Toldja So: Jon Huntsman Begins Third Party Presidential Effort (In Exchange for Obama’s Promise to Make Him Secretary of State)
I’ve been saying this for some time now: Jon Huntsman has been promised the Secretary of State position in a second Obama administration in exchange for Huntsman splitting the Republican vote enough in the general election for Obama to squeak to victory a la Ross Perot in 1992. Huntsman today is talking up the “time for a third party” garbage that’s a precursor to him definitively launching a third party run in the spring (presuming Willard “Mittens” Romney is the GOP nominee…as Huntsman was specifically chosen to be the third party alternative to Romney).
For some reason, Republicans are determined not to see what’s clearly happening here — but, then again, the Party of Stupid falls for Democrat traps as often as the Coyote is duped by the Road Runner in the cartoons.
Huntsman was only in the GOP’s nominating contests to build name awareness for a third party run…and he’s only running third party to snag enough votes from the Republicans in the general election for Obama to win re-election. Huntsman will not mount a full, national campaign: but expect him to run third party in key states where his presence will tip the scales to Obama (like in Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida).
Sometimes, following Republican politics is like watching a horror movie I’ve seen many times before with someone who has never seen it — or stupidly forgets what happens no matter how many times we watch it. Like an amnesiac or someone with a recent severe head injury. No matter how many times I’ll say, “Cover your eyes, the bloodbath is coming!” the amnesiac insists, “Oh, you’re crazy…that will never happen”. And when it does, all the amnesiac says is, “Oh”. Won’t stop the dummy from failing to see the next bloodbath coming though. It’s a vicious yet predictable cycle.
As a reminder, here is the Democrats’ strategy for Barack Obama’s re-election:
Step One: Make Romney the nominee
Step Two: Use Occupy & Persecute re-election strategy to decimate Romney in general election
Step Three: Enter Jon Huntsman in the race as a third party candidate to split enough of the Republican vote to squeak Obama to a win
Step Four: Irreversibly transform this country into something unrecognizable
Meanwhile, Republicans are essentially replaying their 2008 strategy — which can be summed up in one word: LOSE.
It’s really and truly shameful.

The strategy is an interesting one. The failure is in the tactical decision to use Huntsman as the 3rd party candidate. I find it hard to imagine that he could successfully draw enough votes away from Romney to really make a dent. He has the same Romney Mormon baggage if the left intends to attack in that way, and he is barely distinguisable from either Obama or Romney on a variety of measures. Obama would do better to go after some prize for Paul to run as a 3rd party candidate than that one-lung Huntman.
"The party of stupid" is right. Why pub's don't go after the juggular on payroll tax cut (which is Social Security cut) is beyond me. I'll never be a leftist and watching the right operate without a brain is painful.
Who, pray tell, is going to vote for him? For the most part his efforts as a third party candidate
will not affect the repub candidate.
So right on Kevin. We are going to screw this up so badly, and we'll fall over the cliff.
*sigh* Warn us you did. But the cucumber sandwich crowd doesn't listen to outsiders.

"After tonight’s debate, in which Ron Paul and Mitt Romney repeatedly attacked Rick Santorum over his 16-year record in Congress, the former US Senator for Pennsylvania hinted that something nefarious was going on."
… “You have to ask Congressman Paul and Governor Romney what they’ve got going together,”
Santorum told reporters in the spin room in Mesa, Arizona. “Their commercials look a lot ali…ke and so do their attacks.”
Santorum’s top strategist John Brabender went even further, charging that the two men had “joined forces” and were coordinating attacks against his man
“Clearly there’s a tag team strategy between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. For all I know, Mitt Romney might be considering Ron Paul as his running mate. Clearly there is now an alliance between those two and you saw that certainly in the debate.” http://www.wnd.com/2012/02/romney-to-make-ron-pau…
"The point is that there is an alliance between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. This is what I have been remiss in not mentioning. So last night after the debate, I start doing show prep and I see all this stuff in the British press about Romney may be offering Rand Paul the vice presidency and I'm saying to myself, "I know I mentioned this in an e-mail to some of my friends." I told my brother about it and went and found the e-mail, and that's the one that I just read to you. (interruption) No, no, no. Look, don't misunderstand. I'm just stating an obvious.
I'm not being critical here. I'm just pointing out something that is obvious. Romney is never criticized by Paul but Paul has criticized everybody else that has become the most popular not-Mitt of the moment. Last night it was Santorum. "You're a fake." Well, I mean this is really cool. Here you go making excuses for it. You did it but now you're running for president, you wouldn't do it. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2012/02/23/are_…

