that and send it out to my leftist “friends” and family. That’s a definite “need-to-know”. I’ll find the spot in the link you sent and forward that on too. Thanks for the info.
Haven’t read the book yet. Have been reading all summer and doesn’t seem that I will be catching up any time soon!
You must check Rush out though! I have listened off and on since 1993. Rush is the best at conservative radio. A class all his own. I listen to them all and each brings something to the table. But Rush, well he is the greatest. As he says, he will tell us when it is time to throw in the towel and get the hell out of dodge.
http://biggovernment.com/abreitbart/2010/07/20/journolist-yes-but-the-reporters-at-pravda-werent-such-insufferable-assholes/
This is a sweet story (perhaps bittersweet). Thanks to all who are uncovering this conspiracy.
Andrew Breitbart is a fearless, indomitable REAL journalist and it’s nice to see that his ‘following’ is growing every day.
(The comments are also good.)
Say a little prayer for Andrew, his family and his staff, today.
Pray for the truthtellers, big amall, ordinary and prominent.
Ackerman and Journalist need to be sued into the poor house for their deceptive and fraudulent claims for their “product” of “reporting.”
Vvvvvvvvvvery interesting!
It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign….
Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. “George [Stephanopoulos],” fumed Richard Kim of the Nation, is “being a disgusting little rat snake.”
Others went further. According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.
In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/07/20/daily-caller-discovers-journolist-plot-to-spike-wright-story-smear-conservatives-as-racists/
I read it, and Breitbart’s editorial on it. A blatant conspiracy of many in the media to ignore Obama’s past so we could truly know what our future would be with him as “president” and to push him down our throats. What is interesting to me is that this was in April of 2008. He hadn’t won the primary yet and the media’s main focus was to keep the presidency away from “the right” – no mention of Hillary. How would they have known for sure that she was surely going to lose? Since Hillary won the popular vote, and considering all the fraud that was alleged in the caucuses and voting booths, could this cabal of media be responsible for knowing about but not reporting on that as well? It was this group that no doubt used the “racist” word first as it applied to Bill Clinton in South Carolina. Now that they have been thoroughly discredited, and we can’t believe their “reporting” will they be fired? Info about “journolist” can be found here: Check out just who was in the “in crowd”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JournoList#JournoList

When I was watching Megyn Kelly FNC, I thought: that’s exactly what HB has been talking about.
Body of Tennessee Election Official Found Dead in Trunk of Burning Car
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/07/19/body-tennessee-election-official-trunk-burning-car/?test=latestnews
Who WAS this guy? Anyone know what he was up to that got him char-broiled?
Setting the car on fire means it was a statement crime; whoever did it wanted the body found right away.
And, from WATE.com in Knoxville:
“Miller was the chairman of the Monroe County Election Commission and 1st District chair of the Monroe County Republican Party.”
Thanks . . . I was wondering just which party he belonged to.
Tennessee is very corrupt. It was probably done by a Bobot… and they are trying to smear two people Huff and Fitzpatrick for the crime….
WND Exclusive OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL
Here’s what Obama’s doing with your money – in Kenya!
3 Republican congressmen reveal Barack secretly spent $23 million

An investigation by three Republican congressmen has revealed the Obama administration has secretly spent $23 million of U.S. taxpayer dollars in Kenya to fund a “Yes” vote on a constitutional referendum scheduled for Aug. 4 that would increase access to abortions in Kenya and establish legal status for Islamic law tribunals.
Meanwhile, trusted sources in Kenya tell WND that the White House has used Vice President Joseph Biden’s trip to Kenya in June and the office of U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Michael E. Ranneberger to put out the message that passage of the referendum would enable the White House to open the floodgates to allow millions of dollars of additional U.S. government aid and private investment capital to flow into Kenya.
Last week, in response to inquiries from Reps. Chris Smith, R-N.J., Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., and Darrell Issa, R-Calif., the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, admitted to spending more than $23 million of U.S. taxpayer money to influence voters in Kenya to pass the highly contentious constitution.
The pattern for exclusive stories from WND is about three/four days after initial posting, if the story has not disappeared, Drudge will pick it up with more facts included; then about a week after that Fox will pick it up, and then it hits the blogs. Finally, …..well, it does not usually make MSM. Oh well.
http://tinyurl.com/29jsl8b my new blog post. hope everybody have a great day and god bless you all.
Nice post Brad. I am sorry to see all of the liberals attacking you. Stay strong in your beliefs and convictions and remember, if they are trashing you – you are on target.
This is what is on my mind today. About 10 years ago a lot of senior buildings were being built in anticipation for the baby boomers turning 65. Now they are all closing because they can’t get anyone to move their because they can’t sell their house. One of my ptsreally need to move into assisted living and she always assumed she would be able to sell her house to afford the last few years of her life in comfort. The house (in Livonia, Michigan) across the street sold for 22,000. Four years ago her house was appraised at ~140,000. Unbelievable.
Karen — I’m so sorry for your mother! I lived in Ohio until 2007, and it was terrible trying to sell our house there. It was on the market for over a year. People in other areas don’t understand what it’s like to live in the midwest where the recession has hit so hard.
So apparently somebody got ahold of the JornoList archive . . .
http://dailycaller.com/2010/07/20/documents-show-media-plotting-to-kill-stories-about-rev-jeremiah-wright/
Wow! Awesome and very revealing!
FTA: “Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with (Reverend) Wright by CHANGING THE SUBJECT. Pick one of Obama’s CONSERVATIVE CRITICS, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and CALL THEM RACISTS.”
‘Call them racists’…there you have it.
That’s the strategy, laid out by they, themselves.
Thanks for posting, Lola!
If they indeed have the full archive, this will become a seminal event for the media in this country.
If they hired someone with data/text mining experience to go thru the information, it could be possible to attach a quantitative correlation between journolist participation and members stories.
They’d just need to look at the time of journolist coordination and then comb subsequent articles for like words and concepts.
I am sure that what is to come will be shouted down as neo-McCarthyism
I hope you are right.
Also, recall the NY times reporter who spiked the story with Monita Ancrief (sp?) whistleblowing on the Obama ties to ACORN because it would make Obama look bad.
