SCARY THOUGHT: Did “Project Orca” Cost Romney the Election by Diverting Resources to Failing Computer Program?

Posted on November 9, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Breaking News, Featured Content

One of the big differences between Democrats and Republicans is that when Republicans lose an election, the knives come out and they eat their own.  We’ll be seeing this for the next few years — much like we did after the McCain campaign — with Cocktail Party GOP operatives lashing out at various members of the Romney staff, blaming them for the loss in order to elevate themselves and get exposure for their own careers on tee-vee.  Steve Schmidt, McCain’s campaign manager, is a classic example of this.  He jumps at every opportunity to badmouth Republicans and would appear on MSNBC every day to do so, if they had him.

Today, Breitbart.com’s running a shocking article about “Project Orca”, which was billed as the most technologically advanced Republican GOTV effort ever.  Democrats were genuinely terrified of this project, and it was part of the reason that it seemed Mitt Romney would win this election in a big way.  If you believed that Americans were eager to defeat Obama to prevent Obamacare from taking effect and that the Romney guys had an advanced tool to turn out the vote, then it was hard to see how Romney would lose.

We don’t know the name (or the motives) of the “Romney insider” who’s telling Breitbart that Project Orca was technologically flawed and crashed on election day, but anecdotal reports throughout the day do show that people had trouble using the system, activating their pin numbers, etc.  The “Romney insider” could be telling the truth when he says that Orca diverted 40,000 Romney volunteers to a failing computer program instead of having them do traditional GOTV efforts…or this guy could be positioning himself to be the next Steve Schmidt by pushing a story like this just to sink knives into the Romney campaign.  We won’t know the reality for a while.

I’m always suspicious of campaign operatives in Republican ranks because I’d think they wouldn’t reveal something like this and give Democrats the satisfaction of knowing Project Orca flopped (if that’s what happened).  It’s like during the Cold War…the US and the Soviets never told each other what really happened when some new vehicle or weapons system failed.

So why come out and reveal what happened with Project Orca so that Democrats can benefit from it?  That seems strange.  Unless, of course, the guy doing this wants to become the next Steve Schmidt and land a seat on the talk show circuit revealing more and more about the Romney campaign’s failures.

I’m shocked to read this, though, because the big selling point about having Romney be the nominee was that he’d been working on his campaign for over 6 years and he had the best and the brightest that money could buy in terms of loyal advisors and brash young turks who would do things with GOTV that no Republican had ever succeeded in doing before.

Romney and his senior staff were legitimately shellshocked on Election Day as the first set of polls started to close, because they really thought they were winning until vote totals started coming in.  Obama and his supporters seemed resigned to losing in the weeks before election day…and all throughout November 6th the talking heads on MSNBC kept talking about “voter suppression” being the only explanation for Obama’s loss, really setting the stage to push that narrative when Romney won.  Everything pointed to a Romney win that never came.

If people really were counting on Project Orca to deliver the turnouts needed — and everyone assumed it would work — then maybe it’s failure is part of why Democrats ended up with the (D+7) electorate they needed to win Obama a second term.

It’s still hard to believe we really do need to suffer through four more years of Leftist control of this country…but in those four years I hope we can finally break the ugly cycle where Democrats constantly have a vaunted “turnout advantage”.  Surely there is something that can be done in Republican ranks between now and 2016 to avoid another “Project Orca” failure or to allow Democrats to keep having a better “GOTV ground game”.

It’s mind-numbing and soul-killing that the Romney guys would have failed in this, because the Romney guys were supposed to be better at this stuff than anyone (better than Democrats at it, even).

I am not normally a conspiracy theorist but something smells wrong.
I read that “Orca” piece on Breitbart and have listened w/ disgust at all the “Why Romney failed” articles and talk heads.
All this talk does not remove the images in my mind of half empty Obama rallies and the overflow, enthusiasm that Romney was receiving.
I am not convinced that Obama won. Obviously he appears to have won but that is a different kettle of fish. I do know that in EVERY state requiring voter ID, Romney won. That is curious to me. I do believe that many people not legally allowed to vote, voted and that military voting was suppressed.
Last night I saw this video of a man, under oath in Ohio, explaining how source code could easily be written for voting machines that would change the vote tallys and even be programmed to destroy itself at a certain time leaving no trace so that it could never be found after that time.
I don’t know enough about the subject to hazard a guess about smart phones but if a program can be created, it can be tampered with. Here is the video from Ohio. I remain suspicious.

I’ve been seeing it said repeatedly that “in EVERY state requiring voter ID, Romney won”.

Not meaning to be a PITA, but if this is true, how can one explain that I am in South FL and have voted in every election since I arrived here in 1984, and I’ve been asked to show my driver’s license every time. Is it because I’m white? Or is the above information inaccurate? Or what? I’d just like to figure this out…

I was just on AOL, and there was a front page story how a “liberal pundit” (they mean leftist pundit) says Romney could have “easily won.” I didn’t click on it- there crap is all the same.

Then there’s the fact that Obama won close to 100% of the vote in Philadelpha. Granted, Philly is a deep blue city- but close to 100%?! Not even third parties?

Then there’s Obama’s good margins of victory in WI and PA. Obviously he was worried about those two states- him and surrogates went to both states in the closing days, so obviously there internal polls were showing tight races in both.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist either, and I usually think they’re BS. But with the enthusiasm gap and everything, things don’t add up.

Orca, voter ID all factors that contributed to the loss. The biggest factor-the media, and a populace poorly educated in government and politics, with little to no interest in hearing the facts or doing the work necessary to be an informed voter(low information voters). Things I heard: 1)’I'm not voting; it’s too complicated, there’s too much to learn.’ 2) ‘I don’t like Obama, and I won’t vote for him but I’m not voting for Romney.’(ie there’s no difference between the two) 3) If you’re a woman, you wouldn’t vote for Romney.’ And look at all the college kids who never heared of Benghazi.
The connection between these people is that they only get their news from the mainstream media.
How do we clean up the media? Do we boycott all their sponsers? I’m being serious. Having alternate sources of information on the internet, like blogs, isn’t enough. The msm we have is like living with Pravda, or news in North Korea. And people believe it.

      MY WIFE’S LOVER

My wife is having an affair with a government executive. His role is to manage a project whose progress is seen worldwide as a demonstration of American leadership. (This might seem hyperbolic, but it is not an exaggeration.) I have met with him on several occasions, and he has been gracious. (I doubt if he is aware of my knowledge.) I have watched the affair intensify over the last year, and I have also benefited from his generosity. He is engaged in work that I am passionate about and is absolutely the right person for the job. I strongly feel that exposing the affair will create a major distraction that would adversely impact the success of an important effort. My issue: Should I acknowledge this affair and finally force closure? Should I suffer in silence for the next year or two for a project I feel must succeed? Should I be “true to my heart” and walk away from the entire miserable situation and put the episode behind me? NAME WITHHELD

Don’t expose the affair in any high-profile way. It would be different if this man’s project was promoting some (contextually hypocritical) family-values platform, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. The only motive for exposing the relationship would be to humiliate him and your wife, and that’s never a good reason for doing anything. This is between you and your spouse. You should tell her you want to separate, just as you would if she were sleeping with the mailman. The idea of “suffering in silence” for the good of the project is illogical. How would the quiet divorce of this man’s mistress hurt an international leadership initiative? He’d probably be relieved.

The fact that you’re willing to accept your wife’s infidelity for some greater political good is beyond honorable. In fact, it’s so over-the-top honorable that I’m not sure I believe your motives are real. Part of me wonders why you’re even posing this question, particularly in a column that is printed in The New York Times.

Your dilemma is intriguing, but I don’t see how it’s ambiguous. Your wife is having an affair with a person you happen to respect. Why would that last detail change the way you respond to her cheating? Do you admire this man so much that you haven’t asked your wife why she keeps having sex with him? I halfway suspect you’re writing this letter because you want specific people to read this column and deduce who is involved and what’s really going on behind closed doors (without actually addressing the conflict in person). That’s not ethical, either.

What I do not understand is this: why in the world would so many GOP voters need to be “turned out” to vote? I mean, golly gee whillikers! How could anyone with a sentient IQ not know to go out and vote on November 6? Who needs a complex system — whether computer driven or phone-bank driven to tell them that — “yep! — today’s the day, ya numbskull! Get out there and vote!”? No one has ever told me when to vote, where to vote, or simply to vote. When I was 18, I registered myself to vote, and walked down to my polling place on the day, and voted! Now, please don’t take this the wrong way, former Dems who are now Hillbuzzing GOPers or Independents, but I always thought that GOP voters were more self-determined and self-actualizing than Dem ones. And in an election like this one — where the future of the Republic was at stake!! — what GOP voter is sitting at home, picking his nose, waiting to be gotten out to vote?? Or maybe there is a nuance to “getting out the vote” that somehow means more than just getting people to vote? Please advise, if so. I’ve never been a campaign insider; just a voter who has always, always, always voted without ever having been “gotten out.”

This is horribly frustrating, indeed. We had this one, people. And then, suddenly, we didn’t.

I agree with you, I was one of the many “broken glass voters” meaning I would crawl over glass to get to the polls. I don’t think the loss can be blamed on this, there are more stories coming out of people who sat out the election, some were conservatives who were frustrated with the GOP string of moderate candidates, others libertarians who refused to vote for R/R some voted for Gary Johnson, they wanted to teach the GOP a lesson. What I haven’t seen yet is the breakdown of the 3M by state, it’s one thing to vote for Gary Johnson if you are in CA or NY but if in a battleground state, I just don’t get it given what was at stake.

No, if the legal hotline was not accessable because of the ORCA failure and volunteers were calling in to report problems, then that is a major problem but Team Romney has been silent on the issue. ORCA was a failure in my county but we had a backup plan with the old strike list method.

I find it stunning to rollout something this big without proper beta testing, Ace also had a post on this, central planning does not work!

I can’t stand the people who think they’re going to “teach the GOP a lesson” by setting out.

Do they not understand that we have something called primaries, in which they have an opportunity to cast a vote for the kind of candidate they want? (Assuming that such a candidate has chosen to run and been able to raise funding.)

Do they not understand that the message being taken from the election is: “Voters liked the far-left candidate more than the moderately conservative one.” Consequently, GOP leaders are talking about the supposed need to “reach out” more aggressively to independents and moderate Dems by moving away from conservatism.

The only way to “send a message” that you want conservative government is to vote for the most conservative option on the ballot (with a chance of winning) — or at least vote to stop the leftist from winning and messing up our country and our lives.

