Where is the press on the valiant efforts of the people of Fargo. Fox did a wonderful story on the way the community all worked tirelessly together, but they have been ignored by MSM. Where are they with outrage that Obama is sitting in his office “monitoring” the situation. Isn’t this the same MSM who blasted Bush for doing a flyover? Where are the movie stars banding together to help the people suffering in ND and Mn? I hope you folks will all start screaming about the way the press has ignored this terrible disaster. My heart goes out to all of you.

The last big flood up there our Lutheran youth group helped clean up the aftermath. One of our teachers was born & raised there.

Our small town had a major flood in ’93. So I know how nasty & treacherous this disaster can be. Prayers, too!

Well, well. With the firing of the GM car CEO Rick Wagoner, Obama has now crossed the line of big-time government intervention.

Interesting: the merger of Fiat with Chrysler. How ironic is it that we have a new company by virtue of Obama’s “fiat”??

Bet Ford is thanking their lucky stars they refused BO’s guvmint largesse!

They’re calling it a firing for effect, but he agreed to step down — “retire,” actually — in exchange for continued government help.

GM should never have been bailed out to begin with, but since they agreed to accept bailout money, this shouldn’t be surprising to anybody, least of all Wagoner.

BTW, he received a $20 million retirement deal, so he’s not exactly getting screwed.

Actress Angie Harmon tired of being called a racist by Hollyweirdos. Her statement:

“Here’s my problem with this, I’m just going to come out and say it. If I have anything to say against Obama it’s not because I’m a racist, it’s because I don’t like what he’s doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you’re called a racist,” Harmon told Tarts at Thursday’s Los Angeles launch of the new eyelash-growing formula, Latisse. “But it has nothing to do with it, I don’t care what color he is. I’m just not crazy about what he’s doing and I heard all about this, and he’s gonna do that and change and change, so okay … I’m still dressing for a recession over here buddy and we’ve got unemployment at an all-time high and that was his number one thing and that’s the thing I really don’t appreciate. If I’m going to disagree with my President, that doesn’t make me a racist. If I was to disagree with W, that doesn’t make me racist. It has nothing to do with it, it is ridiculous.”

Adding Angie to my list of Hollywood Heroes (it’s a short list. LOL)

She went on to praise Gov. Palin. Hey, y’know what? If they make a movie about the good Gov., Ms. Harmon bears more than a passing resemblance. Just sayin’!

If people know in their heart that they are not raciest, then they shouldn’t even bother to respond to the racist label. It’s a form of intimidation designed to shut people up. Acknowledging it, gives the intimidators power.

Personally speaking, there’s not a word I have ever said about the Obamas that I would say any differently if they were white. Race doesn’t matter to me.

I look at it this way. If people are too stupid to get what I’m saying and can only think race, then their opinion of me is irrelevant. I don’t waste energy worrying about what stupid people think about me.

I think it is a mistake for people in the public arena to even respond to this garbage. Then their response becomes the story. They shouldn’t let other people define their narrative.

I thought the same thing when some celebrities whined about being called unpatriotic. If you believe something, stand up for what you believe and don’t whine when people use labels to try to silence you.

I disagree. It is complacency that gives labels like this power, especially in today’s brain-dead media age.

If everyone in the USA spent 1 hour a day reading Hillbuzz, the country would be well on it’s way to being “informed”. But as it stands now, a good portion of the population formulates all their opinions on from what they see on TV or read in their favorite magazines.

People need to stand up to injustice in order to defeat it.

OK. Let me try a different approach.

Say you were in a courtroom pleading for mercy after causing a terrible accident. The one thing you would never do is refer to the other person as “the victim” or even “the person claiming harm”. You would never want to put words like “victim” or “harm” into the judge and jury’s heads.

When someone says they are not racist it is likely that the only thing people hear is the word racist. She may have been accused of being a racist 50 times yesterday, but the public didn’t hear that. All we read was “I’m not a racist”. I’m telling you it was not a good move.

Obama is making a lot of decisions that are bad for ALL Americans. We should hold him accountable on that ground. I don’t care how often other people say racist, the best way to counter is to simply refuse play their game. Many of these issues are too important to get sidetracked that way.

I see your point. But using your same analogy, if you refuse to testify at all, it has become commonplace for people to assume that means you’re guilty.

In a perfect world, OTHER high-profile would stand up to defend Angie Harmon, but since that doesn’t seem to be happening, someone has to say something.

“People cannot look at this woman. I really think they’re afraid of her and her morals, ethics and values and the fact that she hangs on them. Is she the most experienced person in the world? But she was running to be the Vice President, so we then put the most inexperienced person as the President. That didn’t make any sense to me.”

A little glimmer of hope……….Germans speak out against the Global New Deal. There is also a video of G20 protest march in UK.

