Thank You Mitt Romney For Trying to Save Our Country

Posted on November 7, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Best of Hillbuzz, Featured Content

November 7th, 2012

Governor Romney,

Today begins the nasty and pointless tradition in Republican ranks that celebrates the eating of our own, where every hack in Washington will scramble for camera time to denounce you for failing to win the 2012 election; if the results had been different, they’d be singing your praises…but today they’re sending you hatemail.  I want to thank you for putting yourself forward in service and for trying to save our country from financial ruin we all know is coming.  You had a plan to fix what was wrong and get us back on track but the Ministry of Truth that is our national media kept the public from ever understanding how big of a mess this country is really in.  Much like John McCain four years ago, you not only had to run against Democrats but also its propaganda-spewing MiniTru…and they proved too powerful a tag team in the end.

Over the last few months of the general election campaign I really became an admirer of yours and last night’s defeat doesn’t change that.  You are a remarkable man who was uniquely talented to address the challenges we face today, but Minitru was just too influential in preventing Americans from seeing that. Going forward, I hope you continue to serve behind the scenes in ways that help Republicans counter the Left’s home field advantages in the media.  You’re too smart and too capable not to have another act in politics…so though you won’t be president now, perhaps you can help use the next four years to make another excellent Republican the nation’s 45th President in 2016.

Last night I subjected myself to watching Steve Schmidt on MSNBC all day, where he trashed Republicans and enthusiastically joined the Left in mocking conservatives for what I assume is a hefty paycheck.  No doubt people affiliated with your campaign will be making the rounds soon, too.  This always seems to happen when a Republican loses, where the blame-game starts and the knives come out for the sort of revenge and pettiness that Barack Obama actually advocated in his campaign.  I know that you and Anne and your family are prepared for all this, but I wish it didn’t have to happen because unlike John McCain four years ago you actually fought hard in this race and ran an excellent campaign.

MSNBC, of course, trashed your selection of Paul Ryan as VP but he remains an excellent choice because the two of you could have accomplished so much together.  You rolled the dice because the payoff would have been worth the risk and you’re a personal hero to me for doing that.  Too often people in politics are too afraid of plowback to either do what they know is right or to say what they really think, but you didn’t hedge or play it safe.  You went big…and though last night you went home I think you are a remarkable man for leaving absolutely nothing on the field.

A Jewish friend of mine has been saying all morning that you’re a real “mensch”, a class act who would have been a remarkable president. I’m sorry that more Americans didn’t see that…but am hopeful that whatever you do next in life inspires other “mensches” in conservative ranks to step forward and offer themselves in service to the country as you did.  You are expert at spotting talent and helping people reach their potential…so I hope you look to 2014 and 2016 and help coach an all-star team who’ll succeed where you came up short this time.

Thank you, Governor Romney, for trying to spare us all from the nightmares and ruin to come. I hope the detractors and hacks aren’t too hard on you today (though I know they will be, because that’s what they do) because you don’t deserve scorn for trying to do what ended up being the impossible:  to fight the Left and the media at the same time.  You gave it your all and held nothing back and for that I am so very thankful.

In gratitude,

    Kevin,

This was a beautiful letter. I wish it was something we could all sign and send to him.

More importantly, I want to thank YOU for running the ground game you did, the non-stop efforts the last months to make sure a pure voice was being heard.

I have found your site, and will stay in the trenches with you until the message is not only heard, but listened to…..

Again, thank you for your faithfulness.

Hello, Kevin. I, too, am disappointed in the election. I like Governor Romney a great deal and believe he would have been a very good president. I don’t know what has happened to this country but I am afraid the decline we have been in will now accelerate even faster to the point of no return. I have enjoyed reading your site for the last several years. Keep your chin up and don’t give the b@#@!s the satisfaction of getting you down. JPG

Kevin, I don’t buy these results for a second. Let’s see we’ve got higher GOP registration and enthusiasm, lower voter turnout than 2004, and Obama wins? The voting machine issue was reported over and over in multiple states. Even the left-wing rag Atlantic wrote about this. You select Romney, and it comes up Obama. It seems to happen infrequently enough to allow for plausible deniability. You can bet anybody who didn’t select a Presidential choice were counted as a vote for Obama.

