The 2014 and 2016 Elections Start Today: What We Can Do Differently Going Forward

Posted on November 7, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Featured Content, Open Threads

Last night was an absolute shock to the system, because Americans decidedly rejected a decent and competent man with a real plan to get this country back on its feet.  Instead, the Ministry of Truth succeeded in pushing voters to choose four more years of wild spending, government intrusion, chaos, and ineptitude. It’s tempting to lash out and succumb to anger this morning…and waking up today knowing that Barack Obama and the Left would be in power for another four years was cold and numb…since it just didn’t seem possible that Americans would want to subject themselves to an actual decline and collapse of our country.

I believed the Obama phenomenon was a passing fad, and that the 2010 election results meant the fad had passed.  But, Democrats successfully replaced the hopeychange nonsense of 2008 with a relentlessly nasty message and pandering to the core identity blocs of the Left…and it was a strong enough coalition to triumph.  That’s a shocking and scary thought, that we have truly become a nation that wants to keep the Left in power even though we’ve had four years of hard evidence what this does to our economy and place in the world.

The Ministry of Truth secured Barack Obama a second term with nonstop propaganda on his behalf — and revealed itself to be a more powerful force than I’d ever believed.  Mitt Romney really was up against both Democrats and Minitru, and the majority of Americans who get their news from The Ministry bought into its story lines.  Until we find a way to bring Minitru down and roll back its influence, conservatives will always face opponents on two fronts in future elections:  the actual Democrat campaign and also the shadow campaign conducted against the Republican by Minitru.  We have two years to change this before 2014 gets here…and four years to limit Minitru’s influence before the next presidential election.

Since the Left has won it will see no need to move to the center or appeal to moderates, so it’s hard to see how the second half of the Obama Regime is less radical and dangerous than the first.  Obamacare is here to stay at this point, and will begin to collapse our economy in a year or two. Small businesses that have hung on hoping for Obama’s ouster now have difficult decisions to make today…since Obamacare’s taxes will drive many of these places out of business.  Americans last night chose to become a nation of high unemployment and low job growth…and the majority of people have no problem staring into a future of government dependence and nanny-ship.

That’s a sobering thought.  The demographic shift really did happen, and the generations of kids indoctrinated in public schools have come of age and are putting into practice the Leftism spooned into their heads all these years by the members of the public teachers’ unions and the outright Marxists on college campuses.  I thought we had one election or two before this shift happened, but the country is now in the control of people who think there’s nothing wrong with having portraits of Che Guevara and Karl Marx hanging in a classroom instead of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  As students, they were all taught that America is bad and evil and the greatest aspiration in life was to become a “global citizen” in a country that’s governed by UN mandate.  Four years of Barack Obama was clearly not enough to show these people how wrong they are or how terrible the consequences will be if we go down this path.

God has a plan.  The sun rose this morning like always. While the Left is jubilant and eager to push ever harder in its agenda to radically transform this country into something unrecognizable, we now have two years to think of new ways to convince a wider swath of Americans that Leftism is not America’s destiny and that the path to prosperity is not through socialism.  This means finding a way to avoid old cycles of not worrying about elections until they were immediately upon on and using all the time we have wisely.

When Democrats lose a campaign, they start to work the day after on the next one.  The Left is already working up plans for 2014…and even 2016.  Since they won a presidential race by not doing a single thing to appear moderate and by appealing solely to their lefty base, it’s hard to see Democrats moderating themselves in the next two or four years.  This means Obama’s successor will be someone in his mold, probably a Hispanic, who will build on his current identity-bloc coalition to keep the Left in power.  Our only way to thwart them is to spend the next two to four years driving wedges between the various identity blocs and the Democrat party.

That means countering the Democrats’ branding and marketing efforts and getting people to see that these people are Leftists…instead of the cuddly “liberals” that Democrats sell themselves as to the public.  It means opening people’s eyes to the longterm impact of the Democrats’ agenda.  Because of their reelecting Barack Obama, insurance companies will be driven out of business in the next four years and we’ll revert to a single-payer system where the government controls and dictates your healthcare.  The Keystone Pipeline that would have brought jobs and energy independence will never be built, and instead China will benefit from Canada’s natural resources.  Treaties with the UN will subject America to global taxation and many things in our lives like the Internet will be permanently changed by UN mandate.  This is the future that Americans chose for themselves last night because the Ministry of Truth kept them from knowing better.

Today is a sad day, but it’s the first day in regrouping and reorganizing for the elections ahead.  I never believed the majority of Americans would willingly choose to subject themselves to real suffering, but that’s what our countrymen chose by giving the Left four more years in power.  Since there’s nothing we can do about that now, we can only focus on winning back the Senate in two years and taking back the White House in 2016.

It’s a shame that Americans couldn’t see the value in putting Mitt Romney in charge to turn the country around and save us from ruin…but clearly something different must be done in the years ahead to better educate the public about the consequences of handing over the country to the Left.  We’re up against a stronger and more resilient foe than we ever realized…which is daunting, but not demoralizing.

If you believe that conservative principles, fiscal responsibility, and small government is really the key to success then don’t give up on that today.  The Left had a massive propaganda machine and plenty of goodies to distribute, but we have four years to change that if we try.

