NEW YORK GROUND REPORT
Dear HillBuzz,
Hi my second ground report from New York–outside the city, Rockland County, land of the highest taxes anywhere. People–first, to understand NY’s problems you have to know that governors come and go but Sheldon Silver, crooked as a dog’s hind leg, and his Dems are forever. We are fighting not only to get conservatives into the national scene via Congress, but to get control of the Assembly and Senate here which is as bad as California and D.C. combined. Silver is funding 2 panty waists who can’t discuss the issues: Zebrowski (whose Dad was a conservative) Jr the liberal spawn, a lawyer (what else) who votes for tax increases regularly, and David Carlucci who as a clerk here in the county is already earning 6 figures (!!!) and is off to Albany to play Silver’s puppet.
For some reason we have brain dead folk who still believe in liberal ways. Zebrowski was so low as to personally smear his opponent, Frank Sparaco (Navy vet and small businessman), in the local paper with a story that has no truth at all; calculated to damage despite it being a lie. As damaging a story, for example, as would be one that Zebrowski molested a 13 yr old high school boy in his New City office! So politicians are desperate. Sparaco, as a local legislator, has never raised our taxes and because of it, is despised by most of his colleagues in the legislature, some of who have WFP/ socialist ties. So we went out this weekend to do palm cards for Sparaco, had moderate success. Encountered an orange haired senior biddy who haughtily pushed my card away, to which I said, Well I hope you like higher taxes. To which she croaked “I can vote the way I want!”—so there’s the problem. People are so dyed in the wool Democrat without realizing they have been left high and dry by the Dems long ago, that it is an uphill battle. The day before this, we had a rally with several issues: No Ground 0 mosque, support AZ and border enforcement, repeal Deathcare, etc….We had loads of support, honking cars, etc…and only one mad hatter, a woman w/ butch cut and baseball cap shouting from her car that it was “UnAmerican to ask for papers”—SIGH—-what a maroon, Bugs would have said. We were there a couple hours with some vets who regularly gather to support our military.
Some good news–a couple teenage boys in skating gear came by and demonstrated with us for awhile, just saw us and liked the idea. We didnt have a lot of people at our rally, but we got support from passing cars, and i have a theory about this: just as economists think that the stock market may be correcting due to its belief that the Republicans will win, I believe voters are already keyed in to flush the libs back to the sewers from whence they came. No need to demonstrate when you are busy, and when you know what is up. That is why I was not that bothered by our small numbers. I will be phonebanking my precinct, but if I happen to encounter a Dem I will be sure to encourage them to vote on Nov. 3. If we ever get control of Albany we can redistrict because this area is totally gerrymandered. Very frustrating, but we are not giving up….lots of Paladino signs around only a few Cumo signs. Unfortunately, the invertebrate slug that is our Congressman, Eliot Engel, who cowers under Nancy’s skirts, (phew! what an image) will be re-elected because of the gerrymandering. Anyway we are fighting on. Liberalism is detestable and must be fought wherever you find it. It kills people and takes their freedom.

Dear HillBuzz,
Writing from upstate New York, Saratoga Springs, almost another state when compared to the city. We have some of the highest taxes in the country, and probably the most corrupt state government too. People are frustrated and totally fed up with the leadership in this state. This election statewide will probably end up with more of the same in state government, unless many Democrats stay home. It’s hard for me to believe that this election, probably the best environment to change things around here, all the incumbents have double digit leads. The Republican party leaders must either be on drugs or just plain brain dead. Personally I have a simple system for my votes, if you’re in your out, easy. Hopefully I’m not alone and my assessment is way off, a girl can dream right? It is so very frustrating to see people continue with the status quo, come on Chuck Schumer, please.
Locally in NY 20 we have a great candidate running for congress In Col. Chris Gibson, http://chrisgibsonforcongress.com/. I’ve been working hard talking to people and getting our information out there. Chris has pulled ahead by 2% this week so we still have plenty of work to do. We just found out they are shipping Bill Clinton in the day before the election, next Monday. We will be there with bells on holding our Gibson signs for all to see. Wish us luck, we are going to need it for the home stretch.
Hoping for an October surprise!
Maureen

Yay Rockland County (Suffern H.S. 1981)!
Curious, MG, if the voters up there in the (relatively far) burbs are primarily Obamabots, or not; the line separating the zones of each is somewhere above NYC, but not sure how close… ;-(
Oh, that’s alright. Many of us were suffern in high school. I know I was, from the sheer boredom of it all.

