Obamacare’s Epic Smackdown: Over Two Million Ohioans Voted for Healthcare Freedom
In the days following the November election, the Democrat-Controlled Media didn’t have much to say about Ohio’s defeat of Obamacare by a 66% to 34% margin. They were too busy crowing about the passage of Issue 2, which defeated the State of Ohio’s efforts to rein in out-of-control government unions.
So instead of government union members having to pay 15% of their healthcare and pension costs (versus the zero percent many of them pay now), Ohio’s municipalities now look forward to years of unfunded pension liabilities, bankrupt local governments, and layoffs of union members (way to go, AFL-CIO!)
Ohio is one of four states with unfunded pension liabilities that are above 35% of the state’s entire gross domestic product. That fact isn’t going away, and Ohioans need to be reminded who was responsible for this looming fiscal tsunami when the destruction finally hits.
The good news is that Ohio voters turned out in droves to flip off Barack Hussein (not a Muslim, definiately an America-hating Marxist, probably gay) Obama and his efforts to force us all to spend money we don’t have on health insurance premiums we can’t afford.
Issue 3 won by the largest margin of any citizen initiative in Ohio history. It won in all 88 counties–even the Democrat-owned counties near Cleveland, Toledo and Dayton (the heavily industrial, union-infested counties).
What’s the lesson here? TURNOUT.
Off-year elections like this typically have voter turnout in the 45% range. Issue 3 got more YES votes than NO votes on Issue 2. In fact, 2,221,175 Ohioans told the Federal government to take Obamacare and shove it.
That means there may have been two separate blocs of voters turning out on November 8th–the Tea Party bloc to vote Yes on Issue 3, and the union bloc to vote No on Issue 2.
And the Tea Party movement delivered the goods, spending virtually nothing to defeat Obamacare, while the union thugs had to extort over $36 million from their members to protect the 350,000 government union workers in Ohio.
What does this mean?
It means that money alone is not enough to defeat freedom-loving Americans.
It means that a determined minority of registered voters can still determine the outcome of the election if they focus on turnout and get-out-the-vote efforts. Instead of whining like Eeyores that Mittens Romneycare is the “inevitable” or “electable” candidate, determined freedom-fighters simply need to put down the Pepsi, get up off the couch, and start going door-to-door for their favorite non-Cocktail Party GOP candidate.
Never forget: normal, responsible, hardworking, quietly patriotic Americans ARE IN THE MAJORITY.
The union goons, Marxists, and Occupoopers only make up 25% of the electorate AT MOST.
Obama is a one-term president, and we don’t have to settle for an “it’s his turn,” John McCain II, turnout-suppressing, Senate-losing, cucumber and mayo sandwich like Mittens Romneycare.
Ohio just defeated Obamacare…so why would the Buckeye State vote for Obamacare-Lite?
