Question of the Day: What are your predictions for 2010?
What are your predictions for 2010?
We’ll have ours up by morning, but wanted to start this thread now for those of you who want to speculate through the night.
To give this some direction, here are five points we’d love to have you cover, giving your thought on each:
(1) How low do you think Dr. Utopia’s approval rating will go in 2010?
(2) Do you think any Cabinet members will resign and be replaced in 2010?
(3) How bad will the 2010 elections be for Democrats? Be specific as to which Senate seats you think they will lose, and how big a loss will it be in the House and the Governorships.
(4) Do you think there will be a major terrorist attack in 2010?
(5) How will unemployment fair in 2010?
Anything else you think merits placement as a question, submit it and we’ll build on this list.
What think you?

1) The Economy / Jobs – Duh. For many Democrats, the damage has already been done. But for every additional day that unemployment remains largely unchanged, more and more formerly rock-solid Democrat Congresspeople inch closer to defeat. If unemployment is still high, it will result in large defeats for the Democrats. If the economy is still low, it will also result in large defeats. If the economy is still low AND unemployment is still high, it will be a massive, sweeping, and shocking (to some) defeat for the Democrats.
2) The Deficit – While Democrats weren’t looking, the general public has started educating itself on the dangers of a high deficit. Perhaps more than any other economic policy, a high deficit runs the risk of destroying wealth for EVERYONE, not just rich folks. People are starting to get VERY nervous. This is a HUGE problem for Obama/Dems, because all their policies on improving the economy rely on deficit spending.
3) The War on Terror – It turns out that Hope and Change and Lollipops and Unicorns and euphemisms and excessive use of the word “unprecedented” actually has no effect on curbing radical hatred of the United States. Back when the country was in the process of electing Obama, confidence on the War on Terror was at an all-time high of 60%. In mid-February, the number set another record at 62%. On Dec. 29th that number was down 26 points to a mere 36%, and those believing the Terrorists are winning the war rose 16 points to 30%.
It’s interesting to note that as the election progressed, the public confidence on the War on Terror steadily increased. I believe the MSM and the Democrats wanted to make the War on Terror a non-issue in order to limit one of McCain’s primary selling points. Whatever they did, it worked. But now their chickens are coming home to roost. I predict that 2010 will see the War on Terror returning to become a major player in the world of political opinion.
4) Corruption, Corruption, Corruption – Government ethics and corruption is currently polling a mere 2 points behind the economy on the top electoral issues. With the rise of the TEA party, the prevalence of Congress to ram legislation through despite massive opposition, and the disgrace of corrupt politicians like John Edwards and Mark Sanford (who illegally use or funnel money for private gain), 2010 is shaping up to be a huge referendum on corruption in Congress, and against establishment politicians in general.
5) Taxes, Health Care, and Elitism – I lump these together because they’re so closely interlaced. 65% of the country is very concerned with tax hikes. Yet taxes are going up under the health care bill. It should then come as no surprise that 55% opposed the current health care bill, and only 40% support it, even though 75% of voters support health care reform in general! Passing legislation that gets it wrong is often worse than passing nothing at all, ESPECIALLY when so many people have been voicing opinions to their Congresspeople and are feeling ignored. This elitist attitude will damage or dethrone many formerly untouchable Congressional seats.
“The Quintuple Threat” – Or How Political Ignorance Created An Inescapable Perfect Storm
The economy must recover and jobs must return. But all the Democrats seem to be capable of doing is spending more and more money and growing the size of government. There are only three outcomes:
– More Taxes
– Bigger Deficit
– Both
No matter what they do, the Democratic plan for recovery will lead the public directly into another source of public anger.
Reducing the deficit means either cutting spending or raising taxes, or both. Cutting spending is notoriously impossible for Democrats, but when they do, the military is usually the first place to take a hit.
If taxes are increased, the public will be angry. If military spending is cut, it will increase the chances of another terrorist attack.
People want health care reform, but not the one being pushed through Congress. Passage will mean immediate tax hikes for most people, not just the rich, yet benefits won’t be available for 3 or 4 years. That alone is a recipe for disaster, but chances are good that certain elements will be Constitutionally challenged and subsequently stricken from the legislation (such as the mandate), and other portions will just be removed due to ‘outcry’ (like the Medicare cuts). This will mean a much higher price tag, so we’re back to more deficit spending or more taxes or both.
