The Georgia mosque controversy

Lilburn, Georgia is a quiet little suburb of about 11,000 residents that sits just 17 miles east of Atlanta. It is also home to a growing Muslim population and they want to expand. The land that they want to use is owned by the mayor of Lilburn and this new mosque will be a replica of a shrine to a Muslim holy warrior in Iraq (where more than 4,00 US soldiers have been killed). Originally, the Lilburn city council shot down the proposal, siting numerous zoning restrictions. After this zoning meeting, residents of Lilburn who have been protesting the mosque required around the clock police protection due to death threats and harassment from the Muslim community.
But now….Islams beloved knight in shining armour, Eric Holder, is stepping in to save the day.
(Creeping Sharia) LILBURN, GA — Hope has been restored to the members of a Lilburn mosque that wants to expand.
The U.S. Department of Justice has decided to investigate the City of Lilburn’s decision not to grant permission for rezoning to the Dar-e Abbas Shia Islamic Center. The rezoning is necessary for expansion.
And hope to restore the peaceful neighborhood seems all but eliminated now that terror-friendly Eric Holder’s DOJ is using taxpayer funds to ensure this mosque can expand against the wishes of residents and local law.
“There is no good reason for the City Council’s non-approval vote. No public service is being served by not allowing the mosque to expand,” said Doug Dillard, an Atlanta attorney representing the mosque. “What is to be gained by the City Council by ruling against a group that has been in the community for the past 12 years?”
Early reports stated that the mosque wanted to build a gymnasium and other additions.
Dillard denies this. “The mosque is looking to expand and needs a larger parking lot and main building,” he told 11Alive News.
The Department of Justice declined to comment, citing the ongoing investigation.
The Department of Justice has four options, according to Dillard.
“One — DOJ could do nothing. Two — DOJ could intervene as a party in a current lawsuit. Three — DOJ could file a friend-of-the-court brief, or four — DOJ could file its own lawsuit,” he said.
A ruling from the Department of Justice is expected soon.
Just peachy. Once again the feds are taking over.
You get three guesses as to what the outcome of this fight will be.

The Germans use self flagellation to ward off the bubonic plague. I did not work but they guys became popular and got laid. Eventually the government got tired of the nut jobs and killed them. Is there a lesson here to be learned?
If Lilburn held up their zoning laws, then good for them! DOJ should be investigating the death threats.
Ususally the problem is getting a zoning board to follow the law!
Another shining example of why Republicans are right and the Utopian Left is wrong. The feds have NO BUSINESS in local issues. States have a right to run themselves without federal intrusion. It just makes my skin crawl.
Right, why are the feds involved in a local issue? Are they anticipating a civil rights violation before it even happens? Next comes the Rev Sharpton and Jackson, or are they to busy other places stirring up trouble.

I hope the city takes it all the way to the Supremes if it comes to that. There is no reason at all the DOJ should be interfering here.
The Zero admin is so blatant sometimes, but at least we can see what they are up to. What scares me is what they’re doing behind the scenes.
This is a momentous issue folks. If this town caves to the demands of the DOJ and these nutjobs, it will set a precedence that you can be sure that will be used in other locations. If this town breaks, there is no going back. If there are zoning reasons cited then it must stand firm. Is this the role of a good government? Absolutely not when they feel they need to intervene on a local situation. Where is the outrage from others in this country? That’s a rhetorical question, of course, because you can be sure the MSM will not talk about this issue.
This is frightening. I don’t know which is worse – the bullying by the muslims or the bullying by Holder. This is not the America I know.
Southerners do not back down and have zero fear of political correctness. Holder and the Muslims will have a serious fight on their hands.

Very frightening. There was another item on the internet about a farmer who raised pigs and the land next to his property was being prepped for a mosque and family center. The Muslims told the famer that he needed to “move” to another location because of the pigs. His solution: pig races every Friday.
I nominate that farmer to take a bunch of his pigs and slow-race them right down the center of wherever these barbaric throwbacks to the 7th century are staging their self-flagellation demonstration!

I certainly do not have a computer with spam, of that I am certain and for reasons I cannot post here! Not a Hillary fan but if that’s a requirement to post on here then that would be extremely exclusionary, just sayin’.
There is a very simple answer to this. Next to every Sunni Mosque a Shia Mosque.

He is guilty of treason from as far back to the Clinton administration, where he facilitated the pardon of F.B.I.’s most wanted criminal Marc Rich. It’s time the US started re-thinking its immigration policies. Perhaps deportation should be a consequence. Coform to our laws or get out! Take the outdated archaic Sharia Law with you.
The photo indicates what kind of barbaric uncivilized animals they really are. No room for that in our society. We should not be tolerating such behavior and it certainly does not warrant attention in any photo or on any website. Zoning laws should be maintained. End of story.
Those who’ve been denied permits to build Jewish Synagogs (not sure how to spell it) and Mormon Temples might want to take note.
I’d rather have a million Synagogues and/or Mormon Temples over one additional Mosque. At least Jews and Mormons are productive essential members of our society, do not encourage their children to be suicide bombers, nor live by condescending Sharia Law, and expect the Modern Democratic Society they immigrate to or are born into, to conform to their barbaric rituals and customs. If these people want all that comes with democracy, they must abide by democtatic laws and act respectfully human to help ameliorate their lifestyle and become contributing members of the country that allows them to benefit.
If those individuals in the photo do not agree with a decision, there is proper procedure and protocol to follow. Acting as such only demeans their purpose and targets educated society to withdraw from the Muslim plight. I certainly hope that our government will uphold the democratic process and not give into demands, threatening or otherwise.

People in the South are the best defense against this insurrection. They are the salt of the earth. People make fun of them, but couldn’t compare to them in love of country. I’ll never leave the South because it is full of patriots. God bless ‘em, I love Southerners.
I hate the thought of doing harm to animals, but, in this instance, the life of a pig is better served to protect the soil of the area from islam’s encroachment, than being on any Southerner’s table at breakfast.
Consider it a Christian sacrifice to hold back the hoards that will slit OUR throats for being American.
Eric Holder may love his life on earth, but, it’s eternity he has to worry about.
