Now vs. Then: Whatever happened to that “crusade against other people’s obesity” Michelle Antoinette Obama was going on about?

If, as First Spouse, you are going to chide parents for what they feed their families…and if you are going to go so far as to call poor eating habits and obesity a national security issue…then you should not serve bratwurst, cheeseburgers, Buffalo wings,  and deep-dish pizza at the White House EVER.  Not even at a Super Bowl party.  Because it makes you look ridiculous and exposes you as the hypocrite  you very much are.

Surely, expert Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford could have created “healthy snacks” for the Obamas’ Super Bowl party…if she had been asked to…by a First Family that reportedly eats more junk and fried food than anyone who’s lived in the White House before them (and that includes not just Bill Clinton, but William Howard Taft as well).

Side note, if you are not a First Spouse, you probably shouldn’t serve a Michelle Antoinette-approved menu either…lest you receive an unexpected visit from the Charybdis of Lake Michigan, Oprah Winfrey.  Bratwurst, cheeseburgers, Buffalo wings, deep-dish pizza…it’s like chumming the waters off the Farallones…summoning an ancient, primal hunger…you’re risking life and limb in moments reminiscent of old ‘ 80s Kool-Aid commercials where the Charybdis bursts through the wall and heads straight for your buffet, her Ampullae of Lasagini afire, detecting the irresistible combination of marinara, mozzarella, blue cheese, cheddar, and various forms of processed ungulates.

As with everything else in the Obama White House, the “crusade against other people’s obesity” does not involve anything Michelle Antoinette or her celebrity friends (like Oprah) eat.  It’s just another way for her to look down upon regular Americans and what they like, telling them not to have things they enjoy, because then there’s more of those things for the Obamas and pals.

Sounds a lot like what’s going to happen under Obamacare too.

I try to not rely too much on the hypocrisy card.

Sure, it’s useful as a shorthand. But their plans would be just as vile if Moochelle looked like a model and Barry didn’t have moobs. (Which he totally does.)

I sometimes worry that we’ll lose sight of the main problem here – which is that individual freedoms mean the right to eat what you want and feed your kids as you see fit.

If people are so worried about people not having free choice (the old “freedom is an illusion” canard) then they need to focus on agricultural subsidies, the ridiculous planning regulations and the ever increasing crony capitalism in American life.

None of the things this group has forced and/or tried to force on us has included them or their owners and friends. Who has Obamacare? Not them. Who has to alter their diets? Not them. Who gets bailouts? OK them but we have to pay for it. Who has to redistribute their wealth? Absolutely NOT them!!!

If I owned a hamburger joint I would change my special on the menu to read “Barack Obama cheeseburger with Super Size Moochelle French Fries”.

Liberals wouldn’t like it much but I bet I’d get the business from conservatives!!

A local burger place here in AL (http://www.soulburgercafe.com/) does actually have an Obama burger – “Big Daddy Swiss Cheese, Tomatoes, Bacon, Mayo, Pickles” although I’d say it needs a bit more pork product represented.

They mean it as a compliment, but I definitely giggle when I order it.

I have created low carb and low fat versions of all the superbowl goodies. You name it, we had it in a healthy version. If a “regular” person like me can figure out how to have a great superbowl party with healthy food then why on earth can’t the WH chef do the same, only better?

I agree that Moo is nothing more than the biggest hypocrite ever to live in the White House.

That kind of food is very bad for the heart. The amount of cholesterol and the fats are dangerous.

On top of that, being a woman has a lot of disadvantages and one of them is going through Menonpaus. I think Moo Moo is well on the way to going through menopause.

My point is this, when menopause begins estrogen levels drop. When estrogen levels drops this changes the LDL and HDL levels in our bodies. It means that the bad cholestoral levels rise and the good levels drop.

Another issue with this food is that it causes stomach problems… an increase in squishies, complete with the farts and bad odour.

It aint pretty and I would not want to be around Moo after she had eaten that kind of food because she would smell.

It’s a bummer of a problem isn’t it? You preach to others about what they should not do while you can’t help but to crave after these same forbidden foods. This is always going to be a problem when you want to take away freedoms from others while denying yourself of these freedoms is intolerable. That’s what this wh is all about – hypocrisy.

Many years ago, I read an article put together by a German body builder. He recommends that serious devotee to this type of competition adhere to a strict diet. But, he also said that when he did go home to visit his family, he lets himself enjoy the food at home. I appreciated his honesty.