Just about the only thing the Democrats could focus on without running smack-dab into another set of problems would be rooting out and eliminating corruption. But it would seem that corruption is how things get done in the world of legislative politics (votes are purchased with earmarks, a la Ben Nelson.) So attacking corruption will grind all their legislation to a halt, create more rifts within the Democratic party, and end up harming the establishment politicians anyway.
No matter what they do, they seem to be screwed. Their only hope is to hoodwink the general public again like they did in 2008.
EricP … fabulous prognostication! How about the “unprecedented” use of the word “unprecedented”? LOL
Outstanding post, EricP.
Your analysis was impeccable, your restraint notable and worthy of praise.
Hey, I was wondering what happened to Hillary. It is like she isn’t around.
Do you know where she is?
You know what, this is actually an interesting question. Obviously now she’s probably on vacay. I think she was doing some foreign travel just before vacation though.
Generally, you can keep up on her stuff via the secretary of state website, or just using Google News and searching for her.
Yeah, where is the Secretary of State? Why the silence?
You are so right. They keep Hillary under wraps.
Last I heard anything about her, she was in Copenhagen with the infamous Dr. U. Now it seems she’s back into her mandated silence with Willy.
I don’t know where she is, but I did hear that Hillary & Sarah have the highest approval ratings of any politician out there now. Interesting!
After a nationwide poll Hillary is the most admired woman in America, followed closely by Sarah Palin. Hillary is out and about, doing her job faithfully for the benefit of all of us. The staterun media is keeping her out of the headlines for Barry’s sake, but she is there working a hell of a lot harder than Barry, and her approval numbers show it.
Oh, and MO with the most awesome arms in all the world, came in a very distant 4th. The media is losing its hold over the American public, as they have talked her up so much, and given her such great press she should be at #1. Ha, what a joke the press has become.
MO makes my eyes bleed so … have to turn away from the disturbing vision to continue life.
Same here… in fact, on the side of most toxic household goods, it says “to induce vomiting, please stare at photograph of FLOTUS” and the poison can leave your body.
I hate to write this but I think there will be a major terrorist attack by the end of January.
Either that or something else catastrophic enough to knock Squat on his butt.
This is predicated on my intuition, which has been in overdrive the past month.
I hope I’m wrong.
Maybe if we pray, for those that believe in it, it will change the outcome..I always keep an open mind to people and their intuition and never take it lightly.
Thanks.
I agree with you, Basil. My intuition has been telling me that something is up on the terror front. I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen. I got this link fron BT’s FB page, this is NOT good. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,581478,00.html?test=latestnews
an empty van found parked in Times Square no plates, other suspicious things…scares the bejeebies out of me.
Perhaps it was a dry run to see how long it took the police to notice a beater van with taped-over windows parked on a main throughfare and how
they reacted once they noticed it? Has anyone claimed the van? To whom is it registered? Haven’t heard a word about it on any news station since the Times Square discovery … but I’m in California so that’s not an “unprecedented” event. Absolutely a strike is on the horizon. I would not be surprised if there aren’t multiple strikes coordinated to unleash at the same time, whether in a single locale or in cities from coast to coast.
I heard it belongs to a peddler in Times Square (on Fox News). Anyway, the owner is identified as a local.
99.9% (if not 100%) of the peddlars are Muslim in NYC.
That’s been a question of mine for the last few years. They have ALL the hotdog carts for these last few years. There used to be a variety of nationalities who ran the carts. The same thing with the coffee and fruit carts. You can travel NYC all day long and be hardpressed to find anyone other than a Muslim operating the carts. I starting noticing that a couple of years after 9/11. It always seems strange to me.
If we get a terrorist attack it will be on the second half of the year. As always, bad news come handy after July. The elec tion of this communist organizer has been the worst news.
I keep up with mundane astrology (the astrology of world affairs) and many astrologers are predicting bad events coming up. We are facing two eclipses, a lunar eclipse today and the solar, on January 15, which conjoins our Pluto in House 9 of foreign nationals and opposes our Mercury in House 3. Mercury here is not only our schools and teachers, but also our communication networks and our commutes and circulating, in other words, our travel. Retrograde Mars will conjoin the cusp of our homeland exactly. All this does not look good and we need to harden our security. Something is going to happen.
