She just wants to be Sarah Palin.

Posted on February 11, 2011 by Bridget // 2012 Presidential Campaign, American Artemis, Hillbuzz, Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin wannabe at CPAC

Ok…so…she does look like Governor Palin but we all know that the Governor was not at CPAC.  This Sarah Palin impersonator stunned crowds at the CPAC convention today in Washington and fooled a lot of people.  Apparently, she even gave interviews.  I know it probably wasn’t done maliciously but something about this really gets my hackles up.  It’s one thing if the liberal media (redundancy alert) mocks Governor Palin….we expect that… but someone at CPAC? Cocktail Party hit job?  I’m not saying this lady was mocking the Governor (because I don’t really know) but this is just wrong.

There is only ONE Sarah Palin.

Period.

That just reminds me of the cosplayers (people who dress up in costume as specific character) at most major conventions (comic, anime, etc) I am not surprised that someone as iconic as Sarah has some cosplayers of her own!

This impersonator , I think, was a plant to re-enforce the idea that Governor Palin is an idiot, because that is the way this woman presented herself. Even the way she spoke to the people gathered around her, purposely was intended to push them away. This was a very disturbing breech in CPAC’s plans, and it was meant to further smear Gov. Palin to make her seem unelectable.

Really? As a convention-goer who has seen a lot of dress-up/cosplay of favorite characters, so I see it as flattery. I know a lot of conservatives aren’t really familiar with that culture but a lot of us younger ones are and dressing up in costume isn’t really that unusual. I’m giving this one the benefit if the doubt until I hear some of the interviews… is it actually “in character” or is it” I can see Russia from my house?”

Exactly. I think it’s all in good fun! It’s unfortunate that some people were fooled, but other than that I think it’s a tribute to Sarah that people want to be her.

The problem, and the question that everyone should be asking, is why aren’t they also doing it for Romney and the rest of the dwarves…

When they do that, then “it’s all in good fun” and we can give them the benefit of the doubt. Until then. Uh, no.

Like Rick Santorum’s not so subtle jab at Sarah’s character the other day, when he was asked why she wasn’t accepting the speaking invitation. He implied that she had other things to do that had to do with money or that she needed to stay home with her children. Ricky is running for President and is already sticking knifes in peoples backs. I DON’T TRUST HIM. I’ll bet if she doesn’t run he’ll be more than happy to have her campaign for him.

What woman WOULDN’T want to be Sarah? :) I think the whole thing is kind of funny, and she looks pretty darn close to Sarah, unlike Tina Fey who the libs like to delude themselves into thinking looks *just* like her. Other than brown hair, I don’t have much in common with Sarah looks wise, but I had fun dressing up as her for Halloween, and I just recently ordered Sarah Palin glasses. She is an absolutely beautiful woman in all senses of the word.

I knew right away that it wasn’t Sarah. I watched the PJTV interview, and she didn’t say anything that would embarass Sarah, I don’t think. I did get a queasy stomach, however.

But then, I always go back to the tried and true, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”. Think about it. It’s usually true.

I thought it was a subtle mocking. It was meant to remind people of the, “I can see Russia from my porch,” SNL comment that many think was said personally by Sarah. The impersonator acted dumb.

CPAC Brackets: Electable 8 for GOP Presidential Candidates
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/02/11/cpac-brackets-electable-…/

Welcome to the 2012 GOP presidential brackets. The following polls contain the eight candidates that you chose from a field of 16 to advance to the quarter-finals. Now, it’s your turn to decide who should move forward to the semi-finals.

Pick your top two contestants from both divisions. The finalists will be revealed at 12 p.m. ET Saturday. Then you can decide your winner up until 5 p.m. ET Saturday. Then we’ll see how closely you matched the CPAC straw poll.

Ron Paul will be created out again if he runs as he did last time. It’s funny how somehow their was only one vote in some couties and states. They hid the real numbers and cheated Ron Palu.Ron Paul did nothing to stand uo for his self.
    Now Palin would..you bet’Ch

I had just falling over heel for her.I love her views and her love for the people and America, I say Sarah 2012

She was with the Bill Clinton and the Barack Obama (the one that was on Huckabee)impersonators. Limo and all.
At the end of the clip some man said it was a democratic get together. Not sure how long ago. She referenced her tv show and some other current things.
I didn’t see anything that was bashing Palin. More like Leno or Conan Obrien when they do standup. I laughed several times.

I was there and some people really thought it was her. They screamed and ran up to her, and were disappointed that it was not the real deal. Their comments were that if it was the real one, there would be more security. What was interesting was that military school cadets were most interested in having pictures with her. I think military people know which candidate appreciates them.

If this is the same one (and I think it is) this gal was at the Concord NH Tea Party Express Rally last fall, and she was less than cordial to those around her and generally acting unlike Sarah Palin would. (I was on the tour and met Gov. Palin who was gracious, sincere and generous with her time). I found this Palin wanna-be to be off-putting, and definitely NOT a good representation of Gov. Palin. If anyone there thought it was Sarah, they would have come away with a negative impression. This gal is attracted to the spotlight like a moth to a flame. And a lousy imitation of Gov. Palin. Parasite is the word that comes to mind.
