The Race Card — a Losing Hand

Posted on June 18, 2012 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Enough already. You leftists have dined out on the race card way past it’s “sell by” date. You are all patting yourselves on the back because you feel that by electing a black man president, you have righted wrongs done by our ancestors more than 100 years ago. Well, you can wear the mantle of guilt for something you had no part in, but I won’t. I never owned a slave. My ancestors never owned slaves. We can all agree that slavery was an abomination, but we fought a war in which hundreds of thousands of WHITE AMERICANS (along with thousands of BLACK AMERICANS) gave their lives; the Civil War put an end to slavery in the United States. You claim that anyone who dissents from or disagrees with President Obama is a RAAAACCISSST, but before you hurl the epithet of RAAAACCISSST, I pose the following scenario to you:

Picture a young, handsome, well-dressed, articulate educated man with a lovely family. This man is clearly a good, loving husband and father. He is a lawyer. He never actually practices law but does teach some law classes as a lecturer (not a professor) at a prestigious University, and holds various “consulting” positions as a community activist, and member of various boards. He is hand picked by a sitting state Senator to take the state senate seat she expects to vacate when she runs for U.S. Congress. But she loses her bid for Congress and returns to run for her old State Senate seat. Rather than step aside for her, he refuses to drop out of the race.  Using a campaign strategy of exposing dirty personal details about his opponents, causing them to drop out of the race one by one, he runs virtually unopposed, and he becomes a state Senator. So he effectively stepped over the woman who hand-picked him for her old Senate seat, to run for that seat. Though he has had no experience in either running a business or even punching a time clock himself, he is now a State Senator. Then, after one term, because he feels he is ready and has earned it (and has never had his qualifications questioned), he runs for U.S. Senator. He wins that election. While in the U.S. Senate, he does not sponsor any bills and votes “present” most of the time he votes. Based on this background, he decides he will run for president. Oh, and by the way, this man had to surrender his law license for reasons no one will explain. Also, no one will produce his academic records. Oh, and one more thing: this man is white. Would you vote for him?

The question, of course, is rhetorical. No thinking American would. We expect our president to be a man of vast experience, someone who has proved his or her mettle and someone we know to be a proud American who is qualified to run our country.

Correspondent Sam Donaldson has made the following statement about those who don’t support Obama: “Many on the political right believe this president ought not to be there – they oppose him not for his polices and political view but for who he is, an African American.” Where does Donaldson get off???? Who are these “many on the political right”? My guess is Donaldson doesn’t know any personally, as the “liberal elite” (i.e., leftists) wouldn’t soil themselves with actually getting to know a conservative. So many of the self-righteous left proclaim loudly that conservatives are RAAAACCISSSTs who have absolutely no reason to disagree with Obama’s policies whatsoever, so their objection to him can ONLY be his skin color.

Right….because conservatives would be behind him all the way if only he was white. We’d love Obamacare, love his new executive orders promoting amnesty, be totally behind Eric Holder’s racism and lies and coverups, love Obama’s support of partial birth abortion, agree with Michelle Obama’s not being proud of her country. We would be thrilled that he bows (literally) to our enemies and betrays our friends. We’d be all for him suing individual states within his own country, and we would be thrilled with his class warfare, pitting rich against the not-so-rich, white against black, men against women, party against party, religion against religion.  Above all, we would all be ecstatic that the number of people on food stamps has DOUBLED in his 3 1/2 years in office, while unemployment continues to grow. We’d totally support his stopping the Keystone pipeline and cheer all of his efforts to prevent energy independence in America. All that would be hunky dory with us if only Obama was white.

You on the left are the true racists. You don’t see Obama as the president, you see him as the BLACK president. Conservatives see him as the president with whom they disagree, and leftists’ knee-jerk reaction is to leap to his defense; they automatically fling charges of RAAAACCISSST at anyone who dares to disagree with him. Leftists see NOTHING but skin color. They feel superior to him and always defend him, because they think he is inferior, weaker, and dumber than they are, and he needs their protection. Conservatives DON’T SEE skin color. We see a man in the White House who is doing things to our country that we believe go against what this country stands for, and we wish to stop the damage before it gets any worse. And we believe Obama is a grown man who should be able to weather criticism and the realities of a political campaign without whining. We believe a man who has been elected President of the United States is strong enough to take care of himself and fight these battles without every leftist nanny jumping in to wipe his chin with a bib.

