Ron Paul Wins Yet Another GOP Straw Poll; Media Too Busy Destroying Herman Cain to Notice

In the past five days, the Democrat-controlled media has given GOP Frontrunner Herman Cain more scrutiny than they have given Barack Hussein Obama over the past five years, much of which is disgustingly, overtly bigoted.
Since there is a paucity of actual, you know, facts to report, or alleged sexual harassment victims to interview, the DCM has taken to speculating, then interviewing each other about their speculations.
Their gleeful personal destruction of a conservative black man hasn’t given them much time to, you know, report any news.
So when GOP Frontrunner Ron Paul won his 15th straw poll vote of the 2012 election season this week, the only media outlet to report it was a local radio station in Central Illinois. A total of 426 students from ISU, Heartland Community College, Lincoln College-Normal, and Illinois Wesleyan University participated, 93% of whom plan to vote in the general election.
If local college students had their way, the 2012 race would be between President Barack Obama and Republican U.S. Rep. Ron Paul. [...]
The GOP part of the poll was won by Paul, a Texas Republican, who took 35 percent of the vote. Next were former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (19 percent) and businessman Herman Cain (16 percent).
ISU professor Steve Hunt said it’s no surprise. He said Paul’s message – from economics to an antiwar foreign policy – resonates with young voters.
“He talks about issues that they’re concerned about, whether it’s student loan debt that they’re facing, the cost of college, the issues with unemployment,” Hunt said. “But he also talks about, generally, the idea that government shouldn’t be in your business.”
Back in the day, when Barack Hussein Obama was running for president, straw polls were seen as an important early indication of support for a candidate from the most politically active members of a community or political party. After all, to vote in a straw poll, you first have to find out about the poll. Since they’re not highly publicized, you have to be pretty plugged in to politics to hear about one. Then, you actually have to leave the house (sometimes in bad weather), and pay money to participate. It requires a much higher degree of commitment and involvement that merely voting in a primary (which is free and highly publicized.)
But once GOP Frontrunner Ron Paul started winning straw polls, they suddenly lost all significance as far as the Democrat-controlled media is concerned. When Ron Paul wins a straw poll, it’s “rigged” or “fixed,” or the ballot box was “stuffed.”
You see, winning a straw poll is only newsworthy when Mittens Romneycare or Barack Hussein Obama does it. Otherwise, it’s a “fluke.”
So when GOP Frontrunner Ron Paul won his 15th straw poll this week, the Democrat-controlled media decided that reporting 12-year-old rumors about an uppity black conservative was more important than reporting actual, current facts about Ron Paul.
Perhaps this is why a Gallup poll, released last week, found that 55 percent of Americans surveyed have little or no trust of the journalists who report the news, and 60 percent of Americans see a noticeable bias in their news coverage.

Ron Paul 2012!
I lack graphics skills, but this story (Thank You, BTW) has me picturing a Grinch-media wondering what it can do to stop the arrival of Christmas-RonPaul. The press gives him no fantootlers, yet Ron Paul keeps coming!
Because Ron Paul, like Alan Keyes before him ran for president over and over again and never got the nomination. Herman Cain is the flavor of the month. When he does not wins a single primary in 2012 he will be in Gulliani-Ron Paul-Fred Thompson territory.
I believe the only people that can win the nomination are the ones in 3rd , 4th and 5th place right now. The only way Cain wins Iowa is white guilt and the only way Romney wins Iowa is that Evangelicals stopped being Christian conservatives.
White guilt took Obama to the White House and White Guilt could take Cain to Tampa 2012.
This is his third time running and only the second time in over 20 years. How is this considered "over and over again?"
I don't know who is more dumb and unAmerican, Ron Paul or the idiots that keep electing this axx to Congress. The man just opposed the "In God We Trust" bill. Paul needs to disappear.
You know, CJ, I’m so glad you’re back to bashing Ron Paul, now that you’ve destroyed every shred of credibility you ever possessed on Hillbuzz with your vicious personal attacks against Sarah Palin and Herman Cain. Keep up the great work!
I, for one, don’t give a sh*t about a meaningless bill that will do nothing–zero–nada to stop out-of-control federal spending; onerous, stop job-killing regulations; stop illegal, unconstitutional, undeclared foreign wars; bring home the troops; stop the further debasement of the dollar; audit the Federal Reserve, secure the border, or repeal Obamacare. Any legislation that doesn’t do any of those things is a complete waste of time. It’s all fiddling while Rome burns.
