RESEARCH NEEDED: The Elizabeth K. Christie Foundation for the Cultivation and Protection of BoyToys, and its impact on the Illinois GOP

Posted on July 30, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

This weekend, we’ve booked two interviews about the growing scandal in the Illinois GOP, involving Cook County GOP Chair Lee Roupas and a coverup he was engaged in.

One reporter is from a national print magazine, and the other is a local Chicago paper.  Both reporters are very interested in why the GOP has allowed one woman, multimillionaire cougar Beth Christie, to cause so much chaos in the state by dictating hiring and operations decisions for the Cook County Republican party.

One woman…limitless cash reserves…and possibly an intention to take down the GOP from within, by making sure inept, corrupt, time bombs waiting to explode are installed in key positions in the party.

That’s one theory we heard yesterday that’s worth looking into:  could Beth Christie really be a Democrat in disguise, a Trojan donkey, doing the things she does to weaken the GOP by making sure people like Lee Roupas and “The Prophet” are retained in their positions, despite the damage they do to the party.

We doubt Christie’s a flavor of Evelyn Salt, and think she’s just a sad cougar who’s never heard of Craigslist or Rentboy, but it’s sure an interesting theory.

What IF Democrats decided to give the Republicans large donations, in states where Republicans are hurting for money…and what if the Democrats making those donations were then given de facto operational control of the GOP in those states, since the quid pro quo from their donations would allow them to staff those GOP offices with whomever they wanted.  “I gave you all that money.  Now, hire Cuddles, and no matter what Cuddles does, you can’t fire him.  You can’t fire his friend Lee either, and if you do, then I’m gonna stop writing my checks, see?  My lady cha-cha’s got a whole mess of zeroes after it, and if cha-cha’s not happy, then she talks to the hand and the hand says no more signatures on all those beautiful checks of mine”.

Reporters are generally very lazy.

If you think there’s really a Daily Planet office staffed with hundreds of people scurrying around to get all the backstory ready for Lois and Clark, you are dreaming.  Most “journalists” work at home or from laptopsp these days.  They have no staff. They do all of their own research, and if the research is boring or time-consuming, they just give up.

One reporter we talked to last night said he is “about 16 hours behind where I need to be on three stories”, which means he doesn’t have the time or energy to really dig deep enough.

That explainns JournoList to an extent as well:  all of those Leftists on that site were lazy to a degree, and used each other’s ideas and bits of information to craft their own stories.  The hive accomplished what each little hornet couldn’t on its own.

We want The Elizabeth K. Christie Foundation’s full influence and impact on the Illinois GOP documented and exposed — and Beth Christie’s days of calling the shots in Cook County to come to an abrupt and permanent end.

To achieve this, we need to do the research the “real reporters” out there can’t, or won’t do.

We need to pull the financial records for the following, using any access to LexisNexis or other search engines you may have:

(1) The Elizabeth K. Christie Foundation’s donations in the last two years

(2) The Illinois GOP’s revenue stream for the last two years

(3) The Cook County GOP’s revenue stream for the last two years

(4) The Chicago Young Republican social networking club’s revenue stream for the last two years

Once we have the data, we need those of you who are good at puzzle solving and chart-making to put together an easy-to-understand visiual representation of these relationships.

Who, besides Beth Christie, is a large donor to the Illinois GOP?

Are those people wielding cougar-grade influence on the party as well? If so, what games are they up to, and what are their agendas?

Could Beth Christie really be a Democrat operative/double agent working to take down the Illinois GOP from within by funding the cultivation and protection of incompentents the Democrats know will make terrible decisions throughout their political careers…and thus keep the GOP in Illinois mired in incompetence permanently?

Anything you could help dig up, and post in this thread, will help immensely in our meetings with reporters this weekend.

We have no intention of letting any of this go so long as Lee Roupas is Cook County GOP Chair and Beth Christie is allowed to buy her ticket to call the shots in the Republican party here in Illinois.

With Democrats so corrupt and hellbent on tanking this state, and the country, it’s time someone stood up to multimillionaire cougars and stopped whatever games they have been playing so grown-ups can lead the GOP here in Illinois again.

Since “real reporters” are too lazy, and actual GOP officials in the state don’t really seem to WANT to improve their chances of someday making this a red state, we guess all of this is for some reason up to us.

If you don’t want to post what you find in this thread, please email it to us at @gmail.com">HillBuzz@gmail.com

Come on get involved, there’s a mystery to solve.

That’s an interesting theory. The thought did occur to me briefly when I first heard about her. Might be interesting to see what her voting records look like.