Wow! This will be the gift that keeps on giving. Watch for news of new FCC regs or media bailouts.
Probably people have already seen these, but there are three new endorsements by Sarah Palin:
http://www.facebook.com/notes/sarah-palin/kelly-ayotte-for-new-hampshire/410097773434
http://www.facebook.com/notes/sarah-palin/uniting-america-with-mcconnell-and-gosar-in-congress/410040003434
Is Ayotte an independent? Now, there’s a longshot. Palin says the R opponent is pro-Obamacare and pro-cap n tax. Gee, thanks, NH Republicans, for anoter Scuzzafavo.
A true conservative will not be elected in NH; however, every “R” we can get helps move “mother” Pelosi further out of the picture.
Reagan won New Hamphsire and so did Buchannan.
Sarah will walk thru that primary come 2012
FR — Kelly Ayotte is a Republican. She’s ahead in the polls right now here in NH. I met her last March at a fundraiser and really liked her views on things like spending in Washington. She’s been endorsed by our retiring Sen. Judd Gregg, so I think she has a good chance of winning in November. People here are disgusted with the Dems.
I just returned from vacation in Upper Michigan. In a 9-hour drive up there, including 2 on the turnpike, I only saw 2 Obama/Biden bumper stickers. I also saw 1 Kerry/Edwards. I know this is completely anticdotal but I thought it strange that (in Michigan!) no one wants to display their presidential support from 2 years ago?
A “turnpike” in the UP?
we start our drive from Ohio on the turnpike to get to Michigan.
I also saw I spelled anecdotal wrong. I guess I’m a rube.
I was just in Michigan as well – Saugatuck area – and the only Obama themed bumper sticker I saw was one of the LOL ones where the logo is the O! I was amazed.
Lastyear when I was in the USA and was on the train from Albany to Montreal, I remember that there was one station in upper New York where virtually every car had Progressive and obot stickers. I cannot think of the name of the town at the moment.
I love the UP. My great grandparents had a cabin there. I loved going to the dump and see the bears. The Mackinaw bridge is the most sight at night.
On my mind today: the transcript of Rush Limbaugh’s program where he discusses Prof. Codevilla’s incisive essay. PhillyCon kindly provided the link on Sunday; here it is again:
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_071910/content/01125106.guest.html
(I responded but since people might not see it there, here once more is the substance — apologies for the repetition:)
Limbaugh read that essay with great care.
Designating this new class the “ruling class” is both very true and a polemical masterstroke: for without mincing words it’s really a war that it’s fighting against all of us, the “country class.” If the latter realizes that this is the case and begins to act accordingly, that already in itself is a considerable victory!
One other point on terminology: let’s stop calling this “ruling class” an aristocracy. It can by no means claim to be rule by the best — what it in fact is, is an oligarchy, the corrupt and vicious “deformed form” thereof (Aristoteles dixit — the depravity also being visible in the quite different manner in which it rules, this being registered in the use of the other Greek root for “rule”).
We have an oligarchy to clean up! So, I especially liked this sentence: “There is going to be an apparatus in place, thanks to these people, to use the power of government against them when we get it back. The question is will the people that represent us have the guts to do so?” This goes to what we’ve often talked about on this site: if the “country party” fully retakes Washington in 2012, the criminals that have corrupted it (who they are is something that has been touched on often on this site) ought to be prosecuted, convicted, and sent to prison. We, the country party, need people in Washington who will have the courage to take that step.
It’s no accident that Rush’s transcript ends with Sarah Palin.
Amsterdam – I heard Rush and printed out the whole article. I was reading some excerpts to my husband last night.
It is required reading, in my opinion, to understand our elected officials and what happens to them once they get to Washington. I think this is why the Tea Party has rankled a lot of these career politicians and the deals they have made with lobbyists.
And I have to agree that Rush is spot on about Sarah Palin. She is the absolute outsider – the country class – and the ruling class is appalled with her.
I printed out and read this article as well. I think it thoroughly explains what we are dealing with in Washington. Definitely worth reading!
I too noticed how Rush’s transcript mentioned Sarah Palin. Is he telling us something??
Rush has always supported Sarah Palin. Think about it. She’s just like him. An outsider who is immensly popular with the “country” folk. She’s a commonsense conservative who loves Reagan.
Has anyone seen reports of Obama’s visit to Chicago last Thursday? There’s an email going around with still shots of a crowd in downtown Chicago carrying hostile signs. It was not quite at the level of pitchforks and torches, but they were clearly some angry citizens. The sender questioned the total absence of media coverage, and indeed I have seen nothing about it since it happened five days ago.
Wish I could figure out how to post it here.
what was he doing in Chicago? Paying off someone for testimony (or lack thereof) in the Blago case?
That particular video is an old one – around the time of the olympic visit..
I have my own theory as to this Clinton/Obama 2012 primary.
I believe this was their plan since 2008.
1. obama wins the election and forces(as he did) every liberal/socialist agenda down the throats against Americans.
2. he knows he won’t win in 2012 so they place hillary on the ticket (who is also a hard liberal)
3. as president she will deflect any republican vetoes on obama’s policies, such as health care, etc.
4. with her vetoing everything health care, etc will be enforced, making us a nanny state and too far gone to correct.
This in my mind, is all planned out for a few years now.
Vote for hillary – the extension of obama and America is finished.
Thanks for putting this so succinctly. I agree with you. The recent article referenced here by others in “The American Spectator”, discussing the ruling class vs the country class plays straight into this.
Hillary-obviously from the ruling class, and Sarah, obviously the country class.
For heavens sake, Hillary wrote a thesis on Saul Alinsky. It amy have been a long time ago, but it leaves no doubt as to which team she is batting for.
Wow. Hadn’t thought of that. Saw Hillary on Fox last night with Greta. Hillary was so Presidential seeming and smart and articulate, it was heartbreaking, she would have been so much better than Obama who just seems so stupid and amateurish. Well, if she does run again for President I won’t be able to vote for her this time. The Dems have lost this former life long democrat probably forever. Go Sarah!
After watching the Fox interview last night I am 100% convinced that HRC is planning a presidential run in 2012. She has nothing to lose.
