MUST READ: Personal account of why nationwide support needs to pour in for Carl Paladino in New York
Below, we’ve posted a letter we just received from a reader in New York state, talking about what she calls “The Paladino Phenomenon”. It’s really a must read, so we hope you take the time to not only invest in what’s below, but also to take a look at Paladino for yourself and think about what you can do to help make him the next Governor of New York:

This turned out way different from what I started out to write, or probably what you expected. There are numerous issues and facts I wanted to address, but the more I addressed them, the more I saw it would take a New Yorker type article, which would take a week to do, and I do not have a week to do it (as much as I wish I did). So, this is more of a polemic. Writing this made me appreciate all the more the effort and work you do. I feel so strongly about this election. I cannot imagine how you could use this on your site, and hope you understand the sincerity and appreciation for you I felt in sending it. – MM

There are several facts folks need to know about the Paladino phenomenon, and they are all very personal.
First, folks in New York State are sickened because our children move out of state to find jobs and careers. They are refugees. People’s families are torn apart because of the legalized corruption in New York. The insanely high taxes, the insanely intrusive regulatory atmosphere, the stranglehold of the government unions on our government and, more importantly, on our shoddy schools, drive young folks to places where human beings can live their lives in freedom and prosperity, and simply learn.
Second, politics in New York has been refined to a not so sophisticated insider’s game. There is one party in New York, the Parasite Party, feeding off the ever-dwindling folks who work hard, obey the rules, and want only to raise a family knowing their children can get a good education and have prospects of a better life.
What makes this aspect of the Paladino phenomenon personal is the way the Parasite Party insults and disparages the very folks who pay the bills. The GZ mosque is the perfect example of this fact of New York life. We are talked down to by the Parasites, who call us bigots and intolerant.
Third, New York is colloquially divided into an Upstate v. Downstate perspective. This is off kilter. The real division is between Manhatten, Brooklyn, the Bronx and the rest of the state. Manhattan is the capitol of the world, a treasure chest of immense wealth and immense influence (not to mention, a beautiful, astonishing place, full of wonderful people). The wealth and the influence naturally lead to the domination of all New York State. There is no Columbus balancing Cleveland balancing Cincinnati, no Los Angeles in balance with San Francisco, or Houston with Dallas.
The interests of NYC are not the interests of the rest of the state. Outside NYC, the chief business is agriculture. Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Schenectady, Rome, Utica, are not the centers of manufacturing or technology they once were. They are now struggling populations, asphyxiated with mandates imposed – - but not adequately funded – - by the state. New Yorkers are nickled and dimed to feed the Parasite Party. We are bizarrely divided between those who resent the nickel and diming, and those who are not affected. High taxes and oppressive regulations are irrelevant to a powerful elite who transcend New York State, and to those who contribute little or nothing. The elite dominates, and is indifferent to, the rest of the state, and the rest of the state knows it.
Carl Paladino understands: this is personal, it is not business. The Parasite Party is not good for most New Yorkers. They are the Soviet, and he is Lech Walesa.
For folks in Buffalo, Paladino is primarily familiar because of a series of radio ads he ran over time, at his own expense, addressing the shoddiness of the government schools locally. Paladino took the shocking position that children were being inhumanely deprived of the education they needed to live their lives successfully. His commercials began with the signature word, “HELLO!” He then would state the obvious: failure rates and drop-out rates meant actual human beings were the victims of forces for whom the well-being of the students were a peripheral concern. The implicit premise of his advertisements was this: it is within the power of our community to prepare these human beings for success, but politics is getting in the way.

