I absolutely love this story. I think that the Stuxnet worm that has shut down Iran’s nuclear facility at Natanz is one of the most intriguing and brilliant counter terrorist moves anyone has ever pulled off. I may be a little over the top with praise but I am so impressed by this whole operation that I just can’t contain my enthusiasm. The best part of this whole story is that it was a joint US/Israeli operation (just like the good old days) tested and perfected at Israel’s own nuclear facility in Dimona and greenlighted by George Bush (and followed through and expedited by Obama). I can’t even imagine the brainpower involved in developing and delivering this very complex worm. It’s a worm that had one mission and it did it’s job almost perfectly ( a few glitches…but it got the job done). In the words of the great George W. Bush…mission accomplished.
The project’s political origins can be found in the last months of the Bush administration. In January 2009, The New York Times reported that Mr. Bush authorized a covert program to undermine the electrical and computer systems around Natanz, Iran’s major enrichment center. President Obama, first briefed on the program even before taking office, sped it up, according to officials familiar with the administration’s Iran strategy. So did the Israelis, other officials said.
Now…I can’t wait to see the movie…..and you can bet that there will be a movie. It’s the perfect Hollywood spy thriller. Simply brilliant.

I am happy for this and think that it is an ingenuous way to infiltrate into their systems.
What I find hard to believe about the whole story is that Obama was even made aware of it and that he sped it up. I think if e knew about it earlier, he would have tried to end it. I bet in reality he just found out the truth a few days ago and they are trying to give him some credit on the plan.
I’m not sure about that. W did a truly “unprecidented” thing & made sure that Obama received the same daily reports & info that W did.
That being said, you can bet if Obama had heard about it a year earlier, then I agree that it would’ve been killed.
W did do that and from what I understood he even got Obama’s input on some of his actions.
But I think this thing was so top secret that it would not have been in the regular reports. This had to be really secret to keep the media and China from finding out about it. You know if the New York Times was to have known about this – it would be on the front page. And China would be scared that they were a target also.

That is exactly what I thought. Had Zippy actually known about this, he would have killed it.
I’m thinking that it played right into Obama’s laziness and his agenda. Let Israel take care of it, all they while he gets to diss them about terrorism and the settlements on the West Bank.
Props to GWB. This was a brilliant way to stall for time. Now it is clear why he didn’t attack Iran during the last weeks of his Presidency. However we are still left with the problem. All it did was kick the can down the road. That’s what Obama saw, too.

I wonder…. If it is made (movie), my money is on the fact that they will sidetrack the Bush connection and simply concentrate on the fact that it was Obama all the way.
Can’t change any of the little minds out there by giving Bush some credit for the many things he did well. A real gentleman.

Yes it’s an attack on Islam. Islam is the problem. Islam is what inspirers young throw away men from this polygamist cult to kill the infidels. Islam is to blame for every terrorist attack on America in the last three deceades except for Oklahoma City.

This is something that has been covered up, but there is a John Doe #3 who was seen with Timothy McVeigh, and that John Doe #3 has been identified as a former Iraqi guard to Saddam Hussein.
There is no way that either Terry Nicol or McVeigh could have created that car bomb. The bomb was the work of that third person.

I also watched an episode of Nova (PBS) called “Why the Towers Fell.” It made the point that it would have taken a civil engineer to come up with the location where McVeigh parked his explosive-laden truck (it was right in front of the only load-bearing joists in the Murrah building). The Islamic extremist who was involved in the first World Trade Center bombing was a civil engineer. ‘Nuff said.

I hate the fact that the NYT decided that this is something they should report on. thereby putting many in harms way. Would they have preferred the facility be bombed rather than infect it with a virus? What a shame the “worm” wasn’t used on the NYT computers. I think the Times is almost as sinister and dangerous as Iran’s Nuclear activities.
I doubt there will be a movie anytime soon on this operation.