GOP voters do not need to be told to go and vote. There may be a problem with this system, but it is not why Romney lost. GOP voters did get out. As did Indy’s and Dems that were for Romney. The results are wrong and that’s all there is to it.

There exist groups of very devout religious people who will not vote for a candidate who openly advocates what they regard as sin. These people don’t support the candidate who is not a social conservative. I suspect that many people did not get over the Romneycare and his ‘etch-a-sketch’ on pro-life issues.

The majority of people in this post-Christian era don’t know who or where these people are, but I do. Some even have offices in Washington DC.

I was pragmatic enough to be willing to vote “no-bama” for a slowing of the social destruction.

The republicans clearly have been telling the social conservatives to stay home, as we are seen as an embarrassment to them. Rather than stay home, I will be “independent” and continue to vote whenever I can.

Pay attention to your state and local candidates and electable judges, people.

To the leftists, “getting out the vote” means taking a van out and rounding up groups of likely Democrat voters or incompetent people (I apologize for the redundancy), physically taking them to the polling place, and leading them by the hand if necessary, to make sure their Democrat votes get cast. Rinse and repeat the same process, as many times as possible, during the early voting and election day.

Unfortunately, we have nothing in our strategic arsenal that compares to this.

My thought is HACKING. It can be subtle. They should have had a backup plan. Computers are complex systems, and the more complex the system the susceptible they are to problem because those problems tend to domino.

As an ORCA worker on election day, here are my thoughts.
At first, it looked exciting. But I couldn’t access the training conference calls that were held starting in September… and I tried.

The training videos were too brief- like 5 minutes each, and they weren’t that in depth.

My biggest gripes, however, are that they sent my assignment and voter lists the Sunday before, and the certification as a poll observer arrived on MONDAY. For a lot of people, that’s probably too late- not to mention that the campaign’s emails reminded people to bring a folding chair often enough, but not the certification.

The smartphone app looked impressive in the description, but I wasn’t able to access it until Election Day- too late to allow me to learn how to navigate it. Biggest thing, however- as a poll observer, you sit where the workers assign you. And I sat too far away to hear every name called, or to read the names when voters presented their IDs (even that’s too personal for an observer)!. So, I rarely could check off voters who voted.

I was supposed to have been a worker with ORCA, but my husband was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer and his treatment planning meeting with the surgeon was postponed due to Sandy, and they rescheduled it on election day. I tried continually via the email given in the numerous messages as the point of contact. I was trying to find out if I could work a partial day after my husband;s appointment (which turned out to take way longer than we expected anyway). No one answered any of my emails, even when I tagged the subject line “URGENT – PLEASE RESPOND!” Then when I called in to the final “training call” it said that there would be a question and answer period at the end, but I listened to it and it was only a 2-3 minute pep talk that was 100% recorded; no live person at all. At that point, I confess, I began to get worried. I was quite disappointed at getting no response whatsoever. Then they left me a message at the wrong phone number, one I hardly use. I don’t have any idea where they got it.

I read Ace of Spades and saw indications of this well before the election. People were trying to volunteer to do GOTV and nobody would get back to them. Other commenters suggested that maybe they had enough volunteers already and people let it go.

Then yesterday John E. posted about “The Unmitigated Disaster Known as Project ORCA.”
    http://minx.cc/?post=334783

He outlined one mistake after another, both in the lead-in and especially on election day itself. The other commenters backed him up and added anecdotes of their own. A massive cluster. It looks like the three million missing Romney voters were waiting on phone calls and rings of the doorbell that never happened, thanks to ORCA.

I have seen the chutzpah of programmers in my own life. Generally I can fire the idiot companies that employ them and allow them to keep on blaming other endusers for their mistakes. Not possible when they are in charge of GOTV for an entire campaign. Sad, and perhaps fatal for the future of our country.

I’m not ready to buy into this. I’m waiting for the dust to settle before I give over to any particular theory of why Romney lost. I do find myself reluctantly inching toward “voter fraud,” however. I don’t like to say voter fraud out loud because it makes me feel like a sore loser. But I did see this and it sounds so impossible I am more willing to entertain voter fraud as the explanation:

“In total, there are 21 districts in Cleveland where Mr. Romney received precisely 0 votes. In 23 districts, he received precisely 1 vote. And naturally, in one of the districts where Obama won 100% of the vote, there was 100% turnout. What a coincidence!”

It was a really close election and surely stuff went wrong on the Obama side too, but you never hear those stories of the candidate who “won”.

      I attribute the results to:
      1) Bill Clinton
      2) Todd Akin and the other House Candidate

Otherwise even with voter fraud included Romney would have won it.

Interesting you bring up Todd Akin and Mourdock from Indiana (or whatever his name is) the two guys who got stuck in the abortion “gotcha” questions. The night of the election I was talking to my elderly father. He said he voted for Romney, but was disturbed by the things Romney had said about abortion. When I asked him what he thought Romney said, he quoted to Akin and Mourdock situations. I gently explained what really happened, what the two candidates really said, and that Romney had nothing to do with it. My dad sits in front of the TV all day long, and he has CNN on all day long. From watching CNN he absolutely believed that ROMNEY said those things, because that is how they were presented on CNN.

I also heard that some 40% of people in exit polls said that Hurricane Sandy and Obama’s response to the hurricane were deciding factors in their vote. SERIOUSLY????? You gotta be kidding me! But we live in a soundbite world and most people don’t think beyond something they think they heard on CNN or NBC and that’s what matters to them.

My 30-year-old coworker who eagerly re-elected Obama asked me (41) and my 50-year-old coworker who also voted Obama if we thought Obama would be able to pass healthcare in his second term.

Me (who quietly voted Romney) and my 50-year-old coworker both informed our coworker healthcare had already passed in his first term, and Obama let the lobbyists much it all up.

I wish we could raise the voting age to 30.

The republican party violated Reagan’s 11th commandment, and dumped Akin altogether. They also dumped Mourdock.
I therefore left the Republican party. I was polled twice after that, and was therefore counted as “independent”, as Tea Party is thought to be a mirage by many pollsters.
It is likely that the expanding independent group, still willing to vote for romney ONLY to get obama out, was made up of people like me who are no longer republican, and will never give another dime to the party as long as we live.
The republicans might notice this shrinkage of their ranks if they do some post election polling.
Essentially the social leftist republicans (who don’t understand that social and economic policy strongly affect each other) have just swapped out our freedom for their abortions and (failed) social engineering.

Somehow I got to the Think Progress website Friday afternoon. They were claiming the GOP is getting ready to steal 2016, and how Ohio Sec. State Husted tried to steal Ohio by limiting early voting (he did try to limit it- by cutting it short TWO DAYS- but the OH SC overruled him).

Chicago politicians know how to rig elections… they’ve been doing it since forever. If there’s more evidence brought to light, I hope someone- don’t care how partisan- calls for investigations. I remember the Dems in the House made a show of questioning Ohio’s electoral votes after the 2004 election. The GOP won’t though- guarantee.

Here’s the “fun fact” of the day reported in several spots on the internet: Obama won NO states that required photo ID to vote. In other words, the loss was not the Romney campaign’s fault, or anything they did or didn’t do, but the corrupt election system we now have in place. I, too, suspect the motives of the Romney insider for leaking info on “Project Orca.”

I have heard numerous complaints like going though the training sessions and never getting called or their PINs didn’t work. Some people are blaming denial of service attacks.

Let’s put it this way 40,000 people were tied down and helpless when they could have been using traditional methods to GOTV. I would really like to know who was in charge of it and were they just inept or working against us.

PINs not working and DNS attacks sounds like sabotage.

Knowing how easy is to hijack or screw a program leads me to a question: was the whole ORCA debacle an internal sabotage?

The second question, related to the first one is how come the historically poorly performing socialist polling companies, PPP, DailyKos, Nate Silver were the most “on the money” polls this time?

Come and think of this: the most partisan polls were right about the D+7/D+8 outcome, ,AFTER a failed 4 years term for this president, when the economy is in the tiolet, people unemployed, the repubics revved up like there is no tomorrow, and so forth?

How does that sound to you?

The number of voters in Florida and some parts of CO was higher than the number of registered voters.

    Que pasa, amigos?

I participated in Wood County Ohio’s Project ORCA. I don’t believe this…saw it over at Breitbart. There were things that went wrong but in general it was a good idea. There were two purposes for ORCA 1) record the persons who were showing up 2) be a poll watcher. I went to a meeting, watched videos and participated in 2 phone calls.

The app was not available until election day, something they didn’t tell you. But my cellular iPad worked very well with occasional hiccups in recording turnout. The app would not even load on the iPhone or on the other guy’s Android who showed up at 1:00.

They told you quite clearly to vote in advance, which I did. This is, IMHO, grasping at straws. It was a good idea that didn’t work. States will take up the banner of doing this eventually anyway.

But no. It didn’t influence. The 37000 people who participated in ORCA are broken glass voters.

I have had Computer Programming experience in my past.

Having read the article and knowing how things go when designing, coding, testing and implementing software, I can tell you as sure as heck that HUMAN ERROR is always, ALWAYS the cause for software to go kaput.

Error in the design, error in the coding, error in the testing, error in the implementation. All of it, every little bit of it, is in hands of the writer(s) of the code. Technology is as good as the people who make it, and as good as the people who write the code for it. If the iPhone or the iPad had all the coding errors ORCA had, it would have been out of the market faster than Steve Jobs’ ghost would have come back and bit the coders in the nuts.

I dare to say that the programmers of ORCA either didn’t know what they were doing for being inexperienced or incompetent (unlikely for a campaign operation willing to pay through the nose for the technology)…

Or… (which I believe is more likely), the ORCA programmers actually DID KNOW what they were doing – and sabotaged the Romney campaign on purpose. Even Cheetos-and-Coke-in-front-of-the-laptop programmers have their self-interests, remember that. Cunning rascals who sell you a cloth that is invisible to the human eye are just as good salespeople: they can lie shamelessly to the best businessman around and still come out with boatloads of money at the price of your self-respect and goodness.

    Caveat emptor.