I studied Feng Shui…
2009 was the year that things were extreme.
2010.. is new beginings or what will be considered the ‘new normal’.
Chinese new year starts in Feb.
Look for things in Feb to be an indicator of the new normal….or the begining of something. Its also a year of “on your own.”
2011.. will be coming together or partnerships… no idea what that could mean.
I hate to agree with you on this one but my intuition has been nagging me for a couple months now on WHEN? I think they are planning a massive attack all over the country at the same time again. I read that they are practicing with the body scanners to figure out how to beat it. I think we need to waterboard this last terrorist to make him tell what he knows. I know this is coming, just not sure where or when. Those of you that live in the large cities be on red alert! May God protect us from all this insanity! I truly hope we’re both wrong basil!
1. Don’t know but if he and Congress continue on the path they are on then I wouldn’t be surprised to see his approval fall to mid 20s percent. That would say to me that pretty much the only people left supporting him would be hardcore leftists.
2. I think this is likely to happen and soon. We are still dealing with the fallout from the attempted attack on Christmas and if somebody (even if it’s just a minor someone) isn’t gone by mid January that will surprise me.
3. Don’t know enough on this one to give you a good answer.
4. Likely, though odds are it will be in some other part of the world and not here in the states. Obama and this congress may be bad on national security but it’s still way easier for terrorists to commit atrocities in other countries than it is for them to pull it off here.
5. Again, I don’t know enough to give a good answer on that question. Hopefully things will start to improve in 2010 but I’m not counting on it until maybe closer to the end of the year and we see how the November elections go.
Judging by the way the TSA is going after a few bloggers about posting some TSA revised securtiy measures–physical intimidation and seizing the hard drives–the freedom of the inernet is most likely to be hammered. I fully expect Obama and his goons to try and eliminate our internet communication and freedoms.
(1) How low do you think Dr. Utopia’s approval rating will go in 2010?
My guess is low to mid-twenties.
(2) Do you think any Cabinet members will resign and be replaced in 2010?
Yes, and I hope it is Napolitano at DHS.
(3) How bad will the 2010 elections be for Democrats? Be specific as to which Senate seats you think they will lose, and how big a loss will it be in the House and the Governorships.
Not sure on this one, but I’m hoping that is worse than they could possibly imagine.
(4) Do you think there will be a major terrorist attack in 2010?
I think something is definitely up on the terror front. Utopia’s Administration brings incompetence to a whole new level.
(5) How will unemployment fair in 2010?
I’m thinking it will go up another point or so, then, slowly come back down. That is assuming that Congress stays out of it; if they decide to “help” all bets are off.
1. His approvals have to go much lower, today’s Austin UnAmerican-Statesman is carrying an article titled “White House makes plans for battle over immigration reform.”
http://www.statesman.com/news/nation/white-house-makes-plans-for-battle-over-immigration-156465.html
2. I think Napolotano will be the “sacrificial lamb”.
3. I don’t know about the elections, they probably won’t be as bad for the Dems as we would like them to be.
4. There will be another terrorist attack in the next few months, and Napolotano’s head will roll for it.
5. Based on what is happening to my retirement investment account, (it bottomed out on April 21st and has risen a nice amount as of yesterday)I think unemployment is about as high as it is going to go. I don’t think it will improve much in the next year unless we can defeat healthcare and some of his other programs to show business that taxes are not going to rise as much as feared, therefore giving them confidence to start hiring.
Not on this subject, but does anyone know, did our Princess in the House fly to Hawaii for her vacation at our expense, or did she lower herself to provide her own transportation?
Word has it Princess Pelousy flew on a regular airline any of us could use if any of us could afford it. Of course, who actually paid the airfare is entirely another matter.
Not very good at predictions, but I do hope that there will be a major exodus from Congress… and that includes Republicans who didn’t have the backbone to stop compromising and fight for their constituents.
This is the wrong place for this but I never got around to posting in your earlier column: what do you think of a Sarah Palin/Condoleezza Rice ticket for 2012? Never heard it floated but I feel it would be a winning combination.
