The Hillbuzz community is awe-inspiring. Recently, when Kevin asked for help with his friend Cassie, Hillbuzz readers sent her (and Kevin) prayers and advice from all over the world. And Kevin is convinced that those prayers have saved Cassie’s life–and probably others, too.
As one of the team who has been working to launch Hillbuzz 3.0, I’d like to again come to the Hillbuzz community and ask you for prayers and support.
Though Kevin couldn’t be more excited about taking Hillbuzz to the next level, this whole process has been pretty exhausting and stressful for him. He’s also a little overwhelmed with the complexity of the new site (it’s waaaaay complicated behind the scenes, and Kevin’s still figuring his way around.)
When Kevin launched Hillbuzz, he had no idea that he would eventually have hundreds of thousands of readers or thousands of posts. So he didn’t make much effort to organize Hillbuzz content…so it was impossible to find things on the old site.
Part of the site migration process has involved re-reading, tagging and categorizing every single one of the 7,700+ posts in an effort to organize the vast universe of content Kevin has created.
Unfortunately for Kevin, that means re-living one of the most difficult times of his life, when he was “outed” as the owner and editor of Hillbuzz and personally attacked by Leftist trolls to the extent that he became virtually unemployable.
When he launched Hillbuzz in 2008, it was simply meant to be a way to connect a group of Hillary Clinton campaign volunteers in the Chicago area. But the blend of snarky humor, astute political analysis, patriotism and intellectual honesty proved irresistible, and soon, both Hillbuzz and Kevin had attracted a following.
Dozens of daily readers became hundreds; hundreds became thousands, and on some days, over a hundred thousand. And some of those readers turned out to be big-name conservatives like Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Malkin.
And they weren’t the only ones taking note of this site’s growing influence. Eventually, Kevin and the Hillbuzz Boyz became enough of a threat to the Leftist establishment that they became the target of a vicious and unrelenting smear campaign that continues, in one form or another, to this day.
Until January of 2010, Kevin wrote Hillbuzz anonymously, and was able to have a pretty good life in Chicago’s gay (and Democrat) Boystown neighborhood. But after his privacy was violated by Leftist operatives, his conservative beliefs and reawakening spirituality made him something of an outcast in his community.
The past couple of months have been a challenge for Kevin as he has organized the Hillbuzz archives, and been reminded of the ferocity of last year’s Leftist troll attacks.
So, as one of Kevin’s friends and readers, I’d like to ask my fellow readers for a favor. Please take a minute to send Kevin a virtual hug in the comments section–or better yet–say a prayer for him. Let him know what Hillbuzz means to you. Let him know that the attacks he has endured have been worth it. Or just post something that makes you smile or gives you hope. Kevin will be able to come back to this thread and feel your positive energy whenever he needs a boost.
Kevin truly believes in the power of prayer, and I’m sure that it makes a difference.

Kevin, how can I begin to thank you for putting together one of the most readable, honest, informative political blogs on the internet? You have truly created a community here – not a small accomplishment! I read other sites maybe once a day, but Hillbuzz is a site I can't stay away from, and I come back over and over throughout my day. I know it must take an extraordinary amount of work on your part, not just keeping the content fresh and up-to-the-minute but also weeding out the nasty trolls, spam, advertising, etc., that are such a distraction on other sites.
It says a lot (and not in a good way) about the left that keeping this site going has cost you so much, not just in terms of your time and money, but in terms of your LIFE! While the conservatives I know are perfectly capable of agreeing to disagree with liberals, the liberals instead want to DESTROY those who disagree with them. Especially someone like you who used to be on their side, but then refused to drink the Obama kool-aid.
Kevin (and ALL the Hillbuzz team), please know that we love you, we pray for you, and we wish you MUCH success in the future. I'm actually looking forward to 2012 knowing that I have a place like Hillbuzz to go to for information and community.
And BTW, I can tell that Rush Limbaugh reads you, because I hear more and more Hillbuzz info when I listen to his show! I think it says a LOT about how successful you're getting that, while Rush may not quote you directly, he obviously uses Hillbuzz in his show prep now. And YOU appear to have the information BEFORE he does!

