Pathetic turnout for May Day Rally in LA
Boo Hoo…..the Los Angeles May Day rally to support illegal aliens and their “rights” was a bust this year. It looks like only a few hundred people showed up. This is in contrast to the 2006 rally when there were well over 100,000 protesters.
( LA Times ) By 10 a.m. only a few hundred immigrant rights and labor activists had gathered at Broadway and Olympic Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles to rally public support for legislation that would legalize the nation’s 11 million illegal immigrants.
“It’s really sad,” Luis Ortiz, an ice cream vendor who has been coming to the rallies for the last 15 years, said of the small turnout. “I’ve sold very little, almost nothing.”
Plenty of police officers on foot and bike patrol were on hand to monitor the crowd.
But Sunday’s turnout was a far cry from the excitement and unity that infused the May Day march in 2006, when hundreds of thousands of people marched through downtown Los Angeles.
I do feel bad for the street vendors who had hoped to make some money.
Perhaps they should target the Tea Party rallies instead.

The people in the rally would have to HAVE money, for the vendors to make any money. What a shame….not!!
Happy DBL (Death of Bin Laden) Day Commies and Illegals!
If you're wondering where the crowd was, it was doing the Mexican Hat Dance on Osama Bin Laden's proverbial grave. I suppose technically it was May 2nd in Pakistan when Osama was axed, but we heard about it here on May 1st, and anything that can suck the life out of the commies and illegals on May 1st is good enough for me!
I would love it if the ice cream vendors would show up to the Tea Party Rallies. Most of the Tea Party gangs actually have money to buy ice cream.
If you can't draw a crowd of socialist in a liberal city like LA, you can't draw a crowd anywhere. No sympathies from me.
Well, of course the turnout was low…it was on a Sunday…these people would have had to give up their own day off to attend. Now, if it was a weekday, where they could miss work, that would be different! (and yes, I know it's a big assumption to even consider they have jobs at all)
The irony! Luis Ortiz, the capitalist, didn’t do well at a Communist event. Hummmmm
You are correct, he should move to a capitalist loving group.
Amazing, I live in L.A. and heard nothing about this march. No news at all about it.
tax the rich was one sign, what do you do when there money is gone?
