Does it seem to folks that Obama’s Presidency is sort of over? I get the sense that the Obama voters think he’s terrible, but they won’t admit it. I live in major Obama country, so it’s hard to know what is really going on. But it seems as if he’s really crashing and burning, and doesn’t know it ….. it’s a most peculiar thing to watch. It seems like he’s pretty lame duck. Or is that wishful thinking on my part. I can’t imagine him being re-elected.

This is anecdotal evidence but my sister and brother in law, lifelong Democrats and Obama voters, are now asking me if he can be impeached. This is the opinion of all their Union worker friends who always vote exactly as their Union demands. I believe that not only has Obama lost all credibility but their Union has also lost the support of these once reliable voters. Obama has not appealed to their patriotic nature and his decisions on terrorists has been insulting to them. The uncontrolled spending by this administration has them worried and disgusted. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and their partisan power plays have them stunned. I truly believe that for the first time in their lives they will consider voting for someone other than a Democrat in the next election. It’s that bad!

It would be hard to impeach him unless he did something just totally outrageous. If it had been easy to impeach a president they would have done so to George Bush. Instead we had to listen to their screeching for three years.

I think there will be periods of good and periods of bad. Obama is trying to come off as a centrist and no doubt it will soften the hate going on right now. When healthcare goes silent and the economy improves people won’t be as angry. If unemployment stays high and the economy stays terrible he’s in trouble. People don’t always pay attention to the details like we do.

I would tell those folks that they made a bad decision and now we all get to live with it for three more years…and this is exactly why one needs to look at the praticality of someone’s agenda and whether or not it would fly in the real world BEFORE you walk into the voting booth. That charm doesn’t mean squat and it usually means bullshit is a’flying. That good speeches doesn’t mean that someone can walk their talk and their history shows you more than what they’re promising.

And if they haven’t learned that yet, then the next time voting comes around, they’ll vote ANOTHER idiot into office.

Agreed, JKR. However his appointment of the czars seems to be somewhat uh, “extra constitutional”.

And at the risk of being labeled a frothy birther, I have yet to see even the slightest bit of convincing evidence that the indonesian utopian is an actual US Citizen.

That’s just what I got off the top of my weekend addled head- doubtless there’s smarter than me out there that could come up with better reasons for impeaching jugears utopia.

          However one is all that
is needed, try proving where he was born. If it is any place but America, he is out. If it is America, he gets a pass. He has a bigger problem, consider this. By November of this year, no one running for office in his party will ask for his suipport. His recent track record Stumping is not good. By October they will be running from him.

Julia, here’s a little family-style, anecdotal story- take it for whatever it’s worth.

      My wife, the Sarah-Bot.
      Her brother, the O-bot.

They both started as Goldwater supporters ( as did I ) long ago- she became a Zell Miller, Scoop Jackson Democrat after college, he?
I’m not sure, except I noted as Bush’s term grew longer, he grew more snide, “Yer boy isn’t doing so hot, is he?”

The first time Sarah spoke nationally- the week before the formal announcement– she stood up and yelled at the TV
“I want to vote for that woman!”

Could have knocked me over with a feather- I never could get her interested in politics.

Right after that, we see her brother again, and on the back of his un-PC SUV?

Two of The Bamster’s stickers. ( Both crooked- I sure saw a lot of that… )

Needless to say, her side of the family & his existed as armed camps wary of each other, until recently.

The last time she spoke with him, he casually referred to Bam-bam as “Satan…”

      I suppose that’s progress.

I still think that the Democrats have more infighting between the progressives and liberals than with the Republicans. They just blame the Republicans. It’s the moderate Democrats that they are attacking more than anybody..which is scary. There is a huge war going on between progressives and liberals. I hope the liberals win. Otherwise, we’re stuck with the likes of Michael Moore and Code Pink.

I teach high school English. There are still many students enthusiastically bleating about The One. I noticed recently comments like “Why do people have to obstruct the really good things that the politicians are trying to do?” They find no irony in the fact that the Dems have the hugest majority in many years and that they themselves are the ones who can’t get it together.

