Bijou – I live on Long Island, not anywhere near Harlem, but I think I can pass around some copies. Next week I have a date to meet a friend in the city, so I can leave copies on the train and a whole pile of flyers in Penn Station.
Also, I’ll send the flyer to my husband’s office computer. He works in the city and has already agreed to pass the information around his office.

Trying to figure out why there are so many security breaches with this presidency. I don’t recall this many security breaches with Bush. While he was famously attacked by a foreign journalist and his shoes, he was better protected.
Something is amiss here. Why is Obama’s security frequently compromised? Is he really this exposed or is there a bigger picture that’s developing? Why does it feel as though a patsy is being sought out somewhere in the masses. The masses that do not agree with this president’s policies and question his agenda. Is someone being sought out, Like a Lee Harvey Oswald and his “communist” ties.
Either this is the MSM further martyrizing the president or something weird is afoot.

I, too, have thought there was an unusual amount of leaks and security breaches. Also think the Won puts himself in many situations unnecessarily. Seems like he is forever sticking his chin out, daring someone to land a right hook. I know, early on, they kept trying to put out that he had a huge number of threats agains him. Then the SS said it wasn’t more than anyone else. He and his ilk just keep manufacturing crises and crying wolf.
Another thing. Why is Biden attached at his hip? I thought the P and VP were not supposed to be at the same place at the same time for security reasons.

On sencond thought, maybe he wouldn’t mind getting hurt if it would create sympathy. Maybe not even killed if he is certain the chances of furthering is agenda is lost. Actually they can veto him going places. If there is a danger they can take him to safety against his will if they have to. It is their job to keep him safe at all times. Like after 9/11 Bush was completely out of control of where they took him. He wanted to go back to the WH and they refused. It is my understanding that if they view a situation dangerous they have the final say.

What a rotten day!! I was without the Internet for over half the day. The connection was intermittent and then it went down…. how miserable!!

Last week I managed to burn my arm and yes it was a steam burn again. Everything would have been fine except that I then scraped the arm on the car door… and the skin came off the burn… ouch….!! I am feeling sorry for myself ….

Because of my own stupidity (and not reading the directions, steam additive for breathing, etc.) I literally burned one half of my face a year ago, to the month..via steam.
Vitamin E (poke a hole in the capsule and squeeze it out) will help some. Rub it right on your arm after you clean the burn area.
Speaking of that, try to find some anticeptic wash (first aid type) that is listed as “painless.” As you now know, cleaning a burn can be miserable. Here in the states, I was able to use Band-Aid “Hurt-Free” Anticeptic Wash. It’s described as an anesthetic first aid anticeptic, so it contains some pain relief qualities.

I got some stuff from the pharmacy. The burn was doing ok until the scrape… it peeled back the skin and that has made it worse… but I have it covered

My darling mother scalded herself a couple of times and she swore by baking soda. Just made a paste and patted it on, covered with loose gauze. It healed right up, with no lasting damage.
To add insult to injury (literally), to be without your lifeline internet must have been awful. So glad you got it back.

Google specifically “Michelle Malkin liberal trolls” she has been talking about them for 4 years. In fact, she published HB post on them in January. She talks about them on Fox. She talks about them on Breitbart. You can go on her site and in the search bar put in “liberal trolls” and see all her stories dating back to 2006. There are so many and they give you a lot of good information on spotting trolls. In fact…I think Michelle Malkin was the first person who started talking about them.

I love what she said about a Palin/Bachmann ticket- she’s not going to close and doors and she and Michelle have strong faith and are putting their lives in God’s hands. They are open to whatever He directs them to. That is the best possible attitude for them to have and is my prayer for them as well.