She sharply broke from Obama administration with her strong verbal attack and “recognition” of terrorism, and “HER” plan to deal with it. Not “their plan”.
Combined with Bills manueverings, public talks, candidate support, and politicking. Plus now the Obama “race card” has been played and is being trumped and dismissed as “getting really old”.
Oh yeah, I am certain after watching that interview that she is running. And she even wore pearls.
Hopefuly, if Hillary makes the move, people will have the sense to see right through it. Hillary will not change anything that has been done.
Hillary was very impressive last night, as she always is. She has an incredible amount of knowledge about the world and what’s going on everywhere. The perfect candidate for ’08. Now she may be tarnished, as is the entire Democratic party. It’s a shame really, but I’m not writing her off yet.
Aussie: at this point, it’s a safe and prudent assumption that no Democrat would — which includes HC, of course. Hence, none at all can be trusted in the White House.
It would take a Democrat of the Zell Miller type even to begin to allay some of this justified suspicion — and as we know, their sort is virtually extinct.
It’s all part of their plan!! There’s no doubt in my mind.
They honestly believe the American people are stupid
I keep hearing rumblings that various states are trying to bypass the Electoral College in 2012. As I understand it, to change the constitution, you have to have a super majority of state legislatures to agree to the change. What’s going on with this?
Here’s the group pushing the popular vote and a map you should check out to see what’s happening in your state.
http://electoral-college.org/
Here’s an article on how Massachusetts may join the effort to bypass Electoral College:
http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2010/07/mass_may_join_e.html
My question is how will this affect elections? Will it benefit any one party?
Bypassing the Electoral College would allow the most populous states (primarily the Eastern and Western states like New York , California, and a few others) which are heavily liberal democrat) to totally dominate Presidential elections for just forever. This is the reason the Framers created the Electoral College process in the first place-that is, so a few highly populated states could not control elections and dominate all states.
I knew it had to favor Democrats if it is picking up steam like this. I feel sick.
The day after the 2008 presidential election I remember Soros’ son wrote an OpEd in the Wall Street Journal on how we should get rid of the Electoral College. These ba$tards shot their wad in 2008 and they knew it so the Marxists had to come up with another scheme. Every election it will be another scheme until we rid the country of this cancer.
We should honestly throw Soros out of this country.
And his family with him. And castrate his spawn.
Over at the NRO just on this topic, it’s worth a read including the comments

Surprise: Obama sends Berwick nomination to Senate via Hot Air
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/07/19/surprise-obama-sends-berwick-nomination-to-senate/
Interesting chess move, what do you think about this?
Quite perplexing if you put yourself in O’s position — I can’t think of a single advantage he could draw from this, assuming of course that the best Senators, those who do not comprise part of the oligarchy that is our would-be “ruling class,” grill Berwick to a crisp and then organize a filibuster against him.
The only thing I can think of is a maneuver whereby in the course of the hearings O withdraws the nomination, claiming that, having looked further into Berwick’s ideas and upon further reflection, he has changed his mind and will look for someone broadly acceptable for the position.
And not only could Berwick be grilled by the Senators — Sarah Palin too would have a perfect opportunity to launch more missiles against him, his confrère Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, and Obaminablecare generally.
Hmmm . . . perhaps it’s a feint to distract us from the developing Journolist story. What else is out there right now that they don’t want us paying attention to?
The Kagan nomination.
My 2 cents: Obama is calling the Republicans’ bluff. He is calculating that the R’s will be too scared to make this an issue. Remember, he said to Republicans, after Obamacare passed, “go ahead, repeal it.”
It could easily backfire on Obama, if the Republicans articulated and made a case against Berwick’s views. Unfortunately, their track record does not inspire confidence.
Indy, I think that Obama has information about the cost of the program that is not favorable, but soon to come to light.
Putting Berwick in front of the Senate will allow a purging of simultaneous information and seem like a bi-partisan approach. The administration is “positioning” everything right now in advance of the summer onslaught of election activity.
These are manuevers specifically designed by the likes of “Plouffers” to give the MSM ammunition to advance the “grace and statesmanship” of Obama.
Republicans and conservatives of all ranks better wise up really quick and advance actual, quantifiable “ideas” and alternatives to Obamas agenda.
There’s been much reported on cost, it’s getting uglier each time I read an article
http://www.avikroy.org/2010/07/health-care-and-long-term-budget.html
NRO has lots on healthcare
http://www.nationalreview.com/critical-condition
As to having to rely on the GOP, well that worries me and why I remain an independent, the GOP does not have a good gameplan, they seem to be sitting on the sidelines watching the Dems make mistakes instead of getting in the game with a clear plan. It’s time for Mitch McConnell to turn over the reins, we need a strong leader.
Interesting read – if you haven’t read (first story) this blog before, spend some time here when you can. http://newzeal.blogspot.com/
http://townhall.com/columnists/PhyllisSchlafly/2010/05/25/obama_starts_to_disarm_america/page/full
Phyllis Schafly “gets it”.
The real threat of Obamaunism is not economic depression. America can survive that and with sound economic principles return to and far surpass current levels of prosperity.
It is not even loss of liberty. Americans, if they angry and motivated enough can restore the US Constitution and roll back the Federal Government to pre-Civil War levels.
The real danger is, that if unchecked, Obama will so weaken America’s national defenses that the country itself will either be destroyed by the combined forces of its enemies in Moscow, Beijing, Havana, Caracas, Managua, Pyongyang and Tehran, or forced into some permanent form of supra-national government, under the banner of the United Nations – courtesy of the subversive Council on Foreign Relations
If either of those scenarios come to pass, freedom will be destroyed, the world over, for a very long time.
That is why every free person, every semi – free nation in the world has an interest in overturning Obamunism as soon as humanly possible – before we pass the point of no return.”
Here is the information for an event this Thursday evening in Palatine IL. The health care forum is sponsored by Joe Walsh, running against Melissa Bean (Pelosi lapdog-IL#8 district). The docs are great, and so is the health insurance expert on the panel. Patriot TV on youtube also has some of the speakers view their opposition to this monster of a law.
Sorry, here is the link.

