NEW HOBBY: Watching for how Hillary Clinton will retaliate against the White House
My boyfriend Justin’s mother CarolAnne has been leaving messages on our phone all day today. She’s a major Hillary hater, one of the most rabid ones I’ve ever encountered. It is a grand cosmic joke that her son ended up with me, a guy who sunk everything he had into Hillary’s 2008 presidential campaign and who maintains a personal affection for the woman he saw wronged and brutalized in those primaries by a Democrat Party that aimed the Alinsky war machine on one of its own (just so it could make history by electing an unqualified black man to the presidency instead of the woman who would have made a much better president).
Justin’s mom is 65 and doesn’t seem to have a lot of hobbies. She’s recently retired but hasn’t found anything to really fill her day, so some of her harassing phone calls are just the natural result of boredom. Then there’s also the fact she doesn’t like that her son is gay or living with another man, and one way to express displeasure over that is to be mean-spirited towards me in ways that are creative. Hence, since she knows I worked on the Hillary ’08 campaign she likes to stab me with anything anti-Hillary she hears on the radio or sees on the tee-vee and fills up the voicemail on the land line (which Justin doesn’t really use) because she knows I use that phone for work and will check the messages on it. I think this is CarolAnne’s way of being mean to me in an area that she can deny she meant me any harm, because she’ll claim “I was just talking about the news!” as she also says “And I left the message for my son so if somebody else heard it then that’s his problem!”.
I just roll my eyes and remember that I will be 65 someday and perhaps I’ll be hobby-less too at that point in life. Maybe passive-aggressive prank calling will be appealing to me thirty years from now. I guess I should leave my options open. CarolAnne is a good mom to Justin and she loves him very much, so this is just something I have to deal with as long as I am with him. She did this to the other guys Justin was with in the past, though she picked other subjects besides Hillary. It’s just her way of dealing with the fact she has a gay son…by finding ways to be mean to his boyfriend by telephone without her being called on the carpet for it.
The other Hillary-haters in my life are also crowing today, by filling up the in-box with “Did you see Jay Carney throw Hillary under the bus!” messages to me via email or in comments on this site. This was all inspired by Carney’s press conference today, where he claims that Joe Biden was only talking about the President himself and the White House staff when he said in last night’s debate that “no one knew about requests for more security in Libya”. The implication from those in the He-Man-Hillary-Haters-Club being that Carney “threw Hillary under the bus” and that she’s going to be another casualty of this administration…along with all the other people whose lives Obama ruined to protect himself.
Clearly none of these people have ever met Hillary Clinton.
I’m sorry, but Justin’s mom CarolAnne is a foolish person when it comes to Hillary. Her blind hatred gets in the way of consistency…because Hillary can’t simultaneously be the most crafty and clever manipulator on the planet while also being powerless to prevent herself from being thrown under a bus. That just doesn’t make any damn sense, but is the natural result of obsessing over one person for the last twenty years. CarolAnne has gone on for HOURS about the various people that Hillary has supposedly murdered in that time, including some who’ve died in elaborate James Bond-style schemes that Hillary personally arranged; CarolAnne insists that Hillary killed former NBC anchor Tim Russert this way, using poison she slipped into his tea that was specially designed to hit his body some hours later and kill him in the studio with a heart attack “to teach the media a lesson”. Someone with the ability to do things like this is not just a master poisoner of literary proportions but a wizard who should be teaching at Hogwarts. If Hillary has the ability to do things like this, then why isn’t this woman ruling the entire world?
But according to CarolAnne’s eight phone calls (and counting!) today, Hillary’s helpless and defenseless and at the mercy of Barack Obama. CarolAnne’s fantasies are of her kicking and screaming as Obama and Biden toss her under a moving bus…with no magic left in her to stop them.
Tomorrow, of course, CarolAnne will no doubt be back to her theory that Hillary doesn’t fly around on a State Department plane but instead travels the world on an iron chariot pulled by an assemblage of dragons, lightning shooting from betwixt her fingers and people turned to stone with her gaze.
None of this makes any sense to me and I just wish CarolAnne would pick a narrative she enjoys and stick with it. Either Hillary is stupid enough to be Obama’s willing scapegoat whenever he needs it…or she’s a magical villain straight out of fairytales who flies around riding dragons. She. Can’t. Be. Both!
I fully expect Hillary Clinton to do something to retaliate against both Jay Carney personally and also Joe Biden in the next few weeks. She’ll do it before the election…but won’t touch Obama until after he’s defeated, in which case I’m sure a lot of things will miraculously be made available to the incoming Romney administration (and its Justice Department) that were supposed to be shredded or buried in vaults somewhere. Ooops! Remember: Hillary Clinton can never do anything that harms Obama because she needs black people for her 2016 campaign…and the only thing that can keep her from being the nominee in 2016 is if she doesn’t have the support of blacks. Being Secretary of State for the last four years was to show blacks that there was no hard feelings between Hillary and Obama and that all the racial rhetoric Obama churned up against the Clintons in the primaries should be forgotten. Hillary can’t be the next nominee without blacks firmly behind her, and she knows it.
But I think Carney and Biden are available for her to embarrass in some way. She’s really good at doing this, too. You’ll have to watch closely, though, because it will be something subtle that explodes against these guys and ensures that the Benghazi scandal stays firmly with the White House. I would not be surprised if something on tape leaks that shows Carney and/or Biden talking about the security situation in a way that makes it clear Biden was lying through his teeth last night at the debate.
There’s no way this woman allows anyone to throw her under a bus. People have been trying to do this since before I was even in high school and I’ve watched her masterfully deflect every attempt to destroy her. Not only that, but she’s done this gleefully. This is fun for her. It is one of the reasons I’ve always responded to Hillary Clinton…because she effortlessly survives every attempt to obliterate her. I just love that about her. She’s like a prize fighter in a pantsuit with rocks in her boxing gloves for added punch.
Being from Cleveland — a town that all the late nigh comedians used to mock mercilessly in the 80s when I was a kid — I think I just naturally related to someone who always seemed to be maligned but never let it affect her. I loved that about Hillary Clinton and I still do, because sometimes I just don’t know how she’s even able to do it. The only other person who’s ever shown anything like this on the national stage is Sarah Palin, and it’s the same quality that I love in her: this absolute refusal to allow her detractors and attackers to win. When punched, both Hillary and Sarah punch back in their own ways…though Palin is more fireworks and in-your-face while Hillary is more likely to (according to CarolAnne) have someone’s brakes cut or their tea poisoned. I just love that they are two women who dance over the ruins of those who would destroy them.
It’s sad for me that the way history’s shaping up neither of these women will be our first female president, but anything can happen in this country. I’d actually love to see them go head to head against each other someday, but it’s doubtful that would happen. I honestly don’t know who would win but I know the loser would be gracious and more than a little proud of being outsmarted by the other…in the way that master chess players sometimes relish a loss because they got the chance to play against someone who was truly remarkable in that match.
I don’t think either Joe Biden or Barack Obama are on Hillary’s level of gamesmanship. Taunting her, or attempting to toss her under a bus, is a dangerous game for Obama/Biden to be playing just 25 days before the election.
Especially if Hillary thinks she won’t really run in 2016 and doesn’t need to play nice with Obama to keep black people happy anymore.
What would stop her from using her magical powers to bring the whole administration down?
I’d love to see that, frankly…and will be watching for signs of anything Hillary will do (possibly as early as tomorrow) that will inexplicably cause great harm to Carney, Biden, and anyone else involved in efforts to malign her.