This is a psychological war, my friends. Getting a little older has convinced me of how powerful our thoughts are, and how they shape our reality. I am resolved to get very clear on the world I want to live in and the kinds of leaders I want raised up to run it. Hold that image in your mind, and live as honorably as you can. The world will change.

I am with you. I am not a tin foil hat person or an eeyore. I believe we did get out our vote. It was discarded and changed. The governors of Ohio, Florida, Colorado and Virginia have a duty to our country to get to the bottom of it. The only thing we failed to do was DEMAND that our voting process be on the up and up. It was not. There is no way I will ever believe that the huge crowds and the enthusiasm for MR was not real.

I agree that these results don’t pass the “smell test.” Are we really to believe that Romney got LESS votes that McCain? Of course, O got less votes than he did last time. Wonder how many votes that went to O this time were really votes for Romney. “Just enough” I expect.

Sadly it is impossible to prove anything here. God bless Allen West for fighting for the truth.

    Marxist Takeover of America

What we witnessed yesterday was the final Marxist takeover of the United States. Obama is a big enough problem by himself, but he’s not the real issue. It no longer matters whether or not you vote because the votes for the whole nation are tabulated by two companies. The process is now manipulated to give the appearance of freedom, while ensuring that the government doesn’t change.

Romney and Ryan represented substantial change, not “hope and change” like the Marxists want. You see, the slogan “hope and change” means nothing, or it means whatever the Marxist manipulators say it means. Consequently, Romney and Ryan could not be elected because they would slow down the conversion of the United States into a third world socialist country.

Did it seem odd that the “mainstream” media was saying Obama was winning or that the race was too close to call, when in reality you could see there was very little support for Obama and momentum and enthusiasm on the side of Romney? That’s because everything coming from the “mainstream” media is a lie. This is the propaganda arm of the Marxist state. They do not report truth, but rather the lies the Marxists want convert into truth.

Today Romney supporters and people who care about their country are sad and feeling like they tried so hard, but to no avail. The thing they do not understand is that they won the election, but now that the transition to a Marxist state is complete, that win is no longer acceptable. Feelings of sadness should not be because Romney and Ryan lost, because they didn’t. Don’t mourn their “loss,” but mourn the loss of our nation. The American republic is dead.

Will we ever be able to regain our former status as a free nation? Not until we fight for it.

People will not fight until things get a lot worse than they are now. When food, shelter, basic necessities are no longer available to a majority of this nation, then they will fight, but not before. When the fight begins, it won’t be for an ideal, it will be for survival. We won’t win that fight. With “Homeland Security” and the rest of the militarized government enforcement arm, the Marxist state is well defended and there is not much chance of winning against it until the fight is not for survival, but for freedom.

As soon as a larger percentage of Americans are willing to stand and fight for their freedom, they will begin to prevail, but not before.

What does the average person in the United States today do?

    1. Recognize that God is in control

    2. Stay close to God – worship, study scriptures, pray daily

    3. Prepare for extremely hard times ahead – store food, water, clothing, fuel

    4. Concentrate locally

You can do nothing about the sad state of the nation, but you might have an effect on your local community.

    5. Keep your head

Think, don’t react emotionally. Always look at issues from the standpoint of principle rather than expediency. Never believe the propaganda lies being spewed all over the place.

    6. Stay focused on the positive

This is one of the reasons to concentrate locally; paying attention to national and world affairs will just depress you and drive you crazy.

    7. Create a good life for you and your family

The majority of humanity throughout the world and throughout history have lived under tyrannical government that takes away their basic God given rights, but happiness and optimism and enthusiasm never die unless we give up.

The human spirit connects with God automatically and God is the source of light, goodness, comfort, and love; which can all be part of our lives if we stay connected to Him.

    8. Love others

Love yourself, your family, your friends and associates. Let them know of your love. Be positive and kind and gentle with others. As this nation degenerates into the cesspool of secularism and government control, people will get more hateful and divisive. Counteract the societal trends. Don’t give in to evil. Never adopt the evil practices of those around you.

Be good to others, even when there is nothing in it for you. Be kind to everyone, even when they are not kind in return. It doesn’t matter how they act, but how you. Be the person you need to be, regardless of circumstances, difficulties, surroundings.