It has to start at the local level, in your communities…and with a new commitment to doing things a little differently going forward so that we better articulate a conservative message to a new American majority that was taught America is bad and socialism is good. Never in our history have we faced a challenge like this…but like with other challenges, we will prevail because our ideas are right…even if our marketing needs work.

That’s what the next two and four years are for.

And all of that starts today.

So, based on your analysis of the psychology of BHO and your behind-the-scenes insight – do you think he was surprised he won?

    Disappointed even?

I can’t help wondering how much of this “victory” may be due to fraud — whether in voting machines, tabulation of the votes, or what have you. We ALL saw the tens of thousands who showed up for Romney/Ryan rallies. We saw the huge turnout. We saw the MSM in the process of melting down . . . and suddenly, voila! Zero wins!

I’ve read in various places that the numbers put up for Romney are almost identical to the ones for McCain 2008. One wonders how such a thing could happen.

It almost makes one think that something that is “more than human” had a hand in the outcome.

Even after sleeping a couple of hours last night, the only hope I have in my heart today is for the Rapture to occur very, very soon.

You are correct. There were some very shady dealings and breaking Florida Election Law by the St. Lucie County Board of Elections. Col. Allen West was 2000 votes ahead in the early voting, when suddenly yesterday this supervisor suddenly decided to recount just his ballots then he was 2400 votes behind. Plus she locked the doors when voting was complete,(which is against Fl. Law) so no one could see the votes being counted. Col. West has not conceded and I hope he sues this idiot. Voter fraud going on in south Fl.

If we’re brainstorming what to do for the next elections, how long do you think it would take to get paper ballot only initiatives to be voted on? I think a lot of people don’t trust electronic voting, possibly across political lines.

I kind of feel like a dweeb proposing this, since my state uses paper ballots, so it isn’t something I can do much groundwork on.

On the other hand, we changed to mail-in-only voting, and I really don’t like that either. I think I’ll look into the process for getting it up for a vote.

I mean, there can still be fraud with paper ballots, but I think it’s much more difficult to dispose of millions of paper ballots without anyone noticing.

Romney last night actually received 2.8 million votes LESS THAN McCain! In fact, if Romney had simply received as many votes as McCain did in ’08, he would have beaten Obama by 100,000 votes!

Why did this happen? It could have been fraud – and that certainly contributed to it – but as a pastor, I am embarrassed to say that the blame lies squarely on evangelicals. Mitt Romney lost because he’s a Mormon. Like those evangelicals who refused to vote for him, I believe there are irreconcilable differences between Mormonism and our faith. UNlike them, however, I understand that we weren’t voting for pope last night! We were voting for the COMMANDER-in-Chief, not the PASTOR-in-Chief! The sheer ignorance among evangelicals of the roles of politics and faith cost us this election, pure and simple.

My wife and I were completely immersed here in Charlotte in the effort to unseat Obama. We knocked on close to 1,000 doors to GOTV and volunteered countless hours over the past 4 years. The two things that concerned me were Sandy and the number of Christians I encountered time and time again who told me they weren’t going to vote for Romney because of his faith. Do you know the most heartbreaking thing of all? ALL of the people of such a mindset that I had the opportunity to reason with, changed their minds and voted for Romney. EVERY ONE. Tragically, the majority of such people didn’t have someone to reason with them, or no one took the time to try. Our founders gave their lives, fortunes and sacred honor. The vast majority of us didn’t even take the time to talk to those who held this incorrect belief. Shame on us!!

236 years was quite a run. I am beside myself that it was my generation that presided over the republic’s final demise. We are a disgrace to the men and women who gave (and still give) their lives for liberty. In an echo of the words of Hebrews 11:38, we are not worthy of them.

Not sticking up for Sarah Palin but, during the convention, Romney made it quite clear that he wanted nothing to do with the Paul supporters, nothing to do with Palin and her supporters and little to do with the tea party.

There were a lot of disturbing signs with Romney. But, those who voted for him, many held their nose, similarly to the way they held their nose with McCain.

Now, the dems had a wispering campaign about his Mormonism. I was told this was done to JFK and making people fear the country would be run by the Pope. But, if people knew this was being done it could be counteracted. With this, it’s hard to counteract a wispering campaign if you don’t even realize it exists. Also, Romney signaled in the third debate a sort of giving up. Look at his body language. Whoever advised him for the first debate must have been shouted down for the third. The fact that he never mentioned benghazzi allowed the dems to say he was “just like obama, dems and republicans are the same, our votes don’t matter” meme all over the internet and sadly some bought that, although, with what is going on in Florida with West, maybe they are right.

Just curious but why is it Palin’s responsibility to energy anyone for a GOP candidate that didn’t even want her at the convention? Isn’t it enough that she didn’t say negative things about him?

You are right it isn’t her responsibility and she also would not go where she was not wanted. She didn’t go to the convention and she backed off the Senate races after she got her choice nominated. This was a huge mistake by the Republicans. There are even more votes out there than the 3 million of conservatives that stayed home because when McCain lost it was due to those same conservatives staying home because he was such a RINO. There were huge numbers out there that didn’t vote and I am betting it was more than 3 million. If they had we could have over come the cheating that went on in many states.

They made it clear that they didn’t need her and proved that they did. You don’t leave your star player on the bench in such an important game. Yet they did and now we are lost for the ages. It will be decades if ever to restore America to its previous glory.

