QUESTION: What do you think it means for Obama now that the Leftist Media has apparently turned against him?
We still don’t know what to think about the way Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Maureen Dowd, and others in the Leftist Media have behaved since “president” Obama’s speech from the Oval Office on Tuesday.
They’ve excoriated him as “unpresidential”, have invoked Jimmy Carter comparisons, and have repeatedly called him on the carpet for his lies and vagueries the way a respectable and professional press should have vetted and scrutinized Obama as a 2008 candidate.
The Kool-Aid seems to have worn off in the sense that, at last, a Media that’s carried more water for this man than Gunga Din has put down its buckets and had a potentially fleeting moment of clarity.
What does this mean?
Have the fools at MSNBC woken up and realized “the first historic and unprecedented black president” is a complete and utter failure?
Will they ever admit this?
If so, what are the ramifications of that for the Democrat Party and the Left?
Since the Media loves to make everything about race, what does it mean that the Media pushed his particular unqualified and inexperienced black man into a position that was several dozen pay grades above his head?
What does it mean that the Media’s particular brand of affirmative action foisted upon this nation a president who spends as much time as possible goofing off, playing golf, dancing to music at lavish parties at the White House, and generally acting like P-Diddy instead of the P-OTUS…while disasters unfold all around his oblivious and deliberately vague incompetence?
Is the Media turning on this “president” before the public at large puts two and two together and realizes, “Hey, wait a minute, this guy’s president because MSNBC and the New York Times told me Hope and Change were good and that this guy could do anything, so that I should just trust him. So, I did trust him, and now I’m living in a cardboard box, that oil’s spilling everywhere, and taxes are through the roof. The Media tricked me!”?
What’s their angle and game plan here?
Because we find it so very strange that ALL the usual suspects in the Leftist Media — Obama’s most fervent, unapologetic, and most cultist cheerleaders — are ALL changing their tune on this man at the very same time.
What gives?

I am not sure what the dynamic is, since their complaint with Teh Won seems to be based on the fact that he isn’t Progressive enough for them — the far Left has been howling for him to “act like a Dictator” and to take over BP in a Chavez-like mood.
I don’t think the disenchantment of Teh Won for the Left, as delightful and delicious as it is, is a good thing. It points to the deep schism and civil war within the Democratic Party — and the Far Left lunatics are becoming truly unhinged.
I fear violence from an irrational far Left who sees their opportunity for “radical change” slipping away; I do not fear violence from the Right.

Totally agree YTZ. Van Jones and Co. believe the primaries last week were a turning point and essentially a “call to action” for the radicals. Advance their agenda now before they get banished into the woods come November. Anything goes these next few months.

It means his days are numbered. When the Republicans take over in November, Obama will be powerless. He’s going to try and do as much harm as he can to this country until then and he’s working overtime on numerous fronts. The American people are getting more and more angry over his actions, unAmerican as they blatantly are, and I predict a reversal of most if not all of his dreadful decisions soon, very soon.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he is impeached by the new Congress and drummed from office.

I don’t know about this LSM shift. I’m very suspicious. I think we need to wait awhile and get some more examples before we declare it a genuine reawkening. For my part, I get the info from their broadcasts from other sources because I NEVER watch anything on CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC; hoping to drive them out of business. If enough of us refuse to watch those stantions they will tank.
I am cable and MSM free as well. I also try and boycott the major sponsors of the LSM when and where possible. When the advertisers can’t reach their target audience because the TeeVee set is dark, the LSM will truly lose its power and grip over “conventional wisdom”.

My friends who are STILL huge Obama-aid drinkers of the first order tell me that if people on pensions have to suffer for all of us to learn how much we need alternative fuel – fine. We all must suffer. The thing is, I don’t see one thing changing in their comfortable lifestyles.
I’m sorry but what fools your friends truly are. What do they think is going to happen – a snap of the fingers and whatever the alt. energy is – solar, wind, etc. will magically produce enough to replace oil? Somehow vehicles, planes, etc. will be retrofitted to use these energies?

How many of the things that you see are made totally or partially out of petrochemicals, i.e., plastic and synthetic fibers? And if I were a patient in a hospital–now we’re getting REALLY serious–we’re talking IV tubes, stethoscope tubing, sphygnomanometers, mattress covers, thermometer sleeves, syringes, the bags that hold blood and plasma for infusions, disposable gloves, hygienic masks, surgical thread, catheters and catheter bags, colostomy bags, artificial organs, orthotics and prosthetics, the moisture-proof backings for incontinence pads, elastic bandages, nasogastric tubes, feeding tubes, oxygen tubing, wheelchair seats and backs and handlegrips, dosage cups, the bottles that hold everything from medicine to hand sanitizer, surgeon’s footies and aprons, contact lenses and the lenses in most people’s glasses these days, etc., etc.
If I were in my kitchen, and there were no more petroleum, not only would there be no more refrigeration, but no plastic packaging, no styrofoam food containers, no plastic dishracks (including in the dishwasher), no formica counters, hell, no vinyl flooring.
Modern life as we know it is simply NOT POSSIBLE without plastic, which means, it is not possible without PETROLEUM.
I’ve always said that one of the top reasons we should try to conserve petroleum in our driving and other transportation is that without plastic for hygienic purposes, diseases will spread rapidly, and when they do, without plastic for tubing and other things we will not have the means to help people get well.