    9. Obey God’s commandments

If you don’t know what they are, find out. Always be obedient to what God has taught us will bring us ultimate happiness. We can still find joy in this life if we are willing to submit our will, not to tyrannical government, but willingly to God.

    10. Improve yourself and your environment

Learn, grow, evolve into a better human being. Don’t settle for the low level of pop culture, pop fiction, pop entertainment – or anything else that is popular. Understand that popularity of anyone or anything is generated by the Marxist cabal who now fully control our nation. Don’t be mindlessly fooled by the propaganda machine. Learn, study, read good books. Improve your mind continually.

    11. Simplify

Part of surviving in this new paradigm is simplifying lifestyle, “needs,” wants, and expectations. Is there a way you can quit your job in the rat race and earn enough money to support your family? To become a different person, it will be necessary to repudiate everything having to do with the status quo, including the false paradigm of “getting ahead” in the rat race.

From now on you will see the death of the American dream. There will be no getting ahead. You will be a wage slave, part of the neofeudalistic system of Marxist philosophy. The lie will continue, the propaganda machine will try to convince people the American dream is alive and making a comeback, but that just isn’t true. You cannot have a Marxist takeover of society and economic opportunity. The two are mutually exclusive.

    12. Be your own boss

Even if you are unable to opt out of the rat race, be your own boss. Maybe financially it seems impossible, but intellectually, socially, psychologically, and spiritually, you can decide your own destiny. Don’t allow yourself to be influenced by negativity, lies, propaganda, and the fantasy world around you. Center yourself in God, in truth, in optimism, and then never allow anyone or anything convince you that you are wrong. Have a firm conviction of truth, principles of liberty, the reality of God, the innate goodness of the human soul.

You will see great ugliness in the future. There are many souls who will give themselves to Satan and follow the Marxist path to societal annihilation. But in the end, they will not win. God will triumph. Good will always overcome evil, it’s just that the interim sometimes seems impossibly difficult. This new Marxist controlled reality will require great personal strength and commitment to truth in the midst of seemingly overwhelming evil.

Follow these 12 points to a new and better future, in spite of living in a Marxist controlled state. The alternative, as evident in all other Marxist states, is depression, alcoholism, discouragement, and early death.

      Agree. Pray and simplify!

I would so like to get out of the rat race. We have been trying to simplify and it is not that hard.

The only thing we spend money on now is gas, groceries and utilities. We no longer buy “stuff”. When we do have to buy “stuff”, I always check the label and try to buy American.

I have not supported Hollywood for years. I don’t like to send the pinkos my hard earned money. I think that they are to blame for a lot of the problems in our country.

Our country has lost her moral compass. R/R was a great team with a lot of integrity and could have gone a long way to getting us back on the right track.

Times are hard and will only get harder. Let’s just pray and hang in there until 2014.

Are we so thin-skinned, or do we hold our values in such low regard that we just give up on our beliefs today? Not me.

As the universal language, math will probably bring reality to our country very soon.

Did you go and vote for Romney or did you sit at home instead? According to the stats there was a downturn in the vote… and I might add comments like yours say to me that you are one of those who refused to vote based upon your ideas.

Romney was not able to articulate many things because in those debates he was cut off too many times by the moderator. He was a vastly superior candidate yet he was rejected. Why?

There are many people who can answer that question because they are the ones who refused to go and vote for the candidate who was the best choice at this point in time.

    Kevin,

I wanted to thank you for putting out hope and encouragement throughout this campaign. Hope is always the right choice. Let me tell you a story. Back in 2008, my husband was in the ICU with pneumonia. He had this one night when the nurse put on a ballgame and it seemed possible that he might recover. I decided to embrace hope. As I left that night, I happened to met a guy that I’d spoken to in the ICU waiting room. His wife had lung cancer. And I told him there that he should not give up hope, because even if we were wrong, at least we would have one night of feeling that everything could be okay. That hope helped me get through waiting in the ICU, 15 minutes at a time, each day.

It took awhile to get to the happy ending here. Both my husband and my friend’s wife died about a week later. The guy is now my boyfriend and we’ve been together since then. We were both disappointed by the election last night. I still feel that the hope that we could change things was not wasted. While I am down today, I believe we will accomplish more by continuing to hope for the best in this country. If nothing else, I know that hope helps you get through the dark times and makes each day easier. Thanks for being there for us!