We’ve been gerrymandered here in CD 17—they took the thin strip near the Hudson, pieces of Rockland and stuck us with the Bronx which is overwhelmingly liberal so we get canceled. State assembly is the same way, districts drawn to cancel all conservatives as much as possible, so we have to fight super hard to make a difference. We have been fighting for over a year since tax day–i hope we can bring some sense to NY.
.
I see you got right to the point.
From the 108 Assembly District, it looks like Indie Tim Gordon could get beat by Steve Mclaughlin, a Chris Gibson-like candidate with tremendous appeal and two years of election experience under his belt.
Gibson amd McGlauighlin are awesome. The real deal. Right now I’d say McGlaighlin has the edge over Gibson coz of Murphy’s money.
In Albany County, Breslin is being seriously challenged by Repub/covervative Bob Domencii, a war hero, first commmander of hazmat at WTC and now a small biz owner.
I went to the one debate Breslin agreed to and Domenici wiped the floor with him.
But the good ole boys club is alive and well up here and Breslin is going for his 8th term. He;s also minority majority leader.
My husband works with Reslin’s brother, and he’s not voting for him.
Breslin
Hi Maureen,
(Moe?)What a great right up about our guy Chris Gibson! He totally rocks. I was out going door to door on Saturday for him and would say that of the people I spoke with 75-80% said they are voting for him. We are in Queensbury/Glens Falls after all, Murphy’s “hometown.” I saw Chris on Saturday night and he had gone door to door with the Warren County Coordinator, Mark Westcott last week and said the percentage of people he spoke to was about the same (80%) in his corner. We still have our work cut out for us. I am going to participate in a literature drop, the convoy on Saturday and then head to the rally and Phantom’s game on Saturday night.
Did you go to any of the debates? Did you see that his quote, “the only thing I’ve shipped overseas in the last ten years is myself and my paratroopers fighting for your freedom” was quoted in a Wall Street Journal article today? What a great, great line!
Thanks so much for bringing his name to the attention of Hillbuzz. Great job!
“The only thing I’ve shipped overseas in the last ten years is myself and my paratroopers fighting for your freedom”
It reminded me of Scott Brown saying “This is not the Kennedy seat, it is The People’s seat”, loved it! Yes, I am Moe and Maureen. Thanks for our kind words.
D@amn I hope you’re right about Gibson. Greene County seems to be Murphy territory.
I covered Gibson several times and he’s smart, articulate, honorable, honest and a pleasure to interview.
I just hope to he11 the guy challenging Gillibrand makes mincemeat of her, too.
I think he must be doing well; I saw a Gillibrand attack ad last night hitting Dio Guardi for (of all things) reckless spending!
I could smell the desperation.
BTW, I’m reporting from Greene and Albany Counties – the capital district.
And wouldn’t it be sweet if Schumer got hit over the head by that 2X4 he wanted to take to HRC’s head?
Last night I was watching local TV around 11PM. Nothing but political ads.
Then comes an ad supporting Chuck-U Schumer. promoting some green jobs loan that he got for a local business.
I almost fell off the chair. He’s not up for election and still needs to run ads? Desperation or ego?
In fact, he is up for election.
A great guy named Jay Townsend is running against Chuckles. Check out his site and consider supporting him!

Bravo. . .to the citizens of New York. . . fighting against the liberal stranglehold and to their awesome Candidates!!!
Carpetbagger Murphy lives not far from where I do in Glens Falls in a beautiful home across the street from the YMCA. Would you believe that his neighbor (the house right next door) has a huge billboard sized sign on his front lawn that says Gibson for Congress? What does that tell you about Murphy? I laugh out loud everytime I drive by it.
I would love to see Gillibrand defeated by Dio Guardi and Schumer beaten by Townsend. I am praying!
I live in Greene Cty in the 20th District. I have been inspired by Chris Gibson and decided it was my turn to help. There are many more Gibson signs (on people’s lawns) if this is an indication of anything. I have done many sign waves in the area with a pretty good response. I started dropping literature and am talking Chris up to everyone I meet. It is scary when you see how many registered voters don’t vote! We need every single vote to win. I have also met Steve McLaughlin, great candidate. Work hard until the bitter end and then pray, pray and pray!

We are ahead!
Take this with a grain of salt – I don’t trust Sienna – but they have Gibson up 9 pts over Murphy.
Wow, good news if the Siena poll is correct. I live in Clifton Park, and I just don’t get a sense up or down for anyone. CP is traditonally Republican so I’m hoping we go that way.
Not to depress anyone, but I heard commentary today that if Harry Reid gets voted out,but the Dems maintain the Senate, that upChuck Schumer,is tops on the list for Senate Majority leader. How depressing!!! Between him and Dick Durbin.(Apparent roomates, whatever that means). I know nothing about Durbin, but Schmer grates on me like nails on a chalkboard.
Those two are pretty much on the same plane of vileness.
I was just lamenting to my husband this morning about how unreliable the Siena poll is and here they come out with Gibson 9 points ahead! I can only imagine what this news is doing to Murphy’s psyche so even if it is wrong, I see it as good news.
I am a teacher and went down to the faculty room this afternoon to see a stack of flyers in support of Murphy. I will head back there tomorrow armed with my Gibson palm cards. I might even put one in every mailbox. Equal time to both candidates…
As I’ve written elsewhere, what are the odds that a polling organization connected to a college/university, and statistically, lots of liberal students, is going to poll without an agenda, conscious or not? Siena? Quinipiac? Etc….
Good point!
and I’m a Siena grad!