Afraid the above poster is right and 2010 will see more terrorist attacks – major ones – and I am also afraid that the pieces of legislation that Obama has slipped through will start lining up and people will start feeling the tightening of the Liberals’ noose around their necks.
You absolutely don’t want Condi Rice on a ticket with Sarah. Sarah wants to be tough on Islamic terrorism, Condi Rice never will be. She did enough damage dithering with North Korea.
I don’t think Condi Rice has any interest, anyway.
Condi did one of those ‘if nominated I won’t run, if elected I won’t serve’ type things a while back. Made it Very clear she wasn’t interested.
Besides, I still think a Palin/Clinton ticket would be a lot of fun. Confuse the daylights out of both left and right.
Palin/Bachmann would be my DREAM ticket, but it’s not realistic, at least not YET.
Maybe Palin/Giuliani….hmmm……
If Sarah runs(she will) and she clinches the GOP nomination(she will) she will not pick another governor as VP. She will pick a senator, former congressman/woman or a general.
I have the ability to see the future!
(1) How low do you think Dr. Utopia’s approval rating will go in 2010?
I think he may drop to 38%.
(2) Do you think any Cabinet members will resign and be replaced in 2010?
Napolitano -gone
Geithner – resign
Holdren – resign, or forced out
(3) How bad will the 2010 elections be for Democrats? Be specific as to which Senate seats you think they will lose, and how big a loss will it be in the House and the Governorships.
Republicans will take back the house.
In the Senate, the dems will lose:
Lincoln
Dodd
Reid
Specter
It is also possible that Boxer and Bayh will be in trouble.
(4) Do you think there will be a major terrorist attack in 2010?
Yes I do. Perhaps several.
(5) How will unemployment fair in 2010?
Unemployment will rise above 11% and inflation will steadily rise
I am from Indiana, and I agree about Bayh. The entire state is in an uproar about the health care bill, and Bayh is totally ignoring the wishes of the people in his state.
The public has finally caught on to his talking about “Hoosier values” when at home and then voting with Reid in the Senate. If the GOP can manage to put up a decent candidate I think Bayh will lose.
I agree!
Have you been watching the letters to the editor in the Star? Very bad for Bayh.
Bye Bye Bayh!
Don’t you think that if Hillary wants to save any sense of competency for herself that she may resign in 2010? It was mentioned in an article on hotair after last week’s underwear bomb incident that State Dept. was also being looked at to blame or be thrown under the bus…
Also, I hate to say it, but I think the only ones who will support O until the end are the African-American community..
Check out CNN. The headline was that the “thrill is gone” with the AA community and Obama. He could probably stick up a bank and be caught walking out with the bag and that hardcore support would still support him (Robin Hood meme).
Future forecasts will be determined by whether or not the Obama/Reid/Piglosi CommieCare Bill is passed…These answers will reflect the passage of CommieCare.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(1) How low do you think Dr. Utopia’s approval rating will go in 2010?
(38 – 42 total approve)
(2) Do you think any Cabinet members will resign and be replaced in 2010?
(absolutely…scapegoats will be necessary, Napolitano can bend over and smooch her ass good-bye after the next terror attack)
(3) How bad will the 2010 elections be for Democrats? Be specific as to which Senate seats you think they will lose, and how big a loss will it be in the House and the Governorships.
(This will all depend on how successful they are able to pull off the planned, massive, nation wide, electronic voter fraud scam…If NY 23rd is any indication, then the damage to the Dems will be minimal…For the past year the Dems have given their constituents the middle finger right in their faces…No one that plans on running for re-election does that unless they think they have an ace in the hole)
(4) Do you think there will be a major terrorist attack in 2010?
(Absolutely…There is no question about it and next time it probably won’t fail…There will be more that one attempt)
(5) How will unemployment fair in 2010?
(It will increase by as much as 30%)
****************************************
If CommieCare doesn’t pass it won’t be quite as bad for the Dems, but will still be bad enough…The terrorists don’t give a rat’s ass about CommieCare…They are going to hit us, regardless..)
amazingly they have not attacked some very vulnerable places, the subways, poisoning the water supply, empire state bldge etc.. surely they are not impenetrable!
why we have not already had a major attack is a mystery, but i think one more, and utopias image will suffer..
i predict he will drop 3 or 4 points in the next few days, due to his lackluster comments re the plane incident, calling terrorists “enemy combatants”, and has stated that he still wants to close Gitmo!
