Sarah Palin on “The Bob & Mark Show” in Alaska at 930am PST 9/16/11? UPDATE: Bob & Mark Show just playing games, Palin never intended to be on the show
UPDATE 130pm CST 9/16/11: The Bob & Mark Show and station KWHL were just playing games with this. On the show today, Bob and Mark admitted people were calling the station as early as yesterday afternoon, asking if the Governor would be on. The station deliberately played coy, telling people they’d just have to listen to find out. The way the person at the switchboard said this led people to believe there would indeed be an appearance by Governor Palin on the show today. This was picked up by Simon Conway in Iowa, another morning radio host, who blasted it out on his Facebook that Governor Palin would make an announcement today. People then used FreeRepublic.com to propagate links to that Facebook posting. I heard about all this at around 240am and put up this posting to investigate whether this was true or not. It sure sounded plausible the Governor would appear on the radio show, since she’s done that several times before. But, as you can read below, I questioned how an entry into the race today would fit with the announced GOP presidential debate schedule.
The Governor will announce when she wants to announce, in keeping with her strategy — which at some point in the future I’m sure you will look back on and see why she’s done everything she’s done. The Governor knows what she’s doing.
Bob and Mark, however, are just playing games and KWHL should know better than to enable them. I don’t know why Simon Conway did what he did, either, but it did lend some excitement to the morning listening in to see if the announcement would be made.
There is no other Republican who generates this sort of excitement, or whose potential appearance on a radio show could make people who never listen to the radio tune in on the off-chance she’ll appear.
Just imagine the explosion of excitement that will occur when she does indeed announce.

ORIGINAL POST 245am CST 9/16/11:
“The Bob & Mark Show” broadcasts out of Anchorage, Alaska, with hosts Bob and Mark on KWHL. [Click here for a link to their site, where you can listen to the broadcast LIVE! ] In the final episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” on TLC — which Governor Palin herself produced and had complete creative control over — the Governor promised to let Bob and Mark know, on the air, when she decides to run for president. Since the Governor personally chose to have that bit included in the episode, there has to be a reason for this. “The Bob and Mark Show” broadcasts Monday through Friday.
Though tomorrow is Constitution Day, today’s when Constitution Day is observed in most of the country. It’s also a day when “The Bob and Mark Show” broadcasts. Many believe the Governor will announce her presidential bid on the show today — since she appears to indeed be scheduled as a guest at 930am PST…which is 1130am CST and 1230pm EST.
I have no idea what will happen on the show, but I’m going to tune in just in case. If you hear anything else pertaining to this, please share the info in this thread. It sure is interesting the Governor is booked on this show, today of all days, since restoring respect for the Constitution is one of the main planks in what’s presumed to be the Governor’s presidential platform.
Tune into “The Bob & Mark Show” to see what happens!
********************************************************
PS: I’ve been trying for a few weeks now to determine if Governor Palin has any public events scheduled for Constitution Day (observed today, or tomorrow 9/17/11). I have not been able to turn up anything, which is intriguing in itself. We don’t know what this means yet — if anything — but I’m sure going to listen to “The Bob & Mark Show” to see if she’s really going to be on, and to listen to what the Governor says if she does in fact appear on the show.
****************************************************************
UPDATE: It looks like the source of this rumor is Simon Conway, who is a drive time radio host in Iowa, who said on Facebook that he saw something posted at a Palin supporting group about the Bob & Mark appearance before it was taken down. Conway seems like he wanted to be the first to say she was going to announce today, so he would get the attention that would come with that. Looking at the GOP schedule of debates, though, I don’t know what to think to be honest. Rick Perry loses more steam every debate, and the next debate is not until September 22nd. It sure keeps with Governor Palin’s past announcements to declare her candidacy on a symbolic day like Constitution Day…but it also seems like part of her strategy to keep allowing Perry to further implode before she joins the race. We all know the moment Governor Palin announces, she’ll be the sole focus, and guys like Perry won’t get the vetting and media attention they need as her opponents. The debate after the 22nd is in October, on a day when the Governor is scheduled to give a speech on economics in Korea.
Technically, she could fly back in time to participate in the debate, since she’d make up time on the 14 hour flight back to the States, though I don’t know if she’d be inclined to do this. It seems odd for her to participate in the September 22nd debate, but then skip the one on October 18th, and then rejoin the group a debate after that…unless her intention is to begin participating in the debates after the 18th. That would give her opponents two appearances on the stage without her to attack her, and I don’t see her allowing that to happen though.