There is no way in hell that Hillary runs in 2016-first she’ll be like 70 and she already looks like a train wreck-second, even if Romney totally screws the pooch and our economy and foreign policy get even worse, the dems will not go with her.
But Romney will turn things around and make whomever the dems run, their own Bob Dole…hey, maybe in that case, she might be the sacrificial lamb.

I think it’s just bad form to talk about a female politicians’ age. That’s never done with men. Joe Biden will be pushing 75 in 2016 and people are talking him up for the nomination in 2016. No one is mentioning his age.

I have always admired Secretary Hillary Clinton, and I hope that you are right that she will turn on President Obama to save herself. I don’t want to dislike her, but she is keeping company with such losers and lying lowlifes. I hope she breaks from the Obama administration soon and takes them down hard.
Initially Hillary said that the attack on the US embassy in Libya was the result of a protest against the utube anti-muslim trailer. I wonder if Obama pressured her to say that, since the attack went on for at least 5 hours and the embassy people on the ground fed info to US State department. Clearly, she knew better than that.
I just wish she’d go back to her old hairstyle.
I have read, more than once, that Chelsea encourages Hillary to keep her longer hair style. Chelsea asked her Mom to grow her out for her wedding and additionally encouraged her Dad to lose weight.
And Chelsea is an expert on hairstyles. For years she wore that curly Wasserman Schultz do and looked terrible.
I just wish she would get her hair done! Good Lord…she looks old and tired and like she absolutely doesn’t care anymore…She never was a cover-girl…but good grief! She really needs to take more interest in grooming!
Hi Kevin. You’re absolutely right about age but incorrect, I think, about its application to men. Bad form obviously meant nothing to the democrats who viciously attacked then-70-year-old McCain in 2008 for his potential to be the oldest inaugurated president in US history. I think the ageist principles espoused by democrats in 2008 against McCain will make it difficult for a 70+ year old democrat to run for POTUS in the future.
If for example Obama loses, and then tries to pull a ‘Grover Cleveland’ in 2016 (he is an egomaniac) against Hillary in the primaries, I have no doubt that he, like-minded democrats and the media would resurrect the age issue, and proceed to brutalize her with it.
I believe they talked quite a bit about Ronald Reagan’s age, especially when he was running for a 2nd term. It was actually a debate question that he knocked out of the ball park.
Kevin, Hillary has never been a favorite, but I don’t hate her either. But let’s face it, she could be 70, 60, 80, or any age inbetween, this woman has been running a political race with/against men who don’t respect women. And I am talking her own party. If she wants to be the 2016 candidate for President she will have to start campaigning November 15. I can only go by pictures I see of her and right now she looks like a person who has given it their all – is there any energy left?

If she does run, my impression of her will be absolute power hunger because there would be no other reason for the endeavor.
Jaylene, Hillary was never my favorite before (nor Bill for that matter), but BO makes her look like a born-again centrist at this point…. I would still prefer a more conservative woman to run, but I believe age actually works in a woman’s favor. A number of conservatives in 2008 were conflicted about Sarah Palin as VP with several school-age kids, particularly a very young special needs child. And 2 little words settle the age argument for me – “Margaret Thatcher”!!
Yes they are the same age, but remember that, in 2016, Mitt will be in his 2nd term at the age of 69, whereas she will be a candidate going into her first term at the same age.

If you don’t like someone, there are hundreds of ways you can criticize the person…but you never, ever need to go with that person’s AGE, or RACE, or GENDER.
If you can’t find anything to criticize about the person besides those three things, then maybe that person isn’t as bad as you’re trying to claim…or you aren’t inventive enough to find something wrong with the person besides “she’s too old!”.
I fully appreciate your comment Kevin, but it is how as a species we view aging men and aging women differently. For almost the entire history of the human species women were valued for their ability to give birth to and raise children; men were valued for their ability to provide. The subtext for bearing and raising children has not changed: youth. The subtext of providing has shifted from providing food and physical protection (youth) to providing income and economic protection (maturity). President Romney fits this new definition to a tee. And he brings Paul Ryan – from a hard-wired neuro-psychology perspective, this is a perfect combination (and exactly opposite of the Obama/Biden – and Bush/Cheney – ticket).
She has a larger issue: when Team R/R turn the economy around in 2-3 years any political run against them will amount to a Banzai charge against machine guns with the same predictable result. She is smarter than that. She took a huge gamble becoming the SoS – a calculated risk to burnish foreign policy credentials for a White House run.
If it weren’t for Bill, I would expect her to ease off into an exhausted retirement, maybe get an editorial position with NYT or WSJ or teach foreign policy at an Ivy League school. But Bill loves the spotlight so I expect him to lobby hard on her behalf for a UN position regarding women’s rights.

That’s true but Hillary has been through the ringer the last four years as SOS. This Libya situation is hurting her too. Her blaming that stupid video for Chris Stevens and the three military guys that were killed. In other words, she’s got the stench of Obama, or BO on her. It’s too bad she didn’t tell Barack to shove the SOS appointment back in 2009.
It isn’t the age…it’s the mileage. No one would hold up well being married to Bill all these years. That, however, proves she is as tough as nails!

