Rats Jumping Ship? Daley resigns as Obama’s Chief of Staff
This couldn’t be good news for Obama and his team. The LA Times is reporting that William Daley gave Obama his letter of resignation last week and will be replaced by Budget Director Jack Lew. Daley has only been Chief of Staff for one year. The change will take place by the end of this month and according to White House staffers….Daley’s resignation took Obama completely by surprise. Daley has stated publicly that he wanted to return to Chicago but would stay by Obama’s side until after his re-election.
So…why the sudden change of heart? Daley is a very smart man and a very seasoned politician so it stands to reason that he wants to jump ship before it sinks. I wouldn’t want my name associated with a losing team. I’m not buying the “I’ve just got to get back to Chicago… the city that I love.” If things were all hunky-dory in Washington then Daley would be all over Obama’s re-election campaign.
So why the extremely sudden departure?
In the middle of a very tough election year?

That was my first thought. Second thought is Jarrett.
Actually, Jarrett is more likely because she truly has Zippy's ear, even more so than other advisers.
This was predicted by the White House Insider over at Ulsterman,whether people believe he's real or not.

Maybe the new book coming out regarding who's in charge of the White House,( Michelle and Vallere) has something to do with it?
Ulsterman also has the story about Daley ordering a comprehensive review of all Obama Department of energy loan guarantees, following the Solyndra scandal, and appointing a Republican to head it up! Daley HAD to know that was suicide. And it's funny how there's nothing much on Solyndra these days…or Fast & Furious, for that matter. The MSM and Barry must be quite thankful for the Primary DIversion.

I tend to believe the insider. When your authority and effectiveness are undermined by an underling who happens to be the boss's pet, there is not a damned thing you can do. Getting thrown under the bus and holding a "placeholder" title is not satisfying at all. I'll bet Daley has been wanting the Loser in Chief to grow some balls and be a man (forget about leader – that's never going to happen) and let him do the job he was hired to do. The media will treat this as an insignificant non-event, of course, no matter how many times it happens. Seriously, male or female, who wants to put up with Jarrett's and Moochelle's abuse?
Alternatively, Daley helps Obama get around the Senate approval requirement without the need for a recess appointment as reported by Eric Wasson at The Hill. It also frees Daley from the press scrutiney anyone working at/for the White House has to expect, making him a more effective campaign operative during the coming months. I think this is something long planned by Obama and Co.