Maybe this is gonna sound dumb HB and Kathleen, but don't we usually weed out these trolls for public ridicule on a daily basis. I mean, its fun to point out all the logical (and other) flaws in any given Carmello Junior posts, but hasn't he violated several of the commenting rules in the bulk of his posts?
We already have enough reminders of the left's coarseness, ugliness, and inability to logically work through a problem. Do we really need to enable it?
I dislike Ron Paul for his opportunism of running as Republican being a Libertarian. This man has no principles. He is getting his Congressional pay check on a fraudulent party afilliation.
I dislike Herman Cain because this man is another opportunist. This man was nowhere to be found in 2008 except for supporting RomneyCare. But he is free to run for president not having ANY executive-elective-command office experience. He is free to use the Race Card to get noticed in the primaries. This man NEVER defended social conservative issues, NEVER. He has NO RECORD as conservative whatsoever.
This man is paving the way for Romney because he never, I repeat, NEVER attack RomneyCare or this flip flopper abortionist. RomneyCare is looking strong with noone ever dare to attack him, not even Sarah Palin who decided she will be a cheerleader and doing the job the establishment told her to do: kingsmaker.
Historically all of his views are long held traditions of the republican party. The only difference is that he will actually act on them and not just give them lip service. You are bashing him for not acting like republican leadership in their ploy to be just like the democrats. Yes he has a belief in liberty, But So do I, and so does anyone who can truly call themselves a patriot.
Fool, you have no clue. A true Conservative is a libertarian. The last true Conservative who ran for president was Goldwater and unfortunately he lost. Ron Paul has the highest principals that we could ever hope for in a President. You are so misinformed or purposely being an idiot and I believe it may be the latter. Vote for a neocon if you so desire but don't you dare attack a man of strong character that is the only one running that can save this country and stop the corruption in the White House and in Congress!
I believe the word you are looking for is obtuse.
Carmelo, the reason why Ron Paul reluctantly returned to the Republican Party was because the two parties have monopolized the system to not allow other parties to gain in popularity. The Republican party establishment doesn't even like him because he opposes their big govt agenda and unconstitutional warmongering. This is why they support and fund another big govt Republican to oppose him in the primary for his seat. To label him an oppurtunist is beyond ignorant.
Wow Carmelo Jr. do you ever think before you speak. Ron Paul is the only true conservative left in congress. I have been a dem. for 35 years and he is the only Rep. that I would vote for. And I will not vote for Obama even if I have to write in Ron Paul I will vote for him for Pres. I will waste little time with you cj because a closed mind is a useless mind and they get no more useless than yours.
RON PAUL 2012
Ron Paul joined the (gawd awful) Republican party because the Libertarian party is ostracized by the media and by a public that lacks the intelligence to understand what libertarianism is all about. Accordingly the only viable platform for his views is through one of the two identical parties. Thanks to his membership and standing in the party he has been given a place in the debates and the public is beginning to notice. Had he stayed in the Libertarian party– he would have remained unknown and unelectable.
The Republican party as it used to be (about 90 years ago) was more aligned with libertarian values than the Democrats so the choice was obvious. Call it opportunism if you must but I call it astute practicality– embracing Satan to defeat him.
Whats the big deal CJ If you look @ the debates all the so called true republicans (as you say) act like little children. Dr.Paul "I beleive" Is the ONLY person that gives a hoot about our country. Open your eyes fella , screw the party lines . Look at the person
What is fraudulent is the the political party system, and you have fallen for it…. Ron Paul is doing the right thing…
You do realize that Ron Paul keeps NONE of his congressional pay. He gives it ALL to the US Treasury. He also refuses to take part in the Congressional pension fund.
So STFU. You obviously don't know what you are talking about.
I think Kevin keeps CJ around for entertainment purposes (I have to admit, it's fun to watch him make a fool of himself), but I will point out your concerns to Kevin.
Again Ron Paul demonstrates his conviction that the states should steer their own destiny based on the rule of law the people of that state dictate. Ron Paul is totally in favor of the "In God We Trust" but would live in a state that would endorse the slogan. When are we going to return to the rule of law under the constitution? Ron Paul 2012.
Ron Paul is dumb because he supports Constitutionally limited government and personal freedom?
Yeah, it's real American to want others to disappear simply because they may not agree with your religious or political agenda. Grow up.
