Monday Open Thread: David Letterman Boycott Day Six
Click here for a list of David Letterman’s advertisers.
Remember, putting pressure on three of Letterman’s biggest advertisers (Olive Garden, Mars Candy, Kelloggs, and Johnson+ Johnson) is more effective than diluting the heat to the dozens of companies that advertise on Letterman. Getting 3 or 4 large companies to stop supporting sexist and misogynist Letterman for “joking” about the statutory rape of a 14 year-old will have a big impact on CBS. We do not believe Letterman will be fired, because his joke was not racial, and the only time political activists like Letterman are fired for “jokes” are when they are racial in nature. Sexism and misogyny is largely ignored in this country — partly because women (and the men who support them) are not as effective at maintaining boycotts and pressuring corporate America the way Al Sharpton and the black community are.
Please use this open thread to report any new developments regarding Letterman’s advertisers, but post any new advertisers you spot or new addresses you find at the David Letterman Advertisers thread: this way, all those addresses and sponsor names are always in one place.
What else is on your mind today?
Besides the developments in Iran, we’re disgusted to see the photos on Drudge Report of terrorists Dr. Utopia released from Guantanamo Bay and sent to Bermuda: and there they are, splashing in the ocean, having a marvelous time.
All the while, so many Americans can’t even dream of going to a place like Bermuda…and the families of those killed on 9/11 and in other attacks by Islamists are still struggling to stay afloat financially without their loved ones.
But, Dr. Utopa believes terrorists deserve to live in luxury, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the cool breezes off the ocean.
It’s despicable…the change we can believe in.
UPDATE: Mark Steyn asks the question: Why is it funny for Letterman to joke about the statutory rape of Willow Palin, but yet the Left never mentions the inconvenient fact that Dr. Utopia’s brother, George Obama, is a rapist who’s been banned from ever entering Great Britain again? Shouldn’t this be comedy gold in Letterman’s world, too? Because rape is so damn funny, according to Letterman, CBS, and The Olive Garden, Mars Candy, Kelloggs, and Johnson + Johnson.
UPDATE #2: Great take on Palin never backing down. And, also, a call for everyone to stand with her against the liberal left’s attacks — if not now, then when? Or are female politicians forever to face misogyny and sexism from the left with no one to back them up? The reason these clowns like Letterman do this is because we don’t join forces across the aisle to stop it. Democrats are silent when Palin is attacked. Republicans are silent when Hillary is attacked. If we teamed up to shut people like Letterman down, then NO WOMAN WOULD BE ATTACKED THIS WAY, and instead we could focus on issues that matter. THAT’S WHY it’s important to stand with Palin now…and then stand with Hillary together the next time this crap is pulled on her, too. Just like with the black community, if we put aside our other differences and rally together when “one of our own” is attacked, the MSM will grow terrified of ever joking about statutory rape or slutty flight attendants again.
Sunday Open Thread: Letterman Boycott Day Five
Click here for a list of David Letterman’s Advertisers to boycott.
Please add any new advertisers you spot on either Letterman’s show or on his website to the thread above so that we can keep a running list all in one place, instead of spread out over multiple threads.
Use today’s thread for any updates you may have heard about any of Letterman’s sponsors.
h/t to Pumapac.org for the following photoshops of some of Letterman’s advertisers, reflecting their support for Letterman and his misogynistic, pedophilic jokes about a 14 year-old girl being statutory raped by Alex Rodriguez during the seventh inning of a New York Yankees game:

We need photoshops done for Mars Candy products (Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, Mars Bars) and Johnson + Johnson products as well. Take their logo and add a new catch phrase, such as “Snickers: the snack you crave when you’re done laughing about statutory rape” or “Johnson + Johnson: household products for people who think the statutory rape of 14 year-olds is funny”.
Give the brand managers nightmares, and the advertisers will clip their support for Letterman. Once that happens, CBS will be forced to do something about the sexism and misogyny Letterman wallows in on his late night pigfest.
Does Wyeth Pharmaceuticals support the statutory rape of 14 year-olds?