Headlines on Drudge Last Week: MERKEL STOPS THE NEW DEAL

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/G20/article5993184.ece

Any deal on coordinated action to pump money into the world economy looks set to be delayed until a second G20 summit…

Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, last night led the assault on the prime minister’s “global new deal” for a $2 trillion-plus fiscal stimulus to end the recession. “I will not let anyone tell me that we must spend more money,” she said.

The Spanish finance minister, Pedro Solbes, also dismissed new cash being pledged at Thursday’s London summit….The attacks on Brown’s ambitions for the G20 to inject more money into the world economy come at the end of a week where the prime minister has travelled to three continents to build support for his proposals….

    And…..
The assault by European Union leaders also represents A DEFEAT for President Barack Obama, who is DESPERATE for other big economies to copy his $800 billion stimulus plan”.
    Awwwwwwww.

Let’s hope they do not pull it together.

Go, Angela Merkel!! At least one European leader has come down from the Kool Aid high, lets just hope she doesn’t become putty in the presence of our Dear Leader.

Europeans have been protesting over increased spending. Some demonstrations have gotten a little violent. Should be interesting to watch their disillusioned reaction when the Messiah walks over the Atlantic to their side of the pond.

On that note, just yesterday I had to inform an Obot friend that Palin did not say that, it was Tina Fey. She was shocked.

Of all the stupid things to stick, who would’ve thought so many Americans would be too dumb to tell a comedienne impersonating someone from the real person.

I’ve gotten to where if I’m embroiled in a political discussion, I’ll stop and say, “Trivia question: Who said ‘I can see Russia from my house?’” UNIVERSALLY, the Obots say Sarah Palin and I absolutely delight in correcting them.

The typical response is blinking and a look of surprise. They really are that clueless.

What kind of faux pas will the Obamas inevitably commit in France, and will the MSM even mention it?

OBAMA LOOKING TO APPOINT RADICAL LEGAL PICK

You have to read this article. This is downright scary. This guy believes US judges should interpret the *US Constitution* according to *global legal norms*!!!!

    http://www.nypost.com/seven/03302009/postopinion/opedcolumnists/obamas_most_perilous_legal_pick_161961.htm

I’m sure that the timing of this choice is intentionally slated for the G20 in order to slip it through when the focus is on G20. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the Ashley Biden drug story came out now to cover this as well.

Does Congress have to confirm this pick? If so, we need to mobilize on this one. I mean the guy believes in the authority of Sharia law to be practiced on US soil. He should be branded a traitor, not teaching at Yale and certainly not helping lead our country.

Oh, yeah. Obama is a far far left radical. He wants control of every aspect of our lives. He wants control of GM, our kids in school and civil service, the charitable, the census, the banks; he has already stepped over the line in private and public sectors. Now, the budget. He will control our energy and how we use and spend it, our money with much higher taxes, our health under the care of this out of control government. He is so dictatorial, as opposed to presidential, he even calls out private citizens like AIG personnel, Rush Limbuagh, Rick Waggoner of GM, and Dr. Basso ( the man that made the youtube videos “We The People Stimulus Package” and “The 2nd American Revolution”. So,considering the moves of Congress with the FCC, I can safely state that he also wants to control our speech. Most of the people are watching MSM, if anything at all, and are unaware that he is REMAKING our country into a socialist state as he said he would during his campaign. Either that, or the people do not understand what socialism, under a power seeking man such as he, does to a country and its people. Somehow, we must convince people to THINK.

Eric, I WAS WRONG. I INFERRED THAT FROM THE VIDEO. He did not say he wanted to change the constitution. He was discussing the “imperfections” and “deep flaws” of the constitution in regards to people of slavery at the time. Interpret for yourself. This discussion frightened people who do not trust him because they fear a Constitutional Convention might be called, based on above reasoning, by untrustworthy people. They fear he and the congress might use this as an excuse for changing the constitution in damaging ways.

I can see why Obama wants him

Koh has called America’s focus on the War on Terror “obsessive.” In 2004, he listed countries that flagrantly disregard international law — “most prominently, North Korea, Iraq, and our own country, the United States of America,” which he branded “the axis of disobedience.”

He has also accused President George Bush of abusing international law to justify the invasion of Iraq, comparing his “advocacy of unfettered presidential power” to President Richard Nixon’s. And that was the first Bush — Koh was attacking the 1991 operation to liberate Kuwait, four days after fighting began in Operation Desert Storm.

Koh has also praised the Nicaraguan Sandinistas’ use in the 1980s of the International Court of Justice to get Congress to stop funding the Contras. Imagine such international lawyering by rogue nations like Iran, Syria, North Korea and Venezuela today, and you can see the danger in Koh’s theories.

Koh, a self-described “activist,” would plainly promote his views aggressively once at State. He’s not likely to feel limited by the letter of the law — in 1994, he told The New Republic: “I’d rather have [former Supreme Court Justice Harry] Blackmun, who uses the wrong reasoning in Roe [v. Wade] to get the right results, and let other people figure out the right reasoning.”

I just got a call from Rasmussen so had a chance to rate Obama and Congress. I was cooking but, hey, I can stir a pot with one hand and punch buttons with the other.