I do not know Paladino personally, although I once got a thank you note from him for something I did, something I do not remember. It was a little thing. I remember because the note was nice and thoughtful and unnecessary. I am not, nor have ever been, in a position to affect his life in any manner (nor the opposite).
I do know folks who know Carl Paladino personally. For what it is worth, I trust these folks, trust their judgment, and have no doubt they are accurate. What they say is: Carl is genuine. He is a normal human, and he cares.
He is shrewd, a great organizer, compassionate and a force of nature. He loves liberty. Paladino resonates because he is himself, understands what is going on in New York, and is fearless in saying what others do not have the nerve to say.
Paladino made something of himself. No person fed him with a silver spoon and cleared the path.
This election for governor in New York represents the essence of the Tea Party. As much as it is about taxes and education policy and legal corruption, it is above all about our culture, here in New York and throughout America. Do we have the courage to shatter the mind-control “shut up!” politics of the Left?
Carl Paladino is unlike any other person running for office today. He is totally himself.
What makes him so fascinating, is the question he implicitly throws in the face of the Parasite Party. Is it possible to be yourself, to speak your mind, and run for office with any prospect to win?
Leftists rely upon intimidation and manipulation designed to have folks not be themselves. They rely on Shut Up.
It takes bravery and courage to confront Pravda and Patrice Lumumba University, the powerful would-be arbiters of our consciousness.
Sarah Palin is the only other person so ably demonstrating exactly what Paladino is doing (well, ok, Christie). The other Tea Party folks are wonderful, they are great, but they do not have the exact personality (like Sarah) – - a personality which is a gift of life – - the blunt ability to confront the Shut Up culture.
Here is the secret of Sarah and Paladino. They are William Buckley, folks who see things as they are, who are willing to sacrifice themselves, and who love their fellow human beings so much, they dare to be themselves.
This year, Paladino is the only one up for election who is absolutely Lech Walesa. His election is the symbol of whether we keep our republic.

From what I’ve seen and read, the GOP in New York is wide open for true conservatives to TAKE OVER. Yes, the state is a mess. But we have one BIG advantage in that there appears to be little or no cuke and mayo RINO establishment here.
I don’t care if the very thought of affiliating yourself with the word Republican makes you break out in hives. Third parties are for fools and the Democrats here are a lost cause.
So if you live in New York State and have ANYTHING to offer … even small jobs like delivering lawn signs … find your local GOP and volunteer. Hubby Dearest did it here a few years back and found the committee nearly DEAD. His enthusiasm helped revitalize the committee, then this year, he was elected to the county committee that helped vet and endorse actual candidates.
THAT’s where we want real conservatives to be. Not on the outside griping about how the party doesn’t give us good candidates whine whine. INSIDE making it happen.