The conservative students are still pretty quiet. There’s still a lot of mockery for Fox News and W. and Palin. I live in a fairly conservative community.

But you have to understand that conservative people have always been quieter than the loudmouth liberals who want to inflict their viewpoints on everyone else because their views are anointed, as opposed to ours.

The tea party movement hasn’t really extended to students, as far as I can see in my anecdotal limited instances.

What I’ve observed on the net and in groups.

If there are 9 conservatives and 1 liberal in a room or on a board, THEY set the rules and the tone. They demand it, often thinking that everyone else thinks like them because they’re quite.

On forums, people are ‘just trying to get along’, have fun and stay on topic…. so the liberals run rough shod over the group.

What I’ve personally experienced on several interest and hobby forums (all non-political) is that the liberals will be starting the “FOX SUCKS!” or “PALIN IS AN IDIOT!” threads.

The conservatives are quite, chatting about their books, hobbies, interests…. all the while PMing about how annoyed they are but not wanting to start a flame war.

On more than one site, I’ve seen the conservatives leave to go form private, closed discussion boards, only to have the liberals, weeks or months later ask “Where did everyone go??” This was especially funny when one forum that had prided themselves in having the oldest and most illustrious creator of THE most comprehensive web page about the art EVER on the board.

She left in disgust to join a smaller, more moderated forum. Seems the young brats thought she was LIKE them so she thought LIKE them.

Same happened with a book forum I helped start. The majority (like 9 to 1) were conservative. All the other book forums we had hung out on were extremely liberal (I mean “BUSH IS SATAN” threads interwoven in the newest releases discussions).

A few of us thought “Cool! We can make this the conservative version of the others…. in a sea of liberal boards, we’d be the haven and bastion for the conservatives.”

Well, that handful of liberals whined and demanded we make it a ‘neutral’ board because they didn’t want to deal with politics. IOW, when they’re outnumbered, they don’t want to defend their positions. I’m still pissed off about that 2 years later.

Lastly, in RL situations, I’ve had new women come into our group, look around and see women with degrees, tattoos, piercings, their own businesses, a drag queen over there– a very VERY diverse group.

Barely 10 minutes have gone by before they start bashing conservatives/Republicans— I mean, the first words out of one chick’s mouths was “We have to fight the Republicans in this election because they want to take away our rights to abortion!”

And there she stood between a nurse who worked with a pro-life adoption group, two home-schoolers and 2 others with McCain/Palin bumper stickers.

Ya coulda heard a pin drop. We were nice to her, explained our position, while she basically based hers on Olbermania…..but even now, she’ll make remarks “Such and such is just too conservative!” and we’ll all say “And why is that a bad thing?”

The biggest change conservatives must do is like the Jews post holocaust….we have to learn to fight back, be heard and not allow them to continue to make the rules.

I agree with you. Conservatives are quiet. On my facebook I’m such a loud mouth…I post things all day long, headlines or stories that I find important. Things that either alarm me or I think are outrageous. Without a diubt my conservative friends will send me messsages privately cheering my posts. The liberals ones argue or make fun of it. Very rarely will the conservative friends openly agree or cheer. I have just a couple who will fight with me, even though I KNOW there are some who are wildly conservative…they will not push hard. They send me a “YAY” in a private message like it’s a secret. I don’t understand that…unless they are just trying not to be “like the liberals”.

It’s the same on FB with me…. I would say my list is mix of folks school-community, hobbies-interest-fans, friends and yes, political forum buddies.

Yet, while I know the majority are conservative (I think I can count like 20% are liberal) I’m hesitant to post stuff.

I’ve been labeled “so POLITICAL!” when I post. I’ve even had gay friends PM me to say “have you ever heard of a Gay Conservative? Well I am one…but I keep it quiet.” WTF! So I tell them about HB.

Yet… YET, the libs post stuff because it’s funny and cool.

Whenever a conservative posts something, I respond is support and encouragement. We have to do it…. Silence and getting along is good in kindergarten but as adults, it’s how dictators come into power.