And what do you support ? JH ??? Tell us. You sound like a government worker that will be axed under Dr. Paul
Listen Junior the reason Paul said he opposes this bill is not because he is anti-religion or whatever your trying to get at. He opposes it because once again the federal government is over stepping the boundaries that are outlined for them in THE CONSTITUTION. I'm not sure if you've herd of this little document, but maybe you should give it a read.
I suppose you are talking about Congressman Kline's bill to reaffirm the motto of the US and put "in God we trust" on public buildings. That is pure pandering and window dressing. Congress men and women have a sworn duty to uphold the Constitution. They should focus on that. Your relationship with God is your business. Congress men and women should faithfully execute their duties to the people of the united States. when a Congress man or woman keeps his oath, that honors God. Breaking the oath dishonors God and putting a slogan on a building is just hypocrisy if you break your oath of office.
Carmelo. Do you subsribe to the Constitution? Do you really know what he stands for? Can you think for yourself? He is trying to tell what the roll of the government is supposed to be not what you think it should be, The rule of law. Not lawlessness. I personally have spent three and one half million dollars in last seven and one half years trying to educate people thru a radio network. Some would much rather stay ignorant than discover how ignorant they truely are. Try republicbroadcasting.org and inform yourself. Please. The hour is very late.
Are you capable of free-thinking? There's an ever increasing number of Americans who are skeptical of the existence, and typical definition of "god". To create a bill that would separate Americans along religious lines is the last thing we need. Government sponsored religion is a tool of there's to gain the public's obedience by the way. Matthew 22:21; Romans 13:1 Obey the laws of the land, bitch.
You base your intellect on what? How about backing up this idea that Ron Paul is an idiot? I have seen enough idiot play out of Cain, Perry, Romney, and Bachman to last a lifetime! Even Gingrich is a joke. The only real choice is left standing and he shines out, not out of cute little cliche remarks or cute little temper tantrums, but in substance. It becomes extremely clear who needs to win the presidence, and where are you in this? Caught up in the cuteness of idiots, calling the only choice for America an idiot? Something wrong with your eyesight dude. Get some glasses!
As I recall Jesus says that money is Caesars, not HIs.
The fact that a large contingent of college students wants Ron Paul to be president gives me hope for the future of our republic. This tells me our young people are utilizing their brains and not allowing themselves to be brainwashed by their liberal professors.
Ron Paul or no one at all!
How about frig the rest we want the best?
Ron Paul 2012!!!!
Here's a toast to "President Cain" – a real American man!
Not going to happen.
Good name ! You sure are buttered (hehe)
Ron Paul is the only candidate who will take a stand against our oversized government, the Federal Reserve, and the wars. Let's restore our Constitution, before it is too late!
Kathleen, I like the way you write. It's conversational, with emphasis in the right places, and you provide relevant links. Oh…and the mild cynicism – haha! I love it!
MILD cynicism? Crap, I’m slipping. Thanks for the heads-up.
And sincerely, thanks for the compliment. I very much appreciate it.
College students like pizza, but they don't like Herman Cain.
In a recent survey his pizzas ranked the lowest. So maybe if he made better za he would have a chance? Nah!
Get our and vote young voters. You gave Obama a chance. Now give Ron Paul a chance
Amazing!
Real news gets ignored, and contrived "Cain Sex" gets top billing….that is why watching the news is a huge, fattening, waste of precious time.
Seems like the more the Media ignores Ron Paul, the more the citizens realize he's the right candidate to be President! So, please keep ignoring him!
Carmelo Junior
White guilt for what? Whites are not guilty of anything race related. That said, someone stole my Ron Paul for President 2012 yard sign I placed 10 feet off the side of Lincoln Ave in Skokie Illinois. I placed it there on Tuesday and it was gone by Thursday . Ron Paul for Pres 20NOW
Citizens have to register repub is some places in order to vote for RP..
I came across Lew Rockwell's site about 12 years ago or so and that was the first time I read anything by Dr. Paul. I started reading every speech and article that he wrote. It didn't take me long to understand why he was correct and why the other politicians were failing so badly.
The problem Ron Paul will always have is that we live in a soundbite world. Most people will not take the time to actually read all of his policies and why as a whole they will work. Picked apart they seem extreme. However, once you see how they work together, that's when the lightbuld goes on.
Far too many people simply wish to be told what to think and what lines to parrot.