It is hard in ones roaming of the internet to discern what is real and/or true…especially if the subject is outside ones field of expertise. I am a children’s book illustrator and know nothing about source code or hacking. I keep reading about Stuxnet and Scytl….and how easy it would have been to mess with the elections.
Very interesting post at HA which jibes with what I’m think:
Okay, I realize that Mitt had some problems with the base. In the last two months, it appeared he ran a campaign that was pretty much focused on the 5-6% undecideds in the middle, and I understand some conservatives considered him to be too much of a RINO. I also understand that his ORCA turnout program turned out to be a big bust. However:

      1. Just about every poll I looked at showed the GOP leading in enthusiasm, usually by double-digits.
      2. Every EV report I saw had the GOP out-performing its 2008 numbers.
      3. The Gallup and Rasmussen party affiliation polls both showed the GOP ahead, and Rasmussen has a great track record.
      4. The Gallup and Rasmussen tracking polls all had Mitt leading for most of the last month.
      5. Mitt was drawing huge, enthusiastic crowds, and it seemed to build as Nov. 6 approached.
      6. And then on election day, Mitt’s numbers tanked, falling short of 2008 turnout by 11%. As you can see, turnout had been increasing every four years when you add in population growth – until 2012.
      7. I’ve heard that Team Romney’s internal polls were similar to Gallup/Rasmussen.

      2000 7% increase over 1996
      2004 19% increase over 2000
      2008 7% increase over 2004
      2012 11% decrease over 2008!

All of this has been bothering me a lot, and it just doesn’t make any sense. At the moment, I’m close to concluding that this election was stolen from us. If you think about it, it wouldn’t be that difficult. They could focus on a few selected counties in Ohio, Virginia, and Florida.

      1. I’ve looked at reports from Philadelphia and Cleveland where Obama got numbers that couldn’t be true, such as 100% turnout and 99% of the vote.
      2. I’ve discovered that not ONE SINGLE MILITARY ABSENTEE BALLOT was counted. This was outrageous. I’ve read reports about the government dragging its feet to get ballots mailed out – and then the ballots were received the day after. And the absentee ballots that were sent to our troops in Afghanistan burned up in a plane crash. I don’t know how many total ballots were not counted, but I know Mitt would have gotten around 65-70%.
      3. There are three different kinds of software that was used to tabulate votes on these machines – and I’m looking into whether this software could be hacked or not.

Back to me: Another thing that bothers me is how everyone in the MSM was very quick to jump on the “The results match those swing-state polls! There you go: polls were right! Now lets talk about how much Romney f*cked everything up because that ORCA app didn’t work.”

The most laughable part, of course, is that these people are pointing the “accuracy” of the DailyKos/SEIU swing state polls done by PPP to justify how everything you list about enthusiasm/crowd size/Gallup & Ras having Romney ahead etc for Romney the last month did not mean what it meant.

FFS — *of course* the actual results of the election match the RCP averages — that’s how election fixing works, you create exactly that kind of “believable” result, you don’t give your guy a 20 point lead when the polls had him tied. Plus, the fraud via polls was in the works for a long time –at first it was to demoralize us thinking that they would win without having to do wide-scale voting fraud, but then that first debate happened & Romney started gathering momentum because people were getting excited to vote FOR him, not just AGAINST Obama. That is when TeamObama started panicking & they needed some kind of last minute “Black Swan” to reset the story by taking the focus off of the campaign (especially after the jobs reports that were supposed to be ATOMIC BOMBS! didn’t work). The flailing & vulgarity we saw directly from Obama himself, not just his campaign & surrogates, after October 3rd was due to the stress of figuring out what the “Black Swan” was going to be — if they hadn’t “lucked out” (I’m being sarcastic here) with Sandy hitting when it did, they would have been bombing Libya in relation for Benghazi a week before the election.

Which all leads to this: all this revisionist history the MSM is doing about how Romney really didn’t ever have momentum, the first debate didn’t change anything & how some tech fail suppressed Romney’s voters on election day so they will not ask the *real* questions about what happened between election eve & election day.

I full expect to see the following revisionist history in the MSM by Monday:

Remember all those liberal newspapers who flipped their endorsements from Obama in 2008 to Romney in 2012? Totally a sign that Romney was tanking.

Oh and those pathetic Obama crowds & those huge ones for Romney with thousands waiting in the cold and rain to see him (that Obama only matched when Katy Perry or Jay-Z opened for him)? That was deliberate strategy on Obama’s part to lull the right into a false sense of momentum.

Finally, Obama in Iowa election eve slumped over the podium, rambling about this being his last race with tears streaming down his face while at the same time Romney in NH with a crowd of 12,000+ cheering so loudly when he came on stage that he couldn’t start his speech for 10 minutes? Never happened.

Since hearing of ORCA and the executional problems, I have thought that the programmers sabotaged it, and that even they were plants.

I would bet, dollars to donuts, that not only did they use a lot of cheap Indian programmers but also that it was even outsourced offshore. One, a lot of those programmers have shaky credentials. Two, in my experience, it takes 3 of them to do one job. And if they had good ones, it’s easy to put in faulty code that fails after a few tests. Think ‘double agent’.

Need I say that Indians went heavily for Obama?.

I was a poll worker in Florida on election day and we had a poll watcher from Project Orca in our polling place all day. I can attest to the fact that it crashed around mid-day because she told me that it had crashed and she now had to “do it manually”. I don’t think a single GOP voter came in all day as a result of this project. All she did was continually scan the registers to see who had voted and who had not voted and only occasionally dashed out to phone “HQ”. It seems to me that field testing such a project on implementation day (Election Day) is a sure path to failure

It definitely is a bitter pill if the Orca is what sank Romney, but I will say my few experiences with it could have been better. I volunteered to be on the Election Day Taskforce. I was told I’d get my packet via email, which I assumed meant the smartphone app. I was called for training calls but never got the app. 24 hours out I was getting concerned, then I got an email saying I wasn’t needed as they couldn’t get credentials for all volunteers. I thought that explained why I never got the packet, but maybe not.

    Kevin -
I am not buying this ‘ORCA’- failure as explanation for the election loss.

I am unaware of an ‘ORCA’-scheme in 2008, where the McCain-Palin campaign got more votes than Romney & Ryan.

What Romney & Ryan did not have, didn’t want, and what the GOPe has worked hard during this whole year to obliterate, was Sarah Palin.
Was it pure jealousy of her appeal to people, was it a caving-in to the Beltway pundits and corrupt MSM, was it a continuous strategy of the Bush machie to keep her out at all cost – who knows.
But to me it is abundantly clear that Romney would not have lost had he asked Sarah to go on the stump for him, ORCA malfunction or not.

Abso-freakin-lutely. There were more than 3 million that stayed home and they were Conservatives. There were many that stayed home in 2008. Add them to that three million and we would have won. Everyone I know was pumped about voting.

My husband and worked the polls for our precinct and Romney won 2-1. Our precinct showed up. We had a 67% turn out.

We were told that we would probably have 10 poll watchers. They never showed up. They were supposed to be sitting 4 feet behind the poll books. Our poll books are on computers and even 4 feet behind the screen there is no way to really read what is happening on it. They are Dell laptops with smaller screens that 15 inches. Also you cannot tell who is Republican or Democrat because we do not register in a party in VA. Probably why we had no poll watchers.

I am still sickened about the results. But the Republicans have continually dissed the Conservatives since Reagan. They wish we would go away, but we aren’t. They left their star player on the bench back in 2011. They they dissed her some more when they decided they didn’t need her help. We lost the Senate because of it. Sarah could have gone to Indiana and helped Murdock out of his faux pas. She could have gone to Maryland and given Dan Bongino some help. If she had had a bigger presence things may have been different.

I don’t know what to think about Project Orca. I just heard about it today. To bad they didn’t use Sarah instead of spending money on something that was dubious. After saying all of that, I do feel that something is amiss and as always the party of free stuff has cheated again on a grand scale.

did it fail or was it hacked?

However, that does not absolve the fact that at the very last there was a very big swing of votes from the Cleveland area towards Obama. It actually smacks of election fraud.

Was project Orca to blame when Republicans who were appointed by the court were ejected from polling booths in PA? Then I heard that in those particular places the vote for Obama was over 90%. Bullshit!! The Democrats had enough time to do a bit of vote tampering before those Republicans were returned by order of a judge.

Then there is Florida. How many other places, like St. Lucie, had a Democrat operative do a recount on only the Republican votes and then remove 2400 of them, sufficient for the Democrat to take the lead?

Wait there is more – what about legitimate votes being treated as provisional? What about the ballots that were placed in trash bags?
Then there are stories of bus loads of people coming from Chicago to vote in Wisconsin, skewing that State to Obama. Every trick was pulled out to cause an upset.

This was all about another form of voter suppression. It includes the suppression of the military vote.

The Republicans did much better than expected, but the Democrats were determined to steal the election. And they did.

There is no way that Obama should have won that election. Romney should have won the election by fair means.

Orca was patterned after the system used to get Arnold elected in California, albeit with some major computer enhancements. The concept was sound but it looks like nobody took the time to test it or make sure it was secure. PINs not working and DNS attacks tell me someone got outside access. It looks more like poor security than anything else.

You shouldn’t have to wonder why an insider is giving the lowdown on ORCA. The news in the past few days has been all about how the GOP is failing and we need to become something drastically different (read: more liberal) in order to remain electorally competitive. The ORCA story completely undermines that narrative, and any good Republican in the know should be doing their best to undermine that narrative, because it isn’t true.

Another reason which explains why dems like and are good at early voting is “vote harvesting”. They love this early voting because it gives them a week to drive loads of voters to the polls from public housing, skid row, and sadly nursing homes. The dems have this ‘vote harvesting’ down to an art.

We need to end early voting. This would force the dems to bring voters in one day.

I’m also reading and hoping others do independent research of our voting machines and how easy it is to flip votes. Sickening.

Both side apparently might be involved in this. I also would like to add I want fresh faces not retreads, no more Bush’s running for office. I see Jeb’s son is setting up to run here in Texas.

I’m so sick of this. No more.

Also, Kevin. I’m of Mexican descent and I have an idea to begin to change the stronghold the dems have on Hispanics, in particular, Mexican-Americans who have bought into the gimme’s of the dem party.

    I’ll email you more info.

Also, I appreciate all the introspection by conservatives, but we are at war and our target is to flip voters from the dems. Since I’m of Mexican descent, my focus is them.

    Kevin
I read this today also, and was shocked.
I worked on the ORCA campaign in Bucks County, PA (one of the 4 “collar” counties around Philadelphia that HAD to go R in order for Romney to carry Philadelphia) and we had many of the problems described in the article.

Everyone had an incorrect/non-working PIN, there we many of us there, but no one knew who the other people were, the help desk that we called for help was un-helpful, to mention a few of the difficulties,

In terms of the poll watcher certificate, we had a little confusion with that, but no difficulty, and finally, the interesting thing about the “system crashing” around 4 is that things APPEARED to be working all day, but around 4 pm, the entire system logged me out, and recalculated the vote totals. It seemed like something stopped working, but you couldn’t know for sure from our end.

All in all, it was a great idea, but maybe too clever by half, and it backfired. Unless there was an intentional flaw, or there was a saboteur, that it.