Before Obama I was a lifelong Dem from a family of Dems since they came to America from Russia and Europe AND I was a delegate for Hillary in 2008. I thought Obama was a nasty piece of work and a big phony and a jive-a** thug from the moment I first saw him.
Obama was gifted with the nomination and there were LOTS of dirty tricks and the caucuses were rigged and on & on….the entire thing was a fraud.
The moment Obama became the candidate was the moment I left the Dem Party and then, when HRC went on to support Obama and carry water for him as Sec of State…I was seriously disappointed and the scales fell from my eyes.
I could never support her again for office but I sure would get ENORMOUS pleasure if she and Bill turned the tables on Obama, and she resigned and spilled a lot of beans and got Obama back but GOOD…..BEFORE the election.

When I heard Jay blaming State/Hillary, I just knew the OTeam would live to regret it. Not only Hillary’s wrath— Bill won’t put up with that either. Waiting for a slip of the tongue or “hot mic” incident soon.
I know I was one of the first to note Carney’s comment in the thread below and admit to using the bus analogy. Mainly because that’s been S.O.P. for the administration (and apparently the “administration” since there’s a difference no one was aware of until today) from early on. Even to the point Michelle Malkin and other site have a school bus graphic with 0 at the wheel.
But while I used the analogy, I am well aware Hillary will not stay under that bus for long. Wasn’t a fan of the Clintons, but always respected their political savvy. As I heard the audio again driving home, all I could think was, “Carney is TOAST.” He was flailing trying to cover for Biden’s comments and as he stammered his way through his answer – possibly aware many in the intelligence community were pushing back off the record from the moment the Joe-Ker chuckled out his claim he and the President never got the request – went with the first scapegoat he could think of. The State Department.
Carney has always struck me as the kid in kindergarten who had a crush on the teacher, got to be the teacher’s helper of the day and let it go to his head, ignoring the fact that tomorrow someone else will be the helper and he’ll be back with the kids he was looking down on. He wrote a fawning profile of 0 before he was tapped to replace Gibbs, has carried the water for the administration(s) no matter how stupid the statements made him look and treated his former colleagues in the WH Press Corps with disdain is they called him on it. Hillary still has he following among the old media and could make sure his options once he’s out of his position are very few. If the equally dim “shining lights” of the campaign spin machine, Cutter and Rice, pile on his statement, we could see Hillary have an opening for a nuclear option.
…and Bill & Hillary will be on an island dancing when it all crashes and burns. Plausible deniability BUT we will know and smirk ala Joe Biden when it happens. It will be sweet justice!

Hmmm….So Hillary isn’t interested in doing what right and good for the country, she’s only interested in her future plan of running for president. Great, that’s what we need, another self centered president.

All the players in the New World Order-Global Government are laughable to me. They are like the various crime families in the MAFIA. They will kill each other after working together. They are interested only in power. The Neo-Cons like the Bush family and the leftists like the Gores, Obamas Clintons and Windsors are all families whic will do any thing to position themselves at the helm of the global dictatorship we are slouching towards. I missed it but Kudlow on his saturday morning program interviewed Ed Klein in the first hour. I heard the second hour and he mentions that interview. My observation, it seems to have left him pretty angry.
Kudlow has podcasts so I’m going to go back later today when he puts them up and listen. Also, sometimes around late afternoon, ABC radio repeats the program.
What about the possibility that Hillary will just say “screw it”, and burn down the house, just to watch it burn? She will be 68 in 2016, taking down Obama could be her “Magnum Opus”.
I am one of those people who could probably have been termed a “Hillary hater” for many years. My main problem with her is the way she let Bill treat her. As a woman who was in an abusive relationship I think she lost the respect of many women like me when she stayed with Bill, even after he’d admitted to having an affair with a woman barely older than their daughter. I realize that it was a personal matter, but from my own experience I could just picture how many abusive men said to their spouses, “It doesn’t seem to bother Hillary so why should it bother you?” Actually, my ex gloated over the situation. It was very painful and I felt that Hillary lost a great opportunity to help other women in similar situations who didn’t have the resources to live separate lives.
On the other hand, I never thought Hillary would have wanted to bring down the United States. She wanted the power, but I do believe she would never have done what Obama has done. She would have been a much better President and I think we all would have felt safer with her at the helm.
I can’t imagine Hillary or Bill for that matter having any loyalty towards Obama or the Democratic party after the way she was treated. In a strange way we owe Hillary a debt of gratitude. The way she was treated by her own party exposed the Democrats for the hypocritical leftists they are. The fact that they bypassed an experienced politician like Hillary in favor of a neophyte like Obama shows that it’s all about promoting an extreme Leftist ideology, and not about what’s best for the country.
I’ll never forget that picture of Hillary, Obama and another politician, his name escapes me at the moment. He and Hillary had their hands over their hearts during the Pledge of Allegiance, Obama did not. I always respected Hillary for that.
You’re talking about what happened in 2007 in the lead up to the Iowa Caucus. It was Obama, Hillary, Bill Richardson, and John Edwards on the stage with some Iowa people.
The only one without his hand on his heart was Obama.
I think what Obama was doing was called the crotch salute. That is not the only time I saw him in that position. I think it was like giving the “finger” to us all. He is not a Patriot.

While I may not agree with her politics, I felt that Hillary would have made a far superior President than the Lightbringer*(tm).
It does not surprise me that they are trying to hang this on her. It’s been there philosophy to never let a crisis go to waste, so what better use for this one than to completely scuttle her ability to make another run and to show the Clinton faction of the party who is really in charge? Making an example of your internal ‘enemies’ is a tactic worthy of any good Leninist. If she is asked to appear before the Congressional committee to testify under oath, I’d say she should do it. Tell the truth, the whole truth….who could fault her for that?
I really hope she has a fantastic comeback against Biden and Carney,but my feeling about this finger pointing session is that if she doesn’t say anything,then the whole matter will probably be dropped.

Your fawning over Hillary has been an education for me. I’m more like CarolAnne in my opinion of Hillary, but your comments have given me reason to re-evaluate.
I’ve always thought she was the brains behind Bill, but I disliked her for letting him treat her like garbage and sticking with him. I guess that long term power was more important to her than short term humiliation.
She is however knee deep in the cover up for Benghazi and I don’t think that will work to her benefit over time.
I’ll always wonder who made the decision that BO was “the one” and Hillary was yesterday’s news.
I keep having this mental image of Hillary undergoing a “Saul to Damascus” conversion – and avenging herself by throwing Obama not merely under the bus, but under the steamroller.