My God People! We have one last chance to vote for a real American with real American principles, not some pre-fab corperate idiot like we have now! Have we gotten so far off our course as a nation that real American ideas seem foreign? All of the GOP except Ron Paul works for the Corps (the 1%). Obama is corporate wall streets stooge, Just look at the bail outs he gave, our Police state of affairs. ect. No other candidate will change anything But the good Dr.!!! Ron Paul, for Peace, Freedom and Liberty, Not just mere words ! Ron Paul 2012!! before we wake up in the USSR of Amerika
Amen brother ! Well said
There are only two candidates running for the nomination with only two platforms. The two candidates are Ron Paul and and the other candidates and the two platforms are less government and more government.. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out whom to support.
Ron Paul2012! End the Fed!
Why do you constantly refer to the media as Democatic controlled? The media is totally controlled by the corporations and those with an agenda. You are underminding your own creditliby as people are not that stupid as you reported, especially the younger set. Come off the divisive terminology, there is too much at stake here.
You’re right, “Claudia.” Too much is at stake here to let operatives and trolls control the dialog.
I refer to them as the Democrat-Controlled Media because about 90% of Washington political reporters and editors self-identify as Democrats. Here’s some homework reading for you:
Daily Caller: Obama, Democrats got 88 percent of 2008 contributions by TV network execs, writers, reporters
Media Research Center: Media Bias Basics – How The Media Vote (Hint: It ain’t for Republicans)
MSNBC: Journalists dole out cash to politicians (quietly)
You’re welcome,
Kathleen
Herman Cain is promoted as a conservative businessman, and lauded as the former chairman and CEO of Godfather's Pizza from 1986 to 1996.
But there is little notice of his concurrent occupation during this time; deputy chairman of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City from 1992 to 1994, and chairman from 1995 to 1996.
We are in a time of enlightenment regarding the Federal Reserve, a for-profit private banking cartel masquerading as a federal agency. We are learning that half of our $15 trillion debt is owed to this private banking cartel. We are learning that the Fed is the purposeful creator of booms and busts, bubbles and major Bankster enrichment through tax payer funded bailouts for their closest cronies.
The accusations of sexual predation on lowly employees based on his positions of power, replete with $35000 hush money payoffs should become a mere footnote to the fact that he once was, and always will be, deeply connected to the den of vipers that have financially ruined millions of hard working Americans.
Herman Cain = Alan Greenspan.
Herman Cain = Ben Bernanke.
What more needs to be said?
All of this is very interesting, and sort of fun, really. I'm an RP supporter, since the 2008 campaign, and while I am realistic about his chances (not very good) of attaining the GOP nomination because I believe it is a rigged, largely predetermined 'contest'….I love the fact that Congressman Paul's message is getting out, that his integrity and intelligence is winning converts. I haven't entirely given up, and I'll keep donating and arguing with friends and relatives to convince them to listen to Dr. Paul.
Yes, Ron Paul is popular with college students…..because by and large they are informed of the issues. Ron Paul is popular with all informed voters, which is why is probably won't win………the average voter in this country is about as informed as mushroom in a manure patch.
And besides moaning on the Interwebs, Wes, what are you doing to inform voters?
All:
Paul stays on message and comitted to smaller
central government. As a 55 yr old, I’m
very encouraged he’s resonating with younger
voters.
Ron Paul is consistent and that’s a “breath
of fresh air” when one considers the corporate
nature of the rest of the GOP field.
Ron Paul in 2012 for a return to the form
freedom balance under U.S. Constitutional
principals that we’ve all benefitted from and
our forebearers fought so vigilantly to protect
from corporatists, fascists, socialists,and
foreign interests anathema to true liberty
and this grand American experiment in
self governance under Natural Law.
Herman Cain = Alan Greenspan.
Herman Cain = Ben Bernanke.
Understood. Plain & simple whatever else about Cain is immaterial. Cain is part of the problem.
Cain is not ABLE to separate himself from the FED or his brothers from another mother – the Kochs. The Kochs are now in trouble for selling Iran arms, much like the Israelis did during the Iran/Contra which should have called the Iran/Israel scandal. Does anyone find it strange that Zionists are on one hand selling Iran stuff and other the other hand calling for a war against Iran? Cain is such a puppet he goes right along with the script.
Would Ron Paul be this corrupt or stupid? I don't think so.
Ron Paul 2012 is the only hope
Ron Paul is clearly the best candidate to save America. The status quo just wont get behind him because he will reduce their revenue by ending the wars and cutting taxes.