I've been a lurker for the last several months. . .enjoying Kevin's posts (and Bridget's too, but Kevin is special). I stumbled upon hillbuzz during the 2008 campaign after Hillary lost the nomination. I admit I wasn't a Hillary fan but I remember the post you wrote shortly after Obama won the election in which
you stated an apology to George Bush and I thought to myself , what a refreshing and honest person you were to do that.

Kevin, I found you in September of 2008, when you were telling people not to be Eeyores. I've checked this blog every day since then. You impress me with your humor, your ability to cut right to the main point, and your willingness to share your inner self with all of us. Kevin, this site is AWESOME! You should be so proud of all of your hard work and how amazingly popular it has become. It's always tough reliving the past, but it should also give you an amazing sense of accomplishment–you had some pretty bad crap thrown at you, and you prevailed. Thriving in spite of it all is the worst kind of punishment you can hand to those nasty liberals who live to tear others down. That's why they hate Sarah Palin so much.
I run a couple websites of my own, so I can also relate to how you feel after being tethered to the computer for so long, stressing about things that aren't working right, etc. It's tough to really step back and enjoy what you've done when you've been staring at it for so long. I hope you are able to get out and enjoy the nice spring weather, go out to eat something yummy, see a movie or something. Just give yourself a little breather, pamper yourself, and then dive back in. This site is going to generate revenue for you. This site is going to be even more popular due to your hard work.

Their ugliness, their hypocrisy, their outright indecency simply firm the resolve of the strong to crush them underfoot. You're a strong person Kevin, I know you can keep going. Kevin, you should not have to endure attacks. There are a lot of people with whom I do not agree. I am sure there are a lot of people who don't necessarily like my prioriities. That is okay with me. We can all agree that disagreeing does not mean "hate" or that people should receive attacks. I hope that get the rest and relaxation that you need. 2012 is coming, and we will need you. Kevin, I am a 71 year old conservative male and was with my wife in Galveston while she attended the Texas State Republican Women's Convention in November of 2009. A friend emailed me a link to your site in which you apologized to George and Laura Bush for all the negative things you had thought and said about them over the years. My first thought was, "Wow even the Democrats are beginning to see through Obama" and as the song says, "You had me from hello".

I LOVE Hillbuzz!!! I found you during the 2008 campaign, and I have never stopped checking in – I followed Hillbuzz as a Hillary Clinton supporter. As you went, I went – I could no longer support a Democratic party that resorted to dirty tricks all in the name of Obama –
Anyway, I am not making a political statement today – I just want to let you know you are appreciated!!! fyi – my husband loves Hillbuzz, too. Thank you for all of your hardships in bringing sanity to the current bizarre climate in this country.

I've absolutely loved your blog and the Hillbuzz community since the day I first stumbled across it and got a good laugh out of a gross pic of Teddy Kennedy in his swimsuit juxtaposed next to Hottie McAwesome's centerfold. At that point in time, it was absolutely fantastic for me because I was stuck home a lot with my kids' medical issues. So, it was a complete sanity saver for me to be able to connect with other like-minded folks, to learn a LOT about the way some of the political games are played, to get a great chuckle on a crummy day, to learn a little about your local community & things going on in your life, to keep informed, to see things happening all over the country that I would otherwise not know about, and to get motivated to make a difference myself. You are one of the most entertaining writers and Hillbuzz is a great community of folks. I'm very grateful to have found you and all the Buzzers. Shine on!
You are a hero, Kevin! I couldn't say it better than everyone else. Even though I can't quite understand the Sarah Palin fascination (and I do think more highly of Hillary than most Republicans my age), the patriotism and thoughtful reflection you put out there on a daily basis is making a difference – making people think for a change.

Your honest, logical, heartfelt dialog with me and all the people who found their way to your site was just the right ray of light I needed ( and I suppose many others) to see that I needed to stop worrying and start doing.