It WILL be amusing, however, to watch President CrapSack(tm) face the perfect storm he has created and address the problems. Schadenfreude will be defined as watching this asss-load blame everything on his predecessor!

Mean time, I am gonna check out of politics so that I may preserve, protect, and defend my family and the remnants o fthis country from the 47% who will undoubtedly burgeon in the next four years.

My thoughts exactly. I am proud of my vote in spite of the outcome. I was privileged to see both a Ryan rally and a Romney/Ryan rally. Both loving, generous and serving people with families who back them up and stand with them. I saw honor on display and felt blessed to have witnessed their campaign and their love of country first hand. May God bless them all the days of their lives. And let us pray especially for Paul Ryan, who will return to face the wolves in his own party in the House when the session resumes.

It’s very nice to take a moment and thank Romney for what he did. He took a lot of heat, was called baseless names, attacked and threatened.

The GOP will tear into itself. It’s pointless, but inevitable. I hope, for the sake of decency, that it doesn’t tear into Romney with vigor. He deserves our thanks, not to be the target of our frustrations.

I hate to say it this way, but the Left needs to be the target of our frustrations. They earned it.

Thank you Kevin for all you have done during this election. I am shocked and horrified this morning as I see the stock market plunging and our dollar losing even more value. I am wondering how soon the mandatory civilian or military service laws will be enacted that obama pushed for in 2008. As a military retiree, I have been reviewing the left’s proposals regarding my healthcare benefits under obamacare, and am very worried about how sequestration will affect my pension. obama winning and the fact that Jesse Jackson Jr won by a landslide with multiple indictments pending and his bi-polar mental health so out of control he can’t even function as an outpatient is the true indication of who and what is acceptable by what’s left of our society.

I agree. There’s going to be a lot of the usual Monday-morning quarterbacking on the right after this, as there is whenever a candidate loses, but I thought Romney did an outstanding job as a candidate. He wasn’t my first choice, but I doubt any of the others could have come even this close.

In the end, this was about turnout. Despite everything, a lot of people on our side stayed home, and a lot of “independents” didn’t care enough to take a stand.

My personal take on what’s happening is that we’ve entered an era where style is the only thing that matters. Obama can show up for a photo op after Sandy, “look presidential,” and then do nothing, and people eat it up. Ask those same people about Benghazi and they will look at you with blank eyes. In a more rational time Obama would have lost by double digits.

He is a mensch. Good job Kevin. I am going to write him, too. He has inspired me. That’s what good men and good leaders do. I often think these days, “What would Mitt Romney do?” And then I get up and do the hard thing.

We all know that Hobo and Axehead did everything they could to dig up dirt on him, and there simply is none. Gov. Romney is a remarkable, extraordinary man, and all the more so because he is humble.

It is so unfortunate we won’t get to have him as our leader.

It is time for us to face that most Americans want the lie that they know Obama is, and the misery he brings with him. The lie has become the prize, the ability to cause widespread misery, the achievement. And it is hate and revenge that motivates them.

    Amen.

There is much to do. Minitru has worked very hard to influence the minds of many Americans. It is going to take time to shake people out of that stupor.

Americans voted for a nonexistent Left-wing Superman last night. The Magical Left-wing Cult Of Personality character. It is sad, but it can and does happen.

One of the best things about this outcome, however, is that it is only more likely now that Obama will diminish the Democratic Party. Which is something to say, given the 2010 midterm elections.

As Michael Barone pointed out recently, I believe Obama becomes the only incumbent in American history besides Woodrow Wilson to win a reelection with fewer electoral votes and popular vote share than his first election:

    http://washingtonexaminer.com/barone-if-obama-wins-will-he-be-another-woodrow-wilson/article/2511056#.UJqQZGfh6Dw

Wilson wrecked the economy, led the USA to the Great Depression of 1920-21 and crushed the Democratic Party for more than a decade.

Perhaps Obama will leave a similar legacy.

We will see unemployment increase dramatically, Healthcare cost skyrocket and the islamic world strengthen. People will work out the truth.

