Today in History: November 10th, 2012
Two disturbing and downright frightening memes are circulating this November 10th here in 2012:
1. That voter fraud and electronic ballot tampering stole the 2012 election for Democrats and…
2. That people are now afraid of the federal government and believe Valeri Jarrett and Democrats will “get revenge” on them now that Barack Obama is free to do as he pleases for the next four years.
Let’s take a look at each of these and start thinking about what is real and what’s just fear porn.
As far as the election goes, it’s clear that Legal Paper Ballots should be used in every state to form a paper trail record for all voting. The electronic voting machines can’t be trusted because they can be easily manipulated. Neither Republicans nor Democrats want to see electronic voting ended because both sides hope to benefit from manipulation of the system someday. Legal Paper Ballots make it harder to rig elections since the physical ballots would need to be “lost” or destroyed for a political party to steal these votes. Can electronic voting be done away with so that all states are required to use Legal Paper Ballots? That’s a change that’s going to take a grassroots effort to push forward…in a country that has yet to take any real interest in voter fraud.
The sad reality is that ballot integrity and voter fraud issues are just boring for most people in our pop-culture-obsessed country to bring themselves to care about. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get them to care…it’s just going to take a lot more work and creativity than the Republican Party in particular has ever put into anything. For an effort like this to succeed, we’d actually need to get Democrats to care about eliminating electronic voting too. In the last weeks of the 2012 presidential race, the Left was actually revved up and CONVINCED that Tagg Romney had purchased all the electronic voting machines in Ohio and was going to use them to “steal the election for his father”. Another fear porn meme was that “a Spanish company had acquired all the voting machines” and was going to rig them for one party or the other, depending on the highest bidder. So, it’s actually pretty common for people to become terrified of electronic voter fraud…but they just don’t carry that fear into action and do something about it.
Since voter fraud drops from the radar until right before an election, nothing seems to get done about it…and we’ll be in the same situation in 2014 and 2016 as we are in today. If that’s not acceptable to you,then consider making voter fraud prevention a personal hobby of yours. In the past, people had hobbies…things they excelled at through daily practice and continued fascination. In 2012, I think a lot of us just end up coming home, turning on the tee-vee or booting up the computer, and don’t specialize in anything in the form of a “hobby”…but maybe it’s time to rethink this and become armchair experts in ballot integrity.
It’s going to take a lot of work…and the key will be to bring as many people into this hobby with you as possible…but it can be done. There’s a great many things about the 2012 elections that just don’t add up. It’s not just that the results are wildly different from what many of us thought…but that there are reports of counties voting 112% or 141% of the registered voters on their rolls. Since that’s not possible without fraud, we know ballot integrity issues must play a role in our election and very well could have affected the outcome.
The Ministry of Truth that is our national media has no interest in covering this story or figuring out what happened in the 2012 elections. But, it’s certainly a case for armchair detectives out there who could make voter fraud detection a newfound hobby going forward.
The problem with massive conspiracies like one that would result in a stolen election is that there are too many people involved for the secret to be kept forever. It’s tempting to believe the fear porn peddlers who shout “The election was stolen!”, but rationally you have to ask yourself how Democrats could have pulled that off without anyone realizing it…and how that would have happened in states where Republicans control the Secretary of State’s offices (which oversee the elections). Perhaps Republicans and Democrats join forces to allow the voter fraud to continue…or maybe widespread fraud of epic proportions isn’t happening and it’s just an emotional coping mechanism being put out there as a meme today for people upset about another four years of Obama.
We really don’t know, because Minitru has no interest in covering any of this and the learning curve for becoming expert in ballot integrity is high. I actually have a stack of books on voter fraud that are in my “need to get to” pile. Today I’m going to sit down with my daily scheduled and find an hour or two a day to focus on teaching myself about the election system in this country, with a special emphasis on noting when the electronic voting machines started to gain prominence and what clues have emerged that those numbers are being manipulated. I’m also going to look into what regular people can do on the ground where they live to keep an eye on what their local boards of election are up to. I’m sure you could think of a few things you could do on your own to begin your new hobby of “voter fraud detection”.
Are you afraid of the government now?
Fear is a ridiculously powerful force amongst Americans today…and it’s heartbreaking to see because “Americans” as I know them are supposed to be the rough and tumble, pioneer and frontier spirit, people who aren’t afraid of anything.
I have a very good friend who is so terrified right now by what she imagines Barack Obama will personally do to her that she’s going to delete her entire online presence and is looking into moving and changing her name so it makes it more difficult for “them to find me and put me in jail for dissent”. There’s no reasoning with this woman, as she’s become convinced that Democrats are going to dissolve the Constitution and remove our Freedom of Speech…and that Barack Obama will soon begin jailing all those who have opposed him. This is a personal friend of mine…and it shocks me that this kind of thinking has penetrated into people I talk to every day.
This is the kind of thing my boyfriend Justin’s mother CarolAnne goes on about all the time because she listens to some radio show late at night that insists we’re a few months away from the government coming for people door to door and executing them in the streets for disloyalty to Barack Obama. This is all craziness.
And, I remind you, it’s the sort of things I listened to Democrat claiming would happen during George W. Bush’s presidency. In Boystown, the gay “community leaders” frequently tell young gay guys that Republicans will “round up gays and put us into concentration camps and kill us all!”…so this is the big reason given for gays to always vote Democrat. After Bush won reelection in 2004, I remember every Democrat in my life insisting that Bush would use the Patriot Act to somehow declare himself “President for Life” and hold onto power forever. Look how that worked out in 2008.