I think even the Governor’s detractors need to admit she’s a masterful strategist who keeps everyone guessing. She really brings great excitement to American politics. Honestly, my boyfriend Justin asked what I was typing so late and I told him, and now he’s too excited to sleep and has actually woken his mother up in Arkansas to tell her to listen to this radio show. I told him not to do this, but he’s excited at the mere prospect of Governor Palin announcing today. I don’t think even Mittens Romneycare’s own family are excited by anything he does. Let alone complete strangers.
Can you imagine someone like Justin calling his mother long distance in the middle of the night, waking her up, just to tell her there’s a chance Mitt Romney could be on an obscure radio show in Alaska later that morning — and that she would be excited and happy he did this?

UPDATE: 1130am CST Trying to listen to Bob & Mark, but the little radio feature of their site won’t work. Maybe too many people are listening in. If you know of an alternate means of listening, please share. Is this station picked up on any other internet site people can listen in to?
UPDATE: 1145am CST I finally got the streaming to work, but Bob & Mark are talking about an event being held at the Anchorage Wal-Mart to benefit the Fisher House, which helps soldiers coming back from war recover and readjust to being home. There’s a raffle that’s helping the cause. It’s really nice they’re spending so much time on this cause…I give them a lot of credit because it seems like they’re big supporters of our troops. They’re taking calls now from people….and someone just called and asked if Sarah Palin is going to be on. Chris from Ohio is on now. She asked them if they’re going to have the Governor on, but they say she’s not scheduled. Todd apparently is moose hunting and they called him yesterday and he had no idea about the Governor being on. Bob & Mark is actually a very fun show…much better than morning radio here in Chicago…but I’m going to stop listening now because it’s clear the Governor will not be on.
UPDATE 1153am CST: So, there you have it. Simon Conway of Iowa drive time radio started this rumor yesterday on his Facebook page, and we investigated it, but it turns out Simon was wrong and the Governor did not in fact announce on the Bob & Mark Show 9/16/11. Tomorrow is actually Constitution Day, so perhaps something will happen then, but it’s not happening on the Bob & Mark Show today, contrary to what Simon Conway said.
UPDATE: 1210pm CST Looks like Bob & Mark are now saying Governor Palin will be calling in within the next hour. In the meantime, they’re playing some really great music, if you have nothing to listen to at work. It’s actually fun. And exciting wondering what the Governor will say when she calls in.
UPDATE: 1215pm Before they went to commercial, they said “Sarah, up next”
UPDATE: 1221pm – they’re promoting a comedy show now, and giving the menu to a restaurant, where they have different sandwiches for $9.95. You get free onion rings and fries by mentioning the Bob & Mark Show. Don’t tell Michelle Antoinette Obama though! Sarah Palin is supposed to call in any minute now.
UPDATE: 1225 while they are waiting for her call, they are playing comedy calling-in bits
UPDATE: 1227pm Now they’re saying to someone named April Weatherwood that Governor Palin will not be on the show. [ I think this was recorded earlier though ]. April also said that she called the station’s switchboard yesterday and they said for her to listen in at 1030am CST.
UPDATE: 1230pm CST, where I’m from in Cleveland, the morning radio show people played games all the time…so I honestly have no idea what’s going on or if the Governor really is calling in. They might just be trying to keep people listening as much as possible, as I bet they’re getting great ratings numbers off this.
UPDATE: 1232pm Now they are playing some kind of hockey song about being a badass in the wild, wild west.
UPDATE: They say that in just a matter of moments Governor Palin is calling in.
UPDATE: 1234pm CST — they have a man pretending to be Sarah Palin, talking about doing a 5 mile run. Then they start playing the 80s song “Sarah”. And then they start playing some kind of country music song about a guy divorcing his wife, the song is “I Pray For You”.
UPDATE: 1238pm They’re taking a break again…and not mentioning Governor Palin again…it’s very strange how they are going back and forth like this. I think they are just playing games. Now they’re talking about Toyota trucks at some dealership.
UPDATE: 1242pm CST It’s fun listening to the Alaskan commercials, but I think Bob & Mark are playing games.