I thought of you, Kevin, when I heard that Obama’s Spokeskid, Carney, threw Hilary under the bus on Bengazi. (Not in a CarolAnne way, but because I wanted to get your perspective on this). Like you, my first thought was that the O-bots would live to regret this, as you don’t mess with the Clintons this way. (After Bill saved his bacon at the DNC Convention, no less).

Kevin, A lot of us who read Hillbuzz are cradle conservatives, not converts like you. The Clinton era was really, really hard for us to live thru. Hillary was a part of that. We will have to agree to disagree. I do agree with you however that is was a cheap shot bringing up her age and her appearance. Not called for.

Male politicians, actors, athletes, and executives are NEVER criticized for their age. Only women.

I agree. The age thing is a not-so-subtle form of gender discrimination. I saw a few Flav-R-Ade drinker on Twitter saw something to the extent of “I was hoping Hillary would run in 2016, but now think Biden could run.” Never mind that, if I’m not mistaken, he is older than she is.
I do think her time as Secretary of State has worn on her more than the 8 years of Bill’s term and the highs and lows of those years, but that’s stress of trying to keep 0′s plates in the air more than age. I could see her return to the Senate or even maybe make a House run as she could very easily work into a leadership position even as a “freshman.”
That is not exactly correct. The Dems tried to use age against Reagan in 1984, and they used age against McCain in 2008, that is why he promised to only be a one term president and it really hurt him.
To the demorats, either the opposition is too old or too young. They can’t make up their minds. I have visions of them stuck in a turn-style going round and round and round … That’s why I won’t ever trust one. They can’t stick to their guns.
I think age does matter. Didn’t Joe show his? it would be nice if both men and women were treated the same, but, if someone is old and they show it by what they say-you gotta call it. What I find amusing is how people think Hillary needs to lose weight and get a face lift. How many male politicians do we say that about? Do we obsess about their hairstyle?

I remember Don Imus making fun of the man who was running for president against Bush II in 2000. Called him “turkey neck” and thought he should have surgery. While it was a bit mean spirited, I did mentally pat Imus on the back for being an equal opportunity insulter. I mean, that sounded like something you’d say about a woman. Older male pols have had detractors too, and may suffer the slings & arrows of ageism.. It’s just that there are a lot more male pols.
As far a “youth” being associated with childbearing…well, duh. But that function is of relatively short duration, in relation to the whole life. In fact, it’s better for men to be younger too, when they father children, for many reasons. It’s not impossible for them in older years, because, after all, it’s not a great physical strain to do so (relatively.) But nature and society have conspired to make it very unusual.
World class pols of both sexes are mostly past their reproductive phase, whether through biology or choice. Age can even be a relief, if you’ve got your health. By the time you get to be 60 or 70, you realize a lot of the stuff you obsessed about was never worth it, or certainly is not worth it now. Most women I know are a lot more interesting in their older years, even if less pretty.

I voted for Hillary in the democratic caucus. At that time I considered myself an independent and the opportunity to take part in a caucus in my small community appealed to me. But through 2008, I realized I was a conservative and my eyes opened to what is going on in this country. I remember in 2008, before the John Edwards scandal broke, Edwards awarded all of his delegates to Obama. If that scandal had broken earlier, those delegates very well could have gone to Hillary. I was really surprised she took a role in the administration but thought that part of the reason was that the O campaign would help relieve some of her debt. Plus I have read that saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I have wondered, too, about what I read on Ulsterman about one of the Clinton delegates being murdered, someone close to the Clintons. Maybe they have received some threats (am I being Tigger?). She certainly has taken a lot of abuse. I don’t like one of her assistants having ties to the muslim brotherhood, that bothers me. I do believe it is conceivable for her to return to her Rodman roots and veer to the right in her politics. I agree it will be interesting to watch. It would not surprise me if Bill endorses Romney in some way. And, maybe some documents will begin leaking.
Hillary personally makes me sick to my stomach when she speaks (LIES) however a pissed of Bill and Hillary and the dispatched DLC’ers who were shoved to the corners when the progressives took over going at Obama makes me giddy like a school girl. If there is one thing the Clintons do the best is DESTROY ask the women she and her husband destroyed for coming out to the tell the truth of the FREAK he is, I am looking for a bloodbath, should be fun. My MIL had a stroke recently and can’t speak (her only disability except for needing a walker). The family has someone who sits with her during the day. This person told me that sometimes when she comes into the room MIL looks at her like she wants to kill her. I had to laugh! I have seen that look for over 30 years.

Kevin, are you of the opinion that Hillary is innocent of wrong-doing in the Benghazi attack? What would your opinion be if she was the person to decide that the Embassy did not require greater security? As Secretary of State I would think she would be well-aware of the prior history leading up to the attack, and would be aware of the Embassy’s request, pleading, for more security.
I just don’t know how I want this to play out. I mean I salivate at the notion that Hillary has something that could really reveal the cover-up, and help to take down Obama, but if she bears a sizable portion of the blame for what finally resulted there, the death of 4 embassy employees, I would think that would close the door on her chances for future higher office.

I don’t think she knew about the embassy security stuff. She would have seen that as stupid. Why lower security there? That’s an Obama thing to do.
I think there’s something very fishy going on. You talked about that perhaps they wanted to stage some October Surprise, with the Ambassador getting captured and then a daring rescue staged.
Similarly, the White House Insider over at UlstermanReport mused that perhaps they wanted Stevens dead for whatever reason(he speculated that we supplied guns to Al-Queda during the Arab Spring and maybe Stevens knew it). There is also a rumor that Stevens is a closeted gay man – maybe he knew Barry’s secret also?
This sort of thing seems to go beyond incompetence.
It appears that Obama, Biden and the Spokesskid are trying to throw our intelligence community under the bus along with Hillary’s State Department. Where is General David Petraeus on this? He has been eerily silent throughout this whole debacle. Is he giving them the rope or what? Your thoughts are appreciated.
I can only speak for myself, not for Kevin. David Petraeus is a very smart man and right now he’s lying low until he sees which way the wind is going to blow. His CIA has already made unattributed statements about the lack of security and their resentment of the “intelligence community” being blamed for the Benghazi attack. Think that was done without Petraeus’ knowledge? I don’t.
If Petreaus pulls an “Irene Kennedy” here and drops little bomblets of fact into the debate…awesome. I have a hard time seeing a uniformed military man as the DCIA. Prefer a civilian there and NOT Panetta. Gary Bernstsen or Jose Rodrieguez. Someone who has been on ground zero of intell gathering.

