“The Undefeated” is not about Sarah Palin…it is about YOU

Posted on July 29, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2008 Vice Presidential Campaign, 2012 Presidential Campaign, Action Items, Polarize This!, Purple Team - Palin, Sarah Palin

My boyfriend Justin and I drove up to Milwaukee to see “The Undefeated” on Wednesday.

It’s hard to get Justin to anything politically-related because he bores very easily, especially if charts and graphs pop up and someone starts talking about energy resource development or the minutia of legislative maneuvers in various states. Justin likes playing World of Warcraft, listening to music on his iPhone, and screwing around on Facebook.

But, Justin supports Governor Sarah Palin very much, though he knows shockingly little about her or her time as Governor of Alaska.  I had to trick him into seeing “The Undefeated”, however, because the movie’s not playing in Chicago and the closest theater showing it was at a mall in Waukesha, about two hours away from us.  There is, however, a spy-themed restaurant in downtown Milwaukee that requires a secret password to get in and has waitstaff who role-play like it’s a Cold War safe house…so getting Justin psyched for a road trip to eat there easily included a stop at the Mayfield Mall to see “The Undefeated”, since of course I timed our trip to get us to Wisconsin while the Safe House was closed between lunch and dinner shifts.

You betcha.

The theater was quite full for the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday. Peeking in other movies that were playing, “The Undefeated” had as many people watching it as Transformers, Horrible Bosses, Bridesmaids, and other Hollywood films did.  The difference was that in “The Undefeated” the audience didn’t just sit there staring at a giant screen absorbing loud explosions and silently taking in special effects.  In “The Undefeated”, audiences were cheering Governor Palin’s political speeches and thinking about what they could do to defeat both the Left and the Cocktail Party GOP establishment in their own ways, following the example of a small town hockey mom who decided one day to do just that on her own.

“The Undefeated” is nominally a documentary about Governor Sarah Palin, but it’s really about YOU.

Justin was glued to the screen throughout the whole movie, which I’ve never seen happen.  He didn’t update his Facebook or text message once during the screening, which is something I’ve never seen happen before.  He asked me a lot of questions during the movie, about who different people like Andrew Breitbart and Tammy Bruce were. He had no idea who Meg Stapleton or Thomas Van Flein were, but came away from the film admiring them.  The movie held his attention and really made Justin think about how terrible the GOP Cocktail Party establishment really is and how much those fools enable the Left to destroy our country.

I have no idea what the film’s director intended when he set out to make this movie, but this is the impact “The Undefeated” had on Justin.  For me, it was the shot of adrenaline I needed to rev me up to do everything I can for Governor Palin’s presidential campaign, because I believe she is truly the best hope we have of rescuing this country from the Left and putting America back on the right track again.

Whenever I hear Governor Palin speak, I think about being back in grade school learning about various historical figures who were there in moments when America needed them most.  Some are fictional, like Johnny Tremain, from a novel that inspired a younger me to wonder what I would have done if I was alive during the American Revolution.  The nuns who taught me in Catholic School had a lot of very creative lesson plans, so our classes were forever putting on skits or reading creative writing essays assigned to us where we had to imagine being Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, Mercy Otis Warren, Martin Luther King Jr., or other determined, passionate, American heroes. Just as these people rose to the challenges of their times and stood formidably in America’s corner when needed, so does Governor Palin.

We are in a period of immense crisis, when America is very truly being attacked from three clear sides: the Left, which wants to destroy the country as we know it and transform the United States into a third world heap; the Cocktail Party GOP establishment, whose genetic stupidity and obsession with media-attention and false-praise commit these self-centered fools to do the Left’s bidding as often as possible, regardless of the detrimental effects on our country; and external forces like George Soros, who in James Bond villain-style just want to watch the world burn, for the fun of it.

After seeing “The Undefeated”, Justin couldn’t believe how many times Governor Palin called the Left out for what it’s doing to America.  He cheered every time the Governor was shown taking on the GOP Cocktail Party establishment.  Though the film didn’t mention Soros specifically, it did briefly address the September 2008 Lehman Brothers financial meltdown Soros engineered as an “October Surprise” to secure the election for Obama.  Justin knew Soros was behind this and asked why no one in the media or the Republican ranks has ever talked about what really happened that September and how people like Soros were involved.