Overall, I think the enthusiasm here was tremendous, even my most “Eeyore” of friends, (I actually called him Eeyore for 3 weeks) were optimistic. We had attended the Sunday rally, and were very pumped.

But things went awry, obviously, and didn’t work out the way we intended, but as you mentioned earlier, over 3 million voters didn’t turn out this time, and coupled with the “99% Turnout” in Philadelphia, we got crushed. I couldn’t believe that when I read it, and yes, it’s true, 99% turnout Philadelphia!!!!

    http://www.philly.com/philly/news/nation_world/20121108_Vote_was_astronomical_for_Obama_in_some_Philadelphia_wards.html

Of course, the stories I have heard on the ground from that area is that the caddies from local golf clubs around that area were very open about not working on Tuesday. They were very excited about earning more driving from polling place to polling place, earning $10 for each vote they placed. They earned more that way than they could have by caddying that day.

So that certainly helps to explains the 99% turnout.

But at the last minute, they got sucker punched by the left and knocked the f__k out .

It was like watching a basketball game and seein a guy run down the court going for the winning shot and an opposing team player jumps off the bench and sucker punches him as he goes by.
Then the other team picks up the ball and goes back down court and scores.Game over.

No foul called.Nothing to see here.Move along.

No, I don’t believe ORCA’s failure was the reason why we’re missing 3 million votes. We did NOT have ORCA in 2008, and McCain pulled in those 3 mil. Anybody waiting until election day to get votes in is making a mistake, and certainly monetary resources likely would have been better spent on physical ground game efforts, but it isn’t ORCA that cost us the election.

I’ve had time to think on this, and there are several articles out there discussing the missing white voter…there was always the concern (or should have been) that white (or otherwise) working class folks who became unemployed in Obama’s economy and landed up on unemployment and food stamps would attach themselves to the public dole. Some of those votes are there, and Obama banked on them which is why he made sure they had extended benefits throughout the first 4 yrs.

Some of the votes left out were the conservatives, for whatever reason – you all can list them I’m sure. Some lost votes were from evangelical Christians, many who are anti-Mormons.

We’ve often pointed out that John McCain lost in 08, but his loss wasn’t near the shellacking it could have been if Sarah Palin had not been on the ticket. She brought fire in the belly to the campaign, she also brought traditional Americans, and she did bring evangelical Christians.

Quite a few of us could see the big picture, others in our party obviously can’t see the trees for the forest, and stayed home. Romney did not do enough of the attack dog messaging that is required in a presidential race. He allowed Obama to call him a liar on the public stage in 2 debates and never pointed out all of the issues that Obama was incompetent in his first term. Nice guys finish last.

Our side has to stop giving in to the Leftist, commie media controlling us. Let them be da**ed, but by God, we owed it to the American people to tell them the truth about this guy and his administration.

Can I ask why you think that? Looking at the vote totals some in the SE (coal area) actually exceed the McCain vote totals — but most were down 2 – 5% about like the rest of Ohio.

Kevin, I think the one thing no one is publicly discussing right now is that this election was almost certainly stolen by means of voter fraud, destruction of republican ballots, suppression of the military vote, etc. It is inconceivable to me that Romney got fewer votes than McCain did in 2008. I personally know several people, who voted for Obama last time around, who were so revved up to get rid of him this time that they gave large donations to Romney and/or volunteered for his campaign. Who are the McCain voters who didn’t bother to vote for Romney? What happened to the giant crowds of people who waited in line for hours in the cold to see Romney and Ryan in the days before the election? How is it that republican voter registrations increased dramatically over the last few years, independents strongly favored Romney, and even the democrat skewed polls showed Romney winning VA and FL, but Obama still pulled it off?

Yes, project Orca may have failed, but the enthusiasm was there for Romney, the lines were there in Republican areas, and the numbers just don’t add up. Meanwhile, in democrat areas in battleground states, the turnout was close to 100 percent. I’m not buying it. What happens is that the democrats check the voter lists several times throughout the day, calling and going to houses of people who haven’t shown up to vote yet, ultimately supposedly dragging them out and getting them to the polls. What I believe is actually happening is that, once they’ve determined that someone is unlikely to show up, they send in someone else to vote in their name. This is why they are so determined to stop voter ID laws. Meanwhile, they throw out republican poll watchers and manipulate the machines and dispose of republican ballots, or convert them into votes for Obama. They also make sure the military ballots never get to the soldiers, or don’t get back in time. And of course they register illegals and invented voters. This is what I am convinced is happening.

Anecdotally, I have a personal story of another kind of voter fraud that I witnessed myself, at my polling place in ultra leftist Brookline, MA. I was waiting in line to vote, and one of my neighbors struck up a conversation with a woman who was in line between us dragging a suitcase behind her. She said something about living in NYC, but said her area was not affected by the hurricane. I asked her if she was a student, and she said she wasn’t and had moved to NY two years ago, but confided that she kept her registration here, at her father’s house in Brookline, just so she could vote for Elizabeth Warren. She said she had heard two years ago that Warren might run, so she wanted to make sure she could come back here and vote for her. She also said she planned to get a NY driver’s license next week, now that the election is done. I listened for her name and address and reported her to the cop on duty afterwards, and even called the secretary of state’s office to report her, but I doubt anything will come of it. So my legitimate votes for Romney, Brown and Bielat, were effectively cancelled out by someone who had no right to vote here.

Republicans did get out to vote for Romney, but their votes weren’t counted. Debating the failure of the republican GOTV effort is a distraction from the real issue here, which is how do we stop all the democrat voter fraud and restore integrity to US elections? I don’t know how this can be done, but I think the pressure needs to be on republican governors and legislators to try to fix this. And I hope to hell there is a secret investigation into it going on now. All the project Orcas and other GOTV efforts in the world can’t compete against an opponent who is willing to cheat and steal to win. We need to stop pointing fingers and fighting about who lost the election for us (although I personally would like to punch that idiot Chris Christie in the face). We didn’t lose this election — it was stolen from us.

Logic says you are right — I knocked on over 3000 doors for Romney in about 2 months or so in SW Ohio. The voters I talked to (in the hundreds at least) were pumped and wanted to vote. In our county we got 3.3% fewer votes than McCain in 2008 when we had a poorer political climate, a poorer candidate, with no message, and a better & larger and better funded GOTV effort — totally nonsensical. IMO.

All this talk about who turned out, who didn’t turn out… I think Republican voters did turn out, but we have to remember that these are people who generally vote only once! In their proper place of residence. And I have less & less confidence that the votes we place are being honestly counted.

With those thoughts in mind, it occurred to me to check my own voter registration. Here in Wisconsin, you can check your own voter registration in an online database, so today I checked to see those in our household. The database had my husband’s & my voting history going back to 2000.

I found something VERY curious. My husband & I both voted in the 8/14/2012 primary election at our regular polling place, each at different times during the day. Under voting method, however, both of our records for the 8/14 election said “absentee.” All of our other elections voted in back to 2000 said “at polls.” WTH?!?!? We have been registered here at this same address since 1992 and in that time, have NEVER voted absentee in any election.

Our daughter’s history said that she voted “at polls” for this election, which was correct. She voted at the same time as my husband, at which time she registered; she had just turned 18 two weeks earlier.

So I called the city clerk’s office today to check this. The lady on the phone was kinda snippy, kept repeating that “the election was on Tuesday…” as though I was utterly stupid. Duh, yes, I am quite aware when this week’s election was. In fact, I voted in it. I had to interrupt her several times before she got it in her head that I was not inquiring about the November election, but about an error in my voting method for the August election. Then she tried to suggest that it said absentee because we must have voted at the municipal building. Um, NO, we’ve never voted at the municipal building. We voted at our regular polling place on election day like we always do. After all that, she couldn’t help me; she said I would have to call back on Tuesday when the city clerk would be back in the office.

OK, then. In the meantime, my husband & I are freaking out. Did someone vote absentee in the 8/14/12 election, fraudulently using our names?!? Holy crap!!!

The Nov. 6th election has not yet been posted in this database. We WILL be checking back for ours. I am also checking to see that there is no registration for my other daughter. She is 21 years old and we are her legal guardians. She is severely developmentally disabled (cannot speak, read or write, and is at about a preschool academic level) and attends a day program for disabled adults. What if someone, without our knowledge, registered her and voted for her? She certainly could not tell us if this happened. While I would hope this would never happen at her facility, I know that it has happened elsewhere. And this is in one of Wisconsin’s most corrupt counties. So far, her name has not popped up in the database, but it is only searchable by exact name. If her name was even one letter off or if her birthdate one digit off, I would not find it.

I would urge any Wisconsin registered voters to check their profiles and voting history to make sure there are no irregularities:

I too believe there is voter fraud—My Mom and I always said it would be so easy to vote for someone else—-She saw her neighbors name on the list and she had moved to another state several years ago. Luckily, we now have voter ID in Oklahoma.

Someone should go undercover for a year and get appointed as a pollwatcher for the dems in these counties that turn out 99% and find out what is going on.

I think it’s an interesting explanation that I’ve seen on a couple of sites so far today. What I do find curious is that the Romney was so reliant on securing the battleground states that they literally ignored everything else, including their own base.

    Everywhere.

Like it was some kind of scientific experiment or tactical maneuver.

Well, it wasn’t. It was politics.

Kevin, I don’t care how many of “best and the brightest that money could buy in terms of loyal advisors and brash young turks who would do things with GOTV that no Republican had ever succeeded in doing before” if the candidate’s own base isn’t SOLIDLY behind them, they aren’t going to win. Anything. Period.

This isn’t about the Tea Party or even Sarah Palin even though they keep being mentioned, but it is about the fact that through them an enormous ground force was already in place around the country and ready to go to work on behalf of whomever the GOP selected. Why were they not utilized by Romney? All it would’ve taken was one gesture on his behalf to let it be known the SHE and hence the Tea Part was acceptable and mountains would’ve literally moved in every town in this country.

    But that wasn’t acceptable.

Instead, why was the focus so tightly on the battlefield states that the rest of the country barely realized there was an election going on if they didn’t pay attention to cable news? You think I’m joking or this is isolated to my state, Kentucky?