Any Dennis Miller fans here? While he has not been directly critical of Palin on his show, his faint praise of her is almost as damning as a full frontal attack. For example, he says things like: (1) he would vote for her over Obama, but he vote for thousands of people over Obama; (2) she couldn’t win Jeopardy, but she’s “smart enough” to be president; and the latest on yesterday’s show (3) no one would accuse her of being Madame Curie . . . you know the rest. Why does he insist on attacking her intelligence every time he mentions her name?
He has also been among those suggesting that she chair the RNC and that she will forever be labeled as a quitter for resigning as Gov. It is clear to a careful listener that despite his protestations to the contrary, he is an elitist and he is embarassed by her and those of her ilk (i.e., us). It is “concern trolling” at its best. I think it’s time Miller heard from some true Palin supporters. As our friends at C4P have said, no more free shots at Palin — friendly fire or otherwise.
AFinch:
Palin, for all intents and purposes, is leader of the Republican Party, the Gallup Poll notwithstanding. She’s doing what the RNC chair should be doing, but without the bureaucratic nonsense, and butt kissing of big donors that is involved with that position.
Regarding Miller, just realize he “pals around” with BOR who is somewhat hostile to Palin. Palin’s got the big kahuna on her side, Limbaugh. That’s all she really needs, in my opinion.
Yeah, you’re prbably right re Miller. (Definitely right re Palin.)
Miller is a 9-11 conservative and BOR makes sure he stays squishy on sounding too conservative in order to keep being invited to the “cool kid’s” parties.
Miller’s an a–hole. He’s pretty funny sometimes, but yeah, he thinks Palin is stupid when she’s a million times smarter than the is. It’s too bad he’s like this, but he HAS been in Hollywood his entire career, at least forty years, and he is suppposedly a “comedian”, so that snarky sexist elitist vibe has unfortunately permeated him till he’s been pickled in it. Whenever he condescends to Sarah I just turn him off. He’ll never like her. But who cares.
AFinch, you said… “It is “concern trolling” at its best.”
That is 100% accurate !!!
Dennis Miller is just another misogynistic pig who thinks he is smarter than he is and also thinks he is really funny – he also has been hanging around ted baxter for far too long -
He’s just another Hollywood loser – RINO
I love the PUMAS, you guys are so descriptive, passionate, and don’t hold back.
Hope you guys stay on “our side.” We the need the passion to offset the Eeyores that are commonly found on the right. The Left has no idea what it lost.
I agree with this comment. This is why I feel comfortabe with Democrats… especially the PUMAs who are the centre people just like most Republicans.
Miller was in love with Barry. BillO always referred to him as ‘your’ guy when they spoke of Barry before the election. I’ve listened to him from time to time, and he slowly started turning against Barry a little after ‘Gatesgate’. Tough crap Denny, you fell for him, sucka!
A friend of mine is a radiologist practicing in Mass. This doctor is already feeling the effects of Romneycare, specifically the declining state reimbursement. This will ultimately reduce the supply of doctors, b/c it will no longer be economically feasible to practice medicine. By the way, this physician is a disillusioned Obama voter who probably needs the bumper sticker removal kit, stat!
On the federal level, he is also concerned about the so-called “doctor fix,” payment to physicians by Medicare. This was the carrot dangled to the AMA for their support of Obamacare. Not surprisingly, the Democrats are not serious about this, and keep legislating band-aids, by funding the payments to physicians for months at a time.
What concerns this doctor most is the “recommendation” for women to start their mammogram testing at 50 instead of 40. Hence, early detection is being sacrificed on the altar of rationed care.
Two things to consider:
1) This doc lives in MA, and is experiencing what the country will soon see under full blown Obamacare.
2) The inevitability of rationing, which the ruling classes say does not exist in gov’t run, individual mandated healthcare.
3) As a result of escalated costs, employers in MA, are already beginning to dump people in the state plan.
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/07/19/surprise-masscare-mandates-incentivize-employers-to-end-health-care-coverage/
And yet, while BO, Pelosi and Co. have been screeching about the costs of ‘unnecessary’ tests and screenings, they didn’t go near the one thing that would eliminate a lot of them. Redundant and repetitive tests are done by doctors who are forced to practice ‘defensive medicine’.
All because of the fear of being sued.
And yet, tort reform was never even part of the Hellcare Reform debate.
Of course, when we see how much the ambulance chasing shysters donate to the donkeys, we understand why that was so.
the declining reimbursements to both medical practitioner and the patient is what we have in Australia with our govt health system… it stinks…thanks Gough Whitlam
I may raise a little ire here, but if you view more of the now infamous Shirley Sherrod NAACP dinner video, you will see that her story of the “white farmer” was an anecdotal account of how she was racist. How she realized her actions were wrong. I noticed this last night when viewing the clip because it was cut off right as she was about to explain what happened to her own thoughts. Conservative writer Byron York even commented on Fox News this morning about how he felt she was being unfairly targeted. He said that she went on to become a friend of the farmer.
But what is also interesting is how Mr. Jealous also doesn’t bother looking further into it. He did the same thing with Ms. Sherrod as that NAACP did with the Tea Party, condemn without looking deeper. And while racism is rampant in the NAACP – they chose to scape goat a woman who was actually shedding light on her own racism as a black woman rather than go after their own racism.
Bottom line – it’s not about racism. It’s about getting out the vote for Obama. The NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, et al, know that if racism truly ended in this country they would be sunk. This is why they do everything they can to keep racism growing.
She resigned yesterday, which makes me think, perhaps unfairly, that the rest of the video did not redeem her.
Breitbart has more goodies coming out the next couple of days. I love watching him in all his glory. Brilliant.
I can only imagine the ugly threats he gets. He should expose them all.
Just heard on Fox Meagan Kelly has her on live today at 1:30 eastern. Go Megan!
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/07/20/ex-ag-official-says-video-showing-white-farmer-story-excludes-key-context/
Here is the complete story – I personally am not as happy with Breitbart as I was regarding this clip.
The Ag. Secretary said that no matter how she had changed her views and grown as a person, she would always be suspected of harboring racist feelings – and, by extension the Georgia programs would also be suspect.