I moderate on a conservative news/discussion site which plainly states in its “About Us” that it is by definition a site intended for conservative discussion. Different opinions (even liberal) are welcomed, as long as they express themselves rationally, without profanity. Those two criteria seem to screen out almost all leftist content. Occasionally, of course, the wannabe bashers just let loose with tyrannical rants, full of profanity and vileness, simply reverting to what they know because they can’t have their way. We’re all getting massive confirmation on what we’ve suspected for years~~that leftists really can’t THINK. They can only DOMINATE and PUSH PEOPLE AROUND. No wonder they hate people like Hillbuzz and PUMAs who actually THINK. We’re all breaking some molds here and it’s a fine thing to behold.

Even if it were only 25%, that makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. I can only assume that they’re either so naive they just don’t get it or they’re just not paying attention.

The richness of his ‘posting’ is if you conveniently forget it is OBL waxing philosophic (admit it…living in a cave leaves a very tiny carbon footprint so no dissing Osammy…he walks the walk!) and the screed could have been produced and delivered by just about any Dimocratic talking head. OBL just misses claiming ‘there is no clean coal’ and he could BE ManBearPig (well, mebbe not the Pig part…don’t want no Fatwas my way).

One more interesting story. Dear Leader ‘went to the Lion’s Den’ yesterday…but going to the Republican House members ‘retreat’ in Baltimore.

Apparently it was carried live; but C-Span repeated it.

    Oh. My.

SchoolMarm Barracky was all but missing the cameo brouch and hair bun. He talked ‘down’ (nose. in. air.) to the room like they were petulant little kids who crayoned ‘outside’ the lines and now HE has to clean their desktops. He was arrogant; combative…and TRULLY stumbling and dithering when he had to THINK!.

One Republican CongressWOMAN (why are only the elected R females the ones with the ‘sets?’) Marsha Blackburn didn’t let him get away with interrupting her or talking over her. Look for Queen Nancy to place the ‘Bachmann’ bullseye on Blackburn as well. She was that good.

I was honestly surprised that he went to talk to someone in a forum in which they could answer back. Maybe he thought they’d all be cowed into submission by his audacious hopey coolness. Or maybe he thought they’d all be as lacking in testicular fortitude as the current party leadership seems to be.

At any rate, I’m glad he was given what for. I almost feel bad for the way I feel about Dr. U, because it’s eerily similar to the way my older sister felt (and, I suspect, still feels) about George W. Bush. The difference, I think, is that I didn’t set out to feel this way about Obama. I actually really wanted to like him, and I desperately wanted him to live up to his rhetoric. I didn’t think he would, but I hoped.

Instead what we all got was an ever-increasing arrogance that grates on my nerves to the point of screaming at the television. (I swear, if I see one more picture or video of him with his nose in the air, I will puke. WE’VE SEEN ENOUGH OF THE UNDERSIDE OF YOUR DAMN CHIN ALREADY!) A surefire way of pissing me off has always been to insult my intelligence, and this man does so every time he opens his mouth. It’s to the point that even the sound of his voice makes my eyes narrow. So I’m glad he got served.

Same here. I used to get so angry with the people who mindlessly trashed Bush and after the election, I swore that no matter what Obama did, I would continue to give him the respect that the office deserves. He lost my respect after the Henry Gates incident when he admitted he didn’t know the facts, but went on to condemn the Cambridge police for acting “stupidly.”

I agree with Angelaisms and AFinch. Growing up in Indiana, we always closely followed Chicago doings. This man came from that rigged political environment and he came from nowhere with very little info. about his previous life really being answered. Every time something was questioned, like Rev. Wright, you were accused of being a racist. He reminded me of that old song about the “Rapper”. He has a great line but you know what he’s after.

I voted for Hillary and then was forced to vote for McCain to try to stop this guy. Once he became Pres. I tried to like him but just can’t for the above pointed out reasons. I bought his books to try to understand him. I didn’t want royalties to go to him but I was trying to see what he is about.

His “Dreams…” book had me flabbergasted that anybody could have voted for him once you read the book. He is so arrogant and so anti-American. He not only dislikes America, but he also does not like anyone in Europe, esp. England because they colonized Africa. There is so much more there and I would
encourage others to find a used copy if you want to hear him in his own or Bill Ayres words.