In addition to rating Obama’s job so far and Congress, they asked a lot of questions about GM.

They asked if I thought the economy could survive without GM. Unfortunately they did not ask if I thought the economy could survive Obama and Congress. ‘

All in all, a good way to work off a little frustration while cooking dinner.

“Getting Through Tough Economic Times” will launch Tuesday with a media push across all platforms.

The site is meant to help people identify health concerns related to financial worries.

The feds will warn of depression, suicidal thinking and other serious mental illnesses. It will raise warning flags for: Persistent sadness/crying; Excessive anxiety; Lack of sleep/constant fatigue; Excessive irritability/anger.

The guide will be available starting at midnight at http://www.samhsa.gov/economy.

Instead of all this Gone With the Wind “Prissy” despair, how about laying in:

*Bottled water & other water reserves
      *Pantry of canned food
      *Supply of guns & ammo
      *Wood-burning stove & supply of firewood &matches
*Keep extra gas propane bottles filled for cooking & grilling
      *Lay-in prescription meds
      *First Aid supplies
      *”How to Dig a Latrine”
      *Toilet paper, toilet paper
      *Batteries
      *Radio
      *Baby wipes
*Heavy duty locks for your doors!

This was what I came up with in 5 minutes, sure I’m leaving more out but you get the picture! ALL OF US GET IT!

BO is the model for all metro-sexuals, isn’t he? Rush questioned today if he’s ever changed a tire or knows how to read a tire pressure gauge.

Let’s see. You also want breathing masks. Wait. I’m thinking about 24. I’ll trade the crank radio and generator for Jack Bauer.

In other words, anyone who recognizes that we have committed national suicide by electing this incompetent and/or committed Marxist is suspect.

Okay folks- don’t know if anybody else posted on this, but it might behoove you folks to check out HR 875.

    http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h875/text

Looks like they’re trying to eliminate the ability of people to grow their own food- all under the auspices of “food safety”.

Hmmm- control manufacturing, now looking to control small farms and/or people’s ability to feed themselves.

So much for local produce, local farmer’s markets, etc. etc. etc.

Introduced by a piece shite from Ct. (DeLauro) whose husband is a lawyer for Monsanto, and who herself received 180k or so from Big Ag.

Is it the water in CT that makes their reps so stupefyingly foul?

This is ridiculous! At church we have an area where we can all share in each other’s harvest. These fresh fruits and veggies are, for some, all they can afford.

if I’m not mistaken, according to the bill you can’t do that. Most definitely you can’t donate to food banks.

From Newsmax: (as if we didn’t know this)
TOWN HALL MEETINGS PACKED WITH OBAMA PLANTS

Here’s one change you can believe in: President Obama’s town hall meetings are carefully stacked with his political supporters.

While the online portion of last week’s town hall meeting was open to all comers, that was not the case for five of the participants the president called on in the East Room.

It appears they were carefully selected among 100 people in the audience. Indeed, the five are among Obama’s most ardent supporters. The Washington Post reports the group consisted of:

A member of the Service Employees International Union, which endorsed Obama.

A Virginia businessman who donated money to Obama’s 2008 campaign, as well as some $2,750 to Virginia Democrats last year, the Post reports.

A member of the Democratic National Committee who also is active in Obama’s Organizing for America group. He even campaigned for Obama to turn out the Hispanic vote.

A Democrat who ran for a state delegate seat in Virginia before endorsing Obama’s candidacy in the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star.

A leader of an American Federation of Teachers local in Philadelphia, who is also a member of the Facebook’s Pennsylvania for Obama page.

White House spokesman Nicholas S. Shapiro told the Post, “The White House reached out to a number of community groups, and the chamber of commerce and those groups invited their folks to come and participate.”

Shapiro did not indicate why only Obama supporters were called upon to ask questions in person. None of them mentioned their ties to Obama when they identified themselves, although one mentioned she was there “with my fellow nurses from SEIU.”

The White House declined to identify a sixth questioner, who gave her name only as “Elle.”

One questioner, Sergio Salmeron, told the Post he was invited to the event through an Organizing for America pledge drive.

“I got a call from this woman who has been working with me for the pledge drive,” he said. “You know, we’re trying to get support for the president’s agenda.”

The Atlantic.com has reported the president was not briefed on the questions in advance.

But, does this bill cover the produce from Mexico? You know, the crops fertilized with human waste that spread e coli and hepatitis? What do you want to be there’s no intrastate contamination worries there.

    RE: Post #8 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/G20/article5993184.ece

I just heard Rush discuss this item He says we are all being set up. That G20 participants have already discussed with each other and made deals. Our governments are always causing distractions. He said Obama would never attend the G20 if he thought he had a real battle on his hands. Obama is going over there and coming back looking like “he saved the day”. THEN he is coming right back here and take over the oil business and the healthcare.

I believe Ruah because, as he always tells us, he IS 99.99% correct all the time. L0L