And the brief reports I’ve seen around the net say that the orders to fire her (“allow her to resign”) came straight from the white house.
Thanks for the heads up on Megyn Kelly’s show. I just have a feeling this woman was taken out of context. Taking remarks out of context is a Left ploy and the LSM is more than happy to comply. If Ms. Sherrod’s remarks were indeed taken out of context the story will quickly become how the Republicans are racist in that they accused a black woman of racism when she was trying to demonstrate that one can change. The LSM will be more than happy to run with this.
I’m not sticking up for the NAACP, I’m not siding with the Left. I’m just thinking that if MY 1st impression, being a dyed in the wool conservative, was that this woman was taken out of context then this NAACP speech could be the wrong story to push. We all know that conservatives have to work 10 times as hard to appear favorably in LSM reporting.
it wasn’t just about Sherrod, it was about the reaction of the largely black audience, who made sounds of approval when she related her story–
Then she made rather a snarky remark about people applying for government jobs, because you don’t get laid off by the government.
More food for thought….
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/Examiner-Opinion-Zone/Shirley-Sherrods-Disappearing-Act-Not-So-Fast-98846149.html#ixzz0uGQNrkU8
What is the truth – what is the real story?
Pretty much has done a complete turn around. It doesn’t make Breitbart look good, but there’s also egg on the face of the White House and the NAACP.
Seems uncharacteristic of Breitbart though. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I don’t care if it was 20 years ago. What she did was wrong and it happens in government every single day. I’ve seen it personally. And even worse, the MSM blacking out the story and the story of the Black Panther, and organizing to call the right racist is WRONG. I’m not about to concede anything to the left.
CNN has more on tape,- John King.
Agriculture Secretary Vilsack stands by his decision, said WH not involved.
Sherrod said she was asked to pull to the roadside on the third call from the department and give her resignation. She gave the name of a woman. She told Sherrod that the WH wants her to resign.
Whether the firing is merited or not, you would think that an official at the high up level would know how to handle this kind of situation.
Not the end of story yet!!
Well, the BO’s got back from their Maine vacay just in time for yet another party at the White Hut last night.
It was supposedly a ‘Salute to Broadway’, starring Elaine Stritch, with Nathan Lane as emcee.
Here’s what big MO chose to wear:
http://www.michellesmirror.com/
I didn’t know Sly Stone had a garage sale!
Too bad she didn’t get the Afro wig-hat to go with the suit.
On the bright side, she must have gotten the memo about her fugly feet…got those dogs covered up for a change.
That is just so funny. What an outfit. What was she thinking???? On the other hand, I just love that blog!!!
I was wondering why the “mirror” was concentrating on the fact that she had 4 inch heels on her feet. Then I saw the pic of her standing. Who the blazes dresses her? I would not have worn that if even with 4 inch heels, you can’t see her feet. She’s lucky she didn’t fall and have her hair fall off. The pants were at least 3 inches too long!! You can’t tell me the WH doesn’t have a tailor there. Of course they do. She could have had them hemmed in 20 minutes!! She looks ridiculous. But the “mirror” was right, the rest of her wasn’t so bad…except the belt. At least we coudn’t see her underwear.
Sorry, but I actually think the pant suit is a good choice for her….and the length of the pants IS fashionable right now. I like the color, and I can’t believe it, but I even like the belt. The flare at bottom edge of top flows just right and it becomes her figure….I am keeping in mind that I only saw the front view, but at this point, Hey, it is ok.
Well…… I actually think the pant suit is a good choice for her….and the length of the pants IS fashionable right now. I like the color, and I can’t believe it, but I even like the belt. the trousers are too long… where are the seastresses to make sure it is a perfect fit? The colour is horrendous on her… she needs a darker shade… lemon is a bad choice. She should leave off the belt…
That blog is frequently very bad … !
This picture it created of O as an android made me burst out laughing:
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_DawJTCHuL3c/TECamKqBAyI/AAAAAAAAF7k/fcbJgfXuM8s/s1600-h/obama-robot%5B4%5D.jpg
I’m watching the MSM try to justify itself for not reporting on the Black Panther story. Anybody who goes on video claiming that white babies should be murdered should not get a pass. That is blatant racism and I don’t care what color you are…if you do not find that disturbing you are yourself disturbed.
I’m also watching the MSM try to deflect the deficit the Democrats have created by blaming the Republicans. It’s a pathetic attempt at best. They want to paint the Republicans as evil for not agreeing to extension of unemployment benefits. WHERE ARE THE JOBS? We should be screaming that from the rooftops. Unemployment benefits are not income. The economy is NOT recovering and it is NOT the fault of the Republicans.
We should be screaming about the hit piece on our intelligence community by the leftist radicals at WaPo. William Akin is notorious for his anti-military views. Nancy Pelosi declared war on the CIA. We should be focusing on that video of her stammering her way through that press conference calling the CIA liars. Exposing the intelligence community is treason. There is NOTHING good about this. This was an inside job by BO and company and they should be held accountable for it. Leftist radicals in charge of our military is not a very secure feeling.
These are my concerns for the day. Watch the news…read between the lines…realize that what the MSM is saying is never what it seems. They are a mouth piece for the administration. Every headline deserves scrutiny. What are they distracting the people from? What are they covering up? Who are the players. We should all strive to be like Andrew Brietbart.
Pence on Chris Matthews and a couple of other republican congressmen said that GOP would have voted for the unemployment extension if the benefit is funded by the bail out money sitting at the treasury, and not by more borrowed money.
Obama said he would do so last September but refused to do so now.
I like to see Obama exposed on liberal media. The left viewers need to hear this. I dont think Chris M wanted to be convinced though. Pence was articulate and effective.
I cannot stand to see him again in public pointing his fingers at the GOP in his self righteous rebuke.
His conduct is so unbecoming of a president!!
Speaking of books. One of my all time favorites is debuting on Starz. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet is one of the best pieces of historical fiction ever written.

Love.It.
For those concerned about the Bristol Palin reality show, it’s not happening.
http://www.usmagazine.com/celebritynews/news/bristol-palin-levi-johnston-were-not-doing-a-reality-show-2010197
That is a relief.