I am new to this site, can’t remember how I discovered it but I find it to be so interesting. Kevin, all I can say after your commentary today about CarolAnne, I would like to be a fly on the wall at Thanksgiving dinner this year! Seriously, I have to admit I probably am in the category of CarolAnne as far as Hillary goes.(Minus phone calls though!) That being said, I did come to respect how she persevered in 2008, and I did think she got a raw deal, the way she was treated by the media. She hung in there though. That is what I came to admire. But I lost all respect for her when she went to work for Obama as SOS. She knew what he was, and she sold her soul to the devil, as far as I am concerned. I do believe that the Clintons will find a way to retaliate, they will not allow Hillary to be thrown under the bus, not like this, not after Bill coming out and throwing his support to Obama in such a public way. He will take this as a personal affront to Hillary and to himself. It is going to be very interesting to watch what happens in the next few weeks.

CarolAnne is a nice woman. She just wants Justin to be straight and hopes he grows out of it. She sees me as a temporary part of his life and I am hoping I am permanent.
I respect her, and also know I could be dealing with someone far worse.

But what CarolAnne doesn’t realize is that I will always be there for her when she needs it as it gets older. If anyone thinks I would not help Justin if his mom has problems, they are nuts. I don’t care if she doesn’t ever like me. She has an ace in the hole with me and doesn’t realize it.

It has been quite interesting for him, he has had lengthy conversations with some of them and after talking to them about politics, and asking questions about what they believe, he has told them they are Republicans, they just don’t know it! Speaking as a woman, I think her real problem is thinking she will never have a grandchild sired by her son. I put up with my in-laws comments about carrying on the family line for years. They had 2 granddaughters, but were desperate for a grandson. Mostly, it came from the mother-in-law. When she finally got her grandson, she hounded me for not giving him a sibling.
Kevin seems like Obama and Clinton already come to some agreement. Afterall they both came out several days later pushing the video bs. Then something changed maybe some people at state and Iintel didn’t agree and were not going under the bus.
I don’t blame them a sitting ambassador killed possibly raped asking for security and he was left to die. I think this is very big, and I am surprised that Hilary would allow such incompetence.

The deal is, by throwing Hillary under the bus, by extension, Obama has thrown Bill there too. Bill didn’t exactly like Obama to begin with, but he “did his duty” to the Party and shored up support for Obama during the Convention. Obama’s entire “bounce” was due to Bill.

This has been a surreal four years.
No matter how anyone feels about Hillary Clinton, everyone calls her by her first name. She is every American’s sister, wife, or mother….take your pick….that’s how everyone relates to her – as a relative. She was the first woman who had the greatest chance of getting the nomination for president because SHE EARNED IT. Everyone who wanted that to happen felt a personal connection to her. Kevin got to know her up close and personal but many others felt that closeness without meeting her. I keep saying these past four years have been a tragic waste because the truth is America has had no president. Hillary would have worked with Congress to get this country moving. That is what is required of a president FGS! She was highly respected as a senator. She made friendships and built relationships there. For those who condemn Hillary for not leaving Bill over his affair, that was her personal decision, no one elses. Her whole life has been an uncommon effort to improve the lot of the common citizen. She deserves to choose who she loves and sticks with during a personal crisis. So does every woman – daughter, wife or mother. Judge her on her LEADERSHIP, please. I would hate to live in a world where women are denied jobs based on their husbands’ philandering ways.
It would be more true to say Hillary is more like every man’s first wife. Other than being married to Bill, making his career, and putting up with all the sewage that entailed, how did Hillary earn the right to be president? How exactly has Hillary worked to improve things for the common citizen, as distinct from pushing her husband’s and her own career? Any policy or program you might cite is going to be more of the same leftism that is destroying our country–the welfare state with bureaucracy and dependency or private sector job-killing regulation and taxes. The Hillary Administration you and Kevin imagine would want to expand govt. just as much as the Obama Administration has. Even if it were done more competently, the trend and the goal would be the same.

You have to read between the lines in the article and listen to what Kevin is saying. I worked in govt for 32 years and can tell you I used to use the same tactics (and I’m saying this is a tactic that is being directed by HIllary) to make sure that those who trying to get the better of me and/or trying to put the blame on me for some unknown reason were made to pay for that act. If you read and re-read the statement the spokesperson made, I think the blame is being laid directly on the Obama appoitee Rice. The woman who made the statement has been in govt for years, has a stellar reputation with extensive associations in many different administrations as well as a father who is well-known for foreign policy acumen across a range of adminisrations over many years.
For her to make the statement that she is “dumb” is the perfect foil to take the “blame” away from the State Dept. and put it right back on Obama and his own appointees.
I grew up with five brothers and learned at a very young age to “pay back” the mean things that my brothers did to me. I knew I would never be able to phyically win any battle so I would plan out various ways to let them know that would be retributions for their actions. One of my best was to come up behind them and “bump” them in the back of the knees that would immediately make them either stumble or fall without knowing what hit them — until they saw me after they recovered. The message was received by my brothers and they soon decided that it wasn’t worth putting up with the “surprises”.
As for losing votes if Hillary does decide to run—the focus in regards to voters are going to be those that supported her in the primary as well as those “Reagan democrats” that have deserted the party in droves since 2007-2009 and have absolutely no plan to support Obama but will go back to the Clintons if Hillary runs. The black vote – if EVERY ONE votes – is only 11-12% of the population (and as long as Planned Parenthood keeps up their work with 58% of abortions in the Black community), there will not be enough voters added to provide any sort of impact. The same thing is true of the Latino vote since PP abortion rates in that community are now up to nearly 40%. I’m sure that it sounds racist to say, but the white vote is and will remain the majority of voters for many years to come (again pointing out as I did above that Planned Parenthood will take care of any significant growth in minorities).
I don’t think Hillary has great chances in 2016. I think Romney/Ryan will be successful and will get a second term.
No one will want democrats again if these guys do a great turn around.
Hillary is too connected with George Soros and that is her biggest problem. Soros connections with Obama are well-known.

As a former democrat for many many years, I would not vote for Hillary.