Carl Paladino, the Republican nominee for Governor in New York, needs to make a TV commercial hitting the Democrats hard for their support of the Ground Zero Victory Mosque. This is something the Cocktail Party GOP establishment is skittish about, because the media will HOWL and RAGE at Paladino for doing this…because Democrats strongly support building the Ground Zero Victory Mosque and call anyone opposed to it a bigot, a RAAACIST, and any other vile thing they can think of. Republicans, traditionally, have been too terrified of Democrat name-calling and media disapproval to ever hit Islamization and those who support it hard…but we firmly believe New York voters are looking for a candidate for office who will stand up to this abominable project and directly commit to making sure the Ground Zero Victory Mosque is never built.
Here’s the ad we want Paladino’s team to create:
* Paladino walking on the street in lower Manhattan, talking about the Ground Zero Victory Mosque project. It’s a shot of him, in a shirt and tie, no jacket, telling voters that Cordoba House, the shell company behind the Ground Zero Victory Mosque, takes its name from Cordoba, Spain — where a massive mosque was built to tower over the site of a battle in which Islam claimed a conquest. Cordoba is known throughout Islam as the westernmost push Muslims ever made in conquering the West. This name was deliberately chosen by the people behind the Ground Zero Victory Mosque, just as the site for this mosque was deliberately picked because it is where part of the second jetliner’s landing gear hit after it was plowed into Tower Two of the World Trade Center.
* As Paladino walks, he’s joined by New Yorkers…families and friends of those who were murdered by Islam on 9/11. Paladino continues speaking, and tells voters that the people personally affected by the 9/11 attacks do not want Islam to build a symbol of conquest at Ground Zero. Paladino, with the 9/11 families behind him, holds up a map of lower Manhattan that shows all the buildings that filed insurance damage claims because of the 9/11 attacks…it is a very large circle, where remains were found and the cremated ashes of victims were scattered. This area clearly includes the Ground Zero Victory Mosque site.
* As Paladino and the others walk down the street, more and more people join them…business people, merchants, cab drivers, children, firemen, cops, you name….Paladino tells voters that Andrew Cuomo, Kristen Gillibrand, and Chuck Schumer all back the Ground Zero Victory Mosque…and that President Obama is one of the most eager and enthusiastic supporters of building this mosque at Ground Zero.
* Paladino and the others reach a crowd of construction workers in their hard hats. They are standing in front of the site of the Ground Zero Victory Mosque. He comes before them and he tells the construction workers that New Yorkers don’t want this Ground Zero Victory Mosque built. He asks them if the construction workers of New York want to build a symbol of Islamic conquest on the grave of so many New Yorkers who died nine years ago when those planes were flown into the World Trade Center. The construction workers shout, HELL NO.
* “HELL NO”, Paladino says, directly into the camera, as the construction workers mix with the rest of the crowd and they all surround Paladino.
“Hell no, as your Governor I will dedicate myself to preventing this abomination from being built at Ground Zero and will use the weight of my office and every agency at my disposal to see to it that the Cordoba House project is prevented from victimizing the families of 9/11 survivors again. As your Governor, I believe the people behind this project need to show tolerance and sensitivity to the people of New York who were forever changed that horrible day nine years ago when 3,000 New Yorkers were murdered not far from here. I’m here today saying what needs to be said, while Democrats in the White House and here in New York are siding with the builders of this Ground Zero Victory Mosque. Well, I say this ain’t right, this ain’t respectful, this ain’t the way we should do things in America and as your Governor I’m going to listen to the people and put an end to this madness. I’m Carl Paladino, and if you make me your Governor, I’ll make sure this Ground Zero Victory Mosque is never built”.
