Please pray for the families of our Navy SEALs

Posted on August 6, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Ground Reports, Midwest, Red Team - Writing

Dear HillBuzz,
I am heartbroken today at the news of the huge loss of our Navy SEALs and their flight crew and SEAL dog.  My family has 3 people close to us who are members of the Special Operations community.  We know first hand the level of commitment and patriotism these brave men possess.  I was initially relieved when I found out the crash did not involve anyone we or our 3 young men knew, but that did not last long.  I began thinking of each and everyone of these brave soldiers and their grieving families.  Then I began thinking of their Commander-in-Chief and my sadness began being mixed with great anger.

Each of these heros knew that they were being asked to possibly give up their lives in service to our country when they swore their oath to “protect and defend”.  They place their trust in their Commander-in-Chief to not ask this of them unless it is absolutely necessary.   They trust him to only place them in harms way if absolutely no other option exists.  This trust has been utterly abused by their current CIC.

During the Debt Ceiling debate, Obama threatened that he might not pay our military if the Debt Ceiling was not raised.  This was taking those whom he has asked to be prepared to give “the last full measure” and trashing their trust they have in their CIC to have their best interests at heart.  He asks each and every one  to be prepared to give up their lives and then used their pay as a hostage in his political games.  Mr. Obama, SHAME  ON YOU!

Let me say this again;  Mr. Obama, SHAME ON YOU.  You ask for their lives and totally abuse your position of leadership and trust as their Commander-in-Chief.  Will you look at the family members of each fallen SEAL and say “Yes, I threatened to not pay your son/husband/father for putting his life on the line.  Hey, I’m just trying to get reelected.”? Your words of sympathy and gratitude for their ultimate sacrifice are hollow and soulless.  They come out of the mouth of a man who is not fit to carry the title “Commander-in-Chief”.

Obama needs to be court-martialed.  The only way we can do to this is to work hard to make sure that his court-martial is carried out at the polls in 2012.

Please join me in prayer, or thoughts of sympathy and gratitude, for the loved ones of our fallen heros.  We may have a man in the White House who doesn’t understand the level of devotion and commitment of our military.  But I know we have a country that does.

Respectfully,
A Proud Supporter of our Military

When reading the AP article, it appears they were going on a raid after a high target. Why would Obama order this type of dangerous mission. Why not do a less risky manuever and bomb the place rather then risking all these lives. I sure hope this was not a politically motivated order hoping to get another OBL situation and using our troops for his political gain.

I also have to wonder why Obama sent the people responsible for taking down Osama bin Laden on this dangerous mission.

      Did he do this deliberately?

      If so, why?

Does Obama have anything to gain with these heroes now dead?

There are always so many questions when it comes to Obama’s motivations.

I had this same question! With this man, I always question his motive. Why were these special ops guys not better protected by logistics? Why take this kind of risk when they don't to? With the tools we have at hand, why couldn't this have been done more safely????

I hate to say it, but the former jr. sen. from IL may not have had anything to do with it.

These guys are professionals. They go in, do the job, get out. I suspect that their tour wasn't over and they would have resented being pulled out to let someone else stand in their place. That would be telling them they couldn't take care of themselves.

Why go in? Maybe to capture a person, maybe to gather documents. Not everything can be done from 30,000 feet.

So sad. God Bless these brave men and their dog. This is a sad day. There is nothing worse than serving under a CIC who you know deep down does not support you or the mission that you are prepared to die for. God bless the families.

I just read on CNN that they were on a mission to extract another team that was pinned down. I have no words suitable. I know that if these men had to choose the #1 reason they would offer up their own lives, it would be to help save brothers and sisters-in-arms.

I know there will be words said by the president honoring these men. But they will come from a man that has absolutely no understanding of what it means to serve this country with total selflessness.

I can't help but wonder what President Bush would do at this time.

Thank you Kevin. May they rest in peace knowing that there are Americans fighting to ensure that their deaths were not in vain; that there is a brighter day coming for America. Thank you for your sacrifice. May you enjoy the presence of God in perfect peace,

O God of spirits and of all flesh, who trampled down
death and overcame the devil, and bestowed life on your
world, yourself O Lord set to rest the souls of your servants
who have fallen asleep, in a place of light, in a place of
green pastures, in a place of rest whence all pain, sorrow
and sighing have been driven away. Forgive them every
transgression committed in word, in deed, or in thought,
for you are a good God, the Lover of mankind; yet there is
no man born who does not transgress, and you alone are
without sin, your righteousness is everlasting, and your word is true.

For you are the resurrection, the life, and the repose of your
servants who have fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and
to you we offer glory, together with your Unoriginate Father,
and your all holy, good and life-giving Spirit, Now and
ever and to the ages of ages.

    Amen

May God who has the power
over both the living and the
dead, who himself rose again from
    the dead, Christ our true God;
through the prayers of his all-pure
    mother; of the holy, glorious
    and all-laudable apostles; of our
    holy and god-bearing fathers
    and mothers; and of all the saints;
    establish in the mansions of
the righteous, the souls of his
    servants who have been taken
from us; may he give them rest in
    the bosom of Abraham, and
number them among the Just; and
may he have mercy on all of us
for he is good and loves mankind.

    Amen.

Give eternal rest, O Lord, in
blessed repose, to the souls of your
    servants, who have departed
this life, and make their memory
    eternal.

Thank you, Bridget. I wish I could take credit for the words. It's pretty much straight out of the Eastern Orthodox Panikhida service.

My wife and I tell people that the Orthodox "do good dead people stuff." Everything is chanted or sung, and there is a great amount of incense used. As a subdeacon (hence my screen name) I've assisted our priest at a fair number of services – sometimes, to the detriment of the priest ears, being the only 'choir' available (can't have any service with just the priest), and I can't carry a tune if you duct tape it to my hands.

I know that since BHO, who is not a muslim, became president I am suspicious of everything. This terrible tragedy had to be an inside job. It was a way for the Muslims to exact vengence on those who took out OBL. Gd those who have betrayed us.

No, please read the facts. They were using a Chinook helicopter. It is very slow.

Just like in Islamabad, there was some fire, and they had grad rockets. It was a lucky shot.

…[M]any Muslims across the world fundamentally doubt the events of the Bin Laden raid. Some believe Bin Laden is still alive. Others believe he died long ago. Others believe that the events of May 2 were staged to allow the Obama administration to make an exit from Afghanistan. As Mr. Schmidle’s is the first (and so far only) account of the drama, these problems cast a pale of doubt upon the events that transpired that evening… http://bigpeace.com/jpollak/2011/08/06/is-the-new…

This is just terrible….I tend to go on and on, but I almost literally have no words for this….

I keep thinking back to that prayer rally in Texas that the progressives are making a big deal out of. I'm pretty agnostic, but I have a hard time seeing what harm prayers on behalf of this country could do on a weekend like this…
