Rare Interview: Whitney in 1992, Just Before Bobby Brown Got Ahold of Her; VIDEO: Isolated Vocal Track from “How Will I Know?”
Before Bobby Brown brought her low.
Humble. Sweet. Funny. Crisp. The girl next door who just happened to be the most beautiful woman on the planet at the time.
Sweet Whitney Houston.

This one’s great, where she gives David Letterman a knockoff Furby doll made from what I think is a toupee stapled to a coconut. She had a great sense of humor and was never afraid of looking silly on camera.

Whitney’s raw voice, with no music…just pure VOICE

Here’s a treat on YouTube: the full length version of Whitney’s 1997 Disney version of Cinderella, where she played the Fairy Godmother. Whitney’s part starts at around the 34:00 minute mark — where she’s dolled up gorgeously in gold and gets to cast magical spells while singing kooky lyrics. It’s a lot of fun, especially the song, “Impossible”.
I’d never seen this before — and wasn’t even aware at how much producing Whitney did; she also produced “The Princess Diaries” movies with Ann Hathaway. Her next film “Sparkle” comes out in August, with Whitney in what was supposed to be her comeback acting role — a “Waiting to Exhale” sequel was supposed to follow that.
It’s a shame this woman wasn’t in more movies — she was GOOD. Just imagine if they had made X-Men with her as Storm, or had her play Catwoman instead of Halle Berry. Come to think of it, there’s a lot of movies Halle Berry did that Whitney could have done…and done better. Sort of like how Emma Stone’s getting all the roles that would have gone to Lindsay Lohan if she hadn’t derailed her career with substance abuse.

Stunning vocals.
I'm very upset now. Dateline NBC is showing pictures of her from Thursday night, and her hair is all messed and wet, and she looks tired.
Hey, you jerks, she was in a club, dancing and having fun! I remember clubbing in years past and I would leave looking like I'd taken a shower I was so drenched with sweat.
I know how this works, folks. I worked in Hollywood for five years.
These paparazzi creeps take millions of photos, and then sell the ones that make the star look like crap. They dump the nice photos, because they don't sell.
So the British papers had her bad photos published on Friday, talking about how shitty she looked and speculating if she was high or not.
Vultures.
I hope her death is found to be an accident, and they are all shamed to death.
Kevin- I just sent you a fb friend request and I have a friend who is a columnist for the Huff Post that I recommended to check this site out but she's also someone who knew Whitney pre-Bobby Brown and a huge Madonna fan too!! not to mention that she's a recovering democrat too!!
I think this may be the first glimpse we get into how she died….TMZ is reporting that there was water found in her lungs. I personally don't care if it was a drug overdose or an accident because it's a tragedy either way and I hate how society looks down on people that have been suffered from substance abuse. I've seen how easy it is to go down that path and it doesn't only happen to bad people, unfortunately, it's something that happens to good people far too often. Here's the link from TMZ: http://www.tmz.com/2012/02/12/whitney-houston-cau…
oh! I forgot to ask what did y'all think of Jennifer Hudson's tribute? I think that the only one who could've sang that song better was Whitney herself and it gave me goosebumps!! Would love to hear if I'm the one though!!
Ahhh, Kevin, you're so YOUNG ……………………………………. check out these links, especially the YouTube ………………………………. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057950/

Oh man I love this woman! Her true beauty is in God’s unwavering love for her which she had the good sense to acknowledge even in the depths of her struggle. I praise God that this lovely person will be waiting to greet little ole me at heaven’s gate! AMEN and AMEN!!!
thanks for posting the Whitney I remember from all those years ago. She was amazing and a big part of my teenage years. The "How Will I Know" was too amazing vocals…. my all-time favorite Whitney song. I look forward to hearing her voice singing in Heaven one day! May God bless her family and comfort them during this time. She was a blessing to this earth and a true gift of God!!!
Quit blaming Bobby Brown. Their relationship was combustible because it was between
two addicts. Whitney was responsible for her own actions. I belleve they were divorced in 2005. When you saw her on stage she was "cleaned up" for the cameras prior to it getting so bad they couldn't clean her up. She has had drug and alcohol problems for years. More than likely her
alcohol and drug problems started way before she met Bobbi Brown.
BTW, who goes out and parties all night, then at approximately noon the next day starts in
on drinking again? An alcoholic, that's who. If I went out partying and got semi wasted,
I would be in hangover status for the next day at least. I wouldn't want to see a drink let alone
drink a few with Xanax or whatever pills she was taking.;
Also, didn't the people in the room not call the hotel for a half hour or so? They were cleaning
out the room just like they do with all the other "star" deaths.