We don’t think we’ve ever seen an ad like this…because, as we’ve said, Republicans have always been so scared of fighting back and hitting hard. If Paladino made this ad, here’s what would happen:
* Instantly, the media would excoriate Paladino. They’ll call him a RAAACIST. And a bigot. The talking heads on all the news networks would run the ad over and over again, each time with new experts telling viewers how despicable “Crazy Carl” is for doing this. George Will will scoot his glasses high up near his brow and articulate a thesis on Paladino being a Cro-Magnon. Bill O’Reilly will hate the ad, and call Paladino “Crazy”. Blah blah blah. The end result will see the ad airing, for free, almost nonstop for probably a full news week.
* Paladino’s ad will make him a household name coast to coast, and will definitely get him on the lips of all New Yorkers. We think New Yorkers will, in fact, love the ad. Because New Yorkers by and large agree that Ground Zero Victory Mosque should not be built. Most New Yorkers don’t know the significance of the name “Cordoba House” or that Islam dictates a mosque needs to be built on ground conquered from an enemy, where blood has been spilled, and where the weapons of Islam have damaged an enemies’ structures. Once people hear this, and learn what’s behind this project, they will be horrified. Once horrified, when they see that Democrats support this project, there is no way in Hell they are going to vote Democrat this year. Paladino’s ad, when played nationally, could very well help Republicans coast to coast.
* The Cocktail Party establishment in the GOP is so terrified of upsetting the Media and “giving them ammunition” to say terrible things about Republicans. For too long, the GOP has not pushed hard on issues like this because they’ve been scared of a blowback from the press. Great Merciful Zeus, don’t you see that’s exactly what you want here? The more the Left and Democrats try to demonize someone like Paladino for fighting this Ground Zero Victory Mosque with everything he’s got the more the media will make Paladino a champion of the people…because the people do not want this mosque built. Democrats, in pushing for this mosque, will reveal just how out of touch with both voters and reality they are. The end result will be a gaping chasm between Democrats and the electorate.
* We believe this chasm is waiting to form…and voters want it to form…but it just needs an earthquake triggered by something like Paladino’s ad in New York state. Voters need to be angry with Democrats. They need to lash out emotionally at them at the ballot box. An ad like the one we suggest would accomplish this, because New Yorkers for the most part feel this way…they just need license to vocalize what they are feeling.
Families sitting around the TV watching this ad will start talking about it. Things they might not have said to each other will bubble to the surface. They will be disgusted that Democrats want to build this mosque at Ground Zero. They will be revolted that Democrats are siding with Islam against the 9/11 Families. They will be angry that Democrats and the media attack Carl Paladino for telling the truth.
When it’s time to vote, these people will line up bright and early to vote Democrats out of office…and we think those lines will extend coast to coast.
This is a ballsy, in your face, take no prisoners ad…at a time when Americans are desperate for ballsy, in your face, take no prisoners people to win elected office and kick ass big time in state houses, governors’ mansions, and Congress.

If anyone is in New York and can get this directly to Paladino, we’d appreciate it…because if he did this, Andrew Cuomo would go absolutely insane. Democrats would LOSE IT, and would more likely than not do something stupid and self-destruvtive in response. Paladino wouldn’t just win the election…he’d win it BIG.
We don’t think we’re wrong here, but if you’re in New York, especially, let us know how you think this would go over.

People start filtering into the shot behind him as Paladino walks. These are the families and friends of 9/11 and Ground Zero victims, some of them, such as Debra Burlingame, recognizable.