    • Old Crank says:
      2010/07/30 at 6:36 am

Surely there are no records of how a person votes. Please don’t tell me that is possible!

      • Solaratov says:
        2010/07/30 at 12:14 pm

Only a record of what they registered as.

There’s probably a record, too, of whether they voted in a dem. or rep. primary in states that don’t have open primaries.

    Jeremy Rose RESIGNED! Tuesday night.
Was this mentioned here before? How did I MISS it?
    http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/publius-forum/2010/07/sex-harassment-scandal-in-cook-county-gop-sees-resignation-of-political-director-rose.html

And then this, from the Huff’nPuff (there’s more than a passing nod to Hillbuzz):

Yes, this was mentioned. I would suspect it wasn’t dwelt on because what Rose did is no longer the main story. The story that needs to be exposed (as the boyz are doing) is the coverup implemented throught he Cook County GOP, obviously assisted and abetted (by silence if nothing else) by the RNC.

      • Bijou says:
        2010/07/30 at 8:33 am

Thanks, Emma. I’ve been very preoccupied getting ready for an exhibition of my photography and missed that.
You’re right…the story is now the cover-up. But with toyboy out of the picture, the ‘shakedown’ aspect is pretty much moot. Oui?

    Good morning Boyz,

This request is one I think I can lend a hand with — research is what I do for a living. I think I may just need to take a long luch today — to “run some errands” ! ;-)

I’ll fire up the search tools, get out my shovel and do some digging for you!

For anyone else who has some time, the IRS (www.irs.gov) has extensive information online regarding non-profit foundations. You can check on the Foundation there. I’ll post again with some links this this, and other searches, after I get to the office.

Also, it just occurred to me — is there any chance that this gal, or some of her known cronies, could be on those white house visitors lists that have been released? If so, is does anyone have time to search those — also available online?

And, what about checking on her political contributions?

    Ooh, what fun!

I have been involved in local Republican politics in East Central Illinois for several years now. Although I am not in on all the goings-on at the state level, I have served as a Champaign County delegate to the Illinois Republican Convention (2008), was part of the Illinois GOP Outreach Task Force (ca. 2003), and attended GOP Expo in Bloomington (ca. 2003/2004). I have never heard of Elizabeth Christie. I suspect many other rank-and-file folks haven’t either, especially downstate.

I get the feeling that the Illinois GOP is way too good-old-boys-club and way too and-the-rich-women-who-do-them (physically or financially). And we wonder why the Dems run the show and are screwing Illinois taxpayers in the backside. BOHICA, baby!

  • PhillyCon says:

The “infiltration” theory sounds cloak and dagger, and as a result I’d never paid much attention. However, just recently, I have heard that Denny Hastert’s staff became infiltrated by Dems when he was Speaker and could explain the stupid moves. Its also been theorized that this is what’s going with the NRA in regards to Harry Reid. (They are flirting with endorsing Reid over Angle).

Honestly, I think anything is possible among folks who worship Alinksy like a deity.

Think about Charlie Crist. He claimed to be a Republican, and then began to show his true colors when he was denied power. He now supports Obamacare. So, it was not much a stretch for Crist to “become” a Democrat. Take another example, Arlen Specter. Finally, look at Mitt Romney with his Romneycare (and his other positions before he started running for President). How is that different from Obamacare? The RINO’s are really not that far from Democrat territory.

    • SFGoth says:
      2010/07/30 at 1:51 pm

Dennis Hastert didn’t need infiltration to be a doufuss.

It seems she operates her trans-warp money generator as a trust:

AND its possible she landed on Earth in late 2008 because I see NO contributions listed before then:

Guys, I think you are on to something here. I have just got to believe that this is a much bigger problem for the GOP than many realize. As thoroughly incompetent as left center Dems tend to be and even worse with the loony hard lefties, they fall back on the default position of lie, cheat and steal. It’s how they barely made it through school and how they pursue their careers. I am trying to spread this around to as many people as I can reach, especially in person. It makes too much sense when all around seems senseless and out of whack.

Sorry I can’t help you too much on the investigative front. I;m not much of an Internet Sleuth and everyone seems to get the dirty laundry found before I do. I’ll cruise around and pass along anything I might find. GOOD LUCK!

You guys are true patriots. I do not pass that along lightly.

Absolutely Cougar Liz could be a Dem spy. As clearly was Patti Solis Doyle, Hillary’s first campaign manager and a mole for the bho the fraud operation–women turning on women is the worst sin in my book.