There was reported and documented vote-flipping at some of the polls. Romney votes registered as votes for Obama. It occurred in three counties in my state, as well as in other states. Several months ago, there were stories on some conservative websites warning of this possibility. A Spanish company, Scytl, was mentioned, but the story went nowhere.

Totally agree with your strategic point about breaking down the coalition Obama cobbled together….. we must look for ways to do this through positive appeal to various demographics as much as possible, as well as through the power of ridicule so sadly evident in Obama’s success. Also, in this identity-driven society we must pray and work to bring competent conservative representatives of key demographic groups front and center in power, not just in support. 2 years is a short time, but also enough time.

Forget the demographics. The Republicans need a proper Propganda machine of their own. They have to find a way to get the truth out about what they want to do and who they are. Obama needs to be on the run. He is one lazy jerk and all of the so called secret stuff needs to be out there and examined. I have no clue how to do it. If I did, I would be on their payroll and rich. I do know that they don’t have it in them to fight back. The only person that was really good at it was Andrew Breitbart. He didn’t mind confrontation, in fact he reveled in it. We need more of those types. Kevin?????

I admit as I watched the results come in last night I felt sick. It has broken my heart to see that we’re stuck with another four years of Obama, but I absolutely cannot give in to a depressing outlook or give up.

I still don’t believe that most Americans are left-leaning, despite last night’s results. I believe that frankly, most Americans are just ignorant. They turn on the news, listen to whatever the propaganda-machine wants to feed them that day, then turn off the news feeling like they’re knowledgeable and worldly, and I honestly believe that these partisan hack journalists are an even bigger problem to us than the Leftists themselves.

They quash and hide the message of conservatism while completely obfuscating the truth about the left and smearing and bad-mouthing those on the right. They do everything they can to demonize and villainize republicans and those on the right, and unfortunately, though like you say we have the right ideas, we have yet to counter this awful image we’ve been painted as well enough. Our marketing really does need work, I guess.

Unfortunately I believe that at this point most Americans believe it when the news tells them that republicans just want to “make the rich man richer” while quashing the middle class, while the “kind-hearted, tolerant democrats” really “CARE” about the little guy. In my opinion, THIS is the most harmful of awful images we’ve been painted with. I just don’t believe when people are so worried about the economy that the vast majority of average Americans really care about the other stuff the MSM paints us as – Not letting women kill their little babies in their wombs, bigots, racists, etc.I really believe the most harmful thing that sticks is this stupid belief that we on the right only want to see the rich man get richer while the middle class suffers.

Unfortunately people I think really still trust the news. I’m not sure what the answer is yet, but I think we need to keep our chins up. Our message is one that really resonates with people if we can just get them to one: hear it, and two: realize that the awful caricature we’ve been portrayed as by the news media is completely untrue. We’re not racists, bigots, homophobes, uncaring, unfeeling monsters that only care about the “1%”. We’re Americans who deeply love God, our country, our fellow man and will do anything to save it.

Maybe the Romney campaign was not meant to put a conservative into the presidency just yet, but to open a lot of peoples’ eyes about conservatism. Maybe this was simply the loss of a battle that contributes toward victory in the war.

Chin up everyone, if you let what happened last night mire you down and turn you into an Eeyore, we’ll never resonate with the hearts of Americans. – Being positive and remaining positive is what will change the minds and hearts of those who think we’re things that we’re not.

I agree, Kevin. And in addition to what you said, I believe this too: God is still God, and He is in control. He is bigger than all this. This morning when I pondered whether God had heard the cries and pleas throughout the land — because I know there were multitudes who were praying — it occurred to me that maybe all of this is part of a bigger plan.

Stay with me, here. This isn’t “sweet lemon” thinking or cliched looking for silver lining talk. I really think something is happening on a spiritual level — that God’s plan is unfolding exactly as it should. Consider: Had Romney been elected, roughly half of the country would have hated his guts and railed against him night and day. If anything had happened, even the tiniest, slightest incident, they would have screamed and ranted and never ever ever would they have seen any good that he was doing. Such is the left mindset.

But now, Oblahblah owns this economy. He owns the shitstorm that’s happening with Libya and Fast & Furious and countless other incidents we don’t even know about yet. He has to make it work or else. At this point, he could be impeached — or worse. And that would be a blow to his ego that he can’t handle. Not only that, I think that as things unfold, many of his supporters will start to see the truth. The scales will start to fall from their eyes in a way that would never happen if Romney had won.

On top of which, Obama doesn’t want the job. That’s been obvious for a long time. It’s as if he was required to bid on a job and ended up getting it and now he’s stuck having to do the work. For four years. I don’t think he has the stamina or the ability to handle it. He’ll stumble. And then he’ll fall. And he’ll do it in front of his admirers. And they won’t be able to get that image out of their minds.

I also think there may be some scale-falling about to happen with minitrue too. Yes indeed. Remember, Oblahblah has a revenge mindset. (We heard that firsthand, didn’t we?) There were not a few newspapers that switched sides during the campaign. He won’t forget that — and I think he’ll push them. But they’ll push back. They were previously part of the kneepad media, but in the end, I don’t think they’ll want to be dictated to. Boosting someone you’ve bought into is one thing; being told what to print is another. I think they’ll rise up. Not all of them, certainly, but enough of them to gain attention.

At least that’s my take on what’s happening — after a long night and a heartbreaking morning and some serious conversing with God.

    Let’s soldier on!