Tse New World Order-Global Government crime families make me laugh. They cannottrust each other any more than different MAFIA crime families can trust each other. I think you are right. Romney will have to repleal Obamacare and help the Right to Work movement in order to jump start the economy. Business people know the democraps are jelous of those who know how to make an honest living. They prefer people to be dependent on government hand outs and for their only chance at becoming wealthy to be by sueing some one. Nearly all elected democrats in congress are lawyers. They pass legislation by lawyers for lawyers. Republicans know business. Romney – Ryan will sucedd. I just hope the constant indoctrination of the left doesn’t blind the public from seeing their sucess.
Seems like everyone is forgetting the GLOBAL economic crisis yet to unfold. I believe Romney will win in a landslide, but whoever is elected will reside over either the collapse of the US dollar (China is amassing stockpiles of gold and trading in the yuan NOT $ whenever possible) and/or severe devaluation, hyperinflation and generally sh_tty conditions for a LONG time. That may open the door to Donkeys again in 2016.
Having said that, I too await the Clinton wrath that will likely rain down on Obama for this. I am totally disgusted with anyone and everyone responsible for not protecting our Embassies and Americans and they should fry in hell a slow death!

I just got a call from Organizing for America. They asked me who I’m voting for and I told them Mitt Romney. He was very nice and he also asked if I was voting for Kaine or Allen, I said Allen. Now I’m paranoid that my vote will be stolen somehow. I hope it’s just paranoia but I regret that I answered that call.
They might not be stealing your vote as most phone calls start this way. My husband made calls for Americans for Prosperity and their whole reason to for calling was to identify where the Republicans are. In VA you do not register to vote by party so the Republicans and Democrats have to go out and find their members. Organizing for America is Dem front group and they are looking for the Dems.
Having said that, they know where you live and know you are at the very least Republican leaning. I don’t find comfort in that at all.

Whether Hillary is liked by some or not, she is has worked very hard in her position. She has worked harder than Obama. The won did not do good at the debate because #1. He did not have a teleprompter, and #2. He has absolutely no clue what is going on. There’s a “Czar” for that. He delegated the presidency to czars,that way, he has much more time to look cool and golf.

I’ve never met Hillary but I couldn’t stand the way she put up with everything she did from Bill over the years. His behavior caused most of the problems she blamed on the “vast right wing conspiracy.” It’s difficult for me to believe that liberal women still adore Bill Clinton. Sort of like a battered spouse always returning to the scoundrel for more. Be that as it may, I do hope that the Clintons find a way to get back at Obama and Biden and Carney for the way they have tried to blame Hillary for the Benghazi attack. It appears to be Obama’s policy that if the US doesn’t look threatening, jihadis won’t attack us. And that’s just so wrong it got an ambassador and three other people killed. And Obama is running around trying to blame others for his mistakes.
Kevin, you are a dear dear man, and I pity Carol Ann. She reminds me of the people who discovered the largest gold nugget (17lbs) in North America and used it for a doorstop for years. Someone visited them and bought it for $3 because the owners had no idea that it was worth nearly $4K. True story.
One of the saddest things in life is not appreciating those in our lives while we can. But I have hope for her. Thirty years ago, I felt the same about my MIL, she hated anything Southern, but she’s gotten over it (mostly) and loves me now.
I’m not a Hillary supporter, but I admire the loyalty she inspires in people I respect. The PUMA’s in 2008 taught me a fine lesson in priorities. I predicted that a black man would be President before a woman would because of historical precedent, black men received the right to vote before women did. History repeats.
If Hillary has hidden cards, she’d better get busy and play them, because they will never give up Holder, but they’ll happily shed themselves of her.
Carney was Joe Biden’s Press Sec before he went to the WH. He’s loyal to Biden, and in this case set up Obama inadvertently. He might be the next to go. Either way if you thought the eeyores on the right were a problem for their own party, just wait, obamites are about to reach critical mass. If O/B set up Ambassador Stevens then they deserve everything they get..

The Clintons have a load of dirt on Obama. Was never a fan of Mrs. Clinton, even when I was a die hard Leftist, Radical Feminist back in grad school when Mr Clinton was POTUS. What did her in for me– the snarky comment about not being the type who stayed home and made cookies for the kids. And I wasn’t going to be that type, (ended up doing it though) but respected as a feminist the right for women to choose their paths without derogation.

The thing is, a lot of mothers are like this. if Justin was straight, I’m sure CarolAnne would be even more intrusive. Because then there’d be grand babies or whatever and the girl would not be good enough for him. With me, she kind of pretends I don’t exist most of the time. Or she pretends I am just a friend of Justin’s. She likes to pretend I just happen to be visiting him instead of that we have a place together. I really don’t care what she pretends in Arkansas.

The funny thing is, it’s an odd situation because I am used to hatemail and people doing nasty things to me every day because of this site. So having Justin’s mom be passive aggressive and make her little comments is nothing to me. I get about 15 nasty emails every day before CarolAnne even calls. She will never be as rude or nasty to me as random trolls out there.

The really oddball or unique ones I share on the site. Like the weird one I got from that guy in Memphis who also writes to Pam Geller and then that one from BeLynda, the black lady who accused me of being secretly black and passing for white (while she wears a blonde wig and looks like a drag queen).
Most of the nasty stuff is so repetitive and uninspired. Poor spelling. Cliches. Unoriginal profanity. At least being accused of being secretly black is interesting.
Justin’s mom and I aren’t on a caring/sharing level. She tries to pretend I don’t exist and if she does have to acknowledge me I am of course “Justin’s friend, the write”.
She saw me in GLOBE magazine earlier in the month though when I was in that issue for October 1st. She read that in the checkout stand and told Justin “your friend is in the tabloids again”.