We can’t blame Mitt Romney because the Senate election was so dire the GOP won 7 out of 33 seats. Moderates, TEA Party and conservatives lost all over the place when Obamacare Democrats should have lost.

Romney lost because he played it safe. Refused to destroy obama on Benghazi and the economy. Republicans are pu**ies and Democrats are junk yard dogs. The Republican base gets smaller each year, and the Democrat base gets bigger. The Republicans have chased away true conservatives into the Libertarian Party. Just look at how Ron Paul was treated by his own party in this election. Democrats get stronger because of the massive flood of illegal aliens across the Mexican border, and these people almost always vote Democrat. Demographics are against the Republicans. And……..don’t forget, SCYTL counted the votes.

Thank you for the thank you to Mitt Romney! One of the things that shocked me last night – in a night that was far too full of shocks – is the piling on of Mitt Romney, how he “should’ve done this” or “we should have nominated so and so”, which almost hurt as much as losing this thing in the first place.

I don’t think there could have been a better candidate for a better time, I just think that even vs. four years ago, the mainstream media has gotten that much more brazen, and there are that many more people who have been entrenched from their youth.

Plus we have a president who’s willing to give, give, give of other people’s money, and “Ooh! I get free food? AND a free phone? And health care?! SCORE!” folks who are willing to take.

Still licking my wounds, but not licked.

Beautifully written, Kevin, and I agree with every word. I, too, became an admirer of not only Governor Romney’s brilliance and abilities to fix things, I also came to admire his family and, particularly, his gentle and beautiful wife, Ann.

I also agree that we should fight the Minitru as Kevin suggested the other day. The left was successful in getting Glen Beck and Judge Napolitano off the air. They are controlled by George Soros and Maurice Strong. I believe that we should take a tactic from the left’s playbook and all conservatives should join together in bombarding the advertisers on Chris Mathews show that if they do not stop advertising on his show, we will stop purchasing their products. That is what was done to Beck as he exposed Soros as the puppet master behind the scenes.

Soros loves destruction. He loved confiscating property from fellow Jews during Hitler’s reign. He will love bringing our country down and it has been predicted that Obama will decimate our military and that Russia, Iran and China will carve up the world. Are we going to sit quietly by or do we begin by writing letters to Mathews advertisers?

One more strategy that will work…you can do what is good for you on an individual level, and save and save like never before. Stop spending on discretionary items and build a savings. This will be good for your financial future and at the same time have the benefit of driving the economy further into the toilet, driving up our deficit and national debt and crippling the Democratic party. Apparently most reading this blog are 20-30 something, who never saw the last 70s pre-Reagan. But essentially gloom permeated every aspect of the country, we need to return to that and hang the carnage around the Democrats collective neck. What is 4 years of sacrificing simple pleasures., stop buying lattes out, stop going to moves, stop eating out and instead g to cheaper alternatives like renting a DVD, making your own coffee, and hosting dinner parties with friends.

Drive this economy in the toilet and this country will turn on the Democrats like they did when Carter held the earns. Then take your savings and start investing it at depressed stock level so when the Democrats are out, a new wave of prosperity can sweep the land and you can participate in it.

Kevin, thank you so much for your words. I was googling around to find some support in my pain and I came across your heartfelt letter. You found the words I couldn’t, to express exactly how I feel. I am heartbroken Romney lost. I, too, followed him in the recent months of the campaign and came to admire him and Ann so very deeply. He could have made the difference in this country before it was too late. I came to believe he was going to ultimately win, as the choice for America’s survival was so clear. I genuinely don’t understand how people couldn’t see the obvious. This wasn’t a race about birth control like the media manipulated many women to believe and that sadly they bought hook line and sinker (I am a woman by the way). Unfortunately, I’m afraid our once great nation is in for dark times. Romney’s brilliant problem solving abilities, strength of character and leadership, pragmatism, dignity, principles, graciousness, compassion, love of America, and yes, menshlechkeit (I’m Jewish too :) shined through. He inspired confidence as well as respect. I wouldn’t be lying if I didn’t say that I am resentful for the media having demonized him, not to mention their lies, deceptions and inaccuracies in news covrerage that skewed things re Mitt and Obama. I’m sorry but it just angers me so much on an integrity level as much a political one. Since the split in the vote was basically 50%, I wish it could be that there was US and US of America, two different leaders for 2 diff parts of our country who are clearly going in diff directions and want different things (re the constitution, handling the debt and being fiscally conservative, taxes, oil drilling while simultaneously planning for alt clean energy, less of welfare and food stamps as a system and way of life yet always there for those truly in need etc) . Let them have Obama and the socialist direction and let us have Mitt and the American way!! No war God Forbid. Just two leaders, one from each party for thier states. Governor Romney, thank you for risking everything to try and serve our America that I know you love. I voted yesterday for, in your words “love of country”.
If you have a way of getting this to Mitt Romney, please pass on to him how much he did inspire people and how broken so many of us are today. I live in a swing state and there were lots of young college students as well as old people-all ages spanning the generations, who were behind you and Paul Ryan, volunteering, supporting, calling, walking and working day in day out. We love you Mitt and Ann. God Bless America.