The Romney campaign ignored campaign basics that I learned at the feet of the great (Republican) man-behind-the-scenes in central NJ politics in the 1960s-1970s, Dr. Julius Mastro, who also headed the political science department at Drew University. (and is doing 360s in his resting place, God Rest His Soul)

      1) Play the ground game at the lowest level, everywhere. Coffee klatches, pizza parties etc. and not just a week prior. Then drive around and make sure your friends vote. Get them to the polls along with a friend. Drive around, pull over and ask the person walking if they voted. (Make sure you have signs on the car tho!)
      2) Every vote counts, even if you are going to lose the county
      3) Listen to your polls but take them with a pound of salt
      4) Big media works to get out the message in a great big way in a way that social media can’t. Romney should have been doing national TV roadblocking, which is buy 1/2 hour time on the nets and the major cables, with radio network feed, to put forth his programs in a presidential way. He had the money!! and would look even more like a president, it would get news. He could have bought 15 minutes after Sandy to not campaign but promote charity and neighbor helping neighbor.
      5) Romney also forgot talk radio–he never went on most of the major hosts for 10 minutes.
      6) Finally their social media fell down a bit–I got stuff on Facebook but ZERO on LinkedIn, where I spend most of my time.

Because I knew of the 2 he was the better choice.Yeah he was not exactly like me as far as ideology but he was close enough for me to feel comfortable with the thought of his presidency.Especially on handling economic matters. He was a business man he knows how to get things done. Now we have 4 more years of this socialist to look foward too.
You know what? I have a few words for those republicans that stayed at home…If you stayed home because your guy didn’t win the primary, please tear up your voter registration and don’t bother voting. You are too ignorant, petty, or self absorbed to be voting in the first place. All of you knew what a second term would mean and you opted to let him have it so you could get even with the party for not choosing your guy. There is no turning back once this legislation is in place. Thanks for ruining our healthcare system, and economy and the lives of generations of Americans to come over your petty selfishness.I hope you are happy with yourselves.

As far as I am concerned, sometimes it is hard to have a clear, bright vision of the differences between the parties with the RINOs who are out spilling their pearls of wisdom! It is time to pass the baton from them and their version of big tent theory–and instead do a better job of messaging conservative principles to all the people who are going to be hurting for the next four years.

I was a poll watcher and used the ORCA reporting system. I didn’t have a smart phone with the app that reported results, so I had to manually enter each voter ID number on my regular cell phone. Surprisingly, even though I entered hundreds of numbers, it didn’t take as long as I thought it would, but I missed recording some of the voters when I was outside logging into the system.

The problem I had was that I wasn’t able to hear all the names as people voted, so I just reported what names I could hear, and called the general help line to report the actual number of votes. Plus, it was extremely busy most of the day and I was scrambling to keep up on my own– we had the highest percentage of voters at that polling station ever, 72 per cent. (Most people were showing IDs, so they never said their name out loud. They were told that an ID wasn’t necessary, but everyone showed one, anyway.)

The other problem I had was at the end when the ORCA instructions said we would hear a confirmation message. That message didn’t play the first time I entered the info, so I thought it had not been received. When I called the help line to report the problem, the person I talked to said that they had had several reports similar to mine, but reassured me that they had received my info. Later, when I reported in again, the message was there, so it must have been fixed.

I was told that this is the first time they had had poll watchers at that polling station, and someone jokingly asked me if I was from the UN. There was a poll watcher there for the dems also, but she came late and only stayed a couple of hours.

I guess it’s possible that it had some impact, but voters are adults…they shouldn’t need someone holding their hand and reminding them/encouraging them to vote.

I really truly think the reason we lost are the stubborn conservative “purists” (and/or Paulbots) who were convinced that Romney was just as bad as Obama, it would just take longer for him to drive our country off the cliff. They have this delusion that everyone is going to vote for some obscure conservative candidate who matches their ideals once Obama’s second term is over. I have seen and heard many of these people proudly that they didn’t vote or threw away their vote, and I want to strangle every last one of them. There are also a LOT of evangelicals out there who wouldn’t vote for a Mormon.

I am just keeping my fingers crossed that Obamacare does not cost my husband his job or our insurance (I’m pregnant). I am so pissed off that people supposedly on our side decided for all of us that this election didn’t matter.

I wonder how many of those people were predicting in 2008 that we would certainly get a new Reagan after ONE Obama term.

There was a radio person (a conservative rabbi) saying in 2008 that he thought an Obama win would be better long-term than a McCain win for that reason. (Before that, he had said, more than once, that he expected Obama to be reasonable on the economy and foreign policy because, as the first black president, “he won’t want to go down in history as failure.” And months later, he adamantly denied saying any such thing, but I had filed his statements in my computer, date-stamped, soon after he made them.)

It’s folly to base one’s a vote on the prediction of a big backlash in the next round. The ONLY way to move the country in your direction (if you’re not going to cheat like the Dems) is to vote for the better (or least bad) of the available options (with a chance of winning) in EVERY election. Even the Communists understand that!

I volunteered for 11 hours. If there wasn’t a project Orca, I probably would have made calls for 4 hours (because I can only handle making so many calls). By the way, the victory office was still packed with people making calls and the phones were full despite some volunteers diverted to Orca.

My assigned polling place ended up with five orca volunteers. We worked together effectively. There were ZERO obama volunteers there. So, in my swing precinct, our effort was infinitely better than the nonexistent Obama effort.

Also, in the Walker recall election, the state GOP decided not to do any poll watching/strike lists and instead focus on phone calls and door knocks– and we won by a lot. So I don’t think we can blame the Romney loss on lack of election day voter info.

So, I think there were issues with Orca. I think it’s a good idea that needs improvement and *most importantly* local implementation. But I think scapegoating the election on orca is dangerous, because it will keep us from focusing on other factors that had equal or more impact on our loss.

Did you look at your ballot? There’s already a 3rd party, and a 4th and a 5th. How are they doing? How many House and Senate seats did they win?

If the Republicans couldn’t win against Obama (or let him steal it), how soon do you think another new “third” party is going to win the presidency, or get any significant influence?

Obama started out in a “third” party: the New Party. Then he realized that he’d get nowhere that way. So did many other hard leftists. They understood that infiltrating and taking over the Dem party was the only plausible way to have a chance at real power.

The Communist Party has spoken in favor of the Dem Party, because the Dems at least move things in their direction. The Commies aren’t saying that Dem and Republicans are the same — because they’re not!

Stop with the “third” party nonsense. It’s a losing proposition. The only way to have influence is working to support sensible, electable conservatives in the primary process — and vote AGAINST the more leftist candidates at every opportunity.

Kevin, I honestly don’t know about Project Orca or all of the reasons this fine man lost the election. I do know that I am all the more regretful about his loss when I read this:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/decision2012/life-after-defeat-for-mitt-romney-public-praise-private-questions/2012/11/07/4db3bc38-2916-11e2-96b6-8e6a7524553f_story_1.html

But Romney, those close to him said, is not second guessing the counsel or work of his staff. After he spoke at Wednesday’s breakfast, Simmons said he spoke privately with Romney.

“I said, ‘So what are you going to do for the next few weeks? Let’s do something fun,’ ” Simmons recalled. “And he said, ‘Uh, I’m going to be really busy.’ He said, ‘I have 400 people to get great jobs for.’ ”

So, despite the trash-talking his former staffers might be doing, Governor Romney will showing them what a true leader does for his people.

John Ekdahl’s post which formed the basis for a lot of stories on this subject was a very good report. But I don’t think he has to labeled as a campaign “insider.” I volunteered in Palm Beach County FL, and had virtually the same experience. I was no “insider”, this is the way the failure of a centralized system like that would look regardless of where you were witnessing it from.

It was a %$#*&^@ mess, so bad that I would look into the possibility it was hacked or sabotaged.

Kevin, I wasn’t aware ORCA was supposed to be getting people to the polls but am aware of how it was to be used on election day and prior by phone volunteers. I was supposed to be a republican poll observer but at the last minute, ORCA failed to get me my credential certificate, so, although I was already assigned a precinct and had the list of registered republicans I was to check off as they voted, I was unable to fulfill the job. However, the premise was to get the names of those who had voted to Romney Headquarters and volunteers would call those who hadn’t voted yet. I volunteered at the phone center later in the day, contacting register voters for ORCA to see if they’d voted & if so, did they vote for Obama. The phone surveys were complicated and difficult complete successfully because of the complicated method involved in reporting the information and often, it seemed the program wasn’t working correctly. There were times where the system was down because we all got busy signals when attempting calls. I just thought I’d share what my short experience of 3 hours was like since you brought up the topic. I’ve been in sales for years and am not afraid of cold calls but the degree of details required to complete each call for ORCA was overly complicated for part-time volunteers and I don’t know that the ultimate goal of identifying voters who hadn’t voted yet, was accomplished to the degree of advantage Team Romney were expecting.

Also why did the Hurricane move Gallup from a 7% Romney lead to a 1% lead and then a 2% election loss.

You are meant to judge a President on 4 years, being presidential for 90 minuets doesn’t count for anything. And it doesn’t include a debate on what the next 4 years will bring.

The Hurricane was used by the media to promote Obama, and Chris Christie should have known what the media would do with him.

There is no logical reason why a hurricane impacts an election, but the evidence is there. But a mandate on a hurricane isn’t really good.

I used the Project Orca app and it basically functioned very well. The problem for me was that I was outnumbered 7 to 1 at the poll where I was on the near west side of Cleveland by democrat “observers” who were “helping” voters to scan their ballots, directing them and even helping them fill out ballots. The poll “judge” an angry stupid black woman and the lead Democrat “observer” another angry black woman ganged up on me although I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I truly believe that the democrats loaded the inner city urban polls in swing states with “volunteers” who, without any supervision—hey it’s a big problem that white republicans won’t go into the ‘hood—cheated and stole this election from Romney and the forces of good. By running up the numbers with dead people and penitentiary dwellers they were able to overcome the substantial numbers of honest voters in the suburbs and exhurbs. The democrats understood that only certain areas of certain swing states were important and they moved in for the kill. The demonized Romney, the most upstanding person to ever run for president and then cheated their way to victory. I don’t think Obama expected to win or even WANTED to win. In one way I’m so glad he did because HE is going to have to do something about the fiscal cliff and all the stupid losers who voted for him will be paying more for gas and heat and losing their jobs because of the massive layoffs resulting from Obamacare. The market signaled that Romney wasn’t president. I felt it. I’m not sure if I had found this site yet or not but the market is roughly 6 months ahead.

Was reading about the dems and how they conducted their campaign. John Batchelor said he gave them 5 bucks early on and got every email. I’m sure he got the emails tailored for older white men. I learned at the dem watch party that a lot of those people are lonely in a crowd. They’re excited about “hey, so and so, what up” emails from Barack. I don’t think republicans/conservatives/libertarians/tea party members/evangelicals/independents could stomach warm and fuzzy emails from a republican president and his/her significant other and his/her various campaign minions. I think those emails would help lose them the election.