The name, Cordoba House, was deliberately chosen by the people behind the Ground Zero Victory Mosque, just as the location for this mosque was deliberately picked because it is the site where part of the second jetliner’s landing gear hit after it plowed into Tower Two of the World Trade Center.
An increasing number of people, cops, firefighters, mothers with children, etc., join in walking behind Paladino as he advances through the street. One of the recognizable victims walks at his left shoulder.

Most of the people whose loved ones were murdered in the attack do not want Islam to build a symbol of conquest at Ground Zero.

FREE ADVICE: Republicans in all New York races need to NAIL DEMOCRATS TO THE WALL for their support of the Ground Zero Victory Mosque
The most recent polls in New York state are now showing GOP candidates Carl Paladino and Joe DioGuardi within striking distance of Baron Andrew von Cuomo and Kristen Gillibrand, despite all apparent efforts by the Cocktail Party GOP establishment to lose these races.
Looking at the polling, the Republicans win the whole state save for New York City.
New York City, as to be expected, votes HEAVILY Democrat.
This is where the Ground Zero Victory Mosque comes in, and where Republicans, if they had a clue in Hell, would break with their tradition and really and truly let Democrats HAVE IT for their support of the plan to build an Islamic conquest monument on the bodies of people like our friend Jane and all the rest who died on 9/11.
Andrew Cuomo, Kristen Gillibrand, and Chuck Schumer all advocate the building of the 13-story Victory Mosque abomination on the land now occupied by one of the buildings Muslims hit with jetliners on 9/11. The former Burlington Coat factory Islam intends to raze to build the triumphant mosque was not only struck with the landing gear from one of the planes and irreparably damaged, but was coated with the thick cloud of cremated remains and body parts that blanketed lower Manhattan when Muslims destroyed the Trade Center and murdered thousands of New Yorkers. In Islam, the Koran dictates the construction of a mosque on ground where blood was spilled in a Muslim victory. Hence, the importance to Islam of building on THAT SITE and Islam’s refusal to accept FREE government-owned land elsewhere in Manhattan for this project.
Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer all want the mosque built at Ground Zero…which is defined as any building that filed an insurance damage claim related to the 9/11 attacks (which that Burlington Coat Factory building certainly did, because it was struck with part of a jetliner).
For whatever reason, the Cocktail Party has been scared to punch these Democrats in the face with this lunacy.
Because the Cocktail Party is always so scared of alienating the news media, which also wants the mosque built.
Well, we have a lot of readers on the ground in New York City. Robby’s sister Ann-Louise lives there. Ann-Louise, it just so happens, was a Leftist and an Obama supporter until this Victory Mosque business. Having been personally affected by 9/11, and still occasionally breaking down into tears when reminded of that day, she became ENRAGED when we told her that Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer all want that mosque built.
If this causes a complete 180 in Democrat support in Ann-Louise, and the same reaction is shared by others in New York we know, then Republicans need to make sure that everyone living in New York state knows who is supporting this Ground Zero Victory Mosque and who is against it.
Here’s our thinking:
(1) If Republicans are already winning the rest of New York state, and are only currently losing Manhattan, it’s inconceivable that hitting Democrats for their Victory Mosque support will lose Republicans ground outside New York city. We can’t imagine voters in New York state outside Manhattan would WANT the Ground Zero Victory Mosque built or would gain a negative impression of a Republican candidate for hitting hard on this issue.
(2) New York City voters do not want the Ground Zero Victory Mosque to be built. These are the Ann-Louise voters. These are people who normally lockstep Democrat vote and blindly pull the (D) lever in every election. But, 9/11 makes these people stop and think. Many of them were covered in dust, ash, and cremated remains that day. A lot of them, like Ann-Louise, still have the dirty, bloody suits they were wearing that day preserved in plastic garment bags because they have not been able to even have those clothes dry cleaned, let alone think about putting them on their bodies again without collapsing into tears. If there is one thing that would get New York voters to stay home on election day it is the realization that by voting for Cuomo, Gillibrand, or Schumer they would be casting a vote to help build the Ground Zero Victory Mosque and give Islam a way to crow about its triumphant attack on Americans that day nine years ago.
(3) Because New Yorkers are so brainwashed into the Democrat fold, we don’t have much hope for getting these people to vote Republican, for the first time in their lives, en masse. It was heartbreaking for us to vote Republican for the first time in 2008, because until that year we were dyed in the wool, party-loyal Democrats who were taught that Republicans were evil and should never be voted for. If after all we went through in the 2008 campaign, it was still hard for US to pull that lever back then, then we’re telling you it’s a fool’s hope to believe ANYTHING could bring New Yorkers completely over to the Republican side.
(4) HOWEVER, pursuant to (3) above, the Ground Zero Victory Mosque and New Yorkers’ innate opposition to it is more than enough of an emotional tug to get millions upon millions of loyal Democrats to say a “FU** THEM!” to Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer so that these normally loyal voters sit their butts home on election day. To teach the DNC a lesson.
(5) It’s time Republicans woke up and started tearing pages out of the DNC’s longtime playbook. The most effective tool Democrats have against Republicans is convincing conservatives, time and again, to just sit home “to teach the GOP a lesson for not listening to them”. That’s what gave Obama the White House in 2008, all those millions of conservatives who were egged on by the DNC to “sit home” because “McCain was not conservative enough” and thus the GOP needed to lose “so that better candidates would be run in the future”. Well, folks, do you see the opportunity with this Ground Zero Victory Mosque madness to convince New Yorkers to “teach the DNC a lesson” and force them to “listen to New Yorkers” since the DNC is gung-ho, 100% behind the building of that monument to Islamic conquest that spits right in the face of all those murdered on 9/11?
The reason we’re Independents today, and will never become Republicans, is because the Republican Party at large is just so damn stupid most days.
They never learn from their own mistakes, for one, but more tragically they never see these opportunities to turn the Democrats’ most effective tricks against them.
In “blue states” like New York, Republicans don’t even TRY to win.
When Democrats like Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer slit their own throats by backing something as morally offensive and stomach-turning as the Ground Zero Victory Mosque, Republicans stand back and let the Democrats heal, never seizing the moment to go in for the political kill and completely exsanguinate them.
It’s maddening.
Now, in the spirit of not doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results, and aware we have this national platform afforded to us here, we want to put the challenge out to all of you to find a way to do what the GOP will not do in New York state…and find a way to get the voters of New York, particularly New York City, so disgusted with Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer over this Ground Zero Victory Mosque that at bare minimum they sit their butts home on election day and refuse to vote for these three Democrats (and thus give them support for their stance on the Ground Zero Victory Mosque).
How can we, and in a greater sense the Tea Party, do what the Cocktail Party GOP won’t do…and win these New York elections?