I want to know why he didn’t call up Air Force One and get his tushie back to D.C.
Oh, yeah, Michelle probably didn’t want that vacay cut short.
My thoughts exactly.
Did anyone watch that Conspiracy Theory show on Tru last night…with Jesse Ventura? Just curious…interesting stuff though…maybe it’s on youtube..
Predictions:
1) How low will utopia go?- he’s at 46 now (Rasmussen). I see low 30′s, say 32 easy by St. Patty’s day. If there’s another terror strike on US soil, mid 20′s.
2) Cabinet members gone/replaced: Incompetano by end of Feb, Hillary as soon as dipstick goes below 40% approval consistently. Herbie the Dentist Geithner oh, middle of the year.
3)Don’t have specifics, but it will be bad for the Democrats. Very bad.
4) Do I think there will be an attack- yes, yes I do. My thought is Chicago, as it’s a major metro area and where utopia the Indonesian claims to be “from” lately. Also it’s deep in the American heartland, not on coasts.
5) How will unemployment fare- upwards of 12% easy (I think we’re at that point now), close to 15% probably. Healthcare costs, inflation/the loss of value in the dollar, looming EPA stupidity about C02, immigration “reform”, the ongoing mortgage meltdown, and the continued socialization of the private sector will make pretty much every company real queasy about hiring anyone.
Other possible questions:
Do you think the Tea Party will become a viable third party?
Do you think Obama will release any of his heretofore unreleased documentation (transcripts, medical records, test scores, BIRTH CERTIFICATE)?
Do you think anyone in the MSM will finally tell the truth and discuss the First Lady’s complete lack of taste? If so, who?
What do you think Sarah Palin’s Approval rating will do in the next year? Go up, go down, what?
Do you see anyone stepping up to become the “Leader” of the GOP? If so, who?
****************************************
Happy New Year’s to everyone- be careful out there.
3rd party brings cheer to the Dims. GOP has to clean house of RINOS!
Exactly – no third party, maybe to ourselves just call it the “Sane” party. No more Rinos, no more radical Dims. Everyone on THIS site seems sane! Male or female, black or white, straight or gay, lib or conservative, everyone seems SANE and wants the same thing – our country back and out of the control of Dr. Utopia and his evil minions.
amen!
…Or using Sarah’s words, perhaps a “Common Sense” party following the philosophies, values & principles of the Founding Fathers like Thomas Paine.
I have no idea what will happen in 2010. Every time I think Dr. U can’t possibly make things worse, he goes and does precisely that.
I am a lifelong Dem and I can tell you this much. I plan to pull the straight Republican lever for the next election and all those in the foreseeable future until some checks and balances are restored to our shaky system.
Oh, and I hope you guys will promise to say “Great Merciful Zeus” as much as possible. It always cracks me up and brightens my day.
CV, good for you!!!
Like the Boyz and their support of Hottie McAwesome, sometimes ya just gots to do what ya gots to do.
(Agree…’Great Merciful Zeus’ is very cool.)
I think we should all start inserting “Great Merciful Zeus” randomly into conversations. (while at the same time bringing up Scott “Hottie” McAwesome; it’s just our way of contributing!)
Regarding a terror attack: I have this bad feeling that something is imminent. It kills me to even think or type this. We lost a few friends from college on 9-11, and it haunts me and my husband to this day.
The terrorists know we have a weak President who really doesn’t seem to care about the war on terror. Its just a nuisance to him, it takes away energy that he could be fully devoting to socailizing the country. If you notice, Cheney has been vocal on their policies, so if something does happen, they can’t turn around and blame Bush. As this post clearly illustrates, that’s one of the few things they do well. http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/rubin/208861
Based on my firm belief that the true power brokers behind Obama are Republican/Democratic Neocons, I have to conclude that the only way Obama will be allowed to remain in office is if his poll numbers are so bad that they will lead to a Republican landslide in the midterm elections. If he should by chance maintain or increase his poll numbers, then a major scandal will surface and he will have to resign for “health reasons”. I don’t think the Neocons like Janet Napolitano at all. She is anything but a fascist and if she balks at their dictates, then an unfortunate terrorist attack or some concocted scandal will erupt forcing her from her position. Congress will remain paralyzed because most of them are sitting on their own scandalous timebombs.