Evelyn Pringle’s excellent articles on the Illinois Combine depict the pay to play schemes of both parties in IL. Remember all the Repubs who became “Democrat for a Day” to vote for the fraud in the primaries? This is all interconnected, I believe and is one of the foundations of fascism–a private party or private group, well monied, runs the country.

Follow the money. Every single time.

  • Illinois politico says:
    2010/07/30 at 10:10 am

I really don’t think Christie is a Dem mole. I think she’s a woman who is kinda bored now after selling a business for a lot of money. She’s look for something else. She got used to calling the shots in her business, and now comes over to politics and wants to do the same. She may mean well, but the fact is she’s brand new. I had never heard of her until HillBuzz. I’m quite sure she’s never been in the trenches and probably never volunteered for any candidate in the past. But she’s got a big checkbook and she’s using that to substitute for experience. She expects to be a player on day one. 100 grand will do that in Illinois politics. In fact Christie probably over paid with 100 grand. The GOP will sell out for a lot less here.

By the way, to research cash flow for political organizations, go to the Illinois Board of Elections here:

    http://www.elections.il.gov/

Then click on “Committee Search.” Then just type in the name of the organization you want to look at.

From the list of disclosure reports filed, the one you mostly want are the D-2 reports. Those are filed every six months showing contributions and expenditures for a six month period.

Also, here is a link to a memo from the RNC Finance Leadership Meeting in Boca Grande, Florida last February. She is listed on page 3 as one of the “Team 100″ cochairs — their elite fund raising committee. You may be barking up the wrong tree. She may legitimately be a Republican but just kind of a sleazy one. This is Chicago, after all.

This is a very good find….however, I’d expect that if one were an operative with moderate cash to throw around, then buying access along with a position on an executive committee is a fine way of purchasing some ‘beyond reproach’ bona fides….

  • Solaratov says:
    2010/07/30 at 12:25 pm

I really don’t understand why the RNC hasn’t gotten involved in this.
Don’t/can’t/won’t they see that things like this have *got* to be investigated and dealt with? How else will people ever see that the Republicans are serious when they talk about “cleaning up government” – if they won’t clean their own house?
It might make a minor stink and embarrassment if it’s revealed now – but nothing like the political hay that the dems will make of it if it’s left to stew until late October (which they will do – and will publicize at their most opportune time).

Once again, it looks more and more as though the Republicans are going to REACT to a scandal, rather than ACT pre-emptively.

    • Emma says:
      2010/07/30 at 1:44 pm

And another little perspective that I think matters: they are forever “reacting” instead of “responding”.

I am SO SICK of supposedly sharp public officials REACTING to things.

E.g., in this space every day, the Boyz are NOT “reacting.” They are “responding.” Big difference and far more effecting.

Democrat women today called a press conference in chicago asking why Pat Brady and IL GOP are not firing Lee Roupas. Next week, if Roupas still has a job, more high profile women we know will be asking Bill Brady and Mark Kirk why they think Lee Roupas should keep his position. He needs to be fired today so this does not go Defcon 3 next week. If you are GOP and reading this you need to end this coverup this news cycle. Today by COB.

  • Illinois politico says:

Yes, I heard that. Outstanding. Here is what CapitolFax had this morning re press conference:

    http://thecapitolfaxblog.com/2010/07/30/this-just-in-241/

Obviously the Dems are trying to score some political points. But it’s the IL GOP’s fault for letting it happen. This is what happens when Republicans try to cover up for their creepy friends.

Everyone is looking at you Pat Brady. And Bill Brady, the Dems are already saying you don’t care about women. And Mark Kirk, we all know your position on women. Only good for phony marriages of political convenience.

All of you best stop the bungling. You’re all hurting GOP prospects in November. Or maybe you don’t deserve to win.

  • Illinois politico says:
    2010/07/30 at 2:33 pm

Well here you go. Hot off the presses. Just issued by state gop chair Pat Brady. Creepy behavior by a GOP punk and a subsequent cover up, it’s all the fault of the Dems he tells us. I’m not going to say I told you so. It’s good that now everyone can see Pat Brady’s true colors:

Statement from Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady

(CHICAGO) – Illinois State Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady today released the following statement about Democratic allegations of a cover-up:

“This is a political stunt straight out of the Democrats’ playbook. Unfortunately, this is being done at the expense of a young woman.”

“The allegations have been reviewed, it’s been reported the young woman believes that this issue has been dealt with appropriately in the manner in which she requested and the issue is resolved. In addition, the person in question has resigned from his position within the Cook County Republican organization. The County GOP has a process in place to deal with such matters and will continue to look into any and all allegations should they arise.”