UPDATE: 1247pm a young girl in North Carolina said she called into the station yesterday and asked if Governor Palin was going to call in today, and the station wouldn’t tell her either way. Bob & Mark then said that when Governor Palin DOES announce, she will do it on their show, but now they are implying she won’t call in today.
UPDATE: 100pm CST The Bob & Mark Show was just playing games. Governor Palin had never agreed to be on. This was just morning show radio “hijinks”.

GREAT POST, Kevin! Here are my observations:
1 – If Governor Palin **does** go on the Bob & Mark show — and I think that she will — it will be BEFORE Rush’s show begins, at 9 am PST. Bob & Mark’s show starts at 6:35 am PST, so her announcement need not “compete” with Rush.
2 – The long-term value of having her announcement be on “CONSTITUTION DAY” — one of the major themes of her campaign — outweighs any short-term advantages of waiting, like extending the Perry–vetting process, etc.
3 – With regard to the “debates” — she needs to go on the offensive right out of the gate — and CHALLENGE the left-wing media’s attempt to control the GOP race, perhaps by proposing an ALTERNATIVE to their “debates.”
I don't think she will announce today…. but if she does, how sweet it'll be to wake-up, sign onto the net and read "She's In"!!!!!
Hello Kevin — I wouldn't think much about this but I know the financial person from SarahPac put out a request for donations last weekend. Given that donations to SarahPac are less constrained than those once Sarah declares, it may well be that she announces today.
If she does announce, I wouldn't be surprised if she holds off participating in debates until after October 18, considering there would still be two remaining in 2011 and at least one prior to the Iowa caucus.
I'll be watching this space at the time given, seeing that I'll still be awake over here on the other side of the Big Pond.
I'm in no position to speculate about what Sarah Palin will say or if she'll announce, but from Kevin's always excellent analyses, I'd hazard the guess that she might say something along the lines that her announcement will be formally made on September xxth.
On the other hand, Sept xxth may be today …
Meanwhile, I'll drink some Valerian tea.
Can you imagine Mittens using Jimmy Carter's endorsement? I hope she announces today. What will FNC do?
Think about it, a 12:30 announcement EST is when Rush is on. I wonder if this is timed to have Rush pick it up and have it broadcast live as Rush always says his microphones are everywhere. Sarah said you won't be able to miss the announcement and who is bigger than Rush!
This is my dream of how Sarah should announce her run for President. She will, as promised announce it on Bob & Mark’s radio show (KWHL, Anchorage, Alaska, 106.5) There she will announce that her formal announcement will be from the North Slope. The time will be future, details to follow, but to be fair to all journalists to prepare, she will give them twice the time congress has been given to read thru a 2000 page bill.
At the North Slope the conditions are ideal. The mosquitos are larger than ever, and the water puddles on top of the frozen sandbars teem with larvae. She will give an environmental speech for about three hours after which the journalists still alive will be given the opportunity to ask questions. Sounds good to me. What do you think?
My original dream was posted on http://everestlancaster.wordpress.com/2011/07/04/…
She may not announce today, but this is well within the timeframe that she stipulated a month ago, that any serious candidate "…would have to be announced by sometime around the end of August to mid-September." Prepare for the earthquake if she does! Get yer popcorn ready. Run, Sarah, RUN!!!
How sweet that would be! Go Sarah!!!
re:
“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” on TLC — which Governor Palin herself produced and had complete creative control over"
What is your source for that? Everything I have seen and heard is contrary to that. According Stephen K Bannon, Sarah had not part in producing or editing. He never even talked with her until after the film was made and he invited the Palins to a rough screening.
Sarah Palin's Alaska is a TV special – Stephen Bannon made the movie about Sarah called " The Undefeated", and she had no involvment in his movie.
Standing,
you are confusing Sarah Palin's Alaska (the series on TLC) with "The Undefeated" (the movie by S. Bannon).
You seem to be confusing Mr. Bannon's documentary, "The Undefeated", with the TLC TV series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska". They are completely unrelated and dissimilar productions. The comment by Mr. Bannon is true, but only as regards his film, not the TLC series.
Stephen Bannon's movie is "Undefeated" – the TLC show is different
I am hoping she runs too! Cannot wait to volunteer for her for the first time in my life!
I think you are confusing Sarah Palin's Alaska, a mini-series on TLC a year or so ago, with "Undefeated" the film documentary that recently was released in theaters, made by Bannon.
tweet from @DosMasCervezas
Bob & Mark just said that if @SarahPalinUSA is on their show today, "it would be a surprise to us."