Former New York mayor Ed Koch predicts that the Democratic party will face a ‘tsunami’ in the November mid-term elections, in an interview with Israel National Radio’s Yishai Fleisher.
The legendary three-term mayor said that President Barack Obama had “betrayed” the Jews who voted for him en masse. “I must say,” he added, “that Jewish support – according to the polls here in America – for President Obama has gone down about 20 percent, from 78 to 58. I’m going to try to make it lower.”
“I believe that there is going to be a tsunami in November and that the Democratic party is going to suffer enormous defeats,” he said.
He said that Jews need to rethink their unwavering support for liberal candidates like Obama. “Jews are liberals, we want people to have their rights,” he explained, “and regrettably too often they forget about their own rights and the rights of their brothers and sisters in Israel.”
Throwing Israel under the bus
In a commentary piece, Koch had written: “I believe Obama’s policy is to create a whole new relationship with Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq as a counter to Iran, which we are now prepared to see in possession of a nuclear weapon. If throwing Israel under the bus is needed to accomplish this alliance, so be it.”
“I am shocked by the lack of outrage on the part of Israel’s supporters. The members of AIPAC, the chief pro-Israel lobbying organization in Washington, gave Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a standing ovation after she had carried out Obama’s instructions and, in a 43-minute phone call, angrily hectored Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Yeah, I was annoyed by Koch alleging “lack of outrage” by Israel supporters. I guess he travels in more liberal circles than I do. There has been nothing but outrage from Israel’s supporters over Obama’s policies and treatment. Koch must have his head in the sand. And of all the pols, Sarah Palin has been most vocal about her outrage over Obama’s anti-Semitism.
And it does not look good for Hillary who has been doing Obama’s bidding on the matter. Shameful.

Every time I check on the C4P blog it sickens me the way these supposely “Sarah Palin supporters” keep on writing about anti Palin pundits. They waste their time defending Palin and leave the real threat of Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty, Thune et al. running wild. Sarah don’t need to go on the defensive, she is going on the OFFENSIVE.
Sarah Palin does not needs to be defended against liberal democrat pundits, she is doing that very well herself. These folks in C4P only give propaganda to the anti Palin people.
The real objective is not taking down leftiest pundits, it is portray Sarah as the ONE for the GOP. While these folks are just defending Sarah, Ron Paul et al. are gaining ground. They need to start attacking Romney’s liberal policies 24/7. They need to attack Huckabee wishy washy stances. If they don’t attack Sarah’s potential opponents from now, any of these men will take the nomination from her.
They need to forget about the 11th commandment and start attacking with no mercy.
The goal is the nomination, we can deal with Obama-Geither-Emmanuel-et al. after that.
In the same vein, I keep thinking that we should take our cue from Sarah. Instead of defending ourselves, just keep promoting our ideas/ideals and America in a positive light. Ignore the Progressive chatter/propaganda unless it is a direct personal hit that absolutely cannot be ignored.

They did go after Romney, somewhat, when Palin wrote a facebook post on the financial “reform” bill. They called out Romney for supposedly being a financial mastermind, but curiously staying silent and allowing Palin to take the hits.
I have noticed they take on all the media flak, but I would think its a balancing act. When do you respond or let it go? It was the media that has sullied her name and planted “doubt” in the minds of some conservatives and independents. So, maybe to them, the media is the source of everything bad for Sarah.
If you feel so strongly about it, there is nothing stopping you from starting your own blog site, and posting all the Palin offense vis-vis Mitt Romney et al.
I like that they address and debunk the hit pieces on Palin. Their responses are always well-sourced and well-written. Many of us are still out in the trenches trying to persuade others to join Team Palin but are not nearly as well-informed as the C4Pers. So, their responses give us reliable ammunition to respond to the latest attacks and continue to build her support.