Justin still doesn’t understand the media is 100% in the tank for the Left, and works aggressively to push the Left’s agenda.  He also doesn’t fully understand why the Cocktail Party GOP establishment behaves the way it does, or why it’s pushing limp, soggy sandwiches like Mittens Romney or Tim Pawlenty for the 2012 presidential nomination…with the media’s great assistance.

“Why does the media want Mittens to be the nominee so badly and why do Republicans let the media pick their candidates, when the media wants Democrats to win?” Justin asked in the car on the way to dinner.

“Because the Cocktail Party GOP establishment doesn’t care about winning elections, and in many cases is happier losing.  Losing means they don’t need a plan for when the election is over and they don’t have to take on the responsibility of fixing the problems we’re facing.  They can just have their cocktail parties and fundraisers, wear nice suits and look important, and court the media’s fawning adoration by signing up for anything labeled “bipartisan” no matter how much whatever this is hurts the country”, I explained to him.

“Why do people let the Cocktail Party get away with this?” Justin asked.

I have never been able to answer this, because I have never — and will never — understand it.

But Justin’s an example of someone who only nominally pays attention to the news and who thinks most political discussions are boring. He also forever believes that someone else is taking care of whatever needs to be taken care of, so he doesn’t need to worry about it.  He assumes that Republicans and Democrats are different, and that if the Democrats are doing something bad that Republicans will stop them because that’s what Republicans are there for.

Justin has not spent much time at all looking at what the Cocktail Party GOP establishment is really all about or how it conducts itself in power.

I doubt many people who don’t read political sites all day, every day, have taken the time to really ponder this.

By watching what Governor Palin has faced through the years going up against the Cocktail Party GOP establishment, and enduring the full-bore attacks from the Left since 2008, it’s very clear just how difficult fighting these anti-American villains really is at the end of the day.

Look at all the battles Governor Palin has engaged in…and won…never losing her fighting spirit because she loves this country so much.  You can’t watch her in “The Undefeated” without feeling her patriotism wash over you, to inspire you to get up out of your seat and do whatever you can for the Resistance too.

While there’s nothing in the movie that supporters of Governor Palin don’t already know (if they have read Going Rogue and have been following her closely on Facebook), seeing her story up on the screen and hearing her words through the years as she consistently took on the Left and the Cocktail Party GOP establishment in equal measure really is inspiring on a personal level.

If this hockey mom from a small town could do it…then so can you.

Maybe you aren’t going to become a mayor or a natural resources commissioner or a governor or a presidential candidate yourself, but there’s no reason you can’t do SOMETHING in your own way to drive the Left nuts and rattle the Cocktail Party GOP establishment.

Just like Governor Palin did, starting back to when she was a private citizen like the rest of us…and continuing into her post-governorship role as a private citizen again.

Two days after seeing the movie, Justin is still asking questions about what he saw up on the screen.  He wants to know about all the bad things the Cocktail Party GOP establishment does and why Republican voters tolerate that garbage.

I have never seen Justin this tuned-in regarding politics.  It’s amazing, actually.

So while “The Undefeated” is not perfect, and it’s clear it was put together on a very limited budget, it’s a marvelous success in that it truly does inspire viewers to think about what THEY too can do to help America the way Governor Palin consistently has.

At it’s heart, the movie’s not about Sarah Palin…but it really is about YOU and what YOU feel when you see the Governor on the screen, hear her words ring loudly and clearly, and hopefully answer her call to get involved and join the Resistance too.

See this movie however and wherever you can…and take as many Justins of your own with you too!

Kevin, I love your energy. You ask:

    >>“Why do people let the Cocktail Party get away with this?” Justin asked. I have never been able to answer this, because I have never — and will never — understand it.

I have given this a lot of thought, since my formerly-liberal friend (disillusioned by the 2008 election when she was called a racist for not supporting Obama) has asked me over and over, in one form or another. "Why do corporations let Jesse Jackson shake them down by giving money to Operation PUSH when he threatens to tar them as racist when they're actually not? Why do Republican politicians tolerate government handouts that degrade inner city communities? Why do they keep expanding entitlements?"