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals is headquartered in Madison, NJ and is one of the largest research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare product companies in the world. It is also, by way of Centrum vitamins, one of David Letterman’s sponsors for The Late Show with David Letterman. Every Centrum vitamin you buy helps keep the lights on in the Ed Sullivan Theater, where on June 8th 2009 David Letterman treated statutory rape as a laughing matter when he “joked” that 14 year-old Willow Palin, the only Palin daughter who attended a baseball game that day, was “knocked up” by 33 year-old Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees during the game.
“Knocking up” a 14 year-old girl is statutory rape.
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Centrum vitamins support the exploitation and brutalization of young women by buying ad space on David Letterman’s program and website.
WRITE TO WYETH AND LET THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE KNOW THAT YOU WILL NOT PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS SO LONG AS THEY CONTINUE TO SUPPORT STATUTORY RAPE OF MINORS BY WAY OF THE DAVID LETTERMAN SHOW:
C-Suite Executives of Wyeth:
(1) Bernard Poussot – Chairman, President, CEO
(2) Timothy P. Cost – Senior VP, Corporate Affairs
(3) Gregory Norden – SVP and CFO
(4) Jeffrey E. Keisling – VP Corporate Information Services and CFO
Use this address:
Wyeth
PO Box 237155
New York, New York 10023
and also send letters to the above executives at this address:
Wyeth
5 Giralda Farms
Madison, New Jersey 07940
Also, FAX Wyeth letters at: FAX (973) 660-7111
Call Wyeth at Phone: (973) 660-5500
Email Wyeth at: pr@wyeth.com
If you want to GUARANTEE these executives will read your letter, FedEx it to them at the Giralda Farms address. FedEx-es are rushed directly up to the executive’s office.
Writing letters and mailing them through the USPS is the next best option: those letters will be processed by the mailroom and will ultimately reach the executives.
FAX-ing is also a great way to get your complaint to Wyeth. All of these options generate paper at the company that Wyeth must deal with.
Calling Wyeth comes after FAX-ing in terms of what will have an impact.
Emails are the weakest way of reaching Wyeth, but are stil a way to get your point across if you can’t do any of the above.
Be polite, professional, and keep asking Wyeth how it could support a program like Letterman’s where the statutory rape of 14 year-olds is treated as comedy material. Ask what Wyeth’s corporate policy is on statutory rape, and inquire whether the June 8th episode of David Letterman’s show is indicative of how Wyeth feels about women.
Saturday Open Thread: David Letterman Boycott Day Four
The Olive Garden, Mars Candy, and Kelloggs are three of David Letterman’s biggest advertisers.
What is their corporate stance on the statutory rape of a 14 year old at a baseball game, which David Letterman (and, most likely, men like him in groups such as NAMBLA) think is hilariously funny? If these companies continue to advertise on The Late Show after Letterman so vulgarly said that New York Yankess player Alex Rodriguez, 33, “knocked up” Willow Palin, 14, the only Palin daughter at the New York Yankees game June 8th that Letterman was “joking” about, then these companies support the exploitation and brutalization of minors by helping to keep David Letterman on the air.
How does corporate America justify keeping the lights on at the Ed Sullivan theater for Letterman to brutalize children?
How do companies who stand with David Letterman explain to their customers that they knowingly and deliberately pay for Letterman’s platform that encourages the exploitation of minors?
Why should parents continue to patronize companies that sponsor a man who thinks the statutory rape of a 14 year old girl by a hulking 33 year old man is funny?
The addresses for David Letterman’s sponsors are at this link: we believe focusing on directing all complaints towards three big advertisers like The Olive Garden, Mars Candy, and Kelloggs is the most efficient use of time and resources as thousands and thousands of letters sent to these three companies will have more of an impact than thousands and thousands of letters diluted amongst the hundred or so advertisers who rotate spots on Letterman.
Take down three of Letterman’s biggest sources of income, and CBS will take notice and be forced to make changes going forward to protect their revenue stream.
LIST OF LETTERMAN’S ADVERTISERS (SPONSORS)
Please add any new sponsors you saw on last night’s Letterman in the thread linked above so they can continue to be all in one thread for easier reference.