I had to laugh at that one. My MIL called me “oh say” for the first 10–12 years we were married. I never once heard her say my name. About ten years ago I started reaching out to her and we have become friends, I will mourn her when the day comes. The saddest part is that last May, two days before her 86th birthday she had a stroke that left her unable to create the words she wants to say – it comes out like babble – which is very frustrating because she was known for speaking her mind. Now, any calls to her are one-sided and because of that few and far between.
We purchased this great printer that plugs into a phone jack where she can receive emails from anyone we put on a list (she can’t send out) but she became agitated it replaced something else on her desk and had to send it back. That was the way her grandchildren could communicate with her, sending pictures, etc. But no, not right now.
All this was to say that maybe over the years when Carol Ann finally DOES realize you are not going away (probably like the others) she will get used to the idea you are around. I also believe that there is payback, she could have had a great relationship with a wonderful person, you all those years. I used to tell my kids that someday grandma will regret her behavior to them, and sadly she might be but not able to let anyone know.
I’m not a fan of Hillary’s, but I’d be the first to admit that she has been treated badly by her party and Obama. You know, she looked really good back in 08 when she was running for the nomination, but now, (and I don’t mean this is a mean or critical way) she really looks tired, like she’s just exhausted. Kevin, as much as I admire your site and your writing, I must vehemently disagree with you (and REBA) about Hillary Clinton. I think she is every bit as “Progressive” (Alinsky radical) as Obama. She just is better at putting on the mask. I think she is up to her neck in both Fast & Furious and Operation Castaway and she absolutely knew about Benghazi.
In a way, the country is better off with Obama being elected. He was not nearly as slick as the Clintons, therefore was caught out sooner. I want to be done with the Clintons and the Obamas and all their progressive ilk. We need people who love this country, not people who are trying to destroy it.

I do have something to add about Hillary.
I’ve met her. During the 2008 primaries she came to the university where I was working at and spoke. My job actually let us all have an early break so we could go to her rally. Bill and she both came out and spoke. She was really passionate.
I was never going to vote for her or Obama. I was not paying much attention to the “magic” actually, but I was touched by her drive. She spoke that day with her heart in a way that never really comes off on the TV. She WANTED it.
Funny thing about universities though, it’s really a poor place to get votes in my opinion. The crowd was maybe 2,000 and I knew that nearly half of it were foreign students and staff. I also know that a good chunk of my foreign staff and classmates went to the Obama rally up in Austin, TX the very next day. And so did many of their friends.
They weren’t going because of the issues but simply because they were curious and wanted to say they had seen Hillary Clinton or Obama. They wanted pictures.
These days all Obama seems to do is speak at universities or in places with universities nearby. Sure you’ll draw an impressive crowd, but how many of them can even vote? Like I said my university was small so I knew a good chunk of the people at the Hillary rally and a good portion were not US citizens.
Many US universities have a lot of foreign staff and students who will gather to those rallies just because they want a picture. They’ll cheer the candidate, but they won’t care. They can’t even vote!
Heck even I went to see Hillary and I wasn’t even a democrat. But hey who was I to pass up a chance to see Hillary and Bill?
Which is why I think Obama’s massive rallies back in 2008 didn’t translate into as much votes at the polls as people thought it would and they won’t again this time.
It’s very telling that Romney and Ryan are going into middle-class zones to speak (places of likely voters) while Obama is sticking to his universities (where probably at least 40 % can’t even vote) just to get his large crowds.
My view Romney crowds = likely voters
Obama crowds = lucky-if-they-can-vote
But as I said, that day whatever my feelings about Hillary, I did see a woman trying her best to succeed and anyone can respect that.
I think your post provides, at least in part, a reason Obama is still campaigning on college campuses. He needs/wants big audiences to continue his image as a cultural/political icon. He now faces the reality, even among his voter base, that the general populace lacks enthusiasm for both him and his campaign and therefore finds amassing impressive numbers at campaign stops to be increasingly difficult.
Kevin, I guiltily smiled on more than a few occasions while reading your post today because I too, from time to time, have been known to crack an off-color “Hillary Hit Squad” joke. Never loved Hillary, but I don’t believe she would want to see this country fail. Maybe she if she’d been elected president she would’ve wanted the best for America solely for the way it would reflect on her and not out of genuine patriotism, but after 4 years I’d happily take that over what we have now.

I do admire Hillary for her work ethic. As part of my quest to learn more about the Leftists, I read The Shadow Party which I highly recommend, it is full of footnotes to back up every chapter. It was this book that showed me the Clinton connections to George Soros. Hillary started the Center for American Progress and is deeply rooted in other Lefty organizations. The Clinton Global Initiative has never fully disclosed all of its donors, they have raised massive amounts of dollars from power players around the world. It seems to me, they have become too close to the “moderates” in the Muslim Brotherhood, a miscalculation on their part because there is no such thing as a moderate MB. Again, the is just my hunch, I cannot prove it. As part of her job, she pushed for the UN Resolution that is directly against our Freedom of Speech. Since 2008, too many Americans have awakened and will not sit quietly as leaders in DC on the Left or Right drive towards global government, I hope Gov. Romney understands that…we will be watching cabinet appointments closely, we need someone to stand up to the UN and start undoing the damage done to our freedoms.

As to Libya, I do believe this will be too much for Hillary to overcome in 2016, more will come out. Wow, really? She won’t make a decent President because she’s not physically attractive? Please. Attitudes like that still have the power to shock me, sad to say.
Hillary is 10x smarter than Barack Obama ever dreamed of being, which means she’s about 10,000x smarter than Joe Biden. Unfortunately, she made a deal with the devil and the devil won. I hope I’m wrong, but I think she’s going to end up taking it in the patoot on this one.
I am no fan of Hillary’s but I would hate to see her political life end in disgrace. I hope she will not allow that to happen.
Bill and Hillary are not wimps. If they stand by and Hillary takes the fall for this, I will have lost all respect for them. They will be no better than that bunch in the White House.
If “the intelligence community” initially told the White House that the event in Benghazi was a result of the YouTube video, which agency told them that? I am interested to know. They don’t need to tell us about the intelligence itself, just tell us exactly which agency said that. I have a feeling they won’t say because I have a feeling that they simply arrived at that conclusion themselves out of speculation because of the earlier incident in Cairo. I don’t believe anyone in “the intelligence community” told them that and I will bet that if they did say which agency, that agency would distance itself from that statement rather quickly.
So, Mr. Carney, which agency in the “intelligence community” told you that? Hmmm?
This was a very interesting article, with equally interesting comments. I’m going to take a stab at predicting how Hillary will retaliate.
First of all, as Secretary of State she is culpable for much of what happened in Libya. She should have been on top of that dangerous situation, and responded to the security concerns ahead of time. But she sure doesn’t want to take the fall for a foreign policy disaster and four American deaths.
Joe Biden gave her the opening she needed by shifting the issue to who knew what when, and claiming that the White House was out of the loop. Aside from the fact that there’s no reason to believe Biden, who makes up things like that on the spot, it’s probable that there were at least some State Department and/or CIA memos containing explicit warnings which were sent to the White House ahead of time. Hillary will have access to them, and they represent a potential explicit repudiation of the WH cover-up, but ONLY if they can be presented in the proper way and without Hillary’s fingerprints on them.
So far, nothing I’ve said is too original. But here’s what I think could happen: The incriminating documents will be delivered through subterranean channels to the Romney campaign. In the third (foreign policy) debate, Romney will challenge Obama hard on the claim that the WH was unaware of the requests for additional security. (Romney might also bring this up in the second debate, to set the stage.) Obama will have to double down on denial, to back up Biden’s statement and because Obama never admits to error. Once Romney has Obama really pinned down in specific ways, the documents will be revealed showing clearly that the White House lied.
This will seal the election for Romney, and cement the narrative that Obama was responsible for Benghazi and the subsequent cover-up. The silent quid pro quo will be that President Romney will not pursue an investigation that could tarnish Hillary. He’ll instead focus on the future, saying that the Romney Administration will not let that type of disaster happen again, etc.
Note that in this scenario Biden and Carney will be taken out en passant. Hillary and Bill have no real reason to want Obama re-elected. Bill holds plenty of grudges against Obama, and besides he wants to be remembered as the last great successful Democrat (two-term) President. I don’t know if Hillary will decide to run in 2016, but if she does she’ll want to do so as the savior of a resurgent Democrat Party, not in the mold of a tired out-of-gas John McCain following two depressing Bush terms.
I’m seeing hints out there that much of this Big Bird/Million Muppet stuff is being generated by the Clinton people to humiliate the Dems and make their priorities seem small and frivolous. It makes sense, they can’t be this stupid?