I also received similar insight that Obama is eventually forced to take ownership whether he wants to or not….. I think there are a subset of both Democratic pols and media people who are not complete socialists and will not knuckle under for Obama to sell the farm. My discouragement is with the voters. We apparently have the most ignorant group of voters that we could imagine. I’m not sure where to lay the blame except irresponsible parenting and public education.

Thank you Kevin for all of your tireless work. I checked your site first all night last night. I moved to Portugal 5 weeks ago. In the past month I have had so many Portuguese people want to talk to me about the election. Every, single, person told me how it was so important for Obama to be re elected because America has such an influence in the world. The first few times I tried to explain the devastating damage Obama has done to the United States, all falling on deaf ears. One man said to me”Obama needs to win. I know, I watch the news.” Stunning ignorance over here. At this point, I just walk away. What does it say to us when socialists want Obama to win?!!!
Chris Christie lost the election for Romney. Why? He had the mafia/union with a gun to his head, and Obama had his balls in a vice grip. Think about it, Bloomberg made Obama look stupid. Look at what’s going on in Staten Island. Obama made Bloomberg pay didn’t he? Christie couldn’t risk no federal help at all, and getting his head blown off by the mafia. I took one and basicially endorsed Obama. He sold out, but kinda didn’t have a choice. It was either that, or have his people suffer like in Staten Island.
I think I figured out what Obama’s immigration policy is… Make the United States worse than any other country in the world, and then voile! No one wants to come here! It’s like magic.. Just what liberals believe it’s all magic and fairy dust.

I honestly don’t have any answers as to what happened yesterday but I do believe that the Lord work in mysterious ways sometimes. The author of the article comes pretty close to laying out what could be a major reason as to why the election went the way it did. If that’s the case, then the Tea Party movement isn’t dead but totally rejuvenated after this. Because we will not give up on America.

    We can’t.

I also think that Priebus at the RNC will need to go. The ground game wasn’t up to snuff.

I’m at a loss over 2016. We don’t have good candidates. The flavor of the month will be Rubio, who hasn’t done anything and gives pretty speeches.

Thanks again, Kevin for your positive outlook. You made a difference for many people. You kept our spirits up with your wisdom and knowledge, you made us laugh, you and The Tamminator kept us informed. Maybe the election was won fraudulently maybe it wasn’t. Either way the ease into communism or socialism has happened. Many changes have happened and many changes will take place (my family is listening to country music these days and that’s something I never expected:). I pray the good citizens of this nation do not suffer brutality like other nations did, those that fell to bolshevism in the early 1900s for instance.

CTmom mentioned in a different thread that this nation will get what it deserves. The sad thing is those that chose this path aren’t aware of what they might suffer in the coming years. What’s even more sad, there are those who are fully aware of what might happen and tried to stop it.

    Kevin,
Thanks for your work. I too looked forward to seeing what Mitt could have done.

I am deeply discouraged, however. The drones have finally exceeded the producers and have succeeded in voting themselves the country’s largess. It is hard to believe America is not doomed, at least as it was conceived. Maybe a partitioning, like happened in India, is what we now need, Free America and Socialist America (I know what happened there in terms of deaths.). Let’s see which thrives and which ends up like CA.If it can’t be done peacefully, then let’s get on with it.

In the meantime, I am encouraging the House to resist, resist, resist. They can’t tar us any more with being the Party of NO, since we have been relegated to that fully now. Don’t raise the debt ceiling, let the Bush tax cuts expire and everyone’s taxes go up, take every deduction to the max and starve the beast, reduce and part-time employees in preparation for Ozerocare’s full impact, offshore every business where it makes sense, and let a real depression hit this country. When Zero can’t even borrow money and must just print it, then sense may return to the populace.

One reason this election went sour was that Romney, unlike Reagan in 1980, didn’t seem to have a Grand Idea. Reagan ran on a platform not merely of economic revival, but of NATIONAL revival. Of being strong and respected, not just having jobs.

Thank you, Kevin. I’m really glad I came across your website. I wish I had discovered it sooner.

4 years ago, I didn’t vote for BHO. His beliefs didn’t match mine and I knew he wasn’t the right one for the job. He was too ‘wet behind the ears’. When he won, I had hoped against all hopes that I could be proven wrong. That he could turn our country around. Well, he did turn it…into something I had dreaded it would go towards.

It’s sad to see voters just blindly believe what the biased media spews forth rather than educating themselves.

In 4 years, when the country has gone to hell in a handbasket….will that finally wake them up? Probably not. The left has gone more liberal while the right has gone more conservative. I’m afraid of how difficult it will be to reach those on the left with right’s conservative views towards abortion and gay marriage.

To my brothers & sisters in Christ – pray, pray and pray some more. We can’t see it, but God has a plan. This is not our home…it’s just temporary. That’s the one solace I find today.

We have an advantage in the mid-term elections, because the dummy vote will not come out for a non Presidential race. In fact, they don’t understand the concept of checks and balances, or the difference between the House and Senate, or what they are there for. I hate to say this about my country, but I have to after last night.

Obama spent the last few months appealing to the dummy vote, the “first timers,” the Obamaphone voters, the people who don’t care what happened in Benghazi. He won by appealing to the people in NY who couldn’t be bothered to evacuate or buy a couple gallons of water and some cans of beans, and who think that having him show up is good enough. They love to see him on the View, and hear him on Pimp with a Limp. They don’t want to bother thinking about the future, even planning the next day or two is too much.