Whats on my mind today is very local, very topical only to me. Sorry guys.
Got a call today from the vice principal of my sons school. He is getting suspended for one day for fighting. My hackles went up, fighting? grrr. bad. then he told me the whole fiasco.
Short version: Kids were picking on his friend at lunch, he stood up for him, it escalated into physical fight, my son won.
Now I need to figure out how to reinforce standing up for the ones being picked on and let him know I am proud of that…yet constructively punish and discipline for fighting instead of getting an adult.
oh, yah, and not laugh. My son is 10 and 46 lbs. Teensy. Whapping big boys. Think….chihuahua with the soul of a Rottweiler, for good causes. He has a heart as big as the sun. things to mull over at work tonite. How to punish effectively PARTS of his actions.
That’s right. You should turn the cheek, when you can. But sometimes, you just have to fight fire with fire. Teach him that being a man means taking your punishment, even when said punishment may be unjust.
With that said, please go easy on the boy. He’s a “hero in the making”.
Yah. I just have to figure out how to strike a good balance. I am figuring he will be helping me clean house tmorrow and we can talk about how to use the adults around him as a support system to do what is right. Also to let him know to not pick up his lunch tray and whap the kid upside the head, food and all, after the adults have stepped in and pulled hte other boy OFF my son.
He has a big heart.
I offer this advice as a mother of six sons. . If the school already punished him or is going to, that is plenty. You can support their punishment and show respect by not bad mouthing the school or other kids. Talking over other ways to handle in the future by letting him come up with scenarios will help him for next time. Acknowledge that his heart to protect was good and the beginnings of being a man; in time he will find a balance in handling similar situations.

Yes, I asked. Due to privacy laws he could not/would not go into details but the other boy got ‘disciplined’ also, and the other two little boys did but lesser than suspension because they were just running their mouths. It is only a one day suspension. So we get to talk and clean tomorrow. His room really needs it. What is it about 10 yr olds and room clutter?
My nephew got in trouble at school for the same thing. He was defending a smaller, weaker friend of his who was being forced by a bully to hand over his lunch money every day. Michael saw this happen and beat up the bully. If I were his mother, I wouldn’t know what to do, so I have no wise words for you. It’s too bad, however, that I’m not his auntie because then I could handle this with him as I did the same with my nephew: I held up my hand for a high five and told him, “Get some of that on me.” Then I told him that in life you’ve got to do the right thing and, unfortunately, sometimes you’ll have to take some lumps for it. And that I’m proud of him for being the kind of guy who does what’s right.
The VP told me he had told my son it was admirable to stand up for his friend, but in good conscience he needs to learn to get one of the adults.
The more I hve thought of it tonite the more I have let myself feel the pride bubbling in my heart.
The other boy used “inappropriate language with racial overtones” to my son’s friend. Son used “inappropriate and profane” language to call him out on it.
Other boy slapped him in face.
Son smashed him wiht his chocolate milk container. Othger boy was covered head to toe in chocolate milk.
Other boy grabbed son by shirt and flipped him onto the lunch table.
Janitor had made it to the tussle and pulled him off my son and seperated them.
Son grabbed his lunch tray and thwapped other boy with it.
Other boy was covered head to toe with a mix of chocolate milk and scrap food.
So. Very proud. I just need to help him learn when the adults wade into it, chill a bit.

Because of Obamanomics, I had to leave the best job of my life because the place closed down. I was fortunate enough to find work immediately–something for which I am exceedingly grateful. However, my job really isn’t my cup of tea, as they say. I hate to complain given the grief so many are dealing with having lost their jobs. But to be honest, I really hate dragging my ass to this place every morning.
Good news . . . I have had three interviews with a different company for a job that, I believe, will help me recover the magic I lost 15 months ago. Tomorrow evening, I have my fourth interview for the job.
I’ve never had four interviews for the same job. Two usually did the trick, if there was a trick to be done. (Keep your head out of the gutter!) Tomorrow’s interview is dinner with casual dress.