Has anyone else noticed that not one person from his past has come forward to say “Yes, I knew Barry well”? He was Barry until he embraced his blackness as he says. He just isn’t at all what he seems.

          Thank you for listening.

I’m with you all. I never like Obama, but used to get so angry when people would call GW Bush “Shrubbie” or say “I refuse to call him President Bush, he’s not my President”, and I’d launch into a spiel about having respect for the office. Now? I’m doing the exact same thing. I call him “the Obamanation”, and never ever ever use the word President with his name.

I can’t believe you said that about his damn chin! This is something I’ve been complaining about for months! It seems petty on one hand, but in reality I think it exemplifies perfectly his arrogant, condescending attitude toward EVERYONE, including his own party! I thought he was unbelievably condescending at that Repub meeting yesterday, but all the commentators today are clucking about how “brave” it was of him to go into the “lions’ den.”

What a joke! It wasn’t brave! It was the beginning of his realizing that he has to actually TALK with the opposition to be able to manipulate them. BOY, those damn Repubs better not capitulate either ! I can see them all gathering around him like flies on honey to cozy up, forgetting the reasons they are in D.C….to represent US and not perpetuate the same dang system.

AND I WANT TO KNOW WHY SCOTT BROWN ISN’T SEATED YET!!!!!!!!!! AND WHY THE REPUBS AREN’T PROTESTING!!!!!!

Ugh- that imbecile had the nerve to call republicans obstructionists, etc. For a purported “constitutional lecturer” this imbecile doesn’t seem to grasp that with the majorities he enjoyed he could have passed ANYTHING he wanted.

Then he launched into some bizarro world explanation about how the Republicans by voting against him had “left themselves little wiggle room”. I swear when this idiot gets going with his anti-reality jabber that gravity stops working and time runs backward.

And isn’t it funny that utopia’s definitions of “compromising” and “working together” mean agreeing with his stupid ideas without question.

What a tiny, arrogant pos. Obama is rapidly shrinking into an action figure of himself. Just pull the string, and disjointed non sequiturs tumble out of his purple lips.

President Bush compromised on legislation in order to get bills passed. He worked with the Democrats. He was able to give and take. President Obama does not reach across the isle. Pelosi has shut off any debate by the Republicans. Reid has shut out the Republicans. The Democrats have a supermajority. They do not need any Republican votes. They have the power to pass anything. Yet they fight so much with their own moderates they can’t get anything done unless they’re paid off or bribed. It is infuriating to me when Obama blames the Republicans for blocking his legislation. He does that because so many people do not pay attention and hey don’t know better. They have no clue that it’s the moderates not the Republicans.

Dr. Utopia’s Affirmative Action saved him from having to stand up for himself and fight his own battles. The utopian geek doen’t know how. That’s an advantage you have over the geek!

I’m not afraid of him. I am capable of kicking his and any other little progressives ass.

I would refer to a geek as someone who is extremely smart that may not have the best people skills because they are absorbed in their work or research.

Getting back to the insecure argument…insecure folks act one of two ways…extremely shy and not confrotational, or the exact opposite – condescending, arrogant, power hungry and and in Obama’s marxist way – evil.

Obama’s NOT insecure. He’s had doting adults around him his whole life. Yes, he missed out on a father, but his grandparents and mother, when she was there, overcompensated by indulging in him too much.

In another way, I wonder if his guardians were overreaching liberals who felt guilty that their grandson was black. I say this because of Teh One’s disparaging remarks about his grandmother’s so-called racism. He showed no respect for her when he said what he did.

Honestly, I think that much of liberals’ attitudes toward minorities is generated by a sort of sycophantic fascination with “diversity” and prompted by white guilt.

Guilt over success and being white, pride over being magnanimous toward minorities even in the face of absolutely ignorant and illegal behavior…

This is why we are creating people who, because their skin isn’t white, think they deserve special privileges or free money.

In addition, this liberal attitude toward bad behavior has created people who feel doomed to die at an early age. They are not held responsible for their own behavior; they do not believe in their own ability to be successful without the condescension of benevolent slave masters.