We have to find a way to fill the House and Senate in the mid-terms and clip the wings of this President, and perhaps all future Presidents. That may be the only way to save our country.
We also have to find a way to deal with the Mini-tru. If we target one network at a time, even one reporter at a time, and out them for what they are, be relentless in our attack against them, point out to the dummy masses how rich these people are getting from telling lies, perhaps we can make a dent.

I’m going out now to work in the sunshine, which is the only good thing about today. We are going to start taking down the signs today. I don’t know if I can do it without crying.

Kevin, the results had to have been tighter than the left was expecting, the concern on their faces was noticable until it was called so we did have a lot of enthusiasm. I would like to dissect the turn out, where can I get the figures?

I fear Chicago style politics is here to stay. I think we need to figure out how to diffuse their system as well as reach out to people. We need to show people that self reliance is better and more predictable than depending on the govt. You have done an awesome job of reaching out to different communities and making contacts, we need to learn from you and apply it in our own communities.

I wonder if they mobilize the youth to vote less in their safe districts (college towns) and have them vote at home where they can offset the more conservative districts (college students, transplanted youth). I notice new faces are already disappearing around here. Coincidence? Probably, but I wonder some times.

We need to start locally and build up nationally. Oh, like we learned in the 08 elections, boycott the supporters of the left. It gives us something constructive to do, keeps us in touch with each with a social aspect and keeps us from unwittingly funding our opponents. Anyways, all of the above is food for thought, everyone please expand on it and give your own input.

Kevin, again, thank you for all of your efforts. You have been an inspiration to me.

Maybe we need to quit running moderates? Mitt wasn’t my guy in the primaries but I really came to love him seeing how he ran his election. I always loved Paul Ryan, even before the VP pick. I still can’t believe more voters chose Barky. I absolutely fail to understand it. Still there must’ve been a reason (besides More Free Shit!) that we didn’t win more voters. I don’t know what it is, but it seems like the lefties do just fine throwing red meat to their base and ignoring the middle.

Second look at Rand Paul? His whackdoodle dad is too old, but maybe we need somebody who will vow to really shake things up. I just don’t trust the GOP establishment to pick candidates at this point.

I’m sorry kevin–I just have to say a few things. This will be fear porn but never-the -less an important observation. In the last week or so the mantra of O and Muchelle were–”This is our last election–our last time to campaign.” Hmmm. Obama always has meaning behind his vague comments. Always. Like when millions fell for ” I will fundamentially trasform America” leaving the details out. People believed he meant for the good. When O said the last week or so that ‘This is his Last Election” what really did he mean? Given his history –there is always meaning behind the spicy fluffy rhetoric. With 3-4 Supreme Court appointments available to him in the next 4 years there are endless possibilites. We do know they will be extreme liberal appointments as Congress doesn’t have the balls as we’ve seen in Issa and Fast and Furious suddenly shuffled under the rug. Rest assured Eric H is one man O will appoint and that appointment alone will be the death to America. Now back to O’s statement of being “His last election”–get where I’m going with this? I am not normally a “fear porn” type but with the penning of executive orders in the midnight hours over the last 4 years –one would question what he meant by his last election-last campaign. He bypasses congress for everything that would not pass congress and would not be popular with the majority of americans. Who’s to say he wouldn’t pen and EO over-riding term limits. Food for thought and discussion. Sorry for the fear porn but fear porn proved tru in this election.

Thanks for all you do. I’m not banking on an election in 2016. Hope I’m proved wrong. With the Sup Court majority by then– he had friends in high places and they will approve that in a second.

The guy who lost to the first guy who lost to Obama isn’t exactly a winning strategy.Romney received fewer votes than McCain in 2008!
Karl Rove urged Republicans last night, that the winning way is more minority candidates and positions that appeal to minorities. Um, there’s an app for that, Karl: it’s called the Democratic Party. And here’s another tip for Mr. Rove: two of the GOP’s most prominent minority candidates, Allen West and Mia Love, lost . . . to White males.

Here’s my take on what happened yesterday, brought to you by the book of Proverbs:

“Like a dog that returns to its vomit Is a fool who repeats his folly.”

Just over half of our voters chose to return to their folly. Sad.

And now, here’s my game plan, courtesy of St. Francis of Assisi:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    where there is injury,pardon;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
    to be consoled as to console;
    to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
    For it is in giving that we receive;
    it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Time to roll up our sleeves and get back to work, fellow patriots.

Another thing . . . the Republican Party needs to realize that the demographics have changed (read black Americans and Hispanics) and deal with that accordingly.

Puerto Rico approved the statehood resolution (just barely). They can start with that.

Well-written, Kevin. The key, as you wrote, is that God has a plan. I do see some silver linings from last night that could well play into it:

    1) The inferiority of leftist policies will be glaringly obvious in 4 years.

Companies that have been waiting out the final verdict on Obamacare will now begin necessarily laying people off and, as a result, unemployment will skyrocket. Lockheed and BofA, among others have scheduled massive layoffs the beginning of next year. Defense cuts will take a massive toll, too.