I’m going to preface this with the fact that I don’t really like Hillary Clinton all that much. But I will agree the hairstyle needs a change. I’m thinking Chelsea has her growing her hair out so that she can have a lovely french knot up do. It looks neat and professional and if they give her height on top and a little teasing on the sides, she will look perfect. She’s had her moments with me, she was my senator, but by and large, I haven’t been a fan. In fact the Sunday that the NY Times magazine came with the cover anointing her as our next president got me angry and annoyed. I felt they were dictating to the country. Had no idea at the time that their game was a much more sinister one.
That being said. I’m beginning to wonder if maybe she took the job as Secretary of State to at least be in the game, to at least know what was going on in the administration. If she knew all this “stuff” that wasn’t released maybe she felt that to protect the country from ruin, she had to stay in the game. I’ve read all the comments here about her Soros connections and her being just as left as Obama but hiding it better and you are all probably correct. But, I keep thinking about what Glen Beck always says about quintessentially being an American. The parades, the flag waving, the community, the apple pie, all the stuff that makes growing up in America a unique experience and being an American through and through, unique.
Hillary had all of this, Barack did not. From what I gather, as a small boy, odd political theories were being fed to him to color his entire life. As Beck says, Barack didn’t have that kind of American experience growing up and maybe, in the end, deep down inside, it is what might truly be the difference, all things being equal, between Barack and Hillary.
It would be truly fascinating if, in the end, the little girl waving the American flag along the parade route in the midwest, turns out to be an American hero after all.

What ever brings down Obama, I’m all for. I don’t just want him beat. I want to see him in an orange prison jumper. I don’t think the Clinton’s go gentle into that good night.

I read this account of what happened and I don’t believe it is accurate. It is part of the lie that emerged right after the attack. I don’t believe Chris Stevens died of smoke inhalation inside a “safe room.” He died after being dragged out of somewhere in the embassy by a hoard of screaming, hooting thugs. There is video of Stevens inside the embassy, surrounded by a mob of screaming, rabid thugs. In the video you can even hear him screaming and begging for his assailants to “Let me go!” He was alive and fully dressed. There are other pictures of him that look like they were taken later on where he is all dishevelled, looking pretty limp, his clothes partially removed, blood on his forehead, etc….Reports say he was brutalized and raped.
The accounting that Stevens died of smoke inhalation came out of the State Department very soon after the assault on the embassy became public. I believe that story is a lie.
Hillary came out and continued to propagate the lie about the video being the cause of the attack. She and Obama made a “commercial” that was aired in the Muslim world, basically apologizing for the video and criticizing those who criticize Islam, saying something like “Freedom of speech shouldn’t be misused to criticize Islam”. They both appear in the commercial, standing side-by-side.
I don’t believe for one minute Hillary didn’t know that the attack had nothing to do with any amateur anti-Islam video….But she did come out and push that story along with Obama, Susan Rice and all the others.
Besides that fact, she is the head of the State Dept, so there is no way she can be seen as without fault in this horrible atrocity. The only question is her degree of culpability, in my mind, and how soon she finally separated herself from the lie and began to let the truth leak out.
I don’t believe for a minute she is the mastermind of the this plot, but she did go along with it and now she IS being set up by Obama and Biden to take the fall for it, so it is good if she is “lawyering up, ” because she needs to. BUT she will not come out of this unscathed, nor do I believe she should. It’s just a question of how much of the blame will fall on her.
I do hope she and Bill do all they can to take down the Obama administration over this. It would be sweet revenge, though it comes way too late and at way too high a cost.
She made a deal with the devil when she intertwined herself with the Obama Administration…..And now she is facing a scandal far worse than anything Bill ever got himself into.
It plays like a Greek Tragedy.

I don’t think the article is the whole true either. I just sited the article as an example of Hillary starting to take others down with her if she can. The article shows her pointing at Rice for one.
I’m old. Not as old as your boyfriend’s mom. I’m 56 and by anyone estimation and living with current standards, that’s ancient. Hell, people take out loans to buy surgery to hide their age way before they reach mine. It confuses me why my age sparks so much disdain in people who share my birth year. I figure, all we did was wake up another day. Anyway, that’s another blog another day. It just hit me reading your blog, Kevin, that it seems like every age I have ever been, someone was commenting that it was not yet where I want to be or now, it is gone and I have passed it. I am at the age of dismissal by younger, fresher minds. I always seem to miss the cool bus.
I don’t hate Hillary Clinton. I think she is an impressive person. I don’t agree with her idealogy and I think she has often taken the cynical route. I think she has been treated like dirt by her husband but I think she has always been well aware of why she allows it. She is an ambitious woman. I am not. I focus on and prefer my children be good before they be successful. I believe one would leads to the other.

There are no words left to use, they have all been over used, to describe the sham that is being played out by the Obama administration. Ambassador Chris Stevens was slaughtered.
