Sharon Meroni
Sharon Meroni is a mom from suburban Chicago who launched the organization Defend the Vote in 2010, which works to expose security flaws in Illinois’ election system. No one’s ever attempted anything like this before in what’s arguably the most corrupt state in the union. Sharon’s crusade against voter fraud involves three separate entities:
* City of Chicago Board of Election Commissioners — covering Chicago itself
* State of Illinois Board of Election — which involves the entire state
* Cook County Clerk’s Office — which handles voting in suburban Cook County (which is what’s left of Cook County if you exclude everything in the City of Chicago’s city limits)
It’s amazing to watch Sharon in action because she’s completely unafraid of challenging the corruption in greater Chicagoland that impacts our elections. She’s routinely threatened and attacked for what she’s doing, but she’s never daunted by anything the Left throws at her. It’s remarkable watching Defend the Vote expose the illegal activities in this state…and to see Sharon and her group make progress in forcing changes that make our election system more secure.
