The "misunderstood CAIR Bears of Islam" strike again!
Whenever the “misunderstood CAIR Bears of Islam” commit arson, thuggery, murder, or intimidation in France, they are called “disaffected youths”. These are Muslims who live in “sensitive urban areas” on the outskirts of France’s largest cities, where several times a year they explode in violence against the native French people.
It’s like writing about a great white shark attack and saying “a fish did it” and the now appendage-less, beheaded, exsanguinated surfing victim was “inconvenienced by the encounter in a sensitive aquatic area”.
Politeness is one thing. Stupidity is another.
No article even tangentially about Islam is complete without noting that Islam is not a religion: it is a militarized ideological cult whose central objective is global conquest, as detailed in the warped manifesto compiled by an opportunistic and authoritarian pedophile whose thuggery not only long outlived him, but surpassed even his wildest dreams of caliphate.

The "Like" should work. It's right above where comments start. You should see other people who "liked" it. I have zero technical knowledge so I don't know why you wouldn't see this. It looks fine on my screen, but I don't know how your browser or OS is showing the page. Sorry I don't have the answer to some of the odder aspects of WP. It is an adventure always, but hopefully on the new site next month this sort of stuff will be resolved as we'll have an actual web person hired to maintain the site, not just leaving it up to us amateurs.
Yes I see the "like" box, but clicking on it just gets me the "Just one more step" boxes. Filling them in gets me nowhere.

I think the problem the French have is that this influx is so different from every other one they've faced.
Their ethnic Germans (there are German speaking areas), their ethnic Italians (known for their pulchritude) and their ethnic Spaniards have adapted well for the following reasons:
(1) However bilingual (and multiethnic) an area will be, the French culture, language and identity always come first. That doesn't happen with the Muslims – the French assumed that they would learn the language in the same way the others did.
(2) The European ethnic minorities both know and care what the French majority thinks of them, and they come from roughly similar cultures. (There is less resistence to assimilating to a culture like the one in which you grew up.) How would a, say, Somali know that they are being shamed by the white majority and why would they care?