Also expect Israel to be gassing up its bombers while we speak. They now know the hand they’ve been dealt for the next 4 years and there’s no way they risk giving Iran any more time to strengthen their bunkers and produce more and more weapons. A potential Romney victory was worth waiting for, but now there’s no reason whatsoever to delay. When Israel does attack Iran (or, even if they do delay, Iran attacks Israel), it’ll be Armageddon in the Middle East. Gas prices will go through the roof and Obama won’t be able to hide from the multiple Benghazi-type scandals that will necessarily result.

In short, the potential for the Obama economy to totally implode is huge – and I believe it will happen very quickly. He will be overwhelmed and his ineptitude and slave-like devotion to leftism will only hasten his demise.

    2) The second silver lining: Conservatives will finally develop some backbone. And not just white conservatives. I believe it was here on Hillbuzz where I read about the grass-roots rebellion that is just now starting to happen among inner city blacks in Chicago. They haven’t been able to blame conservatives because the latter have zero representation in South Chicago. So they have finally put two and two together and realize that it’s the Left that is to blame for the nightmare that is inner city black America. This is a critical, critical opportunity for the Tea Party, to join with these brave people and help them gain momentum. The first phone call I got today was from a black neighbor, wanting me to know how upset she, too, was at the outcome of the election. The subject of politics had never come up between us before. I believe that conservatives both black and white will finally develop some backbone. Both white and black conservatives are so done with political correctness now and I believe we could stand at the cusp of making real inroads into the plantation that is inner city black America.

In short, I believe things could get really dicey, really soon, but I also believe that that could hasten the demise of leftism considerably; maybe even in 4 years.

Keep sending out that clarion call of truth and liberty, Kevin. We live to fight another day and we WILL win. In fact, we will win much quicker because of last night; the Left just doesn’t realize it yet.

How do we do this? I pose this as an honest question.

Many voters like free stuff and they will vote Dem. They don’t care who else pays for it and they don’t care about the consequences down the road. They want free stuff NOW.

Kevin, I strongly urge you to spend a great deal of time trying to destroy the Cocktail Establishment.

THEY are the ones that failed us. There were ten million less votes yesterday than in 2008, and Romney got LESS VOTES THAN JOHN FARKING MCCAIN!!!

    http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/11/republican-turnout-in-2012-election-less-than-2008-and-2004/

The Cocktail Party needs to go down. Explode. Burn.

The people of this country need a party they can believe in. A truly conservative candidate that’s not just a nice guy that changes his positions based on the wind. That’s why Reagan was awesome. From the first step he was “This is what I believe and why!” We need to STOP with moderate candidates! STOP STOP STOP!!! Democrat light is what turns all the conservative and libertarian leaning people away!

Republican is once again a dirty word in my vocabulary. I am and Independent Conservative waiting for a real Phoenix to rise out of the ashes of the Republican COCKtail establishment when it burns to the ground. I will never sacrifice my standards again to vote for a guy who is just “good enough”. I’ve done that for the last two elections and it HURTS. Either I get a Conservative candidate, or I will not vote in the presidential elections anymore. If we can find them for state and local elections, there should be no trouble to find and put one up for federal.

And honestly, if the GOP implodes and disappears altogether. Perfect. All of us conservatives, libertarians, and capitalists will found a new party just like the founding fathers.

    Liberty, Independence, Freedom, Equality.

    Life.

I agree with others that Obama will try to get amnesty done in the next four years to seal the deal for Democrats nationally. This is a challenge that has to be met, and I think it’s a matter of finding more Rubios and Mia Loves. The GOP could counter-balance both the Latino and Black vote, if they could figure out a way to tap the Asian vote and get them to actually turn out.

This was a close run race, the numbers show a win…just. Nevertheless it was a win for the liberals and it would be nice to see the conservatives respond with dignity instead of crying foul. There is such as thing as good sportsmanship and I hate to see a party of intelligent and capable individuals saying not fair, someone cheated.

At least two conservative seats were lost because of odd views expressed by the candidates regarding women, rape, pregnancy and abortion. Perhaps there is a lesson there.

There may be another lesson to learn in how to relate to people for starters, dismissing half the population of America as not worth thinking about isn’t the best way to get people on side, no matter how important your message. I am a conservative and it pissed me off.

Let’s talk overspending…um who started it? Obama didn’t start the deficit and overspending, it’s been building for decades. I can remember watching that ticker in Times Square when I was a kid.

Obama got lumped with a “rescue package” designed and outlined by…a republican…and it was voted on and approved by a majority. But Obama is has sole responsibility for all for it? Do you hear yourselves? We are all responsible for that deficit, every single American who ignored the truth for so long. I take responsibility for it why can’t you?

I am conservative. I am a woman. I am “poor” and I am angry at my party and the people who refuse to see that pointing fingers and handing out blame does nothing for our cause or our country. I am furious that a party I believe in would cry foul instead of picking themselves up and asking themselves what they can do differently to succeed next time because we screwed it up. WE should have won and we didn’t because we need to rethink who we are and how we are coming across. It’s not working and it’s time to accept responsibility for that and DO something about it.

I’m going to stop paying attention. It’s all going to be horrible from now. Harry Reid is going to alter filibuster rules for the Senate.

They’re going to continue demonizing the republicans. They’re going to get the Supreme Court who will mutilate the constitution for generations.

I’ve had enough. I’ll fight for conservatism among my friends, but now I just want to live my life. There is nothing more than can be done. They won.

The evangelicals didn’t show. They didn’t want to vote for a mormon. I’m sorry but that kind of discrimination is no better than the people who vote for Obama because he’s black.