Ultimately, I believe it boils down to this: AMERICANS FEEL GUILTY BECAUSE OF SLAVERY AND JIM-CROWISM. Liberals have found their leverage over American hearts and minds. Calling someone a racist is, next to calling them a child molester, the worst thing you can do. Bonus: like a fake child molestation charge, it's also essentially unprovable, since it's an accusation against one's conscience, not one's behavior. Jesse Jackson doesn't care how many Black college applicants are unqualified; he can still say the admissions officer harbors racial hatred against them. If the admissions officer shows the low test scores and bad grades, Jesse will airily state that such measurements are "thinly disguised racism." Ultimately, all the admissions officer/hiring manager/loan officer can do is protest, "I'm not racist!" And Jesse Jackson, who is the officially recognized authority on this matter can end the discussion by saying, "Yes, you are." This wedge of race has caused banks to fail (CRA), colleges to lower their standards, primary and secondary education systems to teach kids that achievement is bad/self-esteem is good and to eschew facts and knowledge in preference of inculcating guilt, and the military to let terrorists walk, whether in Afghanistan or at Fort Hood. You see how deep and sharp this wedge is?

Kevin, I'm a Catholic school grad, too, taught by nuns, and the most powerful weapons in their arsenal were Guilt, Shame, and Fear. Race is liberal fuel for those weapons. (Environmentalism is another fuel, since it can always be tied to healthy children and fluffy animals.) In a perverse twist, one can only be vulnerable to those weapons as long as one believes in their power; as long as one is afraid and unwilling to stand up and ROAR Jesse Jackson down.

I think the old Cocktail Party Republicans are still vulnerable to those weapons. They still cower and shiver in fear of being called a name. They still hand Jesse Jackson his power over them by giving in to their fears.

I wanted this to be very short and crisp, and look what I've done. I have a lot more to say about The Undefeated, which I'll put in another comment.

Hammer, meet nail head. You are absolutely correct. The power of guilt is staggering, and the politics of guilt even more so. This is at the core of just about everything Ayn Rand has written. Her most poignant, though sometimes overlooked, chapter in Atlas Shrugged is titled "The Sanction of the Victim." It explains the entire book, in a nutshell. We allow ourselves to become victims of whatever blame/guilt is laid upon us by the system through sanctioning, or validating, that guilt. When we find the strength to stop saying, "I am guilty of that," we will have the power to stop being victims of the system.

Thanks for pointing out that we are really under attack from withing on three sides. When people like Pat Caddell (on Fox New's Hannity the other night) say that "it's both" parties they are the ones with their eyes wide open. Most people don't get that it's not 'republicans' it's RINOs/GOP Cocktail members against people in their own party the conservatives/tea party . One the left it is socialists/communists/marxists/progressives/liberals against blue dogs. They don't get that it's not the parties democrat and republican. It's the factions that have infiltrated and taken over those parties in an attempt to blur the lines.

“Why do people let the Cocktail Party get away with this?”

Because most people really have better things to do than be political wonks. And that's great; the world needs a variety of people and the whims of politicians should not be as important as they currently are.

As for the people who really *are* into politics, and therefore do – or should – know better, I think there are a number of reasons.

The first is linked to the reason above: The kind of people who go into politics as lifers tend to become detached, even if they didn't start out that way. It takes a particular type of person to go into that arena and last the distance.

It leaves idealists in a bind – the only people with the experience and nous to really change things have no reason to. The lifers are the ones with the power, and the practical experience. It's always difficult to tell whether a politician is being "reasonable" and "practical", or if they're selling out. Most people will give the person with the actual experience the benefit of the doubt.

    About The Undefeated:

I think it's about Sarah, not me. I think Steve Bannon wants her to run, and I'm more convinced than ever that she MUST. I know of no other politician who will work, as Sarah repeatedly says, "with the heart of a servant" in the White House.

Justin's reaction is significant. I think the Justins of this country are the most important targets of The Undefeated. There are confused and uninformed moderates who hear some vague buzz that Sarah is radical, stupid, and whiny. Since they aren't political junkies, they have no facts to counter these charges and they're just as happy to believe them as to question them.