Thank you God, Amen.
With no TV show in the offing, are there any bets on how long levi hangs around before breaking the engagement?
I don’t believe that his plans included going so far as to get an actual job to support his family.
I saw the ‘US magazine’ cover today at the supermarket. Whoever did Bristol’s makeup made her look twice her age. And the idiot who sired her child looked like a total dirtbag…unshaven and smirking.
I can’t imagine what Sarah and Todd must think!
This article is for all the Democrats who encountered fraud and reported it during the election cycle of 08, also those who were threatened or intimidated during and after the election cycle of 08.
http://jbjd.wordpress.com/2010/07/17/lying-then-or-lying-now/
Each member of the House of Representatives will constructively forfeit the privilege of reelection by failing to introduce a Resolution of Impeachment before the November 2010 election. That is the only mechanism through which we can examine Mr. Obama’s role in the criminal conspiracy of fraud that got state election officials to print on the ballot the name of the candidate who overwhelming circumstantial evidence establishes is Constitutionally unqualified for the job. And, assuming the focused investigation and trial by the Senate validates our findings then, under the Constitution, Impeachment is the only way to remove him from office.
Okay. So we impeach Obama. Then what? We have Biden as president? Pelosi one step away from President? Which is more scary?
Obama is not in charge in my mind. OFA, DNC…the radical left is the problem and it doesn’t matter who is sitting in the oval office when the progressives are in charge. They all go by the same playbook. They all have the exact same objective. We saw the pro-life Democrats fold like an accordian during the healthcare vote and they sacrificed every ounce of moral decency for their objectives.
There is no moderate liberal base. So whether Obama is in charge, Piglosi, or Biden…they will all shove down our throats the same anti-American crap.
I say we focus and target getting them ALL out of office and vote in people who listen and vote for the people more loyal to their country than their party. We need to focus on strategy that is effective.
An impeachment takes years…we don’t have years.
Exactly right Bev, we don’t have years. As you point out there is a swarm of progressives ready and waiting to replace any vacant position, including POTUS.
This whole ‘impeach Obama’ idea is a ridiculous strategy. Americans loyal to our Constitution and the rule of law need to keep their eye on the ball namely, expose the statist/leftist/marxist ideaology for what it is and those that promote it. That’s the war we need to win.
November 2nd is the pivotal battle pending before us.
It is so, so, so important that we focus on getting the house and senate back. We have GOT to get piglosi out of power and Reid as well. That would take us very far. It cuts off Obama’s purse strings.
Yep, November is priority number one, lose that and we’ve lost the nation.
When we win in November, we’ll have ground to keep fighting and unwind this statist horror.
I disagree. Impeach Obama. If not starting now… then after November
Bev, God forbid something happens to Obama – impeachment, heart attack, hit by a car, whatever…Biden becomes president. According to the Constitution, he chooses a VP [and you can bet your everything that it would not be Pelosi]. That choice would be presented to the Senate, which would then “advise and consent” the choice. Most likely they would consent, unless Biden chose a nominee that was abhorrent to the people and the political body. If Pelosi was still the Speaker, she would be still only be 2nd in line for the presidency, after the new VP. It would be exactly how it is right now. I understand the angst. No one wants her anywhere NEAR the presidency.
But wouldn’t it stop the momentum they have built in ramming these horrid bills down our collective throats?
It would just make them more determined and ticked off. They are going to start ramming cap and trade thru next month. We should focus on exposing what a ponzi scam that is. They know Obama can’t be impeached with the Democrats in control of congress and the senate.
It is better to have Biden as President.
Anyway if that happens there will be a new VP so Pigsy will not be one step away…
Agreed. Concentrate on November election first.
Guys:
If you need a good laugh, here’s Mark Levin on David Frum, just fill in the blank, with David Brooks or Peggy Noonan and you get the picture.

I am LOVING this video. Virginia – DONE. New Jersey – DONE. Next…USA. What better contrast is there to the malaise of the Obama years.
This guy is on my hero list.
Speaking of malaise..we need to use that word constantly. Anyone my age immediately connects it to the Carter years and we need to put that in folks minds.
Bev, I heart the enthusiasm we find on this site. Now we just have to take that energy and work hard for our candidates to get the job done. I hope and pray everyone will Volunteer. Make phone calls. Walk the neighborhood. And most important…be there on election day to vote…and also volunteer to be a poll watcher, judge, “go-fer”. Bring your cell phone…and/or video camera if you have one. After hearing that the media has committed conspiracy in holding back negative stories on Obama, we have to get the real deal info out to friends/family/associates.
Drudge has a link to a report that Obama wants federal workers to reduce their business travel and cut down on emissions. This is pretty funny coming right after flying the first dog on vacation.
That would make an outstanding editorial cartoon. Hypocrite to infinity! He acts so like trailer trash that just won the lottery. “look at all the power and money I control…I can fly my dog anywhere I want…whooohooooo – and all you “small” people, stick it in your ear.”
http://dailycaller.com/2010/07/20/documents-show-media-plotting-to-kill-stories-about-rev-jeremiah-wright/
Tucker Carlson at the Daily Caller is truly going down in history as a hero for this story. This is HUGE. It not only damages the liberal media it damages the career racists calling the Tea Party and conservatives racists. Breitbart is giving major kudos to Tucker about this story. He’s becoming a major player.
Hi Bev. It’s only huge if it gets out to mainstream America. It will be in the MSM self interest to at least try to ensure that the story while not killed, is played down. I expect them to describe the list a just a few journalists of like mind that got together to talk about the stories of the day. Having said that, I think that Breibart will keep the heat on and I think that Rush might get involved as well which would bode well for the truth to come out.
Rush is all over it on today’s radio show.
Beck too.
Who cares if the MSM reports it? The MSM is not main stream anymore. The dinosaur media is history. Most people read the internet, the blogs, or Fox. Just look at the ratings and see who is ahead. Fox blows everybody out of the water. The only people who rely on MSM news only are the 15% of the radical left and if they want to be ignorant let them waddle in their ignorance. It just makes them look even worse.
People just do not trust them anymore.