          Indeed, this is slavery.

More than that, she’s been using the United States military as her private chauffeurs. People who should be spending their time and resouces in the defense of our country are having to stand by, just in case Pelosi wants to fly home to San Francisco. Rich people do that for obscene costs with Lear jets, but at least they’re using their own money. She is using OUR’S.

It would bother me less if she was even attempting to be a tiny bit frugal about that, but if you look at the bar, it’s obvious that she doesn’t give a crap about that.

There is a huge/massive/amazing difference between having access to a small plane that has other priorities that care for the Speaker as well as other official duties and as listingstarboard said, having to use a freaking fully loaded 757 piled higher and deeper with expensive booze.

It’s already been all over the press for quite some time now, that what she is doing is quite unlike what any other Speaker has done in the past.

What does 9/11 have to do with having expensive cognac in the bar? She wants to get bombed on a plane, she can bring a freaking picnic basket that she supplied and packed herself.

Don’t tell me that the size of the aircraft and the booze have anything at all to do with national security because you know that it doesn’t.

Here’s your first clue: The President needs a 747, she has a BIGGER aircraft. She needs something more than Obama?

ok, seriosuly, I don’t know who called Blanche a troll.

Giving another side of information is NOT trolling.

        Stop calling everyone a troll!
All Blanche did is give a piece of information that is actual accurate.

The military plane information is accurate, as for Pelosi boozing on that plane, that part has got to go! Pelosi can pay for her own damn booze and botox!

(I meant to put this reply under the person who called Blanche a troll, but for some reason it did not go thru.)

Hey, yes, I am a troll; I sometimes go to other sites and stir up sh*t. It’s my inner political agitator acting out. They come here for the same activity. But gawd help me if I should utter that slander against someone on this board, someone who is using weasel words to justify an arguable opinion.

Just a thought, but why doesn’t the Republican party somehow adopt “the party of No” into their campaign slogan for this year? Somehow they could say something like we have heard the people and they say no to the hugh deficits, they say no to the government takeover of healthcare, they say no to treating terrorists like civilians and giving them lawyers, and on and on. Besides being effective, it would also get free promotion from the dems themselves who keep saying they are the party of no. Any thoughts or am I just crazy?

Yes!! I’ve seen some commentary following Obama’s speach at the repub’s retreat saying they have to be careful about being cast as the party of no. I say embrace it! What I keep hearing from the tea parties (I confess I have never been to a meeting) is: (1) protect us from terrorists, (2) let us keep more of our money and (3) leave us alone. I think the best thing Washington could do right now for the economy is say we’re not going to do anything for the next year–no new taxes, no new programs, no new initiatives, now go forth and prosper.

Tom Coburn had a good reply to that on the Senate floor during the Heatlh care rationing debate. His response was basically, “you don’t say yes to everything when its bad. Like you don’t say yes to children all the time.” It was like a parent explaining to a child, maybe sometimes you have to say “no” for your own good.

The census’ first question is “Do you generally identify yourself as a Conservative Republican, Moderate Republican, Liberal Republican, Independent Voter who leans Republican or Other”. Liberal Republican? As in liberal deferential Senator John McCain or liberal squishy Senator Lindsey Graham? What the GOP should have asked is:
Are you a Scottie McAwesome Republican? That’s what we’re going to write in “Other”. And on the donation line we’re writing “Senator Brown has our donation”.

Yeah, that’s right…the reason it wasn’t on CSpan was because there was no place to film it. Gee…if only it had been held at a round table with cameras around, I would’ve done it. The scary part is, people actually believe it.

      No kidding, Cosmo-

Again, our wizard “constitutional lecturer” shows ignorance. He is currently screwing up the Executive branch of our government. This is one of three branches, although thanks to this idiot we might have to establish the “screaming infant” branch of the government.

Anyway- there is nothing in the constitution about utopia’s (Executive) branch overseeing or directing the activities of the Supreme Court, which is part of the Judicial Branch. Separation of powers and all that pesky stuff…

Given that this stuttering mope no longer even has a law license (willfully surrendered in 2008), completely misunderstood and/or mischaracterized the latest Supreme court ruling, and repeatedly displays a stunning ignorance of our foundational governing document on a near daily basis- I’d say it’s a good thing the Supreme Court can tell him to pound arugula.

