President Bush and the Marine Corps Band reminds us the 45th President will, also, respect and love our military. YOU BETCHA.

Posted on January 30, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 Presidential Campaign, Conservativism, Hillbuzz, Political Figures - The Right, President George W. Bush, Sarah Palin

If we work hard, in two years Obama will be gone and a President who love this country and our military will be in the White House.

Remember that every day that goes by, and ask yourself what YOU can do to help defeat Obama and the Left.

Oh that was fantastic. He’s not that bad of a conductor, actually.

My favorite part was during the first section when he’s singing along, but of course, no one knows the words to that, so he’s just singing “bup-ba-dup-dup” which is great.

Also fantastic is the pianisimo section at the beginning of Stars and Stripes Forever. “Shhhhh.” Love it so much. Gosh I miss Dubya.

I was in a singing group in high school that sang this song for a patriotic day celebration. It has good powerful words.

As a former music teacher who conducted many concerts, I can say that this was very good conducting for someone who was not trained for such. I loved how he had fun with the softer part by conducting with smaller gestures and then returned to larger gestures when the volume increased. He had real fun with it, yet not in any way that would detract from the seriousness of conducting. Thanks for posting this. It was fun to watch.

        2011/01/30 at 1:42 pm

Yup, I’m with you…former music teacher…I mean, the basic 2 beat pattern is easy enough, but what I noticed was that he had obviously practiced…he knew the volume changes, and he knew the ritardando before the big ending.

Why would he take the time to practice something he could have easily faked his way through? Oh, that’s right, because he CARES and he RESPECTS our military and our traditions.

        • Katie says:
          2011/01/30 at 2:15 pm

Not just practiced, but that he was very familiar with the song. He wasn’t just conducting the beat, he also knew where the accents were and who was playing them.

I think if you had Obama do the same thing he wouldn’t do nearly as well partially because he has no discernible sense of humor, and partly because I don’t think he’s spent much time listening to and enjoying patriotic music.

That was fun. I miss Dubya, too. He might not always do or say what you wanted him to do or say, but you knew he did what he did believing it was right for America and her people. You remember us, the average American…does anybody remember us out there?

It reminds me of the all the Cocktail Party (many now in key leadership still) did to undermine him and not support him when needed. He really was on his own the whole time (except for some key help Laura, Condi and Cheney).

We must not let this happen again

They [cocktail party brats] will try it again with Sarah – they are already on record that they don’t want her and will fight her. Hell, they are fighting us!! So, what are we going to do to flush them out of the system or to make sure they understand what is at stake and come to their senses…if they have any left. The Tea Party has it right. We have to get like minded citizens to run for local office – committeemen, freeholders, county executives, municipal council members, mayors of towns and perhaps most important but least satisfying the board of education in every town. Start “small” in making sure conservatives have like minded people in every aspect of government. We can’t just give our towns, our schools, our counties, our states over to the left. We have to fight for it…and not with violence – with ideas and with strong sound people to debate those ideas. Think of it. Sarah Palin started her career as a mom running for a seat on the Wassila council and then mayor of her town. Then ran for Lt. Gov which she lost by only 2000 votes. Then she was “shelved” in my opinion by the governor appointing her to chair the state’s Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. She resigned in protest due to a “lack of ethics” on the Republican board which included the head of the R party!! So she decided to run for governor and won the primary over a sitting governor, which started a blood fued with the most powerful family in Alaska. Still she won the governorship. It’s a great story but also a map of what ethics and morals can get you. It can get you elected, but it can make it the most onerous and difficult path to take. As long as everyone knows that, we should take a page from her book. Never retreat. Reload instead. This woman has a great chance of being the next president of the U.S. And she started out “small”.

      My thoughts exactly!

I really got a kick out of how much GWB was enjoying himself. Just love that childlike enthusiasm he shows. And I always get goosebumps when I hear a military band playing patriotic music.

We live in a time where every mistake, every goof is shown around the world instantly and replayed over and over again. Thank you Kevin for reminding us of one of the many good moments that are often overlooked.

    was this recently?

heck I miss Bush, very much compared to the marxist fraud that is there now.

And I didn’t vote for Bush either time and heck I even protested against him in a couple of DC marches.

*slaps hand to forehead* what was I thinking?!?

This was at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner toward the end of his term. You always knew he loved and appreciated the military and loved his job as Commander in Chief. They returned the love as well. Watching some of the media personnel watching him you have to wonder if some don’t actually miss him too. I wonder when they will break against Dr. Utopia. They will break. They broke against Johnson, and against Carter and they will break against Utopia – the question is…when?

This thread and the events in Egypt – including the orchestrated effort by the Globalist/Soros/Barky crowd to place nobel laureate Mohammed Elbarradei on the Egyptian throne – reminds us how effective Bush was at quietly undermining and dismantling their plans and funding (notably turning off the money flow in the UN Food for Oil sham) for example:

“…It was previously reported that Mohamed ElBaradei, the self-proclaimed leader of the unfolding Egyptian protests, is actually sitting on the Board of Trustees of the Zbigniew Brzezinski/George Soros globalist think-tank, the International Crisis Group.

The mainstream media has been backing ElBaradei’s ownership of the protests, hailing this Nobel Laurette and former UN IAEA director as the potential next president of Egypt and the “hero” of the protests. The New York Times refers to him as the “Nobelist” portraying him as standing “toe-to-toe” with hundreds of riot police and promising to run for president if and only if elections were “free and fair.”…”

check out the mutual love affair between Elbarradei and Barky – while attacking US (not mentioned here are Elbarradei’s similar hatred for Israel)

If we all “know” this in our heads and via instinct, how is it that NONE of the media venues either in the USA or in the Euro countries are talking about the comparison of Ayatollah Khomeini waiting in Paris with his “camp” and this guy.

It is not getting a mention in Australia either…

the damn media are virtually salivating all over this jerk and it is nauseating.

They never do their homework. They never look into the background.

Why are they covering up that this is the man that hid Iran’s nuclear activity?

          It is just so sick…..

I have been swearing at my TV again….

        Mohammed Elbaredei:

        Founded National Association for Change

        “Change is coming for sure”

“I am working to mobilise the popular masses who are pro-change in order to convert the system in Egypt into a democratic system that ensures social justice”

        Recognize the pattern here?

I grieve for the essential goodness of W, doubly so with dangerous Lefties like those mentioned below running things. Read on, courtesy of Weasel Zippers.

“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) introduced a placeholder bill this week that indicates the lawmakers’ intent to craft new comprehensive cybersecurity legislation during the current Congress. (CODE FOR PRESIDENTIAL KILL-SWITCH.)

“Reid was joined in the effort by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), John Kerry (D-Mass.), Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), Carl Levin (D-Mich.), Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) and Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), who all chair committees with jurisdiction over cybersecurity.”
Please note the absence of an “R” after even one name. So much for bipartisanship in this new, golden era of civility.

California granny, we must make sure that in addition to sweeping out the White House of all those leftist loons, we also overturn the majority in the Senate – possibly more important than the Executive Branch is the Legislative branch that actions out the prez. Conservatives can stop him easier if we control both houses. We can stop the spending, cut the costs, zero-base audit every damn dime that goes out the door and question every contract. It’s going to be a propaganda-palooza [stolen from hillbuzzers on a previous post] of an election year for the left. We need zillions of hat pins to puncture every baloon they float.

One of the best videos I’ve seen of GW, is him popping his head out of Marine 1 to return the Marine’s salute. He didn’t do this on the way in because he had one or two of their dogs that he was carrying. As soon as he got them secured, he stood in the doorway and saluted the Marines on duty. Absolutely admire this man.
