Mourning in America

Posted on September 27, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Tell us in this thread what you are going to do to get these videos in front of every American you can think of.

Pay special attention to the Grandmas out there…and the Momma Grizzlies…but most particularly the Grandmas.

When all of us were growing up, whenever there was a crisis, when people were hurt and confused and didn’t know what to do, our grandmothers were the ones who stood up, took charge, and led the way.  Their day-to-day identities may have been cookie ladies, baking banana bread and gossiping at the church bazaar, but when anyone was in trouble, the strongest and loudest voices came from the gray-haired women who’d held the families together since the Eisenhower administration.

Our Grandmas are all gone now, folks.

But, every day we can feel what they would be doing if they were still alive, and saw what Obama and Democrats have done to this country.  Remember:  we all came from lifelong Democrat households, but we know in our hearts our own grandmothers — women who had commemorative plates of Jack and Jackie Kennedy on their walls — would be going up and down their streets every day, working the neighbors up, to roil them all against the Democrats this November.

Grandmas are going to save this country.  Grandmas are going to prevent Obama from getting a second term.  Grandmas are going to put Governor Palin into the White House.

Because Grandmas don’t take crap from anyone, and they’ve lived long enough to know how to fight, especially when the future of their grandchildren is at stake.

Your assignment:  give us your ideas for how to get Grandmas nationwide to see these videos…and stir them up in their own families to get those they love to vote against the Democrats this fall.

I had seen that second one a few times, but seeing after seeing the original above it is quite powerful! They need to be shown together…you can see such a difference!

I agree that they need to be shown together. I saw the current one first, and it was powerful, but when combined with the original? Bif! Bam! Pow!

I remember that ad and the optimism we had in the ’80s. Sad how it has been squandered. Too bad it had to be remade with a not so nice homophone.

I do have hope, though, seeing what is going on with the Tea Party movement.

I miss Ronald Reagan so much. He was the first president I considered to be MY president.

Both those ads are brilliant and cut right to the heart of the matter.

The Mourning in America ad really makes me sad, but it’s the sad truth. The GREAT news is that Americans are engaged and are fighting this idiotic ‘progressive’ machine that wants to turn us progressively into Europe.

I love the videos, and will forward as well.
I’ve also bought a few extra copies of “Going Rogue” to give away to influential grandmas who I admire. Once they read her book, they become ardent fans.

I agree….grandmas and mama grizzlies … hear them roar!

Posting on FB and emailing is one way to get the videos out. I am working phone banks and talking to voters and knocking on doors, more volunteers are needed. I will also take shifts at the polls starting with early voting.

I remember Morning in America which is why Mourning is America is so powerful. Young voters will completely miss the connection so I am educating them one at a time.

How do we get the message out to nursing homes? I’m sure the Dems have plans for getting votes from seniors there, how do we do that?

Grandmas always look after their grandchildren. I miss my grandmother every day and I only had her until I was 5 years old, but she was a very special lady and someone I have never forgotten.

During election 2004 when Kerry was the candidate and we wanted Bush out of office in the worst way, it was grandmothers who were so worried about the future of their grandchildren that they gave us maximum donations to help get Bush out of office. Some of these grandmas had never donated to a campaign before. I was a Kerry volunteer and we called a lot of people and I listened to a lot of stories. But the grandmothers of America are a tough and wonderful group. Unfortunately, many elder grandmas do not internet access.

How depressing!! The problem with this administration ,despite all the hope and change BS,is they have created an atmosphere of no hope. There is no sense of optimism at all, anywhere I go.We have become a hopeless nation, how sad is that?
I’m emailing this to my email list.

Isn’t it ironic? The “hope” they talked about during the election has now become “hope” for the “good old days” of the Bush era to come back…

During the presidential campaign, I didn’t think Obama was positive at all. All he kept talking about was how America sucked and always sucked and we had to “hope” for him to change it. So many people missed that subtext.

A lot of grandmas (and grandpas) are voting via absentee ballot… they take that privilege seriously. They still read newspapers and more than you’d think have internet access or know someone who does. My mom doesn’t have internet but two of the three people she eats dinner w/ each night do, and they all watch Fox News! Well informed ladies!

My MIL is the reigning great-grandmother of our family. She has done a 180 from voting only Democrat to loathing everything they now stand for. She is not afraid to speak up and defend Conservative principles as needed; she never stops trying to open the eyes the other grandmothers in her social circle. We are so proud of her.

This grandma sent those emails out yesterday to 32 family and friends – with a note to the grands to make sure they understand this because it will affect them shortly and their children also. Today I am sending it to the NJ GOP, with a note to make sure the seniors in NJ see this. I figure that they have a huge list of voters broken down by demographics and pray that they will use it wisely. If everyone did that in their state, and the state party did use it, it would be inexpensive for them to get this message out. Compare and Contrast is perfect.

We started seeing this ad in Wisconsin last week. We’re seeing it quite frequently lately. I think it is one of the most impressive ads I’ve seen yet. It’s going to get a LOT of attention.

      Speaking of Wisconsin:
Obama’s people think they can get his mojo back if they send him out to a BIG 2008 style rally. So Tuesday they are sending him to the University of Wisconsin in Madison and will try to fill 17 thousand seats and would like to have thousands outside that couldn’t get in. Looks like the union buses will be busy that day. http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/26/an-effort-to-recapture-democratic-enthusiasm/

I suppose a university would be one of the few places left that they could actually get 17 thousand people to show up for Obama.

Marsha Blackburn (R) from Tennessee mentioned that she saw a lot of Grandma’s at Tea Party rallies and expressed many of the same sentiments that were in this post. She’s a Grandma herself.

I am a great-grandmother (18 times) and I am gathering materials to send to one of my granddaughters to read. I will include a note for her to pass the information on to everyone that she can. That family (her’s, her parents & sisters) are so busy with Facebook & football fan activities that they don’t seem to have time to pay much attention to what is going on in the government. So, it is up to this grandma to prod them to become aware of the seriousness of the country’s direction. I just hope that they do pay attention to my packet of materials (print-outs, etc.)