In fact, it's not important that large numbers of liberals or confused moderates watch The Undefeated; it's more important that the weak-tea Republicans who do watch it and who currently dismiss Sarah as having "too many negatives" will see it and begin to reluctantly reverse the buzz. The Undefeated, to me, is about reversing the buzz.

And if (please God, WHEN) Sarah announces, a lot of people will watch in On Demand or on DVD to see what she's all about, and the buzz will become a roar that will drown out the Palin-hatred. Can you imagine Obama facing Sarah in debate? That's why I keep predicting: if Sarah runs, Obama will refuse to engage in debate. He'll have every excuse in the world ("I'm too busy, there's no point in talking to an extremist, there's no need since you already know where I stand.") You heard it here first.

Excellent article and review of The Undefeated, Kevin! IMO, one answer to that "unanswerable question" about the Cocktail Party GOP's apparent lack of concern for this country is that most of the elected or appointed officials within our federal government have become what I call the "American political aristocracy," who either have served too long and/or come from "family dynasties" and believe they and their progeny have an almost "divine right" to the seats they hold. Along with that goes the money that continues to flow to them from lobbyists and corporate political PACs. How many members of Congress have added millions to their wealth during their terms as supposed "public servants"? At any rate, your article/review have inspired me to buy tickets to The Undefeated for a number of people on my contact list, and to accompany as many as possible to see it. Thanks for all you do!

The point of the Cocktail Party GOP is to preserve business as usual, taking their turn at leadership when necessary, keeping the money flowing for all of the establishment projects (much of which returns to them as corporate campaign donations). 'We, the People' get screwed and our descendants will pay the bill.

They don't yet understand that we know their game and took back a big chunk of power in the 2010 elections. Their rule is temporary. A leader is emerging who isn't into partisanship or arguing over inconsequential matters in the name of a party victory, a leader who knows the difference between imaginary spending cuts and real ones, a leader who has balanced budgets and cut the size of government. She is a leader who knows what BS smells like and wants none of it. She is a leader who doesn't represent special interest groups. She represents 'We, the People'. That leader is Gov. Sarah Palin.

I think that even though the GOP is always thought of as the party of "big business", the vast majority of elected officials in the GOP have NEVER worked outside of government……they are no more able to understand how to successfully run a business than the average Democrat elected official!

The Cocktail Party GOP is filled with a bunch of country club wanna-bes who like to pretend that they're the smartest people in the room but most of them inherited (or married) their money….just like the Dems. So, we're all paying the price for the fact that theses people are unable to actually succeed in their own lives/businesses so they spend their time coming up with ways to regulate other people who don't want or need their help!

I think that a lot of people who support Sarah Palin get incredibly disheartened and discouraged when the drum is constantly being banged that her numbers are so low, she has no base and so on and so forth. Which I think have to be lies but NO ONE will refute them. Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham run away so fast when they hear "Sarah Palin" that they cause minor whirl-winds. Instead we are preached at never endingly by the likes of Bill O'Reilly (who can't shut-up about her "low numbers"), Charles Krauthammer and other so-called Conservatives who tell us that only Romney–maybe Pawlenty–can win but no one with low numbers like Sarah Palin stands a chance. Lies!

Just saw The Undefeated last night here in Columbus OH. It was worth seeing it on the big screen. It is almost indescribable how seeing her whole story from start to finish can touch a nerve so deep within that you just know in your heart this woman has a destiny. Now, I don't know if she has already accomplished this role or not- bc she has been darn effective up to this point. But I don't think her history has been completely written. I LOVE how she refuses to play the game. That is so my kind of woman. She is my age and we have many life stories in common. Common…that is another word that resonates so clearly. She is common. Her life is already full. She doesn't need to be president. She could have been just as happy fishing in Bristol Bay raising her wonderful family as she is running for higher office. That drives them nuts!!! The hypocrisy of saying "She should be home raising those kids……" Are you kidding me???? Would they DARE say that to Angelina or Madonna? I do hope she runs. She has already been vetted. What more could they possibly throw at this woman? Every stupid scenario has been thrown out there. This is why she can just step into the race at this point. All we need is the green light. We have her back.
