Back in 2008, following Obama’s less than compelling reaction on the campaign trail to Russia invading neighboring Georgia, Sarah Palin remarked that Ukraine could be next. The left attacked her, mocked her, called her comments “strange” and “far-fetched”.
Today, the scenario is very real. Russia’s puppet parliament just voted unanimously to approve military action against Ukraine. This after paramilitary forces, likely of Russian origin and backing, have already seized government buildings and airports within the Crimean region of Ukraine.
Which means, all those fawning, sycophantic, Obama-protecting liberals… all those self-righteous, self-described “experts” on foreign policy… all those talking heads on the television were WRONG.
Sarah Palin was right, folks.
I wonder which of those supposed experts has the guts to admit it.
I’m sure most of you have seen this photo already. It’s from the G20 summit. Supposedly, this had something to do with the discussion over Russia’s involvement in the Syria conflict.
I thought we’d try something a little different. This photo just looks so ripe for some snarky captions. Post your captions below!

What is it that Rahm Emanuel likes to say? Never let a good emergency go to waste.
Ukraine, and the rest of Eastern Europe, really, is in serious financial trouble…so much so that there are runs on Ukrainian banks, with depositers unable to claim their cash.
The unrest and tension this causes has to be viewed in terms of not only the global economic meltdown, but in terms of Russian ambitions towards the Ukraine, and specifically, the Crimean port Russia wants to take back from the Ukraine.
Keep your eye on this. If unrest, riots, and disorded can be fomented in the Ukraine, watch Russia sweep in and take its port while chaos and emergency provide an opportunity to ram through what they want.
Sort of like Obama and the Trillion Dollar Spending Bill, and whatever Rahm Emanuel’s up to all day.

Moscow takes another step towards rebuilding the Russian Empire today (Obama prepares to send beer and hugs)
The seven-nation “Rapid Reaction Force” Moscow announced today involves Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. It comes on the heels of the announcement that Kyrgyzstan will no longer allow the United States use of a military base there to coordinate missions into Afghanistan.
It’s all the latest in the ongoing chess game Vladimir Putin’s been playing with the United States, while the American media’s been drinking Kool-Aid and the public’s been muttering Hope! Change! over and over again.
The change that’s coming is a revitalized Russian Empire with something to prove.
The Russo-Georgian War in August was a preview of things to come. Cutting off Europe’s gas supplies through the Ukraine was provocation Putin hopes will open an opportunity for him to resolve the Black Sea Crimean naval base issue once and for all in Russia’s favor. Hindering American efforts in Afghanistan serves Russia’s interests, as it distracts a new American administration that already seems like it doesn’t have its eyes on the ball.
Obama owns Iraq and Afghanistan now. If things fall apart in Afghanistan, especially, with a resurgent Taliban ready to swoop in and take back the country the moment American commitment falters, it will be a disaster of epic proportions for the Kool-Aid Gang.
So, with this “Rapid Reaction Force” Putin signals he’s ready to send in the Grizzlies whenever needed. Obama, meanwhile, is still dancing with pudgy Care Bears.
Disaster waiting to happen!
India seems to have evidence Pakistan knew in advance of the Mumbai bombings (and did nothing to stop them)
We don’t believe for a moment that India and Pakistan will allow this to lead to full scale war: the nukes in both of their hands keep that from happening. If nothing else happens in the next few months, this situation will cool off as it always does between these two neighbors. It is disconcerting, however, that Pakistan knew of the Mumbai bombings and did nothing to stop them. That’s a new twist in all of this. If there’s more proof of Pakistani awareness of other attacks on India in the future, all bets could be off, as that would be impossible to go unchallenged.
As Obama takes office, the media of course hypes the India/Pakistan and Gaza conflicts as the main challenges facing the new administration. We believe the invasion Putin’s planning of Ukraine to permanently reclaim the Crimea is a more pressing matter.
But the conflicts that are going to haunt and challenge the United States for the next four years are not any of the above, but instead will be found in Africa and Afghanistan. Samantha Power, one of Obama’s favorite advisers, has his ear, and her mission in life is to involve the United States in the bloody tribal violence and civil unrest in Africa, all across the continent, from Sudan to Somalia, Zaire to Zimbabwe. She wants American boots on the ground everywhere, while the biggest question we have is what, exactly, Obama will do in Kenya — since the American-backed government in Nairobi is the very same one Obama’s cousin Odinga launched a bloody campaign to unseat. Obama campaigned for his cousin in 2006, so why wouldn’t he help his cousin takeover Kenya in 2009?
The Taliban is resurgent in Afghanistan and needs to be eliminated once and for all. Will Obama do the right thing and send troops in to win our current forgotten war? The American public pays little attention to Afghanistan, so who knows what he will do there. But, if he does nothing, and especially if he withdraws the US troops that are there now, the Taliban will retake Kabul and the rest of the country. Count on that.