As a lifelong Dem-I went the same way the hillbuzz group did. This administration is beyond the normal incompetent, corrupt, etc. problems. All Obama will have for support is his wacky die-hards, not the sharpest tools in the shed. The Democrats are going to get creamed in the upcoming elections, they earned this, they deserve it. I am still waiting for a Democrat(s)to break ranks with the administration and become loyal Americans, not DOA puppets to Obama.
What is Hillary Clinton doing in a den of inequity like this?
Watching and waiting. Although I do not often agree with her policies, I think she is one of the smartest, shrewdest women in the world. She will let Obama sink himself and pull out at a very appropriate time for herself.
How he has hidden her away is telling in itself. Why she allows it is a story she will tell at a later date.
Shrewd yes but to what end? She and Bill will always be gimmes. Enough of them and Kennedys and all the POLITICS AS USUAL crowd.
I have often wondered why Hillary took that spot as Secretary of State. It seems to me she would have been better off in the Senate.
On the other hand, she might be smarter than the rest of the democrats (and me), because right now she isn’t associated with Obama’s domestic policies, particularly the health care bill.
I don’t think she will stay in her position past 2010, though. Either she will make a run at a governorship or try to reclaim her old Senate job, unless she decides to challenge Obama for the nomination.
Hill is for Hill period!
I think she should run for governor of NY. Why? Because I don’t think the Dem party will have the guts to oust Obama for re-election, even though it will likely be political suicide. She would come off as a “traitor” to Obama if she runs against him, and that will not sit with the powers that be in the Dem party. Her only hope to run in 2012 would be if Obama decides to not run. Wonder how soon we/she will know this.
By being governor, she would gather up some experience which is decidedly different and better than a senator. Governing is very much a plus for preparing to be Prez. Of course, she spent 8 yrs in the White House with Bill, and as I gather, she was very much a part of what went on there. Sure beats Obama’s experience prior to his election!
Not to change the subject, but certainly Palin has better experience in prep to be Prez than Obama. She did one helluva job in Alaska!
She was SUPERB in AK!
(1) How low do you think Dr. Utopia’s approval rating will go in 2010?
- AA community stays at 80%, at least until they realize there’s no “ObamaMoney” coming to them. (I have no faith that they’ll ever realize that their high unemployment (30%+) is directly due to progressive/liberal policies.)
- The rest of the country drops to around 30%.
(2) Do you think any Cabinet members will resign and be replaced in 2010?
- I think Napolitano won’t last long. The head of the national counterterrorism center is also at risk. Clinton probably resigns in 2011. Geithner is out if unemployment stays at 10 or above until the election. Unfortunately, Holder (AG) and Duncan (Ed) are probably too close to the pres to be at risk.
(3) How bad will the 2010 elections be for Democrats? Be specific as to which Senate seats you think they will lose, and how big a loss will it be in the House and the Governorships.
- Electoral fraud is a concern (I personally believe that Franken already stole one election). But Reid is gone, probably Dodd as well, and I’d say at least 2/3 of the “blue dogs” in the house. I’d love to see the dems lose the majority, but I’m not too hopeful.
(4) Do you think there will be a major terrorist attack in 2010?
- Sooner or later one will get through. The desire of this administration for the issue to “go away” will make it easier. I think something will be attempted in NY in the vicinity of the courthouse where the Gitmo5 are to be tried. May not be successful, though.
(5) How will unemployment fair in 2010?
- Official unemployment goes above 11%, unofficially, it’ll top 20%.
Here’s my question (and when I asked it 18 months ago, I was RAAACIST for even thinking it): What happens to race relations in this country when the first AA president is an abject failure? Obama = Carter on steroids (aka Carter w/o the “experience” {lack of which was blamed for Carter’s failure}).
“Here’s my question (and when I asked it 18 months ago, I was RAAACIST for even thinking it): What happens to race relations in this country when the first AA president is an abject failure?”