In order to project a modicum of seriousness, the MSM HAVE to be critical. They have no choice.
They will “come home” eventually. I do not believe for a second they will ever fully turn on him, their liberal “white guilt” would never allow it.

Didn’t the LieStream Media do the same to Bush after Katrina?
They were critical of Bush immediately after Katrina and continued to be regardless of the actions he did take. The leftist media took 59 days to criticize Obama, and their criticism amounted to a plea for him to become a dictator and sieze BP’s assets. In other words, they criticized Bush for being a Republican and they criticized Obama for not being enough of a Fascist.

So their travel party probably consists of close to 15 people perhaps 20. She has to be driven in secure cars and motorcaded around for protection. Hotel rooms are secured – usually the whole floor for the travel party and they aren’t staying at Days Inn. You betcha’ we’re paying for it and today she was in Malibu “at the beach with the girls”. This must be the compromise vacation since politically he can’t get away right now and they were promised a trip to Australia and Indonesia. They’ve been there since Saturday I believe.
School’s barely over and they hightailed it outta DC, not even waiting for the all-important Oval Office speech by Daddy. Hmmm……..
I think they probably kissed and made up by now…especially since he coerced BP into paying part of the bill for lost income caused by the delays Obama’s lack of urgency created. In addition, this government will handle the payments…..scary thought. It will make him look like a brilliant negotiator. The MSM will be back with laurel wreaths to crown him. It might make them pause in the gusher-type praise they give him, but he will always be their darling.
My thinking is that within two more weeks we are going to see a groundswell of calling for Zero’s resignation. I am predicting that this is going to cost him his job prematurely. He won’t last until 2012.

But her point seemed to be, “get tough, we are going to pass cap and trade and if it takes reconciliation, so be it. After all, I AM Barack Obama, do as I say.”

But I don’t believe for a minute they have turned on their Baby Bama. BUT instead of letting them use this disaster to push through cap and trade, it makes more sense for our side to push for drilling, as in Anwar starting tomorrow. We can’t run a nation on windmills.

The interesting one is the far left John Stewart. Now you have to accept his positions about various subjects… but he did do a really good exposure on the hypocrisy of Oboomboomdala in that piece. That is why it is worth watching – the end where he uses the picture of Palin made me laugh but then I did not see it as a swipe at Palin so much as he recognized that Palin lives in Oboomboomdala’s head.

I am so effing mad I am spitting nails. The Coast Guard quit sending out barges to suck up crude because there were not enough fire extinguishers and lifevests.
I am giving it two weeks for Zero to get this shit cleaned up. Then we’ll see a revolution. I don’t think people are going to stand for this much incompetence.

This administation looks a lot like the old Soviets with all the layers of commissars and bureaucracy. And they couldn’t get anything done either…except enslaving their citizens. Tuesdays – queue up for bread. Wednesdays, meat. Thursdays Dairy – milk, cheeses. And so on.

I listened to a local Philly station when I was driving home on sunday afternoon. The talk show hosts name was Michael Smirkonish. He was interviewing Chris Matthew’s regarding what Matthew’s called “a real documentary”. At some point Matthew’s was suggesting how violent, in the last ten years, the Right had become… and he mentioned the tea party people in his list. A caller called in to defend the TPP and Matthew’s jumped all over him because “there was no Tea Party” ten years ago. How can he list a group, lump them in with his ten year assumption, and when someone calls to say how non violent a particular group is, jump down their throat with what he thought was a gotcha answer? Matthew’s was the one who mentioned the group, yet acted as if he just proved how dumb they are??? Smirkonish he is 1210s resident liberal and seemed to be ecstatic that Matthew’s was on his show. I don’t know what Matthew’s documentary is called, but I can tell you I will not bother to watch. I guess Bill Ayers, Van Jones, or Bobby Rush were all Right wingers. I am sure you could make a list of all the Weathermen types Obama knew, hung around with, who had overthrowing our government as a goal…but I can’t name many Right wing people who come under the heading of violent. I am getting tired of people like MSNBC supposed reporters, etc., parroting that as a truth. Does anyone know what Charlie Manson was, politically? What about the synbionese liberation army? Bet they weren’t Republicans.