If David Letterman made jokes about blacks instead of women, he would be unemployed today
h/t Redstate: New York lawmakers are calling on CBS to fire David Letterman.
While we do not believe Letterman will be fired, we do believe if we keep up the pressure on Letterman’s advertisers and succeed in getting three big names like The Olive Garden, MARS Candy, and Kelloggs to drop sponsorhip of the Late Show, that we can seriously decrease the prices CBS is able to charge for advertising on his show, making Letterman much, much less of a cash cow for the network. If that happens, and if Letterman’s brand and earning power is damaged irrevocably, then expect Letterman to conveniently announce health problems next year that will end his run at CBS a few years early (his contract was just re-upped to 2012).
There will be a rally/protest against Letterman on Monday June 15th in New York City outside the Ed Sullivan theater, just as Letterman starts taping his Monday episode at 430pm EST.
This is the sort of thing Al Sharpton would organize each and every day against CBS if Letterman had made disgusting racial remarks, instead of a “joke” about the statutory rape of a 14 year-old girl by New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez.
The New York rally needs as big a turnout as possible — and Tea Party style, we need to organize rallies in other major cities going forward too, all aimed at the local CBS affiliates.
Does your town have a CBS “window on the world” style studio where the morning news is broadcast with an open window looking out to the street? If so, head over there with signs condemning Olive Garden, MARS Candy, and Kelloggs for supporting the statutory rape of minors by way of sponsoring Letterman’s program.
Scare the living daylights out of Letterman’s advertisers, get them to drop this show, and CBS will then be forced to deal with Letterman once and for all.
Tell everyone Al Sharpton sent you, and learn from the master.
List of David Letterman's Advertisers
On June 8th, 2009 David Letterman “joked” about 33-year old Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees statutory-raping 14 year-old Willow Palin during the game at the new Yankees Stadium. Willow Palin was the only Palin daughter at the game with her mother, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Letterman “joked” that Palin’s “daughter got knocked up by Alex Rodriguez” during the game. Sex between a 33 year-old and a 14 year-old is statutory rape. Letterman then followed this vulgarity up on June 9th, 2009 by comparing 14 year-old Willow Palin to one of disgraced former Governor Eliot Spitzer’s prostitutes, while calling Governor Palin herself “a slutty flight attendant”.
Every day, add the advertisers you see on David Letterman or his website to this thread so a constantly updated running list is maintained.
Tell the following four companies you will no longer be patronizing them so long as they continue to advertise on Letterman:
Mars Candy (click for address and C-suite names)
Kellogg’s (click for address and full list of C-suite execs)

We’ll have better results if we focus all our might on the four advertisers (like Olive Garden, Mars Candy, Kelloggs, and Johnson + Johnson), but here are other advertisers of David Letterman as well. As one poster put it, “Aside from the cars and electronics, most of Letterman’s ads are for baldness, sexual dysfunction, pain relief, and vitamins. What does that tell you about the man?”

If is far, far more important for you to contact CBS’s advertisers. Only pressure on CBS’ revenue stream will get the executives there to take action against David Letterman. Think about it: CBS knows EXACTLY who and what David Letterman is. They have never had a problem with him or the vulgar, misogynistic things he says and does before. Only if advertisers abandon the network will CBS rethink its commitment to airing the Late Show with David Letterman. Write to the biggest, family-friendly advertisers above first and foremost, but here’s CBS’ contact information as well, in case you are looking for that too:
CBS Contact Info: (212) 975-4321
CBS Executives:
Nina Tassler = nina.tassler@cbs.com
Kelly Kahl = kelly.kahl@cbs.com
Kim Sartori = kim.sartori@cbs.com
Les Moonves = lmoonves@cbs.com
Reason: remember when Michael Phelps was caught with his marijuana bong? Kellogg’s cereal dropped him like a hot potato because its brand image is child-focused for most of its products. Speedo won’t ever drop Phelps, no matter what he does, but we doubt he’ll ever have his face on a McDonald’s happy meal again either.
No candy company will want to be associate with raping 14 year-olds.
Kelloggs won’t want to be involved in another messy advertising relationship after Phelps.