It isn’t raaaacist. It’s a cause for concern for anyone who looks at the situation rationally.
Unemployment in the black community, for the youth population, is frighteningly high. The CBC was screaming at Dr. U about this a couple of weeks ago.
Dr. U doesn’t help the matter, either. Look at his behavior. It’s always the grievance mentality of blaming someone else. Usually it’s Bush, but the underlying theme is the same. He did it with the Cambridge, Mass. situation. He has that mindset ingrained in his psyche, and instead of being a leader he reinforces that attitude from the highest office in the country.
Remember the video of the people in Detroit lining up for the cash handouts? None of them knew where the money was coming from, apparently. One of the people said that it was coming from Barry’s “stash.” My take-away from that is that there are plenty of Obots who expect not only ‘special’ treatment but that they expect to be saved from their malaise.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see extremely volatile situations in larger cities among minorities. Dr. U is stoking the fires not only with his attitude and lack of leadership but with his inattention to the private sector lacking the determination to create jobs.
1. 26-28%–yes that low! the populus is pi$$ed.
2. Nappypoli (cue bus); Holder maybe? These radicals have waited too long to relinquish anything!
3.Senate change of +5 for R’s. Dodd, lincoln, Spector and surely Reid gone plus 1 Brown in.
House D’s lose 43 (I know out on limb)
4. Sad to say yes, yes, yes; at least three.
5.12.4% nationally; at least a couple of states 15-16%; depends on how pi$$ed small businesses get and how much they lay-off.
HB may want to consider:
1. A-gan war; stalmate or loss if our Air Power is shackled. I say this with a heavy heart as I’m a Mil. Ret.
2. Abortion factor in Bills.
3. Gun Control factor in Bills.
4. And the big enchelada (spl?) Citizenship &/or Medical for ILLEGALS! Sticks in my craw. What say you HB?
Michigan is above 15% unemployment right now, plus a lot of us are “underemployed”. I think Oregon is pretty much the same.
There will be a failed but “wake up call” terrorist attack in the White House. Obama’s numbers fall below 40% by November.
Congress goes REPUBLICAN.
Unemployment goes down below double digits during the first 3 months. But by September it goes back to 12%.
The Taliban will take command of Aghanistan.
Another terrorist shooter kills dozens in a military base in North Carolina.
A maniac throws eggs at Michelle Obama in a public appearance.
Sarah Palin officially takes lead of the Tea Party movement. Hundreds of thousands attend her speeches before the 2010 elections.
Marco Rubio barely wins in Florida.
Rick Perry is reelected in Texas.
Condi Rice shows her RINO credentials by saying Michelle Obama is cute.
Hillary Clinton starts to strongly dissagree with Obama by December.
Obama’s hair goes white.
These predictions won’t fail:
Obama will be blaming Bush for everything that goes wrong in the economy and the war on terror untill December.
By August, the Nation will be celebrating the biggest Obama lie: bringing troops back from Iraq in 16 months.
Obama will still be relying on his teleprompters to tell his academic style lies.
Israel will attack Iran. Gas prices skyrocket. 4 bucks a gallon or Regular.
The Pope will start to become ill.
Obama will try to sit uncondicionally with Kim Jong, Admadinehah and Fidel Castro for a beer. African Americans approve that move 99%. The white left will call Obama the greatest human being that ever walked the earth.
Obama’s approval numbers fall below 40% but PPP poll shows him beating Sarah Palin by 30 points. And tied with Mitt Romney in a 2012 possible match up.
1) Approval rating: Mid to low 30′s. There’s always a hard core group of support.
2) Yep. Napolitano, Geithner if unemployment stays high, Holder should go, and I’d love to see Rahm get spat out. If Hillary wants to run again, she should resign in ’10 to build her party mechanism.
3)I honestly belive the Republicans will retake the House. The historical average for incumbent party losses in the mid-terms is 28 house seats and three senate seats. This year is above average, and the people are angry. In the Senate, Reid, Dodd, Bennett, Lincoln, Specter. Boxer will ahve a scare put into her. Governorships: right now, it’s 26D-24R. The Republicans stand a good chance at gaining the majority of the Statehouses. Say 31.
