Todd Palin gives Newt a Thumbs-Up
Todd Palin has thrown his hat in the ring…for Newt Gingrich. It may not be as explosive as an endorsement from Sarah but it’s the next best thing and some people are saying that Todd may be speaking for the entire Palin family so it could go a long way in helping Newt’s numbers…especially in South Carolina.
I am still baffled by the silence of the Tea Party. I read several articles today that said that the Tea Party wasn’t well organized on a national level and was fractured on who to throw their support behind. Most felt like Herman Cain was the man but, obviously, many were disappointed by how that turned out. There isn’t one central “leader” of the movement so different Tea Party groups are supporting different candidates. Some like Rick Santorum…some Rick Perry…some Newt Gingrich but none are publicly behind Mitt Romney. Perhaps the Tea Party, at this moment in time, will function best on a local level…helping to elect conservative candidates to the House and Senate. Who knows?
I think that having at least one Palin behind Newt will draw in some of the Tea Party crowd…hopefully.
I really like Todd Palin….a lot.

Bridget, you wrote a good slant on this news…
I'm just watching it unfold…
The timing of the announcement is perfect.
I am in a wait-and-see mode. One, I cannot imagine Todd Palin giving ABC News an interview. Two, ABC News lies. Consistently and predictably. I can invision Todd saying good things about all of the Republican candidates at some sort of event, then ABC News selecting his comment about Newt to be an "endorsement." The term "endorsement" bothers me. I guess we will know soon enough because I'm sure Sarah will set the record straight on her Facebook page.
Bridget, the Tea Party is not a monolithic entity. The largest national group Tea Party Patriots (TPP) is a 501 (c)3 and with that cannot make endorsements. With this said the numerous groups affiliated with TPP have various governing positions regarding endorsements, some do, while others don't.
Yet each group encourages their members to "do their homework," learn about candidates and to get involved in the campaigns of candidates they support. The TPP have turned from continual rallies to education of the electorate. Educating the voting public is a tremendous task with having to continually counter the lame stream media's misinformation.
Like you, I believe that having Todd Palin endorse Gingrich will supply additional positive factors toward patriots across the country supporting Newt.
I read somewhere that Tea Party Express was going to announce their support before SC.
I thought it odd because when Amy came to Indiana to do an endorsement for Senate candidate
Mourdock I am pretty sure she said that they do not endorse those running for president. Only those running for senate and house.
Individuals of Tea Party Express can endorse a candidate but not the organization.
I would think that would be the same for Tea Party Nation, Tea Party Patriots, etc.
I may be mistaken.
My husband and I are involved in a local group and it cannot endorse as a group. We have any candidate that wants to come and speak so members can hear them and decide on their own.
I keep coming back to Newt. Now that Todd has endorsed and I believe he is speaking for Sarah, too, this is where I am settling for good. It confirms what my gut is telling me – that Newt is the one to take on Obama.
Mmmmm. Todd.
That's all I have to say.
X2. That is a sweet piece of man-candy..
I still don't like Newt. I don't like him and I don't trust him.

Are there politicians you can trust? I remember working for Mike Pence, till he turned on his country on immigration and along with Bush called Minute Men vigilantes. Our entire system of Government is predicated upon the idea you cannot trust a politician. Power corrupts. Our Founders understood this and hence tried to minimize the lure of power by limiting the role of government.
You may like a politician, but you should never trust one. Verify their every action and keep them under constant scrutiny.
"Verify their every action and keep them under constant scrutiny."
Hopefully, this is the one thing we have all learned in recent years.