We love and defend America, and all Americans, and we just want it back. This is what drives conservatives. Skin color does not drive our activism — preservation of America does. Leftists, however, would prefer to let America decline as long as they can say they have put a black man in the White House. Well, you have put a black man in the White House. And he is destroying our country. Conservatives want to replace him with someone, anyone, whom we believe will stop the bleeding. Leftists, on the other hand, are much more interested in the race of the man in the White House.

Watch (or read) any news story about President Obama, written by a leftist (tip: just turn on MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NBC, or ABC news), and within less than a minute, the writer (or reader) will make reference to Obama’s skin color. They cannot separate him from his race.

Sam Donaldson has proven this.

Geraldine Ferraro was thrown under the bus for making this point during the 2008 primary race. She was absolutely correct but it was fascinating to see how quickly the MSM and the political left went after her for pointing out the truth.

Even now, the press is protecting Bambi because they can’t give up on their fantasy that he is really doing a great job and it’s just those nasty racists that are screwing everything up for him!

VikingMom – you are absolutely correct about what happened to Geraldine Ferraro, and how the MSM is protecting bo. My perspective is that the MSM does not believe there is anything better for them. They have to protect him with their lives. Yes, everyone should know that bo is incompetent, and you would have thought that common human dignity would have been prescribed to bo where he would try to make up for this incompetence. But the fact is, he doesn’t lift a finger to do so. Why should he? He’s entitlted to this. If someone else wants to sacrifice themselves for him, why should he oblige and work harder? He’s never had to do that before? There are various reasons to hide his grades, but one of them is to prevent people from finding out that he had slouched.

Actually, I see him as the Racist-in-Chief. There are just a few little things – like referring to Granny Dunham as a “typical white person”, appointing Eric Holder as Attorney General, saying that Trayvon Martin could have been his son…

That’s right! Now, I always tell people, substitute slur from “white” to “black.” How would that sentence sound? What if she were a “typical black person.” That sounds even worst than NBC’s edit of Zimmerman’s phone call to the police. But, as the race hustler jesse jackson said, blacks can’t be racists because they don’t have power. I still don’t know what that means…

I live in England but follow US politics closely. I couldn’t believe that Americans would elect someone with so liitle experience and a background that should have raised a multitude of questions – I remember the dirty tricks of the Senate race. I have no great fondness for Hilary but she would have been infinitely better than Obama, at least she cares about her country. Now that I have seen the huge damage Obama and his cohorts have inflicted, domestically and internationally, I simply cannot believe he could be elected again, heaven help America if he is, but from what I have observed, watch out for dirty tricks and stolen votes. Talking about race, funny I never thought of Obama as Black, he shares nothing of the real Black American experience, but I never though of him as American either as he seems to have so little affinity with the country. Since he is as much White as Black I don’t know why he is always ‘Black’. Perhaps as an non American I am misreading things but it all seems so obvious to me. I don’t much care for Romney but compared to Obama he is a giant!

Long ago, I discovered a valuable lesson. I learned that justice was supposed to be color-blind, that Liberty was not free, and race-based slurs was the language of the ignorant. Every man, woman, & child is equal at birth by just being a human being.

I feel proud being an American because it is the land of the free to seek opportunities to build character and a better life. In the discourse of politics, we have the right to agree or disagree in the arena of debate.

But if I take issue with Fabian socialism, collective communism, violent jihadists, the liberal elite, or any “ism” that might harm democracy or the republic I love, am I a racist because I differ when an opponent happens to be a another skin color? That would be a ludicrous and weak reason to defend the principles our forefathers forged for us in the U.S. Constitution.

I’ve read Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” and his method for a successful attack is to “pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” My weapon to defend rational thought against this demagogical tactic is the blade of TRUTH—Veritas vos Liberabit (the truth will set you free). The modern definition of ‘racist’ appears to be someone who is winning an argument with a liberal.

“We should not judge a man by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

    This is spot on!

I was listening to someone quote Sam Donaldson yesterday and thought to myself, NO. No, there are certainly many black people I would love to vote for President because of their beliefs and policies. Because that is how I vote, not on race but on character.

Thankful that there is someone out there writing the truth for the rest of us!