In many ways I think the attack commercials were busy work for the opposition to distract us from the task of getting Romney elected. While we were wholly occupied with their outrageous claims, they were quietly wooing their voters with whatever it took leaving no stone unturned. I don’t think republicans are willing to do this to be your best bud on fb, and twitter. It flies in the face of republican ideology. Here your stressing independence and taking responsibility and championing the constitution and then you’re going to hold their hand on fb and pop onto the daily show to shoot the breeze while the world is crumbling around you? A republican wouldn’t have it in their make up, they’d eat sleep and breathe fixing the country, they’d have no time to woo you, they’d expect you to be a grown up, to put on your big girl/big boy pants and learn to sooth yourself.

I don’t know what he answer is.

That is exactly what happened to me when I was assigned as a “poll watcher” in an Urban area outside of Pittsburgh.

They stood right behind the voters and directed them to the button for Straight Party Democrat.

They called me a racist and told me that they run this polling site and no GOP poll watcher was coming in to “watch them.”

Numerous people came in with slips of paper in their hands, with their “address” printed on them…so that they could be told at which of the two precincts they were supposed to vote.

Then they went back out and got into the van to go to the next polling place….and they joked out loud, for my benefit, about this.

Ummm, I’d just like to point something out. A lot of people are saying that adults shouldn’t have to be reminded to vote. Well, I hope people realize that a true “get out the vote” campaign is as much about getting people registered into the process and making sure they have the transportation and means to get to their polling places as it is about who they vote for.

And no amount of fancy gadgets or gizmos are going to transport someone who needs a ride to where they need to go, although they might be a great help with the logistics in this day and age if used correctly.

All I’m saying is all the counting of heads coming out of the polling places aren’t going to mean a thing if there wasn’t a plan in place to make sure the people got there in the first place.

I know that Romney has already conceded, however is the campaign investigating as to if fraud did happen? Is anyone investigating this? Especially in Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania….etc. I don’t think this ORCA project is the culprit, I believe it was something much bigger.

All the ballots have not been counted. The electoral college doesn’t give the final results until December. We cannot let them get away with this…our country is at stake. Is there anything we can do?

I guess I’ll say what no one else seems to want to say. I suspect Romney lost because 1%-1.75% of Christians would note vote for a Mormon as they do not consider it Christian. I really do not think you need to look further than this explanation. Mississippi and Tennessee may be good examples where the senatorial races outperformed the Presidential…both strongly Evangelical Christian areas.

I know Methodists in particular in some churches abstained from voting for Romney.

I really don’t think project Orca or any other explanation is needed when you have an obvious candidate.

As I’ve said before, we can all discuss Mormon vs. Christian theology until the cows come home. (Heck, I’ve learned plenty of Mormon theology myself to make sense of it all. But that didn’t mean I joined. It just means that I learned. But I digress.)

That said, discussions about religious affiliations should NOT be part of the political realm. Period. Not to mention, that pesky Constitution Leftists seem to love to ignore says a little something to that respect, on Article VI, Paragraph 3:

“The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

That should be enough to shame them – and they must be shamed far and wide for the horrifying future they have brought to this country because of their decision.

I voted for Romney because he was the most capable man for the job. It was obvious to the American people from the get-go. But the American Electorate chose security and freebies over Freedom/Liberty. And in the end, as Ben Franklin said, will get neither.

Kevin – I used ORCA in central FLorida. I was annoyed that the download and print information came in at 6:14 pm on Monday because I was not told it would be that late, and I use my printer at work and didn’t have a working printer at home. So Tuesday before heading to the polls i had to go buy a printer (neighbor printed 17 pages of the 40+ page printout before her printer died) and install it and print out the voter list and instructions before heading to the precinct.

I ended up glad i took that time as although my precinct chair was very helpful to me, and sat me about 2 feet away from the s-z last name line, I couldn’t even hear those names much less the 4 other lines.

However, they let me have the registration books when the line died down… which it did from 11-3pm… in a very republican area. That was my first ‘hmmm… i would think there would be higher turn out’ moment. I shoved it down and used the time to manually strike my voter print out (quicker than the app – which downloaded and worked fine for me, but wasn’t as quick as striking through the list)… then I used the app to input mass info at one time.

I think ultimately the turn out was fairly high given that high 30+ percent voted early… but when there were no lines mid day in my republican precinct, I got nervous.

I didn’t panic and start feeling that I was a horrible person for having my 2.5 year old boy and saddling him with the nightmare of our economic system and debt until later that night… dammit. He’s so innocent. How do I feel remotely good about myself for bringing him in to this horrible future? I am researching places we could emmigrate to… but nothing really seems ideal. I grieve for his future. I know Mitt Romney would have made it so much brighter. And I feel a murderous rage at all of my friends who voted to ruin my son’s future. So much so that i don’t think i can be remotely civil to them. Some of whom i;ve been very close to for over 30 years.

I am heartbroken for this Country… for my son’s future… for my future… for Governor Romney… and for all of us who want limited government, market based health care/insurance and a chance to use our talents to create prosperity for ourselves and others…

    1. Please quit dissing the Evangelicals. They knew that this election was about religious freedom, not about picking a pastor for the country. If anything, they understood better than most how important it was to get rid of Obama.

    2. Please try to understand that some people are just not as motivated to vote as Hillbuzzers are. They get distracted, don’t have rides, whatever. The GOTV efforts are not aimed at committed voters. GOTV is for the ones who will make excuses if given half a chance, but who will show up if somebody holds their little hands. Apparently there were three million of them who didn’t vote this time because the ORCA system failed our army of volunteers. But most importantly…

    3. The longer I look at the data for this election, it looks like it was stolen. It didn’t really matter that ORCA failed. Whoever programmed the computers made sure that Obama would win by a slight margin. Voter enthusiasm didn’t matter. Voter turnout didn’t matter. Demographic splits didn’t matter. It was baked into the computer code and it was going to happen, no matter what.

It’s too late to fix #2 and #3. The question now is, what do we do going forward?

” Had arguments with bright people who are fiscal conservatives who would NOT vote for Romney because he is a Mormon. Religious bigotry and just plain ole ignorance is part of the equation.”

And just for that, I’d rather see Romney support any efforts to make Utah an independent country – just to spite all those who didn’t vote for him because of who he is. And I’m a Baptist, mind you.

I would ask them: “So you’d rather have the White House stay in the hands of an Islam-sympathizer (at least) who tramples on Christians’ religious freedom and abets the persecution of Christians worldwide? Is that the Christian thing to do?”

And: “Did you notice that Romney didn’t hesitate to chose a Catholic as his running mate?” (Well, some evangelicals view Catholics as not really Christian either …)

I’m sick of theological purists (i.e. simpletons) letting the country go to ruin because they imagine God will reward them personally for being “faithful.”

Kevin, please don’t join this silliness. The Democrats started their ground game over a year ago. Talk to some of their volunteers, they were at it pretty heavily while the Republicans were writing Obama’s Romney attack lines in the primaries. They have the army, heavily populated by union drones, and they have a much easier geography in the urban areas in which to operate.

The way to do is far simpler: have an insider sytop the working Orca and start a flawed copy say at 6 am on elction day, load ansd start a flawed copy then when work is done delete it and restart tthe legitimate.

Also unless you are careful, black hats can trick client computesr into accessing a Democat-run Orca instead of the legitimate one.

Romney is a central planner. He threw out the local strike lists in favor of a centrally planned system run from Boston.

I hate to say it, but I think we would have seen more of this kind of disastrous central planning had he gotten in.

Much to every sane person’s surprise, Obama defeated Romney. This means we must endure four more years of incompetence, race baiting, humiliation in international affairs, refusal to exploit our own natural resources, political corruption and cronyism that would make Al Capone blush, and economic stagnation if not complete financial collapse while all of Obama’s fiascoes are explained away by his little helpers in the media.

Republican and Conservative leaders are wringing their hands, wondering how quickly we should sell our souls to the Devil, and which parts of our political agenda we should abandon in order to attract a sufficient number of clueless voters to win the next election. My friends, WE don’t have the wrong agenda, THEY do!

Meanwhile, Roseanne Barr attracted 50,000 votes in her run for President, and she sees no reason to moderate her agenda one iota.

Yes, 60 million people voted to let the insane people run the asylum for four more years. But 57 million Americans stood up to the extreme agenda, rejected it, and voted to put it out of its misery. Rather than collapsing in a bundle of pity and tears, I think we should be bragging that there are still 57 million sane people left in this country who embraced the conservative agenda. And between now and 2014 and 2016, all we have to do is persuade (and deprogram) 3 million more voters plus 1 to win the next elections.

Much to the Devil’s regret–and that of his partners in the news media–We are not going to back up, shut up, or go away. We’re here. We are going to stay here. And in 2 more years, we’re gonna kick your butt.

I read each and every post here. I think there was a lot of voter fraud going on. I worked on Orca in Boston and I took the case reports and gave them to legal. I heard same in other areas of the country from other orca volunteers.

I don’t think the polls made sense, The DailyKos for the first time was the most accurate over Rasmussen. Something is not right here.
The Suffolk Polls were totally wrong?

I think the election was stolen in many states.
I hope this is thoroughly investigated.

I agree on the hurricane Sandy being questionable and Obama’s polls miraculously go up because he looks presidential? This is all too absurd or maybe we are too realistic and logical and the voters who put Obama into office are outright dumbed down and irrational.

I am taking every perspective into account.

I was an ORCA/poll observer in Cuyahoga County – specifically assigned to Berea polling location. I was so excited to be a part of the action. My iphone worked in the beginning but then I had problems and had to call in each voter. That was such a pain but I felt like the people in Boston were getting out the vote from the data I was sending. At one point, I questioned whether all the data I was sending was going anywhere . I had a bad gut feeling…. I did receive an email from the obama campaign at 11am asking for volunteers to GOTV to meet at a certain location in my local town. When I called the help desk at ORCA, I mentioned this to them so they could counter. They seemed receptive. Oh well.