Which plant are you talking about? Simply an out right untruth. One misconception about Hummer is that it was not union, which is also not true. It is Union. Me thinks you don’t have your facts correct. Illegals may work at other factories around the same area but not at Hummer.
Well..my neighbor did for ten years and so did a lot of his friends and family members and they were all illegals….the Supreme factory in Goshen, IN all the trailer factories, RV factories, etc…every day at 3:30 I drive past the industrial park here and there are lines and lines of illegals…these factories (and yes Hummer) hire/hired “temporary workers”..
These weren’t the Hummer for military use…H2/H3 made for public sale..although they are all in the same area…course you sound like you know it all so you probably realize this..
The Hummer H2 plant did not hire illegals and with the security in place for hiring, the “illegal” would have had to have years of real documents and paper trail proving he was “legal”. Also, the plant was only up and running in production for seven years not ten so if the neighbor was working there for ten years he was pulling your leg. Because of the union at Hummer and the training involved for each line job, “temporary” workers were nada. Summer intern jobs for college students were “temporary” as well as a few spots here and there for miscellaneous work, and again, required paperwork to pass security; system just would not allow for illegals. How do we know the “lines and lines” outside the factories in area you mentioned are illegals? You can tell just from driving by? The demographics of the H2 plant was reflective of the surrounding population and thus could not have had “lots of his friends and family members and they were all illegals”
H2 were products of General Motors and contract with them and with unions would not allow for illegal hires. This info is available with through google searches.
The H2 plant was about as American apple pie as you could get….diverse in the same proportions as the general local population and every effort would have been made to avoid hiring illegals.
The good news is that since you are driving by the factories every day at the same time, you most likely are employed and that, in this economy is a gooood thing! (Well, maybe not if you are running school children, I guess.) I have seen three individuals who could not find a job for two years recently get employment, so maybe this oppressed is on the uprise.

My name is not Mark (that is my husband’s name). I have lived in the god-awful town of Goshen for 12 years. The mayor of this town promotes it as a sanctuary city. There has been a ten-fold (at least) increase in the amount of illegal workers. My husband communicates with a lot of the “old timers” who live here and are in the know about exactly what is going on…with the influx of illegals…I also did volunteer work in the school district and it was plainly visible that these were not US citizens (except for the ones that were born here after their parents crossed the border)…but it’s cool that you are an illegal immigrant supporter…I guess they need all the help they can get.
Beck is not always 100 percent on or right. I don’t watch his show, b/c he equates R’s with D’s, and in some cases, that’s true, but not the whole party. He was dangerously close to pushing a 3rd party, and has Hillbuzz has written ad infinitum, 3rd party talk only helps the liberals hold onto their power.
Anyway, Rush would never say something like that. That’s why he dominates the airwaves with 20 million plus listeners. Probably more than 3 of the “nightly news” combined.
Yeah I didn’t like the third party thing he was pushing. He backed off on that a little. He thinks they are all crooks, right and left. I love how he describes stuff on his chalkboard, tho. He’s good at making sense of complicated things.

I read a bit more of the book We’re Doomed by darbyshire. It is a fun read so far and interesting. A good rant against the feel-good wishful thinking of the progressive-lib camp, and how not accepting the reality of human nature has derailed our civilization.

Like amnesty for a whole bunch of illegals and then same day registration for voting. Plus I’m thoroughly disgusted with all the nasty stuff that’s happening. Our local schools are a mess, and in our part of Ohio no one seems to want to acknowledge that this insulated little place will live is suffering. Well, that is the government/school/local employees who have their little pensions and regular raises whether they do their jobs or not. I dunno. It’s depressing, this vigilance and fighting all the time.

My stupid congresswoman sent out a mailer telling me heath care preventative checkup are free. It pissed me off so I wrote a blog about it.
I received your campaign literature in the mail today and disapprove of you using taxpayer money for propaganda proposes. I know most Democrats think like mobsters looking for money or are useful idiots so let me be up front with you. I am a member of the Libertarian Party, the most educated political group in America by far. Propaganda doesn’t work and I am not that emotional. Unless you kill a baby I really don’t tear up that much.