I care, Bev, if the MSM reports because that is all my family of Obots watch and read. They will NOT listen to anything put out by anybody else if it is against Obo; even if it is facts. The ears are closed.
We have to stop giving MSM the power. They don’t have that power. WE have the power. You said “It’s only huge if it gets out to mainstream America”. I am not relying on MSM to tell America. WE are telling America. Are you calling to complain at the networks? Sending emails? Are you posting the article on Facebook? We can’t read the news and then complain the news isn’t getting out there. WE have to spread the news. We’re the ones with the power…not the lamestream media.
My Mother and Mother in law still watch the MSM. I think it might be a trend among older people, they get set in their ways and don’t like to change their routines. I see alot of older folks here and hope more “wake up”.
That’s so true. My parents were bred on getting their “news” from Peter Jennings every night. They don’t understand the change in times.
Yeah, there’s a percentage of people that are just stubborn and set in their ways. But the more we get the stuff out there the better off we are. We should never give up or lose hope. They want us to lose hope. They don’t want us to recognize the ground swell that is out there against them.
If one can believe what the polls say we know that despite the older genearation relying on the liestream more than their youngers they are overwhelmingly opposed to Obozo and against his marxist agenda.
Remeber these folks lived through WW II, Korea, & Viet Nam and recognize and recognize a tyrant when one appears. It wasn’t the old who were drinking Oblabla’s kool-aid in 2008.
I read the emails and what stands out is the raw combativeness of them.
Not “Gee, this is bad news, we need to play it down.” Instead, its “Attack the rightwingers! Make them afraid to report.”
I’ve said it before, the left views this as war while we still view it as polite discussion.
That is an excellent point.
Bravo Tucker! Maybe he will get really daring and play the Michelle “whitey tape” or show some proof of Obama’s being born in Kenya or other PROOF POSITIVE of his ineligibilty to be president.
The leak of their plot has shut down the journo list group. Ezra Klein founder of journo list at Washington post said he has just written his last letter for the group.
Great.
But they’ll find other ways to continue their cause.
Can’t you just see them with their notebooks and cell phones meeting in secret bar rooms clandestinely ordering cheese fries and beer while trying to figure out how they can get the talking points out without using the internet? And we sent the Russian spies home? We should have kept them and sent these guys to Russia. They’d be more comfortable there. And, from what has been written, the Russian spies were harmless because they were so stupid – sending home info from the NY Times that their bosses could have gotten from the internet.
Good Tuesday to ya!
I remember yelling at the TV during the ,08 debates to get the defibrillator..now I want to yell shut the hell up!!!

WTF??
What’s the sample distribution among D’s, R’s, and I’s? Gallup skews left.
Gallup usually runs left-ish. I’m not really worried about it. We’re going to get these “SHOCK” polls and stories out there and we have to be shock proof. There is no doubt that the Dems are dropping like lead balloons in the polls. The MSM will do anything to deflect that perception. Don’t fall for it.
Just like all the polls that are showing Crist ahead. If the Floridians vote Crist into the senate after he showed his true spineless colors then… well…. either there was election fraud or else I really weep – and fear- for America.
I think those kind of polls are put out there by both sides. The right should not become too over confident. They will put out stories like that to energize Repubs to donate money. The left does it, too.
….today is the 41st anniversary of the first Moon Landing….
….we did that, and we can overcome the current challenges….

Which reminds me that that was the very first day our younger son took his first step!
Well Kagan has passed the committee and goes to the Senate next week. Lindsay Graham voted with the Democrats saying that the 2008 election had consequences. I would have thought HIS election was the consequence that counted in that the people that voted for him were voting against Obama and his gang. He’s not a moderate republican, I don’t think he’s even a republican.
Why were the nominees from the GOP subject to the most atrocious treatment (that’s when they got to appear before the committee) and yet the a number of the GOP acts like lap dogs. I hope they fillibuster it.
Hmm, think my brain took a short vacation. If Graham votes for her, then one more GOP has to vote for her to get 60 votes which overrides a fillibuster. Oh well.
Also, Graham is providing cover for the Republicans by voting for her. So, they are given an out, and don’t have to fight.
Idiot. We have to wait until 2014 for his re-election prospects. Hopefully, someone is collecting this info and is preparing a challenge to him in the primary.
Graham is so history….he is toast next go around.
He just won relection. We still have alot more years of this turd. Maybe South Carolina can recall the creep. He wants to be a member of the ruling class. How does a state like South Carolina have DeMint and this dirtbag? Go figure.
We are really starting to see what the word “power hungry” means. Those in congress and the senate who ignore the will of the people and do what is best for themselves or to maintain power. Spector found out how that goes. Graham is next.
Miss Lindsey sure needs some refudiation!
Lindsay Graham is a Progressive Republican. He doesn’t call himself that, but that’s what he is.
Happening today here in California, my sister in law and I deploring that provision in Obama Care that will impose a 3.8% transaction fee paid to the government when you sell your house (add this to the 5% to the realtor and what a slice that takes off your house profit…if anyone is making a profit these days.) This is aimed primarily at seniors looking to downsize in to a smaller less expensive place, and pocket a little money.
State of NJ has what we call an “exit” tax because most people selling their homes have chosen to leave the state and get away from our highest taxes in the country. McGreevy passed it and pushed the number up twice on a sliding scale according to your income. So, in addition to 3.8 percent for Obama, and [in NJ] 6 percent for the realtor, we have an “exit” tax of anywhere from 3 to almost 6% for NJ. So, in this economy, anyone selling their home in NJ will probably lose money.
kiltie, my long post to you is in limbo, but NJ has what we call an “exit” tax, when you sell your house and I pray Christie will overturn that. Most will LOSE money here if they are fortunate to sell.
Oh yeah!
Gov. Brewer rocks.

Palin weighs in on Facebook regarding the journolist story of the day.
http://www.facebook.com/notes/sarah-palin/media-bias-what-media-bias-bombshell/410455148434
Did anyone see Hillary on Greta last night? I saw the promos but it got too late and I went to bed.
She was looking quite prezzy if you ask me.
So now we have Sarah with momentum, Newt with some momentum, and Hillary out to unseat OBama. HMMM.