4) Terrorist attack. Big one. If anyone ever saw the movie “Black Sunday,” it envisioned an attack at the Super Bowl. Remember, they only have to get through once. The only part of the system that worked was the same one as United Flight 93, and the shoe bomber flight. The passengers became an airborne militia.
5) Unemployment could hit 13% (official number). The unofficial number is probably close to 20%.
I predict that MoDo et al, will continue to slowly see the light, which will only help our cause………….
O.T. great Victor David Hansen piece on Obama’s disasterous 1st year.
I think that Janet Justanotherpolitano will resign. I LOVE that NJ’s former acting governor–Richard Cody (D)–is vociferously calling for her to step down.
We got your NJ right here, Janet, you ineffectual Utopia-butt-kissing slob! RESIGN!
Mark Steyn was calling her Janet Incompetano when he filled in for Rush this week.
Iran will be attacked by Israel within the next 2 months and it will spark the revolutionaries to overthrough the regime. There is so much weakness in that regime right now, an attack will be the final straw. i bet that’s Israel’s plan.
Unemployment will go back up after the temporary holiday employees aren’t counted anymore. I’m thinking 10.5%. unemployment will go up to 12% by summer and stay in that area untill the end of the year. I think there is way too much uncertainty out there. no reason to start hiring again.
No reason for anyone to do anything now. Everyone that is employed will sit tight and hope they can keep their jobs, spending as little as possible to get by and trying to save in case they lose their job. So, no new spending, no hiring, no growth in the economy. So much for hope …. but we did get change, people that can are saving money…something too many spoiled Americans weren’t doing much of before this recession.
Of course, with no real tax incentives, no new businesses will be popping up except for the few that can scrape something together on their own after losing their job and needing to do SOMETHING to try to earn income. Entrepreneurship will still be limited due to lack of funds. The businesses closing will continue to exceed the new ones coming up.
Hard to see how this cycle will end with a president bent on collecting more taxes for whatever he deems needed to redistribute to those that are out of work or refuse to work.
My last comment, in hindsight, seems harsh to those unemployed due to the poor economy and want to work, and that’s not who I mean to come down on one bit.
So, here’s more specific thoughts of mine:
1. The problem with redistribution to those out of work is that it’s mostly Obamas’s fault they are there in the first place. He’s the biggest cause of the need.(Yes, this mess started under Bush, but Obama voted with and supported the Dems who are responsible for the banking mess that brought on the first bail out.) Now he wants to give more money to FANNIE MAE to lend frivolously once more.
2. Obama also wants to redistribute our money to decide who shall receive health care and who shall not.
3. Redistribute our money as lord over the auto industry, with more money to soon flow again to keep Government Motors going.
4. Steal our money for Cap & Trade. Obama’s definintely going to need more of our money for that and how many more jobs will that flush down the drain? Of course, the few new jobs will be full of people beholding to Obama & the Dems.
5. Need I go on?
It’s hard to have high hopes for this new year, other than that the election in November will turn the tide for once and for all. Not because I want repubs elected, but because I want all the SCUM voted out!
My very long post re predictions for 2010 is, for now, lost in the ether. I suspect it will show up before 2011!
These predictions are based on my astrological review of the Eclipse of July 21 2009, the Eclipse of December 31, 2009 (Blue Moon), and the Eclipse of January 15, 2010.
(1) A Feeding Frenzy on Politicians. A rested Obama and certain members of the House and Senate will be under attack and portrayed as a buffoons concerning botched Reform Bills for banking, the economy, and healthcare.
(2) Michelle and Barack all Show. The American public will find out more about the stale relationship between Michelle and Barack Obama.
(3) Terrorist Attack. Saturn goes retrograde in 10 days. It will immediately square Pluto and activate the Aries Point stirring up a calamity much like Fort Hood if we don’t stay vigilant or a major breakdown in infrastructure. These planets were in action during the Fort Hood Massacre, and formed a T-Square.
(4) No panacea for economy and employment. Unemployment will continue to be an onerous issue through Fall 2010.
(5) Details of new war initiative will emerge and will include: Mexico Opium/Coca War, Afghan Opium War, Pakistani smuggling routes and Palestinian smuggling tunnels
I’ll keep you informed!
