The Golfer In Chief
Yesterday, President Obama played his 100th round of golf. I read a reporter’s account that it took him 5 hours to play.
If you do the math, that means our President has spent 500 hours golfing since he’s been in office.. An average work week is 40 hours, so that means our Dear Leader wasted 12 1/2 weeks golfing, which is approximately 3 months and 3 days.
So, out of his 3 1/2 years as President he took 3 1/2 months off to golf, and multiple family vacations that I’ve lost count of. Does this man EVER work?
Do you remember how George H.W. Bush was mocked for golfing during the recession of the 9o’s? Do you remember how George W. Bush was mocked for golfing while we were in the middle of a war? I do.
So here we are, in a a devastating recession and TWO wars, and Mr. Golfer in Chief could give a rat’s patootie. Why would anyone in their right mind want to re-elect this man?

I submit that the 12 1/2 weeks he has spent golfing have been the most PRODUCTIVE weeks he’s had during his presidency. If only he’d spend more time on the golf course and LESS time working (and I use that word sarcastically), we and the country would be much better off.
Don’t forget, while he’s out hot-footing it to golf courses and exotic worldly meeting places and exotic vacations with the Moo!, his czars, all 40+ of them, are busily writing edicts for us to follow. Congress should just go home. They have been replaced by the czars.
You might have a point, if yesterday wasn’t Sunday. Sunday is not part of a 40-hour work week.
Oh give him a break. With all the media scrutiny he gets now about the only time he can get a nice firm club in his hands is when he is on the golf course. The poor boy is deprived of that which he obviously craves so much. Cut him some slack. LOL!
3 1/2 months out of 3 1/2 years sounds like a tithe to me … oh, wait, 12 months so the math doesn’t work out … well, it was going to be a clever joke about tithing to his god …
I’m curious about something. I read that when Obama was in NYC for his fund raiser at SJP’s house the other night, the security messed up traffic around NYC for hours. So, when Obama plays golf, do they close the entire country club for 4 – 5 HOURS? Do they close the roads around the club? Does he mess things up for a while lot of people on a regular basis just so he can “relax”?
I remember the media making a big deal out of it every time GW Bush went home to Crawford, but he lived out in the middle of nowhere, and the only inconvenience was to the local cow population.
Thank G-d he’s in the office so little. Let us make sure he’s out completely & unemployed by 2013!

We can help him by voting him out in November, and then after noon on January 20, 2013, he’ll be free to play all the golf he wants!
Or, to be fair, you could do the math another way and find that Obama has golfed 2.4 times per month since he entered office. I’d hardly say that’s an excessive amount of time on the golf course, especially for one of the hardest working people on the planet.
Did you know U.S. presidents age an additional 7 years per term because of the enormous stress of the job?

As a golfer, and with friends and family who work in the golf industry, I can tell you there are people who work and own businesses in the golf industry who can’t find time to go golfing 2.4 times per month. One of the courses I play on, the guy who runs it is lucky to golf once a month because he’s too busy putting in 60 hours a week actually running his business. To him, it doesn’t seem fair to his family to spend another 5 hours a week hitting the course.
Let’s put it this way… the typical American who enjoys golf could not afford to golf 2.4 times per month, neither in time nor in cost. Golf is one of the most expensive sports in the country.
Now, nobody begrudges the President recreation time. The job is certainly stressful, and nobody wants the guy with that much power to be so high strung that it impacts his decision making ability (of course, this is a general comment, because I’m not much of a fan of Obama’s particular decision making ideology to begin with).
But it’s just typical that MSNBC is out there railing against Anne Romney for spending her OWN MONEY on an expensive sport, while Obama is spending OUR MONEY on an expensive sport.
It’s also very irritating that the left seemed to assail Republican presidents for playing golf, but Obama plays more golf than any of them (plus takes more expensive vacations each year) but those same people who criticized Bush now say it’s the President’s right to relax.
Hypocrites.