Will Obama step down? (Sickness, family issues? blah blah etc?) and make it easy for Hillary?
or will they have a knock down drag out. My 2 cents is he will step down because they are both cut from the same cloth. Socialism is more important. AND Obama goes out as hero of the left, having done all the “Daring legislation that no one ever thought could be done”. Now comes Hillary who can straighten up the house.
SPARE ME THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE!
The ultimate question. Will Sarah run (I think she will), can she beat Hillary, and what role will Newt have. I see him in the mix.
What if it was Palin/Gingrich? Gingrich knocking heads for Sarah and having that inside DC background.
If Hillary runs, who is her running mate? Bill? Just kidding, but who? The whole group is pretty tainted. What about a RINO like Powell.
Just thinking out loud. Any thoughts?
I’ve been out with a sick 86 year old mom all week – so not sure what’s been posting and what hasn’t. But just in case it hasn’t, what on EARTH has gotten into Eric Cantor that he spoke out again Bachmann’s setting up a teaparty caucus???
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/07/20/eric-cantor-the-tea-partys-better-off-as-a-grassroots-movement-not-a-house-caucus/
Well I kinda agree to a point. Once the government gets in charge of something they always muck it up.
You’ve got a point. But somehow I can’t see Bachmann doing that…. ??
She’s also something of a lightning rod. Keep them all out.
Agreed, Bev. One rallying cry of the TP is “You work for us”. The idea of reps meeting without “us” sets off my sniff-o-meter. Better to call themselves a “conservative” caucus and individual TP members can decide if they are doing it right.
That is her premise, that only every day hard working Americans will be heard by this Caucus. Not defending – just clarifying
I didn’t like the idea of a Tea Party caucus. Nothing screws up an effective spontaneous grassroots happenin’ like organizing it and starting to pass out forms.
I thought Kevin ws HillBuzz was supposed to be on Fox & Friends this past Sunday A.M. I actually had it on for the whole 3 hours hoping to catch him. Does anyone know why he didn’t make it on the show (she interviewed Bethenny Frankel of the the NY Housewives instead). I am sorry to say the Gigi Gaston story is not staying in the forefront of the news.
Thet got bumped – and that dismays me as well! Journolist…. how far has it spread?
Kevin said he was bumped, but it could be on next week
Why do the repubicans act so stupid? Read the article linked below and you will know.
Statist elites are statist elites . Donks odr dopes (repubics).

You’ve got to check out an extensive bit Rush did yesterday (Monday) about “the ruling class.” It was from an article in the American Spectator as I recall. I’m afraid it clears up alot of the “innocent confusion” we have had about Republicans who get power hungry once they’re on the other side of the Potomac.
One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn’t belong. Can you tell which one is not like the others by the time I finish my song?
I know! I Know! All ARE co-existing except…

So, what do you think of this:
I got a virus/malware on the computer that locked out the desktop. It took seven hours to get computer back. This thing was b.a.d.. Well, two days later the bugger was back and another five hours and I could use the computer again. The third time was the biggie. It looks like it is all fixed AGAIN. However, as I reloaded my toolbar with all my favorite sites, something eerie was/is going on. On all of Breitbart’s sites, Michelle Malkin, Orly Taitz, Canada Free Press, CitizenWells, I Hate the Media, American Spectator, etc ALL are missing the links to other sites that run along the side. Only two out of eighteen sites still have the links. They are HillBuzz and Black and Right. Go figure. Oh, and the links on these two sites DO work.
I got a really bad one for trying to link to the story that Sarkozy considered Obama “mad” – crazy in the lexicon of the Brits. I had to completely wipe every thing before I was able to even use the computer again, worst part of it? The virus downloaded nothing that I could detect but Porn sites. Ugggghhh.
interesting because I use a reader called Feed Demon and it has frozen on me a few times recently…. wonder what is going on.
The most important thing happening here today was my conversation with a police officer, who moonlights and has his own business that details boats, cars, trucks, buses, etc. He has young kids working for him and has had to lay off a few. He said he has 2 years to retirement but can’t retire yet. People are not “detailing” anything these days and he counts on the moonlighting to pay his mortgage, which he can’t get the bank to refinance with a lower rate because he makes too much money. He said he feels a revolution coming. I asked if he meant a hot one or cold one. He said at the polls but if that doesn’t work…and he trailed off saying he doesn’t know what will happen. He voted for Utopia. He is voting R right down the line in November “to stop this power hungry man”. You could see how frustrated he was by the change in his voice and in his face while talking about all the mistakes made in the last 18 months.
U.S. may help bin Laden’s family relocate here?!
The idea that this is even being considered is outrageous. If this is allowed to happen, the outrage over SB 1070 and the mosque at Ground Zero will sound like minor grumblings of miscontent. The idea that we would welcome the family of the founder of Al Qaeda — the organization responsible for the 9/11 attacks that killed almost 3,000 innocent civilians — is so horrific that it’s beyond comprehension.
http://hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2010/07/20/u-s-may-help-bin-ladens-family-relocate-here/
I swear on everything that is holy to me this ain’t happening. This is totally out of line.
It’s almost as though they actually want to hand issue after issue over to Sarah Palin. How bizarre.
Her missile against the Ground Zero mosque was fired off and struck home. There was some collateral damage — Mayor Bloomberg’s credibility took a big hit.

this is a must read at American Thinker:

My husband is an aeronautical and logistics engineer. I might not know much about engineering, but from the time that I knew Stephen Chu had been put in charge of directing the activity of BHP in trying to cap the well, I knew that this was a bad, bad move. Chu is the ultimate dickhead. Yeah I know he has a Nobel Prize for something, but it is not in engineering!!
Just think that the well could have been capped at the end of May except that Chu interfered and stopped them from pouring in the drilling mud… what a dickhead!! He knows nothing about engineering and the Oboomboom administration should have allowed BP to make all decisions relating to the well. The Oboomboom regime should only be in charge of the clean up. BP should have nothing to do with the clean.
Talk about incompetent fools… they take the cake when it comes to incompetence… and I do not care if they all have Nobel Prizes because that means nothing when they are this stupid and inefficient!!