I am fairly new to this site, and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the caring and encouraging comments. I despise the sites where people do nothing but call one another names. But I have a comment today that may not appeal to many but feel compelled to say it. We lost. Whether it was voter suppression, ORCA failures, weather, laziness…it really doesn’t matter. THe result is the same. We are experiencing what others have felt in different circumstances where they felt cheated or lost out in some way. It is all part of life. Life has never been fair and will never be fair. We are experiencing what families of soldiers feel as the knock on the door reveals the dealth of their loved one. It is sudden, shocking, painful, and life will never be the same again. This is it, people, a new reality and it will be up to each person to deal with that in their own way, but deal with it we must or we become whiners and I refuse to be a whiner.
When my father passed in 2001 my mother grieved for many months over her new reality. Living with someone for 55 years, working together on the family farm, raising 6 children was a life she cherished, and she spent time reliving memories and crying. But, she gave herself somewhat of a time limit for that grief because it was not helping her to move forward. We must all do the same. Decide when you have grieved enough and then let it go. Grieving requires a lot of emotional energy and thinking and we now must all decide the direction of our lives in this new reality. Perhaps we can share those ideas of survival, finding joy again, how to repair relationships that were destroyed during this long and arduous campaign. As my mom used to tell us as kids….I will set the timer for your pity party but once the timer goes off, get busy. We need to get busy living or we get busy dying. I chose life. Ruminating about unfairness is non productive and I am a goal oriented person.
My first endeavor is to remain faithful in prayer for those I love but also for the Romneys and the Ryans. Can you even imagine the effects of the constant battering these 2 families are taking in the press, every website and news program? The game is over, our side lost and now we are beating up the team. I grew to love this team and their families and still believe in my heart that they would have been great for the country. They are the heart and soul of the America I grew up in and wanted for my grandchildren. They are still out there fighting by living their visions and values. We should do no less. Take time to regroup, refocus your life, revisit some goals you had that you allowed to fall by the wayside, and begin anew. There will be extreme challenges. Some of us will lose our jobs, our pensions, our way of life that we have been comfortable enjoying. Change happens and dealing with change separates us from those that sit in their stew and become sour. Begin by writing 5 things everyday that you are thankful for. Look at your family, friends, community with fresh eyes and ask yourself how you can be more loving, helpful, or encouraging. Take time to thank the cooks or cashier at your favorite fast food restaurant or grocery store. You will be amazed at how their faces will register the look of surprise. We all want to be noticed and appreciated and so many jobs are just so mundane and the people feel invisible. Let us be the light that I felt Romney/Ryan team tried to be. They were so positive and uplifting. Let us carry that forward into our homes and communities and in doing so, they, and we, won’t have lost at all.
As sad as I was of the vote count, I still felt an inner joy and peace. I don’t know what God has designed for our country and I may only live to see what I evaluate as decline. But there is a plan and keeping my eyes focused on all things good and loving is where I want to spend my remaining years. I will not always succeed, I will still have good days and not so good days, but I refuse to spend it reading fear porn, Monday morning quarterbacking, destroying the team that gave me hope. I am limiting my internet use to positive and inspirational sites, which is why I am here. When everyone here is ready, let us share the good in our lives, encourage one another, and share ideas of how to navigate this new normal.
Now go out there today and spread sunshine!

The reason so many of us are starting to say “election fraud”, the reason we all still feel so shell-shocked, is that by every known historical measure, Obama should NOT have won. No one with his economic record wins second terms. No one whose approval rating has been under 50% for most of the year wins second terms. No one who attracts fewer votes the second time around wins second terms. Then, add in all the polling data, esp. on party affiliation, plus all the anecdotal ground reports about voter enthusiasm, and the election result JUST doesn’t add up.

BTW, Artist, do you have a link to the HA article you posted about up thread about possible vote fraud?

Now, there’s the traditional Chicago machine-type ballot stuffing fraud, voting for the dead or the imaginary, finding additional ballot boxes under the desk of the local Dem crony, suppressing the military vote, voting multiple times, districts where 100% OR MORE of registered voters voted, all of which tactics the Obama machine used.

But on top of that is the new type of fraud that Lame Cherry is talking about, and that is, electronic deletion or replacement of votes AS THE VOTE IS TAKING PLACE, with no possibility of audits. A few weeks ago, I dismissed this type of speculation as absurd, but given the fact that Obama’s reelection itself goes against every historical precedent, and given that Obama’s record has shown that nothing is too beyond the pale, I find my mind going there more and more.

Even if you think this is tinfoil hat territory, the question is: How do we know for sure? Any type of system, to have integrity, must be fully auditable, and it appears that many of the machines in use do not have that capability.

Just as an aside, some have talked about requiring that the machines give a receipt to the voter, but even that is not foolproof. It is just engineering to record one name on the paper receipt to give to the voter, but record another name to be tabulated electronically.

This is a good article on the state of electronic voting. There is hope. At the end of the article, it talks about mark-sense type ballots (paper ballots with the bubbles like on standardized tests) which are then scanned as possibly the best system for both the ease of electronic voting with the greater integrity of the paper ballot.

Traditionally, Republicans have relied on more informal means to GOTV, including through churches, local organizations, and family and friends. As these bonds have loosened and frayed in modern culture, so have the effectiveness of these efforts. No formal group, organized by a Republican candidate in the few weeks prior an election,is going to match the power of the boots on the ground that Democrats have at their disposal on a permanent, and oftentimes, paid basis.

    http://www.redstate.com/2012/11/07/about-tuesdays-loss-if-the-archangel-michael-were-on-the-ballot-beelzebub-would-still-have-won/

ORCA may have been seen as a way to leverage a cheap, disruptive technology to at least slightly counter the institutional advantages held by Dems. Unfortunately, it appears that these technologies have too many vulnerabilities to be deployed in a high pressure, short duration event.

We should go back to using robust, field-tested methods, whether using manual strike lists, or abandoning strike lists altogether and just calling and knocking on doors.

That said, did this cost Romney the election? It’s arguable, but I doubt it. There’s a huge difference and disconnect between what Democrats mean by GOTV and what Republicans mean. For us, I think, it’s just to pick up the stray votes here and there of people who need reminding or who need a ride to the polls. For Dems, it appears to mean busing groups in wholesale, from the projects, nursing homes, schools, churches, unions, and threatening or bribing them to vote a certain way. Strike lists for Dems, at least from anecdotes I’ve seen, seem to be used for the purpose of determining who hasn’t voted so a partisan operative can vote in their place. Even if ORCA had been operating at 100% efficiency, it never would have had the vote-getting effectiveness of Dem tactics.

“Campaign Sources: The Romney Campaign was a Consultant Con Job”
    http://www.redstate.com/2012/11/09/campaign-sources-the-romney-campaign-was-a-consultant-con-job/

This is mentioned at the ace site.
Savage pointed out last night that Hannity immediately came around on immigration. I was listening, I thought that odd. I’ve thought the reactions of so called conservative radio and television and blogsphere pundits have often in the last couple of days, been odd.

Watched Boehner’s little speeches. He looked like a scared little boy suddenly wanting to be part of the cool kids and worrying he’d be left behind. It was pitiful to watch. Reminded me of the Boehner who gave us obamacare. I think it’s time for new leadership in the house. Maybe instead of it being a popularity contest, the House can elect someone with no future aspirations, with absolutely nothing to gain or lose politically.

This morning Kudlow joined the “immigration chorus”. Interesting they are calling for their folding like a cheap tent. Now Jennifer Rubin is on the bandwagon talking about how we have to change how we talk about the whole country. They are blaming it on the base. They are saying that the base needs to be “reeducated”. These people are tone deaf. They take no responsibility for the damage they have done to the campaign. Like Kudlow at the last minute pointing out that Romney had stopped saying he was going to cut taxes. They aren’t thinking that the GOP brand is irreparably damaged by the effective rhetoric of the left over the 8 years of the bush administration. They aren’t thinking that they pushed out Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, the tea party people nope. Kudlow is suggesting riding the Pat Buchanan wing of the party out on a rail. Blaming Buchanan and his ideas for the loss, in part. Of course, no one mentions Rove or the RINOS. Rove got GWB elected twice. That campaign was on the internet. I remember reading and posting on GWB blogs, sharing good, real time, on the ground information. Why wasn’t that system, that network further developed for the good of future republican candidates. Rove’s reaction election night spoke volumes. He couldn’t believe the loss. Logically, it made no sense. But, if the majoritiy of republicans are content with the loss, unwilling to explore what happened. If people who post to conservative blogs are vilified for asking about “voter fraud” or any other question that needs to be asked, then the narrative is set. Makes you wonder if they, in the end, wanted to lose. If so, why?

If I read correctly, even Bronco Bama got 6 million less votes than in 2008. Excluding the massive fraud angle that would mean MILLIONS just didnt show up?!? Even with the real awareness of Obamacare looming over jobs?!? Makes NO sense to me AT ALL.

My remedy is simple. Republicans need to get radical. People respond to hot or cold. Lukewarm has no impact. In the interim let folks choke on Obamacare. Republicans should not lift a finger amending it since this is what Obama has hinted at. Let them feel the sting of having to work only 28 hrs a week. Let them feel the shame of the welfare line. I’m already hearin the bullsh*t comin from my friends that a Romney presidency would not have made a difference. An easy argument to debunk due the fact that these layoffs are specific to EPA and Obamacare regs. Two things Romney would have done away with. Then they say “He won, deal with it” to which my response is “I’m not the one in denial about the looming unemployment line…you are”. So let them bleed baby!!! In thinking about this, perhaps Romney wasn’t chosen to be the one to defeat Obama, but instead was being used by God as a means to test our devotion to him. Obviously the nation has made its choice. So what better lesson could our nation have, than to have Obama’s own deeds be the catalyst to his destruction….and the destruction of the Democrat party, and our media…

I find it hard to accept that God purposefully allows evil cheaters to win over decent people, with the result that many others suffer needlessly. Leftists don’t believe that “God has a plan.” Instead, they work like the devil to make things go their way, and that’s how they beat nice people. Conservatives need to confront evil in concrete ways, relentlessly and shrewdly, rather than fall back on the fantasy that God is mysteriously working his will when evil is winning.

God has given his people intelligence and a “free will” so that they can make the choice to be taken over by evil or not. Yes, evil is winning…however that doesn’t mean that we need to accept it, or succumb to it. What I am saying is that God has a plan, and even though we may not like what is happening, that doesn’t mean that we need to lose hope, stop fighting, or believe that he has abandoned us.

“Foodstamps Surge By Most In One Year To New All Time Record, In Delayed Release”
“One glance at the number reveals why: at 47.1 million, this was not only a new all time record, but the monthly increase of 420,947 from July was the biggest monthly increase in one year. One can see why a reported surge in foodstamps ahead of the elections is something the USDA, and the administration may not have been too keen on disclosing.”
“Finally, going back to the start of the official start of the depression in December 2007. In the 57 months from then until August 2012, there have been 4.6 million jobs lost even as Americans on foodstamps and disability have risen by 21.2 million.”
(If you like visuals, they have some really cool ones)

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2012-11-10/foodstamps-surge-most-one-year-new-all-time-record-delayed-release

What puzzles me is comments on blogs that they were advertising going on American government assistance in Mexico. Why? You would think they’d want to keep these numbers down, not make them go up. There has to be some political reason why they wanted these numbers up. Maybe so they could be used later as a convenient excuse for the numbers of the election? The “baby” reason as Savage would call it.