"Whether it's true or not that there has been an actual meeting of the minds in conversations and strategy developed between the two guys, it is clear that there's a hands-off policy between Paul to Romney and vice-versa. Paul does not attack Romney. Ron Paul attacks every one of Romney's opponents; Romney doesn't attack Paul.
"And so last night, we start seeing these stories in the British press. One of them, Toby Harnden, was that Ron Paul would be offered the veep slot. Then another one followed that and said maybe Rand Paul, and then Rand Paul put out a statement saying he would be honored to be Romney's VP.
And that's when I said, "Damn it! Damn it, I wrote that e-mail on the 13th of January. I saw this, I knew what was happening, and I didn't say anything about it." http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2012/02/23/are_…
Didn't this moron endorse Romney?
Huntsman can bite my ass. When he was Governor in Utah, two young relatives of mine reported their registered sex-offender stepfather (a resident of Utah) had molested them. Due to interstate differences in reporting, however, Utah did nothing to him. I wrote letters to every authority, all the way up to the Governor's office. He just turned it back to the local police, who had done nothing to begin with…their reasoning: the children are now several states away… so they're safe. If that's how Huntsman lets child victims get treated…he won't do the rest of us any favors.
Rush covered the Romney/Paul collusion on his show today-said he had noticed early signs of this back on Jan 13th and emailed friends about it., but he was mad at himself for not speaking about it publicly sooner. To me, this Huntsman thing is infuriating…absolutely the worst news I've heard all day. I mean you told us before Kevin-I remember that-but now that he has said so himself I am nearly apoplectic with disdain. Savage keeps saying it's BHO all the way for a second term, but his reasons are not well articulated. He just knows a loser when he sees one and the Republicans are blowing their chance by not nominating a conservative. Who would vote for this weasel Huntsman anyway? A bunch of mother lovin' zombies?
Huntsman pulled so little votes when he ran as a repub, I cannot imagine he'd pull enough to make BO win again. But, what do I know?
I think Huntsman may take as many votes away from Obama as he would from Mittens. But we are not talking a lot of votes. But when we remember Florida 2000, a few hundred votes may be enough.
He may have pulled only a few votes in the early campaign, but a big shot of democrat funds would go a long way towards more name recognition. Also, it would pull some of the Republican money away from anti-Obama ads to have to defend stuff from Huntsman. It would be interesting to see if Huntsman ads went after Obama, too.
Ron Paul.

Kevin, it really is uncanny how you forecast these things!
I'd give second thoughts to the Romney-Paul rumors. While listening to Rush over the last couple months, when he'd mention presidential candidates, he would omit Paul in the list. You don't vote "No" on violations of the citizen's liberty while a member of Congress for years, then hop on board ship with the pre-cursor to Obamacare after a track record like that. Unless, Paul's been setting this up for decades.
RoPaul knows he doesn't have a chance in Hades of winning, but he is as dynastic as almost all other politicians are. He wants his son to "carry the torch" and that is the deal he made with Romney – Rand Paul for VP. Both of this men are horrid!
All I can say is…as usual, you were right Kevin although I have thought Ron Paul a nut for many, many years. That, however, does not change the fact that the republicans are committing suicide as a party and I've stated that before on this blog.
God help us to get off our butts and get out the vote against the Obliteration (Obama) of not only our country but life as we have known it. It is no accidnet that the US State Dept is now CHARGING people who wish to give up their citizenship. People can see the handwriting on the wall.