A concerted effort against family-friendly advertisers of Letterman will work, but it will require persistence.
“M&Ms: the candy for people who think rape is super funn!”
“Kelloggs: the breakfast cereal for misogynists and perverts who exploit minor children!”
“Johnson + Johnson: household products for when a 62-year old pig’s own johnson needs statutory rape to get going!”
Now, this should have brand managers racing for the phone if a focus and spirited effort is directed at hammering them each and every day until their ads stop appearing on Letterman’s show and website.
In this economy, a loss of three or four big advertisers like that will indeed be noticed by CBS.
UPDATE #2: Some advertisers, such as Best Western, are claiming they do not advertise on Late Night with David Letterman. This is apocryphal: Best Western buys banner ad space on CBS.com, and these ads appear on CBS.com when you click on the David Letterman page on that site. Best Western, Aerosoles, Paramount’s new Star Trek movie, and other banner ads pop up on every page of David Letterman’s site. This is paid advertising Best Western and these other companies CHOOSE to buy from CBS.
If you are an advertiser upset people who despise rape and refuse to allow Letterman to get away with promoting the rape of minors in New York, then you need to get on the phone to your ad buy account execs and yank your web ads from CBS.com.
No one believes you do not have the power to do this. If Best Western has agents who can post here, then you have agents who can call your advertising firms and stop giving your money to CBS and David Letterman.
It was consistently reported that WILLOW Palin, 14 years old, was in New York, attending events with her mother. Not 18 year old Bristol.
There is NO EXCUSE for Letterman and his writers to “make the mistake” of attacking “the wrong” Palin daughter.
None.
Just as there is no excuse for Best Western or any other advertiser to justify their support for Letterman by claiming, “we only buy ads online, not on TV”.
Best Western: the hotel to stay in if you love jokes about raping minors!
UPDATE #3: Some advice on how to write a good letter to corporate America.
UPDATE #4: Sarah Palin on The Today Show, 6/12/09. As Palin states, there was only one Palin daughter at that Yankees game: 14 year-old Willow Palin. Letterman deliberately said the Palin daughter at the Yankees game was impregnated by Alex Rodriguez during the game. That’s statutory rape of a 14 year-old by a 33 year-old baseball player. Palin calls Letterman out for, days later, trying to spin it that he was talking about “some other daughter” being forcibly impregnated at that baseball game — a daughter who was thousands and thousands of miles away, while 14 year-old Willow was the Palin at the Yankees game, in proximity to Alex Rodriguez. The joke makes no sense if it was indeed about Bristol, and the fact that Letterman never used “the Palin daughter’s name” seems like he deliberately built wiggle room for himself with his Obots and MSM enablers if he got called out for his joke about statutory rape.
Anyone advertising on Letterman’s program shares accountability for the content of his show because without your ad dollars corporate America, Letterman wouldn’t be on the air.
UPDATE #5: Why Democrats like Al Sharpton effectively use boycotts to affect public policy and corporate responsibility — and why conservatives allow the MSM to attack their own with impunity: it all boils down to the simple fact that Democrats never give up, never let up the pressure, while Republicans have poor follow through and don’t effectively organize. More on this from Sebastian Gray, with inisight into how David Letterman could inspire Republicans to see all this as a very teachable moment.
UPDATE #6: As of June 18th, Olive Garden, Embassy Suites, and Hellmann’s Mayo have all pulled their advertising off The Late Show with David Letterman, costing CBS millions of dollars in ad revenue through the end of this year. We’d like to see the pressure continue on Mars Candy, Kelloggs, and Johnson + Johnson until Letterman loses these three big advertisers as well, so keep making those calls, writing those letters, and faxing these three big sponsors until they join Olive Garden in sending Letterman and pigs like him the message that statutory rape is not funny and sexism and misogyny will no longer be tolerated in a world where Letterman could have never gotten away with making racial statements in the same vein. Continued pressure on Mars Candy, Kelloggs, and Johnson + Johnson will make Madison Avenue advertising execs see that attacks on women inspire a whole army of Al Sharptons to stand up for women in the same way the black community rallies when it believes racism is afoot.