This is good for a laugh. I read this and not only thought of Obama, but also thought about how Gore spoke during the debates in 2004. Speaking…very…slowly…like we were as stupid as a box of rocks or preschoolers.

“Hinkle: Talking Down to the Public Will Surely Work . . .

    A. BARTON HINKLE TIMES-DISPATCH COLUMNIST
    Published: January 29, 2010

This is a complex issue, and the longer it was debated, the more skeptical people became. I take my share of the blame for not explaining it more clearly to the American people.

–Barack Obama, State of the Union.

There’s a lot in the bill that people are going to like. It’s just a question of understanding it.

    –ABC’s Cokie Roberts, Dec. 20.

What are the immediate plans for recalibrating the message or intensifying the message to explain better to the American people what you’re trying to do?

–Question to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, Jan. 20.

It mighty big of man with nice voice to take blame like that. Him not need to. Head honchos not often take blame. Most times after big screw-up, head honchos say they have “full confidence” in someone who work for them — right before pushing someone off edge of cliff, or letting someone twist “slowly, slowly” in wind, like tricky Nixon guy did with man who ran FBI.

Man with nice voice not like those other head honchos. Him bring change to Washington already, see?

But him right. Him not explain health care good. Use too many big words. Say too many compound-complex sentences. Confuse American people. American people not want that. American people want simple explanation. Simpler the better.

Me feel kind of sorry. It must really get on nerves for man with nice voice and people on his side, like lady on TV and cheerleaders in White House press pool. Why can’t lamebrain American people get idea through thick skulls? Them not know how to make choices in own best interests! Need enlightened leaders to make choices for them. (Enlightened = smart. Me look this up in thing called “dictionary.” Dictionary good! Try sometime!)

Want example? Take mammogram fight. (Mammogram is thing where doctor squish tender woman part really hard and take picture. Owie!) Last year U.S. Preventive Services Task Force say women not need mammogram until age 50. Say squishing younger women not very clinically effective, so not save many lives. Say sometimes “false positives” scare women. This not good. Smart people must protect silly women, make sure they not get scared!

Experts say, from cruising altitude of 32,000 feet saving 12,000 lives over course of 10 years just not worth it. Country should not waste money like that. (Can hardly see someone from that far up anyway.) But crazy right-wing TeaParty people go around saying things like: Well, if it my life or my daughter’s life, maybe me feel different. Maybe me should be one to decide to get squished or not. This just show crazy right-wing Tea-Party people always thinking about themselves.

There so many things man with nice voice need to explain gooder. Like, if some people still need health insurance, why not just give them insurance voucher, like housing voucher or food stamps? Why put entire U.S. medical system in Cuisinart and set on Liquefy?

How come House bill create 111 new boards, commissions, and programs? How come, if point is to give insurance, House bill raise big chunk of revenue by fining people without insurance? How that help anyone? This seem crazy to knuckle-dragging trailer-park people, who not know no better. And how come Medicaid and Medicare not doing the job? Isn’t that what they for? And if they not do job, then why should people think even bigger program will?

Many American people too stupid to see answers to questions like these, even though they totally obvious.

Man with nice voice also need to explain why it so bad that U.S. spend more on health care than other countries. U.S. spend more on clothes and iPods, too. People in U.S. have more what called “discretionary income.” Only spend small share of paycheck on food and rent, so lots left over. Old man want to get knee fixed, why stop him? Him want to buy big new tender woman parts to make hot young trophy wife even hotter, what wrong with that? Seem kind of silly, sure. But man with nice voice need to point out where in Constitution it say White House get to make that call for him.

Stupid American people have strange mad love for Constitution. Crazy right-wing Tea-Party people always making big fat deal out of it. Want to know where it say Congress can make people buy insurance. Freaky house speaker think that Constitution business nonsense. “Are you serious?” she want to know. Crazy right-wing Tea-Party people dead serious. Say government that can make you buy insurance can make you do anything, anything at all. Some even ask what crazy right-wing president and Congress with that kind of power might do. Me not like to think about that!

