Same Old Same Old

Posted on January 25, 2012 by TheTamminator // Hillbuzz

Does President Obama think that if he just repeats it enough times that it will miraculously happen?

h/t Ed Morrissey at HotAir for taking the time to list the phrases Obama repeats from year to year, never accomplishing anything that matters to the American people.

  1. The State of the Union is strong.
  2. Applause.
  3. It’s stronger because I’m up here and you’re not.
  4. Applause.
  5. Attack the Supreme Court [Obama only].
  6. Here’s why my political party is awesome.
  7. Applause from one side of room.
  8. Here’s why the other party is a bunch of doody-heads.
  9. Applause from the same side of the room.
  10. Here’s a program I want you to pass.
  11. Applause.
  12. Here’s an Ordinary Average Guy whose story should convince you to pass my program.
  13. Television shot of Ordinary Average Guy.
  14. Applause.
  15. Repeat steps 6-14 about 874 times.
  16. Here’s a couple more reasons why I’m awesome.
  17. Applause.
  18. Opposition party then offers this in response (language warning):

Considering that empty platitudes are what got him elected the first time, why wouldn't he resort to them now? What grinds me is that the electorate is stupid enough to buy into them! Of course, I am also greatly dismayed that the Republican Party cannot field a candidate who is awesome and conservative and assured to take Obama down! Honestly, their backup plan is Mitch Daniels????? Didn't he drop out of the running early because he did't have enough support?

Actually, Daniels didn't get into the race because of a soap-operalike family issue (his wife flaked out and went to another man's bed to 'find herself", left him to raise his children as a single dad, then came back when this relationship bit the dust.) He also really isn't a politician – the state employees of Indiana HATE him because he did make government work more like a private business and he now supports making Indiana a right-to-work state, which will cut the legs out from under SEIU. I think he also ruffled more than a few RINO feathers when G W Bush made him the head of the OMB. Daniels has made it clear that he has no ambition to be in public office again – ever.

And, Hillary couldn't gush and praise him enough. I don't know how she tolerates him.

I was just going to post that Lynn.

“…. Tau of Politico reports “President Obama’s 2012 State of the Union address again rated at an 8th grade comprehension level on the Flesch-Kincaid readability test — the third LOWEST score of any State of the Union address since 1934.”

Eric Ostermeier of the University of Minnesota’s Smart Politics initiative conducted an analysis on the last 70 State of the Union addresses and found that President Obama’s three addresses have the LOWEST grade average…”

DGinGA, I have just decided that also.

The Dictatorcrat Party is running the identical campaign they did in 2008.

If nothing else, Obama may be dumbing his State of the Union address down to the level at which his supporters can grasp what he is saying. Think about Obama's world view ("I'm wonderful and beyond questioning and you have to learn that or suffer the consequences") and then realize that his inherent narcissism causes him to communicate with "the unwashed masses" in a childlike, patronizing manner. If he respected his audience, it might improve his scores just a tad.