First up, in Alaska, Lena Jabrowski is really humiliating herself.
This is the damn fool (and spoiled child) who lost the Alaskan GOP primary and then decided to stage an elongated puppet show of a campaign, for her own personal amusement, the way HRH Princess Caroline of Kennedy on the Democrat side makes her Manhattan servants stage life-sized, Richard Pryor-esque versions of various classic board games, with live human toys as the pieces.
Princesses Lena and Caroline were given everything they ever wanted by their families, though Lena actually managed to get that Senate seat she always wanted, while Princess Caroline keeps complaining that “all (she) ever got was that lousy pony Macaroni” and “the creeps” from cousin William Kennedy Smith.
Lena Jabrowski, senior Senator of Alaska, is going around the state telling everyone to sharpen their best crayons so they can write her name on the ballot come November 2nd.
She’s conducting spelling bees from Anchorage to Juneau all the way up to the North Pole, trying to teach all the people who didn’t like her enough to vote for her when her name’s printed on things to vote for her now that they have to spell her name correctly (or draw an “accurate enough” picture of her (which can’t be a nude)).
L-E-N-A-J-A-B-R-O-W-S-K-I.
Make sure everyone in Alaska who wants to enable Princess Lena’s little puppet show spells her name JUST LIKE THAT so Lena Jabrowski has no problems at all with this Kennedy-esque lunatic write-in scheme.
Which is failing miserably, FYI, because the latest polls say Joe Miller is now in a double digit lead over whatever Democrat crazy person is running against him. With Governor Palin’s Alaskan supporters backing Miller, and only people who hate the Governor voting for the Democrat, this leaves us to wonder who outside the Jabrowski clan will be using their sparkly crayons to draw pictures of Princess Lena on their ballots.
“Be sure you spell it L-E-N-A,” Jabrowski shouts from a bullhorn as it winds its way through the streets of Juneau. ”If you write L-E-I-A by mistake, then that unstable Carrie Fisher nut with the cinnamon rolls stapled to her head might get to be Senator, and my family said I’M the only princess in Alaska…besides those Princess Cruise ships…but I’m still the only Princess that’s not a thousand ton boat, so what I wants, I gets. Hear that world, LENA JABROWSKI will triumph!”.
R-E-D-I-K-U-L-U-S.
Then, in New York, something almost as hilarious is happening.
The Cocktail Party GOP establishment in that state seemingly had zero interest in picking up the Senate seats and Governor’s mansion, for whatever absurd reason. They could have run Rudy Giunliani and George Pataki for the Senate, and they would have won…easily.
We’d never heard of the Tea Party-endorsed candidate, Paladino, that’s running for Governor but we have to say the man is beyond hilarious and he’s driving Prince Andrew Cuomo absolutely BONKERS.
He keeps hitting Cuomo with all sorts of jabs UNHEARD OF for a Republican to use in a race.
First, he called Cuomo a sissy…and keeps saying he should “be a man for once in his life”. Paladino makes fun of Cuomo for being a “little prince” and then rags on him for not agreeing to a debate, with all that political experience he has. Paladino actually said “The only debate I’ve ever been in is maybe in a bar”, and then asked what Cuomo was afraid of.
Oh, Great Merciful Zeus, Cuomo’s blood pressure went through the roof, he started throwing furniture around, and he kept shouting “Let me at ‘em, let me at ‘em” like he was an angry bulldog in an old Warner Bros. cartoon.
Paladino is so hilarious with this stuff that the New York media is calling him “Crazy Carl”.
This is exactly what Paladino needs to be doing.
For decades, voters have watched one boring, sorry, limp, impotent, Cocktail Party establishment-backed Romney Republican trot onto the state in his blue blazer and khakis and mumble a bunch of nonsense unenthusiastically afraid of upsetting the media or being too aggressive in pursuit of office in a blue state.
And for decades the Cocktail Party establishment has been fine with this, because they’ve never really cared about winning any races, and are just more content to sit around, drinking their scotch, eating their soggy cucumber-and-mayonnaise sandwiches on starched white bread and complaining about how spicy it all tastes.
Who wants to vote for THAT?
Bring on Crazy Carl and his to the point, accurate, jabs at the Democrats’ dynastic entitlement in states like New York.
And our favorite point of all: Paladino is going for Cuomo’s jugular for supporting the Ground Zero Victory Mosque.
This is something that Republicans need to run on in New York, and force Cuomo, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Chuck Schumer to repeatedly defend and praise as much as possible…because Democrats are insane if New Yorkers would send any of these clowns into office if Republicans can consistently show the three of them want that abomination built at Ground Zero.
The Cocktail Party would never get into this, because the Cocktail Party is most concerned with scoring points with the state media and eating their non-spicy, bland, sammiches.
But, this is the road to victory in New York, we are TELLING YOU.
Don't cry for her, Hyannis Port. Princess Caroline's not getting what she wants.
In case you haven’t figured this out yet, Team Hillary has a list of who supported HRC during the primaries, and who didn’t. That list isn’t going anywhere.
Caroline and Ted Kennedy, Bill Richardson, Claire McCaskill, Kathleen Sebelius, John Kerry…all people on the wrong side of that list, and all people who will ultimately get theirs in the end.
But one thing Caroline won’t be getting is that Senate seat she wants. Not if Team Hillary has anything to say about it (and they do).
Governor Paterson is under increasing daily pressure, some of it quiet and behind the scenes, to tell Ted and Caroline Kennedy to take a much-deserved flying leap. With excellent Senate candidates like Carolyn Maloney and Andrew Cuomo to choose from, Princess Caroline’s sudden desire to hold court in a Senate office and waive to a less than adoring public seems more and more delusional every day.
The Rod Blagojevich business, of which Rahm Emanuel is VERY MUCH INVOLVED, sure doesn’t help Caroline’s chances.
Whomever fills ANY Senate vacancies, in any state, this year is going to be under intense scrutiny now. That appointment needs to be rooted in the best and most rock solid interests of the people of that state, be it Illinois or New York. People like Jesse Jackson Jr., Caroline Kennedy, and Valerie Jarrett are just not going to cut it.
But, don’t cry for Caroline. She’s still “American Royalty”, has a Neil Diamond song inspired by her, and even had her own pony once (every little girl’s dream, before growing up and wanting to play Senator instead of dress-up).
Sorry. The same people who spent so much time attacking Sarah Palin as unqualified (despite winning two mayoral elections and one statewide election to governor in her own right) don’t have a leg to stand on pushing Princess Caroline for a Senate appointment…not when so many non-royal, hardworking, capable people are out there to take over for Hillary Clinton.
And from the looks of things, Team Hillary’s on top of making sure “American royalty” doesn’t win the day on this one.