Whole issue make brain hurt. Good thing man with nice voice in charge. Him have right ideas. Just need to try new angle, that all. Talk slower. Talk louder. Use small words. Treat American people like kid who got held back in elementary school. That bound to work eventually.

The spirit of liberty is the spirit which is not too sure that it is right.

    –Judge Learned Hand.”

You practically needed a shovel and a clothespin for that one. I’m assuming it’s as obvious to you all…he did it for sound bytes and to “make pretend” that he is bipartisan. Of course, bipartisan is defined as “vote yes to everything I want or else you’re not being cooperative”. It was all an act, and will now be used by the left to show how he “tried” to work with those evil Darth Republicans. Loved it when Boehner handed him the packet of Republican ideas…you know, the ones Obama claims never existed?

Obama was INVITED to participate – the Repubs didn’t know if he would attend. They didn’t plan on having cameras there; he’s the one who wanted to bring them along. Now they have him on tape admitting that he DID receive their healthcare plan way back when (can’t say that they didn’t offer anything now) AND read through it.

Now they have him admitting that he broke some of his campaign promises and he out and out LIED about some of the claims that he made. Good idea, Skippy – too bad it’s gonna turn around and bite you in the rear end…

Yep, I am one of those nasty conservative lurker, and we are (usually) quiet. Also we don’t believe our salvation depends on fomenting a progressives utopia, because we have a God, thank you very much, and we don’t need to create a “mother Gaia” to worship in order to give our lives some sort of meaning. I personally am also pretty heavily armed, and an active duty military member, and marvel that the progressives seem to think that A. my brothers in arms (and myself) would ever allow ourselves to be deployed against our own citizens; B. that in a culture war/revolution the military would protect their slimy azzes from the angry armed mob of citizens; or C. that they can continue to provoke the Tea Party crowd without provoking that response. These guys still don’t get it. 500 angry Libs march and cars burn and window are broken, with cops being called to tear-gas the crowd. >1.5 Mil Tea Partiers march and there is NO property damage. Are these idiots in Washington so blind to human nature that they cannot understand that wanton destruction is committed by individuals who, because they doubt their own efficacy are inclined to prove that they have physical power? And conversely that a large mob with no poperty damage is one that has no doubts as to it’s efficacy?

As someone who is actually pro-CHOICE… I actually do respect the word CHOICE.

I never realised that pro-choice to women’s groups means they will only support you if you chose abortion. They actually don’t support choice, they only support THEIR choice.

They need to respect both sides, not just THEIR choice.

The hypocracy of NOW is just stunning. Glad I no longer donate to them, idiots!

Choice is just another word like ‘tolerance’. The far left is only tolerant of it’s own viewpoints, not of anyone else’s.

It’s like saying “I’ll absolutely support your right to your own opinion, as long as it looks exactly like mine”.

Bill O’Reilly asked a NOW (or possibly NARAL) spokeswoman ‘why she was offended that Tim Tebow was alive.’

She wouldn’t or couldn’t answer the question.

The Tebow ad IS about choice!!! The ‘other’ choice. And now…did you know Gloria ‘Where is the Camera?’ Alred has LITERALLY stepped into this. She want’s (I kid not) ‘verificatin’ that Mrs. Tebow was actually told this…damnit…Gloria want to review her medical records!

          Absolutely certifiable.

OUr best hope is a free press that wakes up and does what it is supposed to do. I read “Game Change” and subsequently saw Mark Halperin on some interview (probably on Fox, as I refuse to watch little else) referring to politicians, noting that Obama was “one of the good ones.” I nearly spit out my coffee and realized (yet again) that this is why we are in this predicament.

The coopting of the free press has led to citizen journalism sites. The press needs to grow a pair and start re-establishing themselves as the fourth estate. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and no politician–even the high and mighty One should be exempt from their scrutiny.

Example: If I were an editor, I would be sending a team to find all those alleged hearings that were on C-SPAN that we all missed….and comparing what was aired to the actual bills. Alas, too busy covering the lives of celebs and other nonsense.