The thing that is clear is the republicans have got to launch an all-out effort to win over the hispanics. We need to pave roads in and promote hispanic candidates.

The evangelicals are just too unreliable and too full of discimination. If the candidate is not Christian they won’t vote for him. What kind of nonsense is that?

I’m done worrying about pleasing their finicky base.

If conservatism is to survive, we’ve got to launch all out war on resting the hispanics from the democrats. They’re the demographic most open to us out of that electoral base.

With Puerto Rico likely to become a state the welfare society will only increase it’s power.

From now on, the republicans must come up with a comprehensive stance on immigration reform. Must push hispanics hard in our party and really reach out. It’s do or die.

Got to win them. Got to listen to them. It might be hard and different, but we won’t stop leftism without them. If we want to help conservatives, start meeting with hispanics and start finding out what they want and need. Start getting them meeting and understanding and really representing them.

So that’s the last I’ll say. I think I’m tuning out for the next couple years. Going underground. I don’t want to watch the commie power grab that will take place in the senate and the supreme court.

At least, Texas went hard conservative. They went by over 20% for Romney so I know Texas will be okay for some time.

Also I still say we need to tackle the gay marriage issue. They really are killing us on that. Don’t worry about the evangelicals anymore.

They didn’t show up because Romney was mormon so screw ‘em. Let’s talk about civil unions or something just not “anti-gay” marriage. Not that it’ll win over my idiot generation, but it’s a start.

But the main thing should be getting the hispanics. Got to win ‘em. Got to do it in the next two years when senate and house races come up.

    Got to start NOW.

So thank you for everything Kevin. You are a wonderful human being. God bless you.

Here’s where alleged conservative sites fall short.

Daily Caller titles an article: “Nancy Pelosi’s Napa County vacation home broken into”
    http://dailycaller.com/2012/11/07/nancy-pelosis-napa-county-vacation-home-broken-into/#ixzz2Bc6QyUcv

Evokes “small cabin in the woods” yet it’s a multi million dollar mansion and I think winery if I remember what I read correctly.

Daily Caller should not play into the cabin in the woods idea, they should tout the mansion part. They don’t, why not.

Cause google “mitt romney CA home” and you have a plethora of articles, politico characterizes the home this way: “Mitt Romney’s 4-car fantasy home”
    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0312/74518.html

Bet Nancy’s home is three times the size with ten times the property but you don’t get that from the title of the article on the “conservative site”. Politico loves to let you know about romney’s mega mansion though.

This kind of stuff hurt him. The dems are way wealthier now than the republicans, used to be the other way around. For some reason they hide it well or people are trained to accept mega rich dems while rejecting mega rich republicans.

The damage done to the republican party during the bush administration by the left on sites all over the internet and the media is almost insurmountable. Yet the republicans don’t seem interested in similarly damaging the dems, why not?

The Karl Rove group, the group of RINO\s purged the tea party and sarah palin. They purged the conservatives. They purged the Ron Paul group. Didn’t you expect a re run of 2010? Something doesn’t feel right about this election. Where was the tea party?

Last night I was told about an article in “the paper” a “couple of months back” from some woman “warning about Mormonism”. All the lefties at this party quoted the article chapter and verse. The Obama campaign didn’t bring it up publicly, they just used the old fashioned way, gossip from one person to another, and got their message across while the republicans were thinking they were afraid to bring it up cause of the jerimiah wright stuffl. It seems everything in this election that mattered was clandestinely done or pre planned. A remarkable strategy going on in plain sight. Was absolutely ill last night over this stuff, the gossip about mormons, the conspiracy theories accepted as fact. the talk of the apocalypse and 2012. No one flinched except maybe my body language might have given me away but everyone else seemed to just accept this stuff. I was waiting for the guy in his twenties, sporting the long long pony tale wolfing down the host’s $45 a pound brie from the fancy cheese store to say he was an alien or knew one, since they hit all the other conspiracy theories. But you mentioned fast and furious and benghazi and they wanted no part of it. Republican propaganda, meanly trying to diminish the presidency of the first black president is how it was characterized. I bet you could show them a movie with proof and they would say “it was manufactured in some republican’s computer from footage shot in a movie studio”. It was truly frightening and these were adults earning good salaries most with advanced degrees and professional degrees, not idiots. There were even “band members” there. Hubby and I were so down we left just before Obama’s address to go back to our dark freezing cold house and they couldn’t understand why we wouldn’t stay for the speech, they said we were sore losers not wanting to give Obama the respect he deserves.

Christie can stand on his head, I will not ever vote for him.

If they put him up and the democratic candidate is worse the current occupant of the White House then I’ll not vote that line on the ballot. No matter what Coulter says, Christie did not help Romney, his bromance with Obama probably led the headline readers to think at the last minute that “he deserved a second chance at hope and change”.

The Republican party is not doomed. Hope springs eternal.
I live in the UK and the situation in 1997 was much like the one for the republican party today. After the weak leadership of John Major (compared with the unskillful Bush) the Labour Party crushed the Conservatives in 1997. They rode on wave of the “Middle Way” by Blair. This middle way was actually a non-existant ideology generated by Brown and Blair to amaze and intoxicate voters. However the Conservative Party was in disarray (even more than the republican party is now) in determining which direction it would take- back to the increasing unpopular Thaterism or conform to more centralist policies which were so popular.
Ultimately the party has progressed toward the centre meaning in the 2010 election even after the disaster of Brown the Conservative party lacked the identity that it prided her ideals upon in the past to win a majority and had to settle with a coaltion with the Lib Dems.