Thats what the palins are all about is suprise…!
We did not start to be frightened by a few gangsters, so-called republican commentators, Jimmy Carter's friends in antisemitism, corrupt fakes and aGore-chairman in Texas – first of all not by an America- hating president..
It is more difficult? Than what? Let's give more work, more money, more enthusiasm.
RUN SARAH RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For America, please RUN! TOM
We did not start it, to be frightened by rented gangsters, the original Carter antisemitism, Gore-chairman in Texas, so-called republican commentators, the America-hater muslim-lover in the WH. For our America: RUN SARAH RUN!!!!!
Here's hoping………..Palin 2012.
Sarah Palin For USA President 2013 – 2021….
I'm tuning in just in case. I would kick myself around the block if I missed anything from Sarah.
Please! Run, Sarah, Run!
Can't get it to load. But fingers crossed.
Apparently they mentioned her earlier, said she was not 'scheduled' to be there, but that she could always show up downstairs and they would let her in. Some people reported that the hosts called Todd and asked about the rumor and he said he had no idea, and that he was moose-hunting. I didn't hear any of this, I'm listening to Rush. I got this from one of the many FreeRepublic threads on the subject. I find it hilarious that I have now seen 3-4 threads that point to this one, when it was one of their threads that I saw last night and sent Kevin that had the beginning of the rumors.
I'm missing Rush!!! WaaaWaaa! Only for the possibility of hearing Sarah would I give up Rush.
OMGosh!!!!! They just announced they are expecting a call from Sarah within the next hour!!!!!!
Did they really say that, as in meaning that, or were they joking?
Sounded serious to me.
Kevin, I really think this was a serious statement. They probably realize people are listening from all over the country (world) and didn't want to string them along.
They also said they have been getting calls from the national media since yesterday when this started.
Sarah…….simply brilliant.
Bob and Mark just announced Sarah will be calling in within the next hour.
Bob and Mark also mentioned they have been receiving calls from the national media since yesterday about the possibility that Sarah Palin will be on.
Our Sarah………..simply brilliant.
Aaand – this would get onto the National evening TV news here in the UK, and catch the headlines in tomorrow's papers!
Omigawd – I'm not a US citizen, but I'm getting goosebumps here!
Bob and Mark just announced Sarah is coming up next.
"Just received confirmation that Sarah will be calling in, coming up next". Then they went to a break.
I am so obsessed.
OMG SO EXCITING!!! Fingers crossed!
"Coming up next" must have a different meaning to Bob and Mark. They are now taking calls. BUT, they did just say Sarah is calling in in just a second. I wonder what "a second" means to them?
I'm gonna be one hot mama grizzly if they are stringing us along with this idle chit chat.
Update: They just told a caller from Texas that Sarah has no plans to be on the show today. When they hung up the phone they said Sarah will be calling in shortly. Who knows what is going on with these two?
Don't think its going to happen today.
But its fun. I can wait. It's up to Sarah.
Kevin, I just noticed you are updating on your OP. I'll shut up now.
She said that when she announces you won't be able to miss it. So seriously doubt Mrs. P is going to announce out of the blue. Plus she has a scheduled upcoming event that gets a big “Hmmm”. On Oct 7th she is scheduled at Glen Beck’s Defending the Republic event in Missouri. So I think the following things will happen first:
1.) She will announce her resignation from Fox News (end of September?), thanking them for the opportunity to speak directly to the American people on current issues and she will end with the cryptic "But it is time for me to move on to other opportunities". This would be like a MOAB dropped into the race, sucking out all the oxygen. Everyone in the political media would be fanatically shifting the tea leaves and saying to themselves "What does it mean? What does it mean?" The frenzied speculation continues for days. Mitt who? What's the governor of Texas' name again? Isn’t there's a Congresswoman running for President?