First you say that I can keep my doctor if I want to. Really? Like it’s any of your business? Who the hell appointed you the granter of my rights to do as I please? Are you for real? We are going to have a serious man to man in the future if you don’t get out of my face.
Second I am not an economist, well maybe I am, but if you take $500 billion from Medicare how will those recipients not lose access to services? Do you have a pile of Obama cash somewhere you pay doctors under the table with? Please don’t insult my intelligence. You need a better education than you have if you believe seniors will not suffer under this reform. If you lower payments to doctors some, not all, will choose to not see Medicare patients. This will reduce the supply of doctors and services available. You will need to import doctors from India and Arab countries to make up the difference. Same a Britain and Canada. Me I like American doctors whose first language is English educated in American medical schools. Cheap imported doctors is not what I would call a gift to our seniors. Hell why not just ship them over to Mexico for treatment?
Sebastian is a great dog but he does not listen to me when I tell him not to defecate in my neighbor’s yard. He is not a complex thinker and cannot foresee the unintended consequences of his actions. I end up cleaning up after his mess and he hardly notices. He and my Congresswoman Kosmas are similar in IQ and behavior.
Third I am a Veteran and I avoid government care whenever possible. Nothing personal but I like avoiding long waits and delays in getting treatment. Oh I guess that is what is in store for all Americans.
So our small businesses get a tax credit of up to 35%? Well golly get I guess that $50 bucks a month make the $5,000 expense of a new employee worth it? Really? Did they teach this in real estate class? Next time give the 35% write off to individuals who buy their own health insurance. Better yet allowing 35% write offs for Health Savings Accounts. I bet that would be popular with the young people. Just a guess.
So the pre-existing condition people get a special pool. And what is to stop people from dropping their coverage and waiting until they need insurance to sign up? That $700 dollar IRS fine verses a $8,000 health care plan? Are you really that stupid Mrs. Kosmas? There is a reason the free market works better than the government. They have IQ’s over 100 and they don’t have a pool of Obama money waiting to dip into when things don’t balance out.
Requiring “free” preventive care for private plans and Medicare. Free? Free? Really? Is it that Obama stash of money somewhere paying the doctors and staff for the “free” preventive care? Why did I even read this? Nothing is free. Private health care plans will raise cost to cover the “free” preventative care or cut back services in other areas. The stupidity of Democrats is just mind boggling. Why do I even bother? It’s like convincing my dog shitting in someone else’s yard is not good. He smiles at me and seems to agree but still shits in my neighbor’s yard whenever we go for a walk leaving me to clean up the mess.
There are some other points like lower the age of eligibility for Medicare down to 55, banning limits on coverage and ending pre-existing conditions for children. Really is there a problem with children getting coverage with pre-existing conditions? Is there one sick child in America that cannot enter any hospital anywhere with a serious illness and be refused treatment? I don’t think so. This is not England or Mexico. Most Americans including doctors have common sense and compassion.
Extending coverage through parents up to age 26. Hell when I was 18 I wanted out of the house and joined the Air Force. My kid went into the Army when he was 18. Do people really live with their parents at age 26? I say give them mom’s health insurance coverage up to the age of 65 as long as they get a vasectomy and don’t reproduce.
So Mrs. Kosmas we don’t see eye to eye. I like you just like I like my dog. You smile just like him and have about the same intellect as my beloved Schnauzer. I know the real motive is control over the peasants and to create another flow of revenue to politicians. As with GM things will get propped up and lies told but the people will still flock to Toyota for their cars. People don’t like working for free. Not even doctors. So please save the taxpayers money and resign yourself to the fact that Karen Diebel will be taking your place soon. She’s a really nice mother and has a business degree! I have even heard rumors she can do arithmetic and complex business type of things. So as you become just an average citizen again in less than a year be assured Karen and others will clean up your mess and you will not be doomed to government rationed care in your golden years.
