Something that should be sent on a postcard to every Polish person in America
People who identify as ethnically “Polish” seem to be, largely, Democrat voters.
Today we had an idea for a postcard that should be sent to all of them. It should also be made into posters that can be hung up in ethnically Polish neighborhoods, like those found here in Chicago.
We got the idea from this wonderful image Chrissy the Hyphenated created to show the lengths the White House went to in humiliating the Dalai Lama by throwing him out a side door, after forcing him to take a circuitous route, instead of allowing him to leave by a door that was not stacked high with garbage:

Here’s an image we would love to see made into a postcard to send to ethnic-Polish-identifying Americans:
* a map of how far it is between the White House and the Polish Embassy on 16th street in Washington, DC
* a map of the distance between the White House and the nearest ethnic Polish church in Washington, DC
* a map of the route Obama took from the White House to whatever golf course he chose to spend the day at while the Polish president’s funeral was taking place
Obama’s excuse for not attending the Polish president’s funeral was that “the air was too dusty to fly”.
He claimed Iceland’s volcanic eruption made it impossible for Air Force One, the most sophisticated plane in the world, capable of surviving a direct nuclear blast, was unable to make it across the Atlantic because of dust…so he refused to go to the Polish president’s funeral.
He also refused to attend a memorial service at the Polish Embassy in Washington.
He further refused to find an ethnic Polish church in DC and attend a mass there in remembrance of the Polish president, his first lady, and all his military advisors and staff killed in that horrific plane crash.
Obama played golf instead.
Capturing this in a graphic of some kind, and making it into a postcard, would be a great way to make sure the Polish community in America does not forget this insult to their nation.

Yes, he should have gone to Queen of Poland on the day of Poland, even though he “couldn’t” get to Poland. Trust me, he wasn’t missed, but it is embarrassing for the US.
What is Queen of Poland?
For Poles, the Black Madonna of Czestochowa is far more than an object of Roman Catholic reverence. It is a source of historical continuity, a cause and remembrance of national liberation from foreign enemies, and a fount of miracles. The 4-ft. by 2½-ft. gilt-and-tempera dark-hued portrait of the Virgin Mary and Christ child is laden with gems and silver. By legend, the painting is attributed to St. Luke the Evangelist, and was executed on a table top from the house of Mary, Joseph and Jesus in Nazareth. It origins are unknown, but it may date as far back as 6th century Greece or Byzantium. The painting surfaced in Poland in 1382 at the recently founded Jasna Gora (Mountain of Light) monastery, a fortress-like institution located in Czestochowa, about 140 miles south of Warsaw.
The Madonna’s status as an emblem of Polish nationalism dates from Sweden’s invasion of the country in 1655. For 40 days, as the Swedes surrounded the monastery, the monks prayed to the Virgin for deliverance. The siege failed, and the Poles subsequently drove the Swedes out of the country. In gratitude, the reigning Polish monarch, Jan Kazimierz, dedicated his throne and the country to “the Virgin Mary, Queen of Poland.” In 1711 the people of Warsaw walked to Czestochowa to thank the Virgin for saving the city from the bubonic plague. Ever since, the pilgrimage has been an annual rite.

Thanks, Marie. I grew up Roman Catholic but was not around Polish Catholics until well into my adult years. I remember helping a lady who was Polish Catholic who had a print of the Black Madonna and I think I asked her about it but she did not have all the info. that you posted. Fascinating!
Thanks Marie for enlightening those who may not be aware of the importance of Black Madonna to the Polish peoples. I responded earlier but I it did not appear? Just wanted you to know I agree on how absolutely deplorable Obama’s behavior is and how badly it reflects on us. Maybe we could send an apology to Poland or take out an ad in the major papers apologizing for the disrespect of the Dumb One. I live very close to LaSalle/Peru and Streator Il which all have a hugs Polish American community. St. Val’s on Peru a polish catholic congregation has Black Madonna front and center in the church. She has never failed to answer and comfort. Thank you again for bringing this to attention here at Hillbuzz.
Our Lady Queen of Poland is “the” Polish church in the DC area. It’s located in Silver Spring, MD. It’s where the Studmuffin often goes to worship with the kids. It’s also the church where most of the Polish embassy staff worship.
The Studmuffin and kinder went to the Memorial service for the Katyn massacre the Sunday just after Kaczynski was killed; I filed a report on HB.

Well, its embarassing as hell to me. I’m ashamed of his conduct, and you better believe it reflects poorly on our Nation and not just him.
I thought he wanted to change our standing around the world. Well, he sure did, our allies are fast becoming our enemies and our enemies, allies. He is turning this country upside down. Rev Wright did warn us from the pulpit at the National Press Club when he said, “Change is coming.”
And don’t forget the major “F.U.!” Obama gave Poland when he yanked the anti-missile bases away from them!
He needs Russia more than he needs Poland, which means that he’s going to embarass himself. That’s because Russia needs Iran and China more than they need the US.
Expect more “FU!s” to previously devoted friends, to be dumped in favour of people who will never support the US. Obama has already ticked off the Israelis and the Indians.
Why does he need Russia more than Poland? Russia hasn’t sent any soldiers to fight alongside ours in Afghanistan and Iraq like Poland has.
It’s absolutely shameful and embarassing, this POS that occupies the White House.
He needs Russia in order for any sanctions against Iran to work. They’ll never side with the US, mainly because if Iran is weakened by sanctions, it may trade with the West to give up some nuclear capabilities in return for being allowed to sell natural gas to the West. That would endanger the Russian monopoly and finish off their terrible economy. Plus there’s the fact that the Russians just don’t like the West. It has nothing to do with loyalty or troops. It’s because Obama has no real power and is flailing around.
Well if they’ll never side with us in the sanctions, why pander to them? It’s a lost cause. He needs to galvanize support worldwide for sanctions. Let Russia be marginalized with Iran.
Don’t know where he played golf, but the Polish Embassy is two turns and 1.93 miles from the White House.
He could have visited either the Embassy or a Polish church in less than an hour. But apparently he couldn’t or wouldn’t change his tee time.
Our Lady Queen of Poland Catholic Church, in Silver Springs MD, is the parish that Lech Walesa visited when he came to DC. It’s only 9 miles from the White House, almost due north. I’d think it’d be a 15 minute drive since the Secret Service clears the roads for him.

I thought O’s behavior on this was especially small-minded. It’s a pattern with him. If it’s an ally he’ll be disrespectful.
