QUESTION: Do You Have a Link to White House Holiday Special that Supposedly Aired Last Night?
I need a link to a watchable archive of some White House holiday special that apparently aired, somewhere, last night.
I keep seeing references made to “an hour long show” that featured all of the extravagant Christmas decorations the Obamas’ splurged on this year — including flying in a staff of 100 “special helpers” from around the country to decorate the 37 trees the Obamas installed in the White House.
Does anyone have any idea what “one hour long show” this was, what network it aired on, and how I can get a link so that I can watch it (and screengrab from it) myself?
I’m working on something special that would make good use of any materials I’d find in this “one hour show”, I guarantee.
You can see the show referenced in this article here: but as is typical with the comments people leave on articles, the commenters talking about this “one hour show” don’t bother to identify it or give any indication of where someone can actually watch it.
Do you know what show people are talking about?

Hi Kevin: I know that every year HGTV, (home & garden TV) usually does a special on the White House Christmas decorations. It would probably be called "White House Christmas 2011" or something like that. Of course I haven't watched for these last few, but enjoyed the Laura Bush and other first ladies in the past. In the past there hasn't been that much focus on the First Lady except that she selects the theme for the year. The show is heavily focused on the decorating, the many many volunteers that make it happen and the WH staff that has to get ready months in advance. There are hoards of people that volunteer and come back every year. (see next)
(cont) The show always talks about the creation of the massive gingerbread house, which lucky farm got to give the Blue Room tree and there is a little bitty lady that makes a cranberry covered topiery for the red room. There was some scandal few years back that Moochell "repurposed" ornaments from other administrations. In years past known artists from each state were chosen to make a decoration, so it was a big deal. This isn't crap they buy at Target that you can spray paint over!
37 does seem like a lot, I would guess 10 plus from other years as there is the big tree in the Blue Room, trees in the residence/private offices, collanade, probably West Wing. I won't hang my White House ornaments until the current occupant is gone! Good Luck
It was on HGTV: http://www.hgtv.com/white-house-christmas-2011/sh…
It's on HGTV. Every year they do a White House Christmas tour, though the last couple years of the Bush Adm. they cut the show to half an hour. I was offended by that, and have not watched the "Obamas Fake Christmas" shows. So I missed the Mao ornaments. Never fear, they will repeat the show, probably a few times.
The pandering is astounding – remember the Mao ornaments of past years, the celebration of criminal regimes – this year it is all about our military families. Must be election season.
If you're charitably inclined you could say Michelle has LEARNED while in office. Couple it with their sudden church attendance, and all cahritable thoughts will fly out the window.
Do anything, say anything to get elected. That's the Obamas.

FYI: Last year there were 19 trees & the theme was "Simple Gifts" :http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/12/02/white-house-holiday-parties-19-trees-simple-gifts-theme/
Can't wait to read your thoughts, Kevin!
I saw a clip this am on the news where they were singing "Joy to the World" and thought the same as you, Rose…election time! Watching Mr. Obama mouth the words to "…the Lord is come" made me: 1)look for a teleprompter, and 2) drop my jaw in amazement at the level the guy will stoop to.
I just look at the still photos shared also by Rose, and they're beautiful. Although I'm cynical enough to think the theme of honoring soldiers is a political ploy, I will still applaud as it is much overdo and a pleasure to see.
I saw video of the Obama family walking to church yesterday. This is the last Christmas before the election. Gotta get it while they can. I think the last time they went to church was Easter.
I believe that makes five times they have been to church in three years. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Fox & Friends this morning showed Justin Beiber (or however he spells his last name) singing a Christmas carol with the boy king. I changed the channel to Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Hey Kevin – …just want to correct your typo; Obama has 57 (not 37) trees this year.
..you know, one for every state…?