2) A few days or week later she shows up in The Bus in South Carolina for a weekend tour of the historical sites. She did say she would be going there in the bus, and she keeps her word. While there she visits a very important Revolutionary War battle site in SC: Cowpens. She then goes across the border into North Carolina to visit Kings Mountain, where an O4Palin event has been hastily organized. Before the small crowd she gives a speech highlighting the importance of the battles in the Carolinas in the ultimate victory over the British, tying in the theme that small victories lead to bigger ones. The Battle of Kings Mountain was a decisive Patriot victory over the Loyalist militias. It is the battle that turned around the Revolutionary War in the South and set in motion the victory at Cowpens, which then set in motion the victory at Yorktown. Theodore Roosevelt wrote of Kings Mountain, "This brilliant victory marked the turning point of the American Revolution." Thomas Jefferson called it, "The turn of the tide of success." The date of The Battle of Kings Mountain? October 7th. The very day the she is scheduled to make a speech at the Defending the Republic event. Only one media group is thrown the bone to be at the event at Kings Mountain, CNN, which carries the speech live. More oxygen sucked out of the air and more media frenzied "What does it mean? What does it mean?"
3) On the morning of the 7th she calls in The Bob & Mark Show, inviting them to do a live broadcast from Wasilla on the 14th. “What’s going to happen on the 14th, Sarah?” “You will just have to be there to see.” She then gives her speech at Beck’s event, recalling her trip to the Carolinas and once again highlighting the struggles of the Revolutionary War, how not to lose faith even in the darkest of days and how little victories lead to bigger ones. She announces at the end of her speech that she will have a press conference at her home in Wasilla on the 14th. A thermonuclear warhead has just been set off. Shock and awe to the nth degree. Life on the planet is endangered so much oxygen has just been suddenly sucked out. The “What does it mean? What does it mean?” media speculation reaches an all new height.
4) The 14th arrives and Sarah steps out before the assembled media crowd and thousands of supporters. Why the 14th? Oh, for no other reason than these two:
Battle of Byland – 1322 – Robert the Bruce of Scotland defeats King Edward II of England, winning Scotland's independence
1st Continental Congress declares Colonial Rights – 1774
Oh, and another reason to announce on the 14th? Only was a very important day in 1066. The Battle of Hastings; the end of Saxon rule in England, the Norman Conquest and all that.
And on the 14th day of October 2011 Sarah Louise Heath Palin announces her candidacy for the Presidency of the United States. It will be glorious day.

You know, I usally laugh at stupid tricks like today. But this is a serious time in our nation and those unemployed and on the verge of losing their homes are not laughing. This was just a really sick joke, and honestly, I think these guys will do nothing for Sarah if she announces on their show….do they even respect her?
I'm now officially cross – very cross!
That was not a good thing to do, Bob & Mark.
That's too bad. I think this hurts her. Wish they hadn't done it. She is getting enough bad press about the 'delay' – no one seems to think it is too late for Hillary to jump in, but sarah gets criticized, and this just adds to that meme.
Yes – I AM looking forward to her announcement – got my GAME ON! stickers and buttons yesterday. Let's ROLL!
I have had it on for 15 minutes and all I have heard is music. I can only imagine they are scrambling/praying that she'll call in.
Fool me once shame on you.
Fool me twice shame on me.
I will not be torturing myselft with B&M again, regardless.
I’d rather just hear of her announcement through the internet.
I, also, think this plays into the narrative that she is not serious.
Bad move by her 'friends' Bob & Mark.
I also don't like them playing with her supporters!
Just another stupid radio tactic. I hope Sarah doesn't count those two as friends.
Maybe Nov 13th will be the date. That is the date Reagan announced in 1979.
Whenever…… it will be on her terms and schedule. And I will be there waiting.
BAM has shown themselves to be more of the Lame Stream Media. I listened in for about two hours. What they did was flat out lie about Sarah. I hope she treats them the same way she treats others in the LSM. They have been exposed as frauds. This IS serious business and to fool around with this means that they do not deserve to be the first to hear her declare.
Bummer – is there any way to get whitelisted? So comments can flow a little faster?
Run, Sarah, Run!
It is NOT “a fun show”. It’s annoying 6th-grade-boy snark. You know – the ones that think they’re funny, talk really fast, say things that are marginally understandable, make jokes that you couldn’t possibly get if you didn’t know specifically what they’re referencing.
The show’s website is a skanky Chilkoot Charlie’s T&A show. They don’t post photos of anyone other than scantily-dressed early-20s women with boobs hanging out.
And these men are nothing to look at. Ugly fat bald middle-aged stupid white men. No personality, no charm, not funny and ugly to boot. It just doesn’t get worse than that.
No one listens to these men. I don’t know why radio station management imagines someone does.