The only politician that came across as competent in that book was Dear Reader (what a surprise) – they threw in a couple of “bad” things about him, but he still came out smelling like a rose.

I was livid about how Sarah Palin was portrayed in that book – especially since I had already read “Going Rogue”. Of course, the authors are part of the MSM machine, so what else could you expect?

I really don’t understand the mindset of journalists in this country. Where is their profesional pride? Have they no capacity for shame or emberrassment? Obama jokes about waking up in bed and asking Charlie Gibson for advice. Even Charlie’s own puppetmaster is poking fun at his sycophantic tendencies! Still, they all still play along. Amazing.

I don’t remember all the details, but as I recall Obama was doing some sort of comedy routine. I think it was about 6 months ago. In the routine, Obama was considering some sort of issue so he decided to turn around in bed ask Charlie Gibson what he thought. The comment was not a secret. You know, I don’t remeber it very well. I’m going to look it up.

Had a fantastic start to my day today: went with my son & some of his Boy Scout troop to DFW airport to welcome an early morning flight of our troops coming home for 2 weeks of R&R. Every day of the year, these flights come in, some to be met by families here, and most to connect to other flights home. There’s a special area near the gates where anyone who wants to can come wave flags, clap, cheer, and generally thank our heroes. This morning’s flight had 233 direct from Afghanistan.

Wonderful! I live in the North Texas area and am pleased as punch to thank our soldiers, including paying for lunch for a young female soldier at a local fast food restaurant. She had just bought her lunch; I put the right amount of money on her tray and said thank you for serving and let me buy your lunch. She was surprised and almost refused to take it, as she was just doing her job. I said pass it along to the next soldier then. It was one the highlights of 2008 for me.

You know that SOMEONE has that information – it took a vast network to conceal all of his records in the first place. At some point, one of those people is going to get fed up and spill everything. After that, the information is going to cascade out…

Somewhere along the line over the years America has lost sight of who is really important. At the top is WE THE PEOPLE-each individual citizen. I don’t know when/where this Imperial, Aristocrat version of the Presidency came from but it is wrong. The Presidency is a job-part of our balance of power. Congress-Senator or Representative a job to do the people’s work (constituency)-Supreme Court to verify Constitutionality. None are gods or Messiahs or goddesses (Pelosi comes to mind). Everyone is accountable to the citizens due to their paychecks are generated by the citizen/taxpayers. Personal agendas legacies etc. just do the peoples work. I think that is the crux of the Tea Party revolt-the people are demanding to be represented once again-it has been a long time. WE THE PEOPLE will restore the country-Scott Brown and the others to follow will be a great start.

I agree that should definitley be the primary focus. It’s more concrete and easier for people to grasp.

The other things are important too, however, because they provide an education that a lot of younger Americans are lacking. This will help prevent this type of thing in the future.

A lot of people actually WANT the government to take over things, because they think it will be easier and more efficient. They need to understand, through real-life example, how wrong that is.

And…fwiw…the SeeBS announcers are just ‘gushing’ how awesome it is that Obama is ‘sitting at the desk with them!!!!! announcing!!!’

My 15 year old (Duke BBall fan) son just came and said ‘President Obama just said in three years he might need a new job.’

He never really talked about politics before, but now that he’s not supposed to drive anymore and doesn’t have a yard anymore, he’s started reading all these business/economy/money magazines and come to the conclusion that Obama is sending us into financial ruin. Every time we see him, if the TV’s on and Obama comes on, it’s, “Yeah, this Obama, he’s the worst president we’ve ever had! He’s a socialist.”

Just wanted to say “hi”. I love your site. I found it before the election – I voted for Hillary in the primary in MD but was electrified by Sarah. It is so great for me to hear from others who also like both. And when you posted about your tolerance for Christians, I completed fell in love!! Yes, even though I probably don’t agree with you on everything, I agree on many issues and I respect you even when we disagree. I particularly love your dissection of trolls – you articulate the oddities so well! cheers, D

SNL skit about Scott Brown. Really funny without attacking Brown. BTW, Don Draper plays Scott Brown.