If you’re someone who is currently terrified of Democrats sending goons to either murder you or “jail you from your families” then today is a good day to start taking more deep breaths and sitting down with a pen and paper to keep track of all your fears. It might actually be a good thing to see if there is an affordable counselor where you live. Justin’s actually going to be seeing a therapist he works with once in a while because his mother has been filling his head with the idea that Barack Obama’s going to have me killed in the next few years, and CarolAnne has been telling Justin he needs to leave me and move back down to Arkansas “where he can be safe”. This is mostly CarolAnne trying to get her hands back on Justin and to get him out of a gay relationship so she can have another chance in Arkansas to “turn him straight” through “treatment” of some kind (like she and Justin’s father have tried on him before).
I think CarolAnne actually believes that Obama will have me murdered, or perhaps it will be Valerie Jarrett that does it (I’m not sure what CarolAnne’s imagining today)…but 80% of what she’s doing is just to get her son out of Chicago and living in her basement in Eureka Springs…which is where she’s wanted him since he left home 8 years ago. There are a lot of people who use fear and some national event to push agendas they had all along…but being terrified of “Obama dissolving the Constitution and enacting revenge against all who opposed him!” is a novel and exciting way for these people to get caught up in something new…while edging forward old agendas.
I remember the craziness that surrounded the Y2K hysteria back in 1999…and how people who are inclined to jump onto conspiracy bandwagons and freak themselves out reveled in the bizarre predictions of disaster that exploded as the changeover to 2000 neared. None of that doom came to pass…just as none of the things Democrats were terrified of under George W. Bush happened either. Such is the same for Barack Obama’s second term.
Yes — there will be scores of executive orders and regulations that will kill small businesses, weaken the country, and tank the economy. That is indeed going to happen, because that’s what Democrats do when they are in power. Expect a whole lot of this between now and 2014 (when hopefully Americans will have had enough and Republicans win back the Senate and take hold of more governors’ mansions).
Yes — Obama will attempt to sign all sorts of crazy UN treaties and the Internet as we know it could go away before the 2016 elections. That could happen, but look at the outcry against SOPA and the other crazy things Democrats have tried to do to the Internet in recent years. This is an issue that rankles the Democrats’ base and causes massive internal fighting…so don’t think for a minute this will get far.
No — there will be no suspending of the Constitution or removal of Freedom of Speech. That’s just not going to happen. It is the great white shark that’s not swimming in your bathtub no matter how much you want it to be there so that you can be afraid of it. No one is going to come for you or put you or your family in jail because you don’t agree with Barack Obama or Democrats. No one is going to murder you…and, no, Andrew Breitbart was not murdered either. As shocking as his death was, it was not murder. It was unfortunate and tragic…but so are a lot of things these days, regrettably.
Crippling fear and conspiracy theories are the biggest danger we face right now…and Democrats WANT you to be afraid and for you to retreat into silent obscurity “to keep your families safe”. This is what Democrats want…for people who used to be fired up in the Tea Party to just shut down, succumb to bizarre fears, and uninvolved themselves from the world.
If America means anything to you, then I hope you won’t do that.
I have no clue what you intend to do in the days and months and years ahead, but I want to step up my efforts…not downgrade them. I have absolutely zero fear of the Obamians and the Left coming to get me, taking me away, or murdering me. This is the United States of America and people are not dragged off to be murdered by goons or thugs for political opposition to the party in power. That does not happen here and will not happen here. It is dangerous to allow yourself to even think things like this. That’s how the sharks get into your bathtubs.

This is an Open Thread, so please post anything you think is interesting or important here.
If you are afraid of the government now and really think Obama is going to send someone to either jail you or murder you, then please use today to get a handle on that fear. Talk about it in comments if you like, but if you want to keep it private at least sit down with that pen and paper and see if you can diagram the fear out. When you look at things on paper you can sometimes see that emotion may be getting the best of you and that logistically Valerie Jarrett and the rest of the Democrat machine are not spending time planning your murder today. At the very least, think about how many people they’d come after before they’d ever get to you…and include in your diagram all the points at which this would be stopped before it got anywhere near YOU.
If you can’t tamp down the irrational fears, then take some action with them and come up with a survival or escape plan. Instead of just being crippled with fear, plot out what you’d do if Obama really did start “rounding people up” as the fear mongers insist. Justin would drive down at high speed to live in his mother’s basement…and she’d shrink him down and stuff him back inside her womb if she could, because that’s what CarolAnne really wants…so have complete control over her son again and have him be her baby boy once more. I’m not budging or moving for anyone and if the Obama Regmine wants to come for me, I say bring it. I have absolutely nothing to lose and have no fear of being murdered by these people…and if they did it, I’d happily be martyred for speaking out against what the Left is doing to America.
This is the exact same thing that Muslims do to the West…where they scare the bejeebus out of enough people that critics and opponents of Islam withdraw into the wallpaper and fall silent…because they are afraid of being beheaded or blown-up or otherwise murdered by Muslims. I see people out there as terrified of Barack Obama and Democrats today as people in Europe are of Muslims…and now people want to self-censor and hide so that they don’t end up on the radar of the domestic jihadists they imagine in the Democrat Party.
I’ve always said that Europeans are cowards and fools for not standing up to Islam…and the same is true for people who won’t stand up to the Left here in this country.
Whatever happens in the next four years, I intend to use every day to do SOMETHING to get the word out to the people who sat out the 2012 election that their votes are needed in 2014 and 2016 to get this country back on track and boot the Left from power. It’s your choice what you want to do, or think you can do, but at the very least I hope you keep educating yourself and becoming expert on everything that’s going on.
We’re living in a difficult period of American history and unfortunately voters decided this week to put our recovery on hold and instead suffer for four more years. There’s nothing we can do about that now, but we can work hard to make sure things start being corrected in 2014. Hide under the blankets or move into the basement if you want…and be afraid of sharks that aren’t really living in your bathtub…but there’s real work to be done, folks.