The answer we can take from this is to reaffirm what the founding principles of what the Republican party stands for, which certainly isn’t alienation or racism. The party can still retain her core ideals, strong morals, minimal governent, small business yet still modernize to deal with the current media and win the next election.

Btw I’m still only 17 and study Politics which incorporates all political ideologies and analysing each of them and i can say resolutely that I’m a conservative. Just wanna say people certainly do appreciate US intervention in World Affairs and she does have a duty to do so- it is easy to get manipulated by the liberal media by how “stupid” America can be.

Communist Party Leader: Obama Victory “Dawn of a New Era”
    November 8, 2012 – 4:47 pm EST | 2 Comments

Kevin, love your site. I found Trevor Loudon’s New Zealand site and finally the Communist Party has outed Obama and the Democratic Party. He also gives the remedy at the end of the article. This is a OMG article.

    Sam Webb

Communist Party USA leader Sam Webb, has hailed the election of Party “friend” Barack Obama, as the “dawn of a new era.”

The Party is cock-a-hoop over Obama’s victory, seeing it as both a repudiation of the conservative agenda and an opportunity to move the United States further towards socialism.

    From the People’s World:

After a long and bitterly contested battle, the forces of inclusive democracy came out on top yesterday…

An African-American president was re-elected to the office of the Presidency, the Democrats unexpectedly strengthened their hand in the Senate and House, and victories, including big ones for marriage equality, were registered at the state level.

Moreover, the balance of forces – that is, the ground on which people fight going forward – has shifted in a progressive direction. And thanks in large measure goes to what might be the most notable development in this election – the emergence of a multi-racial, male-female, working-class-based electoral coalition that has the potential to transform America in the years and decades ahead.

The Communist Party said a year ago that the 2012 elections would be the main front of the class and democratic struggle, and subsequent events have confirmed that fact.

Indeed, we argued that defeating right wing extremism was the key to moving the whole chain of democratic struggle forward in the coming period.

Conversely, we said that a victory by right-wing extremism would set into motion a far-reaching assault on the people’s living standards, rights, and organizational capacities, the likes that we’ve never seen.

Had Romney won the Presidency and the Republicans the Congress, it would have accelerated to warp drive a capitalist class counterrevolution – a reversal of seventy years of social progress. In a matter of three months time, the entire body of social legislation dating back to the New Deal could have been expunged…

Above all, what was decisive was the unmistakable election imprint of a rainbow working-class based electoral coalition, which has the potential to effect a process of long-term political renewal and realignment the likes of which we haven’t seen since the New Deal coalition of the 1930s…

This was not a vote for savaging social programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid; or rolling back domestic spending; or resolving the budget crisis on the people’s backs.

It was instead a vote for jobs, housing relief, withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan, an end to U.S.-led wars in the Middle East, the preservation of the package of benefits and rights that the American people now enjoy, equal pay for women, health, and reproductive rights, infrastructure renewal – marriage equality, a larger commitment to public education, a tax system in which the wealthiest families and corporations pay a much larger share, reform of our punitive and anti-democratic immigration laws, a reduction in the unconscionable inequality that sets us apart from other advanced capitalist countries, and, not least, an America that stands for fairness, tolerance, and decency…

Without catching its breath, the AFL-CIO and its allies are organizing actions against a bipartisan resolution that falls on working people. But organized labor can’t do it alone.

The coalition that mined the country for votes over the past several months and the rainbow electorate that elected the president and defended democracy yesterday must spring back into action. Tens of millions must be mobilized. Diverse forms of struggle must be employed. Not everyone has to be an Obama voter. The fight to get the anti-austerity message heard above the din of the major media is a real challenge. But it can be done.

Whatever the outcome of this immediate battle, the struggle to put the people’s needs and nature before corporate profits and war spending will be a long one. This still- emerging multi-racial, working-class based coalition will experience victories, like we did on Election Day. But it will also encounter defeats. The main thing is that it never lose sight of the necessity of deepening and extending its reach, unity, and multi-racial, class-based character.

The task isn’t to replicate the movements of the 1930s and 1960s, but today’s activists would do well to draw the lessons from those movements and adapt them to current conditions.

Both have much to teach, but given the concentrated corporate economic and political power that the American people are up against, today’s movement has to eclipse them in terms of scope, depth, and class and anti-racist understanding and unity. We are at the dawn of a new era.

Until the Republicans realize that they are in a war for their country, and treat it as such, they will be outmaneuvered by the Communist/Labor/Democrat alliance.

The Republicans thought they had this election in the bag. It appears they didn’t understand the power of the forces arrayed against them.

Mitt Romney tried to win America by being a nice guy… and he did an excellent job of it. But that wasn’t enough. If America has any chance of survival now it needs bare knuckle, knock em out fighters.

Winston Churchill didn’t compromise with the Nazis. Maggie Thatcher didn’t compromise with the British communist led unions. Ronald Reagan won by fighting hard and negotiating from a position of strength.

If the Republicans really want to save this country, they must take a hard line against the Democrats and their communist/union driven agenda. Reaching across the aisle to the Democrats is a recipe for defeat and disaster.