    Class Act.
    As Always.
    Beautifully woven, Kevin.

I am coming up for air here, with everything knocked out of me. Exhausted from the canvassing, lit drops, hours upon hours of phonebanking, sacrificing family time and some family responsibilities (to be honest) to give it my best shot.

I ponder- How could I have been so off base?
    This defies logic.

    The game has changed.
    Time for a new strategy.
If there is still a chance for a positive outcome-
    down the road-
    count me in.

The saddest part of this entire election is not the fact that Mitt Romney actually lost, but the way the liberal left and the media painted such a distorted picture of a very decent man and a patriotic American. Romney was accused of being a killer, a miserly rich man who cares nothing for anything but money. I saw many incidents of Mitt Romney helping people for no other reason other than he cares about people and wants to help in whatever way he can. I can get over the loss in the election but I will never forgive the despicable behavior of the liberals and the Obama team. I cant think of any group that has showed such a lack of character and a tendency to live in the gutter. Our country died a little last night not for the election of Obama but the attempt to destroy a very good and decent man.

So well stated, Romney was not who I supported in the primaries, but I came to realize that he was he was who we needed at this time–and our best chance to save the country– as Bill Clinton might say Crony Big Government Leftist Elitist (who do nothing to improve the life of their constituents) 100—-America –0

I just wanted to add my thanks to Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan. I have never been this devastated about a Presidential outcome as this one. I’ve been around for several. Also, Kevin, thank you so much for your website. It really means so much to me. (Btw, a little donation to the website would be great “thank you” for Kevin) One more thing, I truly believe the election was stolen. I’m not very sophisticated about those things, but too many things just do not add up. However, we are not giving up.

First let me thank Mr. Romney for running the kind of campaign that a “Real American Hero” would run. I pass along my familys congratulations for having represented us Very, Very well! You, your wife Ann and Paul shed blood sweat and tears for us and I want you to know I sincerely appreciate all you have done! May God be with you and your family as we all go forward into the unknown! Kevin, thank you for your work and this forum to express our thanks!

Thank you Kevin, for saying what is in my heart but I hadn’t been able to put into words. There’s nothing to add. I hope someone in Governor Romney’s circle will get this to him.

I had a dream. I woke up Wednesday morning and reality hit me in the face. I want to thank you Kevin for writing such a beatiful thank you to governor mitt romney. i cant remember a candidate who was so righr for our country. The pain of losing mitt romney as the next president is overwhelming. Reading your letter to mitt soothed my wound. I hope he sees all the love and respect we have for him. He ran an almost perfect campaign. Your letter should be signed by Romney supporters to let him know that he did nothing wrong and that we feel pain in losing him as our next president.

Thank you, Kevin. I have seen this nowhere else and it disgusts me that I don’t. Everything is blame, blame, blame. Mitt and Ann are God-fearing, decent people and they deserve all our thanks and praise for going against the revenge-seeking, enemy-punishing Marxist-in-Chief.

Many thanks, Kevin, for this beautiful letter and tribute to Mitt and Ann Romney (and the Ryans too) for their hard-fought campaign. They campaigned their hearts out and we recognize and appreciate it.

Many of us still believe Mitt actually WON but had the election stolen from him via fraud and vote tampering. Hope the Romneys received your grateful words and realize there are millions of us who feel the same.
