Newt Gingrich’s entire senior campaign staff resigns
It’s being reported that Newt Gingrich’s entire senior staff have quit his 2012 campaign. Not a whole lot more is being said except that Gingrich made a statement (on Facebook no less) that he will continue his bid to become the 2012 GOP nominee….
“I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring,” Gingrich wrote. “The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles.”
Apparently his campaign staff weren’t on board with all of Newt’s solutions…
“When the campaign and the candidate disagree on the path, they’ve got to part ways,” said Rick Tyler, a longtime Gingrich spokesman who was among those who left the campaign.
Hmmm…very mysterious. I guess we’ll know more when these staffers start to say more but as of now, they’re being pretty tight lipped. I think maybe this could be the beginning of the end of Mr. Gingrich’s campaign.
I bet Anthony Weiner is LOVING this little media distraction.

Um, yeah, neither are we, Newt. Cut your losses now and get out. You're done.
Way to go, Newt. You’ve embarrassed yourself again. Quit, before you do it a third time. Go back to writing books, that you’re probably good at.
LOL
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reasons why these candidates have to be FULLY vetted … !
… check out this disappointing statement from Cain
Herman Cain: Homosexuality is a sin and a choice http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20070225-5…
/wiz,
Cain accurately stated what the Bible teaches.
I don't recall the passage where he bible states homosexuality is a choice. Can you site the chapter and verse please?
<a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+1&version=NASB">Romans 1:18-32, <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus%2018&version=NASB">Leviticus 18:22-23, and <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus%2020&version=NASB">Leviticus 20:13 are good places to start.
I do not see what the big deal is. He stated his belief. I think a relevant question you should ask him/his campaign is would he support legislation that would impeded exercising your freedom with a consenting adult in the privacy of you own home? If he said yes, now I think you have a right to be concerned.
He is entitled to his faith and his interpretation and as long as he is not making any hostile move to diminish your free-reasonable expression of your sexual orientation in th eprivacy of you rown home.
One other thing you might want to consider, if you go down the path that homosexual behavior is not a choice you do leave yourself open for presumptive future genetic screening of the fetus and abortion there of on that basis.
"Apparently his campaign staff weren’t on board with all of Newt’s solutions…"
Also, the campaign staff apparently weren't on board the cruise ship touring the Greek Islands that Newt & his wife (version 3.0) were on last week. Heck of a campaign strategy there, Newt!!
We had no idea Gingrich even had a presidential campaign – but we did know the only thing he was campaigning for was a post with JFK or the Aspen Institute = where ha can further his calling to end man-made global warming – and help pay off that $500,000 Tiffany credit line
I wonder which side of the issues Newt's Staff was on? Was Newt too much of a moderate RINO, or too conservative for them. It would tell which way the politcal operatives are leaning. More of the same or radical change. Just a thought.
Some of those senior staffers were on the Rick Perry campaign for governor. I live in Texas and it is rumored that Gov Perry is getting ready to announce, in spite of what is being reported. http://news.yahoo.com/s/dailycaller/20110609/pl_d…
Gingrich is out. Maybe he doesn't realize it yet?
I cannot pretend to know what is going on with Newt. But I know this: His comments about the Paul Ryan proposals to cut the country's debt, etc., did him in politically as far as I am concerned. It did not matter what sort of excuses he made after his comments hit the fan. I did not believe him. And I was appalled that he would throw his own party–not just Paul Ryan and others in Congress, but people like me, too–under the bus. I wish him no personal ill. But Newt really disappointed me.
On a more positive note, I'd like to hear what Perry has to say. He is governor of a state that is doing quite well, all things considered. Texas surely isn't in the hole (dug by tax-and-spend Dems and go-along-to-get-along Pubbies) that Obama's home state of Illinois is. Illinois is my home state; I was born here. And its economy is in the toilet.
Agreed. The comments about "right wing social engineering" put his campaign in the ditch before it could even gain momentum. The people on his staff must have known this and decided that there was no reason to continue. His campaign is over.
In contrast to Herman Cain's statement on homosexuality, did anyone see how Romney answered the question coming from Piers Morgan?
""It's a valid question, and my answer is, 'Nice try,' "I'm going to tell you that, as a leader of the American people I will do everything in my power to treat all people with respect and dignity and to advance the rights people have to choose their own course in life." — Gov. Mitt Romney

wow. the one right turn for mittens. but it's not enough to get this mayo sandwich elected. i hope others learn from this. yes, you can have faith and integrity thru it, but you are not a spokesperson for any church so don't push that on us.
If my gov. Perry runs, he better get ready for comparing him to being just another Bush from Texas.
Of course, I'd vote for Perry.
Additional info about the rats deserting Newt's sinking cruise ship, from Jan Crawford, CBS News: "There was no way Perry would run for president without his top political consultant, Dave Carney. And it also would be nice to have his former campaign manager, Rob Johnson, on board. Unfortunately for Perry, both of those guys were working on Gingrich 2012." And of course, now, there's talk of Perry entering the Pres race.
H/t to SisterToldjah for the above. Comments re Perry at ST range from "Perry is the one entrant I think could keep Palin from running." to "He is a known Bilderberger."
Hmmm. I haven't researched Perry. I've heard both praise and pan. Any HB'ers with reliable background on him?
"Aides to Newt Gingrich have resigned from his presidential campaign in protest of what they felt was a takeover by Callista Gingrich, the candidate’s wife since 2000…. The last straw for the campaign staff was Gingrich’s decision to go on a two-week cruise in the Mediterranean…." http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/problem-was-w…

Where are my other wives and concubines? If we are going to get all Biblical I'd like some of the advantages too.