On election night hubby was unable to access past voting numbers by county on CNN. He’d practiced doing this weeks before encumbered only by the hurricane and loss of power. He’d planned to print them out and never got the chance. So, on election night this frustrated him. Learning that the romney campaign was using the numbers from places like CNN makes you wonder if they too had this frustration. Haven’t checked if the numbers are magically back. The Republicans would do well to examine all these country numbers. It should be obvious if something is horribly off. And no, you can’t assume white voters just didn’t turn out, makes no sense based on colloquial evidence alone.

As each day passes with nary a word out of the Romney camp the nuts who said it was a bi partisan effort to skew the results somehow don’t see to be all that nutty after all. As you watch Colonel West, out there, alone on his raft, you wonder if what is being said about the Republican glitterati not really wanting him isn’t maybe true.

More and more I’m envious of those Iraqis. Give me a paper ballot and ask me to prove who I am and let me sport my blue finger all week. Then televise the opening and counting of the ballots on local television. Like the press did when they were examining the hanging chads in Florida only to find they were exactly right.

The Republican glitterati is not examining the loss to see if there was any fraud involved even in the face of evidence that might suggest it was possible. No, they are using their minions, cable and otherwise to attack the base and purge the party of anyone who disagrees with their RINO selves. Further allowing the democrats to craft their message.

Read a post on another blog. The person said “I trust NO ONE at this point”. That’s very honest and, if you’d admit it, probably how all the people who went out to vote for Romney/Ryan are feeling these days. Since the political tacticians have shown us all the nuances that go into politics it seems as though it may not be enough to just vote as your vote might not get a chance to speak for you it might morph into a vote you would not have created, by magic, in the clouds.

Why isn’t anyone stepping up to put the voter fraud meme to bed or not? Why is the response to go along to get along and to condemn the base and to move toward immigration by the democrats? Why are the Republicans suddenly willing to deal and raise taxes when clearly the exit polls show 65% don’t want to raise taxes (Larry Kudlow said this on his program today).

    Makes you wonder.

After reading all these comments and doing a little research. I think there should be some sort of ground swell about the very real possibility of fraud. Some sort of campaign that would force some sort of “voter confirmation” drive. Where people could verify their vote was cast correctly. This is some bullsh*t!!! St Lucia has 147% vote totals?!?! Counties in all the states that mattered have 100% turnout and those just so happened to go for Obama?!? If nobody on Romney’s side does anything about this it will lead me to believe they are all full of sh*t. If you love this republic, you fight for it.

All the things mentioned do not matter. SCYTL has controlled the outcome of the last two elections. Nothing can defeat SCYTL.

I was a poll watcher in PA the night of the election and was part of Project Orca. I did have training and had the App on my iphone. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. At the victory center they told us the App was only know a few weeks before the election and it wasn’t tested long enough. So we were all given print outs of voters for our polling place and as they come to vote we crossed there name off the list. The problem with this is Boston wanted this data in real time and didn’t happen. It is great had it worked properly.

I just cannot fathom another four years at least. I cannot shake the stomach ache since Tuesday night. Republicans aside, how can the democrat party as a whole accept what is going on? Perhaps some don’t which could explain the non voters on their side. The party elite in the democrat party must accept it though.

I read the link from “Brand New Reader” below:

    http://www.redstate.com/2012/11/09/campaign-sources-the-romney-campaign-was-a-consultant-con-job/

THis is very unfortunate if true. I was at Boston Garden and there was a problem immediately with the log in of Project Orca. NO one could sign into it.

All volunteers had to call every poll worker with a new link to log onto project Orca. The computer portion of sending the voters names back to Boston did not work. Each person in the field had to manually send the data in and they had to manually write or check names from printed sheets.

I had a very sick feeling by 4 p.m. I talked to a few others who felt the same way. It was my gut reaction telling me something was very wrong here. I took data from people who worked alone in polls and were overwhelmed … they asked me to help code the ID nos. into the system. If I coded voters IDs into computer using their log on … they could not go into their smart phone or I Pad as two people cannot simultaneously use same log on Identifier.

There was never any trial run of this project; which is a big mistake in something like a presidential election. The internal polls indicated Mitt was winning. We were all elated with that information. From what I am reading from various articles that appears to be false.

If all of this information is true; people like this should never work on anyone else’s campaign ever again. This is devastating information. The person I was teamed up with was a software specialist and he told me the system was hacked into; I don’t know how he knew that; was it an educated assumption or was he told. I was told there was a problem and at the end of the night; I asked if Obama people hacked the system. I was told there was a mole or two but that they did not breach the system. The information relayed to Huffington Post was obviously from a mole earlier that week. On Nov. 1st, the app was on an article by Andrea T. in HuffPost.

If that App worked appropriately, it would have been a very successful endeavor as it was fast. However, it did not and manually telephoning data in and writing it down is tedious.
Punch cards would have been more efficient.

I heard this entire project will be under review and media is going to analyze this further. If this is one of the reasons Mitt lost, it is very shameful because he did trust the employees in Team Romney headquarters.

I worked out of Romney headquarters in their newer office, there were only two and we did training from a script over the phone with field volunteers in battleground states. We included Wisconsin, PA, Michigan in those states because Mitt’s numbers were close.
If that data was all wrong, then there were severe problems from the beginning.

It is better to have lower numbers so you are more hungry and GOTV more aggressively. Obama team were extremely aggressive; read the new article in WhiteHouse Dossiers which was written today. I do not have the link; but go to WH dossiers and read Obama Campaign 2012 the best.

This is very sad indeed. I hope Team Romney contacts all of us who worked that day to explain what really happened.

    http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2012/11/08/obama-2012-campaign-greatest/

this is the link regarding the exact precision of Obama campaign in GOTV. They were very aggressive and single-minded in getting new voters as they knew many would not vote for Obama again.

Keith Koffler predicted a Romney win and was way off like so many others.

I did take calls on Voter Fraud; but I do not know if the numbers would have made Mitt win this election. Only the internal staff could figure that one out. But, if they had data which was not reliable; could they be able to determine this information?

I will be very interested to see how analysts review Project Orca which I am very sure they will and we will be hearing about their findings.

There were some questions regarding Evangelicals coming out to vote; they did and in record numbers. There are many articles on net and this is one from Newsmax:

    http://www.newsmax.com/US/romney-evangelical-vote-obama/2012/11/07/id/463268

I think we really need to analyze the facts here:

Project Orca did not work up to its expectations.

Obama’s GOTV was highly aggressive in targeting new voters

Question of Voter Fraud in many states, especially the battleground state.

Analyze all of the demographics carefully for both sides.

Can the Electoral College results be verified, one contributor said December was deadline.

The polls were all over the place and the results after Hurricane Sandy did not make sense.

I found this article regarding voter fraud in this election.
Pls. add any other links you may come across as well.

    http://newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd559.htm

The are seeking volunteers in specific states to audit votes as voter fraud is suspected. They can add NH to the list as well.

This site is very specific in particular wards and precincts.
I hope the GOP is going to investigate and demand accountability.

My last post for the day …. remember the credible pollster Barrone who predicted a Romney win; I have his current article.

Why are all the very credible pollsters all wrong, Barrone, Colorado Model, Rasmussen, Suffolk, etc. and the far right democrat run polls are all correct. Something does not add up here.

The Left is after Rush Limbaugh. They really want to shut him down. Like they are going hard to push that.

But there is some silver lining in this.

2016 looks like strong candidates will be competing for the Republican nomination.

Rubio is giving signs that he will run. Paul Ryan has already hinted at he would.

    (Jeb Bush don’t you dare!)

    Susan Martinez may run.

2016 will be the year of strong candidates. Between Ryan, Rubio, and Martinez (if she does), it’s going to be hard choosing just one. So we have that.

Also we’ve got at least 2 years of gridlock to look FORWARD to while republicans have the House. The democrats can blame away. Even if they win the house they will only have two years to screw things up before Obama is done.

Then it’s Hillary (she’ll run whatever she says now). Now somehow I can’t see most blacks wanting to vote for Hillary. She’s a white woman. I don’t think that will sit well with them even if she is their freebie queen.

Biden running? Lol. Even the lefties hate him. What else do they have? Um… let’s see. Hm…

What do you know the Left doesn’t really have much in the way of new recruits. That’s why they’re so desperate to get Raul Castro to run.

Of course, Raul Castro is a Texas Commie which means he’s still damn proud of his country and he loves Texas. This is why they keep trying to push him to go to Washington for “grooming”. He doesn’t seem to be getting it though.

Pretty much the lefties have depleted their talent where the republicans have “deep” talent to choose from.

And after 2016, George P. Bush should be ready (whether four or eight years) to run. He’s already being shaped up as a natural succession to presidency.

The GOP is loaded with talent for 2016 and beyond where the democrats are really scrapping at the bottom of the barrel.

They HAVE to get Hillary to run. They don’t have much else without her. But I just don’t see the muslim, black, and chavenustic elements of that party all that eager to vote for a white women, freebie queen or not.

She will have an excellent ground game though. Have to watch out for that.

But if we have Marco Rubio or Susan Martinez we have some really strong contenders. And Ryan. And then George P. Bush. So let’s not lose hope.

Let’s see how hope and change looks in another four years.

Orca was a complete clusterf*ck. Check here:

    http://minx.cc/?post=334783

Rather spoils the Mr. Great Executive line they sold us.

But, I have hope. People with skills and education will weather the next depression. The typical Obama voter won’t. Tough. They voted for Obamacare. They will learn that 30 hours means part-time is the only job they’ll get, and 50 employees means you can’t be hired. That sort of learning experience undoes a lot of progressive indoctrination.

The more I am reading about project Orca there is so much coming out; it costs more than 10 Million dollars and I am personally going to state Mitt Romney got conned with this one.

It never worked from the moment we sat down and opened up our computers and worse, the volunteers in the field were clueless because they had a program which was a total failure.

Please read this link from Red State. I never watched candidates Ryan and Romney but many said they look stunned, I know why because they were fed incorrect data and thought they were winning. We NEVER had live feed from the Orca system on the giant screens; instead Fox news played.

    http://www.redstate.com/jimmygee/2012/11/10/orca-of-biblical-proportions/

I was very hesitant to say too much negativity about this program but it is all out there now. Someone made tons of money and this program is not functional. I am not sure it could be ressurected from the dead. The information gathered might be of use to future campaigns; but not this debaucle which is a loser.
